Here you have the reviews of real people who bought the services and products of Water Valley Golf Club (Golf) in the territory close to Lake Louise (Canada).
Nowadays this firm has a rating of 3.6 out of 5 and the score is based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is quite positive, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Golf belongs to the category of Public golf course.
Love this course.
The customer service at this place is terrible. They made me pay for a full cart because we only had 3 in our group. First course I've been to that does that. The lady who runs the pro shop called one of the workers stupid, when they ran out of carts. I would not golf here again even it were free. They need to realize that this course is in the middle of nowhere, so when non memebers drive an hour to get there, you should treat them like you appreciate their business, not like you're doing them a favour by letting us pay to play your very average course. Take your $1200 bullshhh memebership and shove it water valley. Ever wonder why you have such horrible reviews???? 2.4/5 stars. Generous in mY opinion
Golf course is nice enough, prices are reasonable. Marshall on the other hand was extremely rude and disrespectful. Won't be coming back.
Great rural course. Tree lined and demanding. Every hole has a different feel and requires multiple shot making skills.
The course is always a pleasure to play. Certainly one of my favorites. Very scenic, real nice layout and usually in outstanding shape. The food in the restaurant is also quite good, the staff at the clubhouse and snack shacks are friendly and welcoming but that's where the good things end. The elderly Marshall is something else. He has zero personality and is quick to bark at people for no real reason. Because we had some "new golfers" in our group, we let two foursomes play through. Well, when Mr. Sunshine showed up he very bluntly told me that I don't get it.???? I don't get what......letting groups play through to speed up play? He suggested best ball despite the fact nobody was waiting on the tee box behind us. In no elegant terms, I replied to him that I didn't drive out here to be harassed by an a^#hole like him and suggested he jump back on his cart and leave us alone. Replacing him would be a welcome addition to this course!! This is not the first time he has "bothered" our groups.
Such a beautiful course.
I cannot say enough about how great this course was and how helpful and courteous the staff were. We had a small medical emergency during our round and the staff were straight out to help. We will definitely be back as soon as possible. Above and beyond excellent.
Very poor ownership/ management . Would not play here again not due to the course but the way you are treated by staff.
God's country...
(Translated) Well, maybe. Since the rough and the forest are not maintained at all, the ball is not found first. Probably it is impossible to hit even if found. The lawn on the fairway is also a bit stiff. Is it a kind of lawn or has it been a long time?
Least professional staff I have ever met. Terrible experience with the marshall the 2 of us played 18 in under 3 hours and still got harassed a few times.. Talked to a local guy at the sundre golf course who had the same experience.. and in his words. "I am a millionaire but those clowns aren't getting 1 more penny out of me". Don't waste your money
Course is nice enough. Good condition. Layout feels a bit repetitive with so many dogleg par 4s. Pro-shop staff unfortunately did not make this a good experience. Got to the the tee box right in time and teed off 2 minutes after our scheduled tee time only to be yelled at by the lady in the pro shop saying “do you want people behind you to be here all night!?” Was incredibly rude and it left a very sour taste on the rest of the round. Won’t be coming back. There are plenty of other courses with much better customer service.
Great course
Terrible customer service on the phone, just lost loyal customers.
Gorgeous golf course! Great staff and excellent food... The garlic Parmesan fries were to die for:-)
Had a very unpleasant experience at this course. Very rude marshal and unprofessional management.
Best course in southern Alberta!
Excellent shape, great day
Very rude and unprofessional manager. This is NOT a family place. Went here today as a family, and they refused to let me walk the course while my family golfed (I am not a golfer). The manager was not polite or understanding about it whatsoever and basically offered no reasoning - it’s pretty common to be able to walk a course just about anywhere else. While I was waiting for my family to finish their round, I overheard another family that was not allowed to bring their one year old in the cart with them.... the kid would have sat in his seat the entire time, he wasn’t even walking yet. Just ridiculous considering this is a low cost, relatively casual course. Would not go again.
Greens were no good and just did not play well. Staff was very rude and thought too highly of their course. Avoid going here unless you want the staff to be rude to you.
Great course. Great views. Very challenging. Staff is Awesome. Love it.????????
Great course with excellent value. Forgiving fairways, challenging elevation changes. Perfect setting, quiet and beautiful. Only negative was that the greens were in pretty rough shape but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Food was good too.
Was my favorite course in Alberta till last season when I played the course twice and both times the Marshall was a nightmare to deal with. What kind of Marshall drives past groups two times a nine? You get a half a hole behind on a hole with a blind tee shot and if you wait so you don't hit anyone the guy is right on you. What kind of Marshall is still circling like a hawk at 430 in the afternoon too? He has an european accent so that's how anyone can recognize the one I'm talking about. The course seriously needs to get rid of the guy but I have a feeling he might be an owner so I might not ever be able play my favorite track ever again, The drive from South Calgary just isn't worth it anymore. Bring back the woman Marshall that was super nice again. The 2 stars are for the other staff I've never had a problem with and the course itself
Loved this course
Uneven tee boxes but the Marshall was extremely unprofessional. Threatening our group to speed up when we are half a hole behind was uncalled for because the owners were playing behind us apparently.
Loved it.
Beautiful
The marshal followed my group hole to hole, never interacting but content to stare us down and actually operate our carts when he felt like flexing. I have never seen that in my many years on the links. Via email, I was spoken to like a patsy by the barely literate management. This course is remote and overpriced and I suppose I could deal with that if it weren't for the feckless staff. In short: go somewhere else.
Lit place
Great value here, absolutely beautiful course that is challenging but fair with unique holes.
Great golfing experience from the girls in the pro shop to the beauitful well presented fairways and the greens are some of the best . This is a real gem money for value everyone must play this great coarse . Wish I lived here . I would be a member for sure .
20 degrees out and you decline 4 people from playing the back 9 after playing the front in 1:45 with 2 hours before dark with no rental equipment? Definition of a joke and the lack of customer service is appalling. Although the golf course itself is unreal the experience and rational behind decision making is brutal at best. Learn how to treat people Water Valley!!! When Covid’s over you won’t have the luxury of treating people this way and your coarse will be a ghost town like before Covid. You’re the definition of a joke! #lindyruff
(Translated) The scenery is nice... and the green condition is good. (Original) 경치도 좋고...그린상태도 좋음.
A useful starting point might be the exceptional customer service. Myra and Mary-ann were professional and welcoming. The course is breathtakingly beautiful, and packs quite a punch in terms of value. This parkland course is complete with lots of elevation, challenging greens, and trees that make club selection tricky. An earnest 5 stars from this guy. I'm certain you won't be disappointed.
Great course, love it.
Course is great, very senic, good variety. Offers a challenge for the big hitters with some tight fairways but rewards consistent shot making with opportunities. Have not tried the restaurant but the hotdogs at the halfway house are great :)
You get to enjoy a beautiful drive in the country and play a great course
Best kept secret in Calgary area golf.
Watervalley is under new management starting 2022 season and is looking forward to see everyone in may1 2022
Nice course
Beautiful course but that’s where the positives ended for our family of four. We booked a 4:15 tee time to play 9 holes. We are not the most seasoned golfers and it took us the first couple holes to get back into the hang of it. There were 2 golfers behind us that we let go ahead of us becuase we didn’t want to slow them down. There was no one behind us after them. At 5:45 we were just finishing up the 5th hole and an elderly man came and rudely told us that we had to hurry up. We were more than understanding and we tried to be friendly with him but he continued to be rude. After asking him several times if he could just just simply give us a time he wanted us in by, he finally said 7:15 because the carts needed to be thoroughly sanitized and cleaned. We were in easily by 6:45. The other much bigger issue is that I left my expensive suglassee in the carrier basket of the golf cart. Completely my fault of course but I know for sure that we were the last ones in, no other customers used the carts after us. I know for sure they were in there as it was discussed several times throughout the duration of our game. When I called early the next morning, they said the carts were all still locked up but they haven’t been found or turned in but try calling back later. I called back several hours later and she said ‘you already called about this and no they aren’t here, maybe call another day’. If you choose this golf course I would suggest to be very guarded with your belongings in regards to the staff.
One of the best golf courses around Calgary!
Terrible management experience. Had my tee time canceled on me without any email notification or phone call. Brian did not seem to care or offer any sort of reimbursement or solutions to the problem. Never have I seen a business care less about keeping a customer. Marshals were extremely rude last time we played as well. Save your money!
Sweet tight fairways
This will be my last visit here! Staff is extremely rude and what's up with the Marshall!? The creep follows you around like an animal stocking its prey! No need for this! Very unprofessional would give this place 0/5 if I could!! Yikes
Myself and my wife went out to play last weekend and all I can say is WOW. What an amazing hidden gem, one of the best courses and new favourites I have played in all of Alberta. The new owners were there to great us, and the staff and service was exceptional!!! The golf course is just an incredible treat, each hole has its own character and challenge! We will be back as new members!!!
Pleasantly surprised. After reading negative reviews about the staff I was a little apprehensive but heard the course was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and the staff informed us that a rain storm would be blowing in so offered to send us out early. Worked out perfectly. The course is in exceptional condition. We will be back.
I really love this golf course. The scenery is spectacular in foothills country with every fairway treed on each side. The golf course is in excellent condition. There are many interesting holes that require course management and accuracy off the tee box. The course is walkable but I prefer a power cart.
Just played for the first time last weekend - in a Mexican Scramble style tournment - and had an absolute blast! The course is under new ownership now - so I have no perspective on previous reviews/comments - but I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The course itself is beautiful, and we had a nice sunny warm fall day, and got to see lots of the local wildlife - which made it even better. Pretty much every hole is tree-lined - but there's a good mix of narrow and wide fairways - in other words, a good mix of 'play it safe' vs 'grip it and rip it!' Challenging, but not so difficult that you can't enjoy yourself. Greens were in very good shape too - though they made sure to put the pins in really tough spots (intentionally for the tournament i'm sure), which made for some good laughs when you missed a put by inches and it ended up 10 feet past the hole! haha The other thing I thought was cool is they have a few 'non traditional' golf carts. Specifically, some Golfboards, and a single sitter 4 wheel ATV looking cart called an "Ellwee" - which I hadn't ever seen before. Not sure if those are available to the public, or were just brought out for the tournament though. Definitely looking forward to playing it again next season!
Great course with a small town feel
Always great time. Well maintained course and friendly staff!
I can't say my golf buddy and I were impressed with the Marshall and the course. We were only a twosome so we thought we would play 2 balls so we weren't bored waiting. Apparently if you want to play two balls, each of you have to pay for 2 rounds. Super unimpressed with this golf course and the way they treat golfers. However I will say, the course is in wicked shape. I now understand why golfers don't have a high opinion of the people that operate this golf course. I/we will never play this course again!
Foul mouthed manager who must have gone to the “How to Lose Customers” school of business.
Super course. So good that it's hard to get good tee times.
The course is in great shape and now under new management. New owners are experienced in customer service and I received that treatment.
Why are they not AGA cerified?
4 of us thought we would give it another chance, previous bad experience with over-bearing Marshall. We all shot under 90 in 4 hours and two minutes. Marshall on us 3 times to hurry? None of us will be back.
Excellent staff in the pro-shop which offers a good assortment of golf equipment in a clean and bright atmosphere. The course is in awesome shape, they even offer cow's baying in the background for added value. Thank you for the outstanding day.
Beautiful
Great layout with forgiving fairways and rewarding if you have a great tee shot. Other than a couple of greens, they provide enough challenge with multiple breaks. I have never waited for 25 minutes to get checked in and did not offer free range balls. The pricing is $15 more than it should be considering premium city courses are similar if you factor range balls. Customer service can definitely improve.
It's a shame management is very rude and petty. I've gone back after past poor experiences and every time leave disappointed in how they treat their patrons. Nice course in good condition but there are better options nearby that are more warm and welcoming.
I read the reviews for this course before playing today. I must say our experience today was most excellent. Girl in the proshop was super friendly. Went above and beyond. Met the marshal people were not happy with and he was great as well. Course was in great shape and in my opinion the best value that is close to calgary. Can't wait to go back.
Great course! Ruined by the rude staff, had our lunch coolers checked for outside beer on the 1st and 10th tees. Not sure if I'd play again due to the staff.
Beautiful location, great design, fun to play. The course is in excellent condition, tee to green. The only improvement it could use is a friendlier feel, casual pub atmosphere with craft beers in the restaurant. We didn't feel really comfortable there. But we go for the golf course, and it's great.
Course was in amazing shape. Staff is very nice and full of smiles
Never been to this golf course before and wanted to visit it. One phone call was all it took for me. Receptionist was not welcoming from the moment she said hello. Conversation quickly ended, without a booking. If your gonna put someone on the front line receiving phone calls, make sure she’s warm and friendly. In less than two minutes, you lost my business. Off to the tooth, madden, Sundre I go where the people are friendly.
Hidden gem...great golf course
Course is beautiful great scenary greens are well maintained. But the marshall hurries you along, citing pace of play is to be waiting on the group ahead. Finished the round in 4 hrs and we were told that was to slow even though pace of play is 4hr 20 min. Absolutly the most unprofessional and disrespectful owner/manager. Considering how members are treated and cursed at by management makes one wonder how the public are veiwed. Will never recommend and not return
Every time I golf at WaterValley the experience is excellent. Confused by all the negative reviews.
Course is beautiful and peaceful. Friendly staff in pro shop always smiling and helpful.
Great course
One of my favourite golf courses however they try to charge you if someone doesn't show up and charge a full cart for one person.
Beautiful course, well maintained with great greens. I'm not sure if the marshal we had (older gentleman) was the same guy that other reviewers complained about, but he was good to us; even chased us down to return a club we left on the previous hole. We are definitely novices and aren't the fastest, but we kept pace and had no issues. We'll be back for sure.
Absolute joke of an establishment. Ignorant staff that I’ve heard make racially unacceptable comments on numerous occasions, ridiculous prices for an average course, and you might as well pack a lunch rather eat the slop served here. Ruined my weekend golfing here, disgusted. Wish I could rate 0/5 stars.
Such great value for the money! It's $59 for 18, the course is in great shape and it is beautiful!
The course is in great shape and a real beauty. We booked a 3 some and our third golfer had to pay for a full cart?....and to rub salt in his wound his expensive hotdog was fresh out of the microwave. I will golf here again but make sure you either have 2 or 4 golfers
Great getaway close to town
Enjoyed my first of a few out there, thanks
Course is great. Greens are fast and true. Tee boxes need some work. Fairways are in nice shape. The staff are brutal. Wow if they had staff that understood what it takes to make the day a special occasion this would be a 5 star all day. Being cranky and old are a bad combo. Need a manager there that understands the real nuances of operating a business that caters to public.
My favorite course around Calgary Absolutely love it ps don't tell anyone
Awesome course. Shot an albatross there today on the 7th hole. Always look forward to playing there.
My first and last experience at this course for sure. Highly over priced, staff is rude as well as the Marshall was very uncomfortably unpleasant. Made us all feel uneasy and uncomfortable as he avoided interaction or conversation of any kind.
The best course for the price! Beautiful and the perfect amount of a challenge. Only downfalls are limited hours come September and the clubhouse menu is very basic and not allergy friendly.
Must admit that we almost did not book a tee time after reading the reviews but are sure glad that we did. The course is absolutely great with lush fairways, challenging and interesting course design. and pleasant staff. We have now played there twice and loved it both times. Speed of play was great and was definitely worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to get here. It is now one of our favourite courses!
Terrible experience, very poor communication and charged card without even picking up the phone. Poor customer service the whole way around, will definitely be golfing elsewhere.
Looks like an incredibly beautiful course, however, we tried to golf there today and couldn't as we do not have a credit card, only a visa debit. Can't rent a cart, yet I can buy plane tickets, a rental car, hotels, etc. Felt very discriminated against, was told it was the system, and not politely.
A beautiful and fun golf course. The Staff and Marshalls were really friendly. Would go again.
Beautiful course BUT the staff was super hard to deal with. We had a golfer who injured herself the day before and wasn't able to golf but they still charged her FULL GREEN FEES otherwise she would have had to sit at the club house . Any other golf course I've gone to they have waivers etc . Even a twenty dollar fee would have made sense but the full Fees !? And on top of it you guys weren't busy or anything . The staff was fairly rude about it too ! It's really too bad . We won't be back just because of the experience with the staff and this silly rule
The course is beautiful but the staff specially the Marshals are extremely unprofessional and disrespectful . They make the entire experience very painful. We were on pace for time and finished the round in FOUR HOURS; but Marshall continue to intimidate us on almost every hole to make it fast. We will mover return and discourage our friends and family in Calgary to avoid this course.
Rating on the curve, in comparison to the price point. The layout of the course is very interesting, and should keep people coming back to play it again. With such a great layout of a course, it's a shame that the service isn't just as wonderful. Checking in was quite the experience. It was very awkward, as when we arrived, we were asked to wait for the groups ahead of us to check in (whether or not they were showing up, maybe there' a crystal ball hidden behind the counter) we were told that there might be a lack of carts, and we had to wait our turn. Ok, we were polite and nice and waited without comment, or fuss. When it came our turn, the lady behind the counter was barking instructions at the girl who was bringing carts around/cleaning them. It was painful. After we got out on course we had a great experience. The layout was great, and the conditions met our expectations for the price paid. If there's just one improvement I could ask for, is that they should level the tee boxes. Most are on a slant one way or the other. Service at the snack shack / half-way house was spectacular., it made our day much better. The marshal was very helpful, and nice too. Not sure who the marshal is that receives the bad reviews, didn't see that guy.
I have never made a google review but had such an awful experience there I had to share. The views and scenery on the golf course are amazing and that's about it. From the very poorly kept greens ( a course that charges what they do should have a bit more pride in them ). The marshal's are some of the most rude and inconsiderate I have ever seen but after having words with the owner I can see where they get it from. Where the course is located is absolutely beautiful and its a shame that poor management/ ownership and course maintenance are so atrocious I Will never be going back as I don't mind spending 100.00+ to golf but having my day and round ruined by the people that are suppose to make it a pleasant experience is not acceptable to me. I would highly recommend Tooth of the dog is it about 10 minutes from water valley the course is in terrific shape the owner/staff are truly a great bunch that deserve golfers business !
This is the worst golf course I've ever been too. I should have known how cheap and run down this place was when they force you to pay full price for half carts and have no atm. Also charged my credit card for pre auth that didnt get taken off. The greens are in horrible condition. Not to mention the marshal follows you around all day staring at you and trying to make your feel uncomfortable. This place is a scam and needs to be shut down or sold to new owners. ASAP
I've golf here 2 times this year and both times have been a great experience. It is a little out of the way but worth the drive. Course is in great shape and picturesque. Staff was all nice and polite we played in 3 1/2 hours on ly seeing the group in front and behind us a couple times. The course is challenging but forgiving.
Great course layout. Tough greens. Many hidden approaches. Excellently manicured fairways and greens.
First of all the golf course is nice piece of property and was in good condition. However...after the front 9 there was a severe thunderstorm in the area. I went into the pro shop to inquire about a rain check and was told, “ there needs to be rain to receive a rain check”. So we headed back on the course only to get pounded by a storm on 12. Not a very safe policy, but they base their rain checks on a per hole basis. They managed to squeeze an extra few dollars out of us. They also told me they needed to take a pre-auth on my card for cart damage (pretty reasonable request). When I checked my card transactions a few days later, an extra charge showed up on my card. I called a friend and he verified the same extra charge showed up on his card. I called the course to have the charge reversed and was told that I needed to speak to the manager. She then told me the manager was too busy to talk to me and might be too busy to call me later. This is a sneaky way of stealing money from their clients.
Course in great condition
One of my favorite country courses. Great condition and value
We golfed here Aug 25, the course itself is very pretty and in great shape. The thing that bothered us was the staff and marshall. We are a golfing foresome who have golfed all over southern Alberta. When we checked in we asked for handicap flags as one of us is on oxygen and one is in need of a knee replacement. The lady in the pro shop said they did not have handicap flags but to use common sense and stay away from tee boxs and greens. On the 7th hole the marshall came to us and started yelling at 2 of our group who were less than 5 ft inside of the cart sign. We explained what the lady in the pro shop had said so he radioed her and she said she didn't tell us that. After 9 holes I went into the pro shop to talk to her and she said she never told us that. The marshall again approached us on the back nine and was again very rude and arrogant. I would not reccommend this course due to the attitude of the staff and we will never play there again and will advise any golfers that we talk to to not go to the golf course.
I'd have to say stay away from this place. Suggestion: perhaps you could train the staff better or get someone that wants to be there to work. I'll be booking my company elsewhere.
Amazing course ????
I canceled our tee-time after reading the horrible reviews of rudeness towards customers but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and rebooked. Upon arriving 40 minutes prior to tee-time I was told that the cart will only be assigned 20 minutes prior. I offered to check in and pay the green fees and was told they couldn't do that either as cart assignment is tied to the check in process. When I returned at the 20 minute mark I was told it would be delayed another 5 minutes or so as they were waiting for a cart to return. When I pushed back the woman snapped and said there was nothing she could do when players are late getting back. I told her I didn't need attitude from her. At the turn while waiting on the 10th tee box the woman suddenly appeared to show me their tee sheet that showed no booking with my name and said I should apologise to the staff. I explained that I rebooked later and showed her the phone confirmation but she refused to acknowledge it and asked me to never come back. In response I agreed and said I would gladly leave if she refunded some fees and she said it was too late for that and stormed away. My playing partners who are in the law profession heard the entire exchange and tried to console me and said they experienced similar rudeness as well. When they called in to say they may be about 5 minutes late arriving from Calgary she said the tee-time would be given away if that happens. The next day I received an email from Cindy Setter with an attachment of my tee-time cancelation and asked me for an apology for my attitude towards the staff. The condescending tone of the email was similar to that of the woman who addressed me at the 10th tee. I returned an email showing the confirmation of the tee-time I rebooked at a later time. I also said my remarks in the pro shop were not directed at the staff but towards her specifically because of her rudeness. She emailed back and acknowledged that the second booking was indeed canceled by the pro shop. She also said that she was not the person who approached me and remarked that I shouldn't have made that assumption. I ended the conversation knowing it was going nowhere and we obviously would never return to this course. Life is too short and as a retiree my wife and I can seek happiness and play elsewhere.
One of my all time favorite golf courses just outside Calgary. Beautiful views and the prices are always reasonable.
Absolutely a fantastic course to play as long as the owner isn't around. He is without a doubt one of the most ignorant people I have met in a long time. I guess when you are given your golden spoon you have a false sense of self-worth. Rumour has it he is selling out this year, one can only hope.
Beautiful golf course. Course was in good shape. Greens were nice. Friendly staff in the pro-shop. I will be back
I’ve had a chance to play with the new owner on two small (private) events they hosted once they took over this month - it’s a great sign of things to come! There is no doubt this course is an absolute hidden gem and the previous owner did a wonderful job creating a unique and challenging course that has always been extremely well maintained. Looking forward to an exciting season in 2022!
If I could give these guys zero stars I would. As stated below from some of the other reviews , the course layout is really good. Same issues though with the marshall on us for pace of play even though no one was behind us our entire 18 holes. Staff is extremely rude and even used profane language on one of our golfers. The game of golf is about etiquette yet they do not convey any of it to the customer who's paying the bill. I would also not recommend anybody support this course until their thinking about the game of golf and the staff change.
Absolutely love this course. Greens were as nice as I have ever seen them. Only reason I'm not giving 5 star review is because the Marshal was quite rude. He came to my group two times over the course of 3 holes to tell us we were being too slow. (Normally I appreciate a course that maintains pace of play). I play a lot of golf and I know when my group is being slow, in this case we were not, and I let the marshal know that we had been playing at a reasonable pace. He didn't want to listen to me and threatened to move us up a couple of holes (first time this has ever happened in 20+ years of golf) if we didn't speed up. We finished the front nine in an hour and 50 minutes, but I played horribly after being harassed and it left a bad memory of this course which is a shame. Not sure if I will ever go back again.
This is a beautiful course and I have golfed here a couple of times over the past few years and it is the same every time with the Marshall harassing our group. We did the front 9 in under 2 hours and 18 in under 4 hours. Definitely not slow play. If your marshal is going to be such a pain you need to have a starter to make sure groups are teeing off at their allotted time. The group ahead of us was still on the 1st tee box at our tee time but as there was only 2 of them they put some distance between us immediately. If not a starter at the very least you should be calling groups to the tee box this wasn’t done either. When the Marshall said we were slow we sped up our pace of play making our round a little less enjoyable and I will not be returning here or recommending this course to my friends or if I do I will definitely relate this so they know what to expect Disappointed The wandering women golf group
Great course however the expectations of the staff and their pace of play (4hours or less) make for a high pressured round. I've golfed here several times but I'm never coming back.
Enjoyed my 1st visit to Water Valley. It is like a mountain course in the prairies. You can see real cowboys relaxing away from their chores. The challenge is there for some really interesting holes.
Fantastic golf course, worth the drive from Calgary.
Lovely course and solid value. Just wish I wasn't 1 hour 25 minutes away from it! Food after round was 'ok' and affordable for a GC. If they had their draft operating I would have been even happier. Lol. Really enjoy the beauty of this course.
Ignorant staff and not enough golf carts so count on walking. Nice course but don’t expect a warm welcome
Great place to golf...
Treated despicably by the staff, marshal and owner. Any good reviews on this course are surely by the owners friends (if he has any) and family. Save your time and money. ANY other course is a better choice!
Don't tell anyone
One of my favourite courses. Scenic, challenging, great 19th hole
Course in great shape and pro shop staff great as well and gotta give amanda the proshop girl high review cause she made us feel welcome and made the experience even more enjoyable
Beautiful course. Excellent condition. Enjoyable proshop staff. Marshall was very serious.
I love this golf course. It's a hidden gem out there in the country. The course is in great condition, the layout of the course is fun yet challenging. The new ownership and management are doing great things to make this a go to destination in Alberta to unwind and savour a relaxing round of golf.
Beautiful course. Ignore the 'baffled' comments from those who had a hard time meeting the pace of play. We played on a long weekend with 2 kids (both under 11) and we finished in under 4 hours no problem - which I appreciate! Play ready golf, don't spend 10 minutes looking for every sliced ball (Better yet, don't slice) and you will have no problems. Only 'gripe' is no junior rate on the weekends (so we had to pay full ticket for our kids....other courses, especially those in BC, handle that much better)
