Working with James was an absolute pleasure. Initially I was hesitant to take lessons because I get nervous swinging in front of new people, but James made me feel more than comfortable. He quickly targeted small flaws in my swing and gave me drills to correct them. Within 20 swings I was hitting the ball straighter and farther. I recommend anyone who wants to improve their golf game try’s a lesson with James.

When I got together with James he immediately pointed out what my issue was. He used TrackMan to qualify the issue, he then gave me some exercises to correct my mistake. He was recording the new swing on TrackMan and showed me that I had picked up a lot of yardage and also a tighter dispersion of shots. Would highly recommend James to anyone!

Today at Deer Ridge Golf Club James fitted me for the new Titleist driver using the Trackman. James had me warm up using an iron and then had me hit my own driver so we could compare numbers to the new Titleist 917 D2 and D3 drivers. After hitting my driver he put together the D3 model with an x-stiff shaft. James then had me hit D2 model with the x-stiff shaft to compare the two drivers, D2 and D3. After comparing the two, James thought the D3 was the driver needed and I agreed! I liked the looks of the D3 more and hit it 15 to 20 yards further then the D2. After deciding on the D3 driver James put a variety of shafts together for me. The shafts varied from x-stiff to stiff and were all different weights. After hitting the driver with four different shafts we went through the process again. What a difference the second round made as I was able to find exactly what I wanted in my driver. This process was very informative! James was able to break the Trackman numbers down explaining exactly what every number meant, which was extremely helpful when deciding on what stick to go with. James was attentive and invested in the process! He wanted me to have the driver that would benefit me the most and was able to answer every question I had for him. Ultimately, after the hour at Deer Ridge I found a driver I love, gained 15-20 yards off the tee, and learned a lot about my swing throughout the process. I would recommend James to anyone and will continue to go to him for club fitting and swing lessons. Thank you James!

I have struggled with my short game for as long as I can remember. I have had countless lessons & friends try and help coach my struggles, but all caused my game to get worse. My anxiety and fear of hitting a bad shot paralyzed me and my ability to play confidently around the greens. Without question the easiest game improvement solution out there. I had been golfing for 2 years and was about a 9 handicap and wanted to start becoming a serious player. Saw James in the summer and in a month had gained 10 MPH clubhead speed and lowered to a 4 handicap. Fun dude that makes swing terms understandable and makes learning fun with easy but effective drills. Also get the privilege of using trackman, the numbers don’t lie! After only a few lessons, I have seen remarkable improvement in my speed, my carry and swing plane with all my clubs under his guidance. Best place to be this winter (or otherwise) for great lessons, great facility and state of the art equipment. I’m really looking forward to continuing lessons with him as my game develops. As a bonus, he is a super nice guy!

I completed a set of 3 lessons with James this summer. As this being only my second year golfing, James improved my game immensely. My driver increased in distance about 40-50yards, with each of my irons increasing by 35. Currently I have knocked off about 5 strokes off my handicap this year alone. When teaching, he goes through the physics behind golf, and why certain things occur in different scenarios, which was something I had little to no knowledge on. 5/5 would recommend, and will be booking more lessons in the future.
