We have all the opinions of real people like you who are consuming the services and products of Golf's Steak House & Seafood (Golf) in Kitchener (Canada).
Currently this business has a rating of 4.4 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is very positive, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we can say that the valuation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Golf is included in the category of Steak house.
Service
Took my baby doll for her 28 th birthday , and she loved it . I had their everyday special and thay was the best steak I have ever had. Their soup was delicious , their salad was amazing and their service was top not ch .Can’t wait to go there again . I have had smaller and crappier steak in Toronto for twice the price . This place is amazing
Excellent service and great tasting food. Worth a visit
Always excellent service and food. Especially handling the pandemic procedures well and efficiently. You feel safe dine in or take out.
Tasty real food large portions enjoyed the view and food didn't have room for dessert, staff were great we'll be back make a reservation less tables better spacing and service
Golf's is exactly what is appears to be - an old school steakhouse. The decor, previously fancy, now seems dated and a little worn. The mirror by our table appeared to be held on by tape, the chairs are worn and the table cloths seem old. The food is done banquet style, with no real thought to presentation (scoop of mashed potatoes, scoop of mixed veggies, steak chucked on the plate). That said, the food was tasty and the service was excellent. I asked for my steak rare, it was bleu- which is fine as that is my preference but it was also cold. My order was obviously done first and was held for the other orders from my table to be done. Overall, Golf's fails the value proposition, but I did not leave unhappy. I would say for the prices being charged that Golf's has a lot of work ahead of them if they wish to remain competitive.
Great food, Awesome service, big portions and great prices
Visited this spot for a wedding. If you're going to host wedding ceremonies on the patio please consider getting some pop tents at a minimum. It would be a spectacular spot for a full on gazebo deck - the view alone would make it super popular. The food was nothing remarkable at the dinner and as MC ot was like pulling teeth to get waitstaff to leave food at my empty spot. Bartender was great though.
Absolutely delicious incredible dining experience! the outdoor dining is the best in Waterloo Region with a relaxing view over the Grand the staff especially our waitress Peggy thank you for making our first outdoor dining experience since this last lockdown so very enjoyable we will definitely be back soon.
Great food, excellent wait staff, nice place for a wedding!
Had the best steak, done perfectly. Staff was excellent. So friendly and efficient
Girlfriend took me here just as a random surprise on a Friday night. I ordered the New York strip with garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a half rack of ribs added on the side for only $8! I could not believe how cheap the ribs were, and they were phenomenal. My steak was cooked to a medium rare perfection. It was a very thick cut of beef and very juicy. The salad bar was also quite good. It had a wide variety of toppings and a few dressing to choose from. The wait staff were very friendly and served everything in a timely matter. I would go back every week if I could afford to.
Really impressed with the food. We got curbside pickup. Prime rib. Lobster tails & Ribs. It was delicious. I’m not sure what their secret is for the Rib sauce and flavour but it’s perfection.
The view is very nice, the staff was considerate, and the outdoor tent has awesome lighting. The food is horribly underwhelming. Portions are decently sized. Tasted like cheap catering: underseasoned, bland, and as if it has been sitting in a warming dish all day.
Enjoyed our first experience with Golf's Steakhouse. Had heard good things and we weren't disappointed. Very good value and everything tasted delicious and fresh, even the mushroom soup which 3 of us don't usually like ????. A 15-20 minute drive home after curbside pickup and everything that was supposed to have been hot was still hot. Kudos to the chef, and thanks George, for patiently answering all of my questions in advance. Thanks also, for the complementary birthday dessert!
Had dinner here with family and friends on December 3rd. It was by far the best customer service I have had in a very long time. From the young lady who checked our vaccine status, coat check, seating host to the wait staff. Exceptional. My sister who cannot do stairs was escorted by staff in an elevator to get up to the dining level. The food was amazing. I had a steak and it was cooked to perfection. I am a fussy steak eater and it was perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant. They went above and beyond and made our experience enjoyable and relaxing.
Amazing staff , amazing food. Always a great experience
Fantastic Food! Last night was our Anniversary...to our surprise, our Son and his Fiancé picked up dinner for us and delivered it to our home! What an awesome surprise! We had large jumbo garlic shrimp, Caesar salad, soup and the Pork Chop dinner.... It was Fantastic! Cooked to PERFECTION!! So moist and delicious ! I heated our leftovers tonight in my air fryer....the meat was still Fabulous!! Can’t wait for the lockdown to be over...so we can go again in person! We are lucky to have The Golf Steakhouse in our community! Our compliments to their chef!!
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here prior to booking our wedding reception. Food quality ???? Price fan ???? See you in 2022!
WOW, what an absolutely amazing restaurant. Every single time I've eaten here the food is outstanding and staff are very friendly and helpful. Worth every penny!
Was there for an upscale dinner out with family. The staff is knowledgeable and food was great, but there needs to be some form of dress code. No hats in the restaurant or especially at the tables, and a collared shirt should be required unless it's a non marked sweater. If you have linens for tablecloths and napkins, the host should be able to let people know they need to put in some kind of effort! Btw, our server was awesome as she even made sure the ladies received their food or beverages first everytime!
Our server was so nice and attentive, but my husband and I thought our food was very subpar. Was recommended this Restaurant from several people. Went for our year anniversary and was pretty disappointed. Got the chicken cordon bleu and it was so tough that I couldn't cut into it, and our server got me a steak knife and it didnt do any better. My husbands filet mignon was cooked great, but the flavour wasn't there and he was pretty disappointed. Bill was around $85 and I really dont feel it was worth the price.
We were looking for a nice place for a celebration dinner and this restaurant was perfect. Not too far away, yet a special place to eat. Roast beef was my choice and my sister chose the pork chop. Both came with daily soup and a full salad bar. Paired with a good wine, dinner was a big hit.
Food is always great, prices are good and the service is always top notch
Golf's has a stuffy atmosphere and below average food for the price. This is not an exciting place to eat as it offers generic and boring dishes and outdated decor which make you feel like it is the 1960s. We went here for a birthday where the Birthday boy wanted seafood specifically. The table had a mix of seafood, chicken and steak entrees. The seafood was greasy and dripping in butter and oil and the fish dish was left mostly uneaten (later resulted in a stomach ache). The chicken was dry and unappetizing. The steak was the only redeeming meal, but again the side dishes were boring and uninspired. The salad bar seemed so outdated a concept that we were surprised restaurants still have these...The food was delivered very quickly and the wait staff were very pleasant and friendly. The desserts seemed and tasted like they were brought in from a cake manufacturer and not made in house. Overall, expensive meal that was not enjoyed.
Simply amazing. Portions were perfect. And how many places give you soup AND salad?
Had a nice experience here. They actually had a really nice vegan option for dinner for us that was a stuffed cabbage roll. Nice large space for events.
Excellent location with views of the river. Interior is decorated with rich woodwork and there is a solarium area with limited seating. Sunday brunch is a favorite, with a full salad bar, roasted meats, tasty desserts and, of course, standard breakfast fare. If coming for the brunch buffet, consider to arriving early for a less busy buffet line and your choice of seating.
My husband and I live close and often enjoy this beautiful restaurant! But they took it to the next level.... I was sick and wanted a French Onion Soup. My husband went to the restaurant with his "own bowl" asking for this soup that's not a take-out king of thing. Without hesitation they filled the bowl with a smile and told my husband to tell me "hope you feel better" So nice .... Can't wait to eat in again!
Came for my mother's 50th birthday/Mother's Day. Food was well done and servers were very attentive for our large group. Salad bar was nicely stocked. Decor is dated but clean. Will definitely come back for another event!
Amazing food as usual. You are always guaranteed friendly service from all the staff and tasty food no matter what you order. We always go for special occasions and also throughout the year. Glad to support this restaurant through covid and feel safe eating at this establishment
My husband and I got married at Golf's on October 16, 2021, and the service we received in the 2 years of planning up until the day of were nothing short of incredible. Planning a wedding is a lot of work; planning a wedding in COVID is a whole other thing, but George made it incredibly easy and stress free. Everything was executed perfectly and our guests were blown away with how quick the dinner service was and how hot, fresh, and delicious the dinners were. The staff that worked our wedding were attentive and friendly, and just everything was so perfect. We can't thank George, Gus, and the rest of the staff for their hard work in helping make our wedding such a fun event that went so smoothly. We also had a couple personal requests that George had no issue with accommodating, which made the day easy. Can't wait to come back for our anniversary going forward!!
I have been going to Golf's for over 40 years and the one word I can use is 'consistent'. You can always count on great food and service.
The food has become AMAZING, like it used to be. Can't wait to return! Beautifully cooked meat, delicious salad bar and the garlic bread is incredible. Great work George! Keep it up!
My family has been frequenting Golf's for many years and have always left very satisfied. They have a very good selection of brunch foods and many delicious desserts. As a vegetarian I feel like they would benefit from a dish besides the vegetable lasagna, such as a soy based meat free option.
Time warp into the 1980’s. Fancy but dated. Very reasonable prices. Service was great. Salad bar is very weak. Shrimp cocktail was tough. Bacon wrapped scallops good. King Crab legs were a good deal at 40 bucks for a pound including soup and salad bar. Baked potato and veggies included in meal were good. Three of our party had, and chicken/ribs and said it was good. One had rack lamb and ate it all. French onion soup was mediocre and not hot enough. It caters to an older crowd. Prime rib special is a great deal. You would be paying about 35 to 40 % more for this food at a the Keg or a newer trendier restaurant.
Wonderful food, atmosphere and staff. The prime rib special was fantastic and the tasty treats in the salad bar where a great start. The coffee is one of the best I have had. You don't need a special occasion to visit this restaurant, but it is a great place to go if you are celebrating something.
Excellent service left a 150 dollar tip. I hope it made her day.
**Update**: We just had the Thanksgiving takeout and it was the same deliciousness we know and love. Highlight of our weekend! And curb side pick up was fantastic. My husband and I have been coming to Golf’s for over a decade, since we were university students! Golfs has been our go to place for a nice family meal or meal with out of town guests - birthday dinners, brunches - it’s always been a crowd pleaser. I only realized how much of a staple it’s been in our family when my 6 yr old daughter completed a homework assignment and with options like McDonald’s and Harvey’s, she chose Golf’s as her favourite restaurant! We shared this news and picture with George and his response and welcome on our next visit was very genuine and sweet. Our family will keep returning to this special place for decades (and likely generations) to come. Thanks for making the world feel a little more wonderful and cozy, George!
Had order sea food plater was not please with the lobster that I had. Had left half the lobster on plater I am from Cape Breton Nova Scotia I ate a lot of lobster never like this also the salad bar looks good but everybody are handling the utensils no gloves were worn just your bare hands lots of People used them it turn me off the prices went from 48 dollars to 54 dollars for the same plate
I visited on a Monday evening when they had their senior special on which anyone can have even if you're not a senior. The prime rib was delicious and I enjoyed the salad bar . The soup was lovely. My partner had one of the specials and he really enjoyed that. The cheesecake for dessert was very tasty. the prices were excellent. I think I was the youngest person in the restaurants but that won't deter me from going back ????
It was amazing food and was wonderful!! The service was great couldn't have asked for better.!!
Fantastic service, very friendly and awesome food.
Beautiful atmosphere , very good food and the service was second to none. Will be going back soon.
Came in for my Dads birthday on Saturday. Overall, the service was not noteworthy, the atmosphere was very loud (it was hard to hear each other), and the steaks were a major disappointment! The good: lobster tails, soup and bread were excellent. The complimentary cheesecake (for the birthday celebration) was also excellent and a nice touch. The bad: The steaks were mediocre, especially the filets - which are supposed to be the stars of the show! Three of us ordered our filets medium and they came out blue rare. No exaggeration, I worked at a steakhouse for years, I know my steaks. Overall, some of us ended up leaving hungry and leaving food on the plate. I really dread wasting food or sending it back, but honestly - the steak was so awful. And my entire family agreed. Wanted to love golfs, but I don't think we'll be back. Especially with all of the other amazing local restaurants.
We made a reservation for a quiet romantic table for our anniversary. We got anything but that. We were in a room - nowhere near the window and with 2 large tables of 10+people at each table. It was so loud that we could not even carry on a conversation between the 2 of us. That was very disappointing. The food and service was good but the atmosphere was exactly what we were not looking for.
On a whim, I had dinner delivered from Golfs recently and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It really was excellent and way better than the usual casual dining chain places that everyone knows. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in packing up and sealing the delivery which so many places don’t bother with. The chicken with asparagus was fresh and juicy and actually tasted liked restaurant quality food, even after a short delivery journey. Look forward to eating here again when things open up.
A friend and I came here on Saturday night. Seated promptly and everyone we spoke to was very nice, our server (Mario) was great. Started with escargot. It was pretty good, buttery and cheesy. We got salads afterwards, I ordered the garden and my friend got Cesar. Both salads were made with iceberg lettuce and not much else. The lettuce use was too close to the root, making it very bitter. Neither of us finished it. For mains we got a rack of lamb and shrimp with scallops, both having garlic mash potatoes and green beans. Everything was cooked properly but there was basically no seasoning at all. The only thing was a cocktail sauce (I swear was jar) and tartar sauce. We were able to get a garlic sauce made for the rack of lamb which helped. Nothing was really stand out about our meal, will not be returning for the prices they are charging.
Food's very good. Most of the clientele seem to be retirees, but it's worth going for the food.
Always a great meal... Prime Rib was absolutely perfect... Ribs were yummy but a little dry.... Salad bar has nice variety...
Went a Long Time ago with my Fiance and His Daughter at The Time. Food was Superb! And Customer Service was on Point! Highly Recommend this Place if you want a Good Bite to Eat. We went on their Special Price Day.
Food looks and tastes like nobody cares. Dishes are sad and tasteless. Both appetizers and main were served luke warm as opposed to hot. Salad bar did not look fresh or appetizing (but then again what kind of respectable restaurant would have a salad bar to begin with). Atmosphere also lacks any kind of care. This place hasn't been updated in decades and it is painfully obvious from the decor and how worn everything is.
We just had our daughters wedding here. It was flawlessly executed and staff were always willing to help. Food and service were wonderful. Thank you for a perfect evening for our family and guests.
Great place for a celebratory dinner. Prime rib cooked to perfection. Salad bar always a hit.
Nostalgic restaurant with a great view of the river -- spacious, quiet, and with very helpful staff. The food is good, but you wanna save space for the main course -- skip the soup and salad unless you're absolutely starving. Fantastic steak! Not so great Madeira sauce... Overall very good experience!
With family we experienced Sunday Brunch for the first time. Are family truly enjoyed there Sunday Brunch. Fresh salad bar with everything you desire. Full hot buffet filled with plenty of choices. The Golf Steakhouse offers the best Prime Rib in the area and served on there Sunday Brunch so good. Thanks for an awesome food experience we will definitely be back. Excellent top quality selections and awesome friendly owners and staff. Thanks.

We had an excellent dining experience here and will definitely come back some time. We both got stakes, which we very good, and the service was outstanding.
We were here for a group event of about 300 people in the Ball room There were not enough tables and chairs for everyone present so a number of people stood against the walls. It was finger food buffet style including fruits trays, cookies and cake plates, wraps and sandwiches. I tried 4 different sandwiches and wraps. The roasted beef sandwich was terrible: dry and tasteless. The wrap was so so. The chicken sandwich had way too much mayonnaise and the best was the croissant sandwich that included prosciutto and bacon. The carrots cake was excellent but the cookies seem store bought low quality. Coffee was fine but there was no tea. There was no empty tables or dirty dishes carts where we could put plates we no longer needed. There were waitresses picking them up but they were so busy we finally had to bring our dirty dishes to them so we can free up our hands and get new plates for dessert. Overall, it was a so so experience, nothing worth noticing.
Went to golf's last night. Had gone there last year for a Christmas party. This year the food was just ok. The steak while cooked the way I wanted wasn't that great. The baked potatoe came to me cold. I sent it back The salad bar was good. Service was exceptional. But the food in my opinion wasn't that great.
Awesome!! Our server Mariah was fantastic! Food portions were bang on. Would definitely go back.
Excellent food, excellent staff, fair prices for what you get. Wife and I had the garlic shrimp to start (which I highly recommend). And then I had the extra cut of prime rib and my wife had the double lobster dinner. Was excellent, we will be back.

Came out for dinner with my girlfriend this passed Friday for the first time. Was absolutely fantastic, fantastic food fantastic service and just a great atmosphere in general. We definitely will be back in the future. Thanks for the experience.
We were given a gift certificate for this place and decided to try their Sunday brunch. No wait time but it was a bit squishy getting around the buffet. The presentation was excellent and it was absolutely delicious!! Our waitress was very attentive and gave us the history of this original family owned business. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Food was excellent but could not believe that they charged us $3.00 for a small amount of gravy for the fries.

We have been coming here for a few years now. Usually an enjoyable experience but, this year, we decided to go on Valentine's Day. I made my reservation a month in advance and specifically asked for a window seat when the reservation was made. When we got there, the young girl that seated us took us to another spot. She didn't even look at the reservation book so, I told her that we had requested a window seat and she just said, we don't have any right now. I think reserving a month ahead of time should hold our table. It seemed they were just rushing people in and out as quick as possible. Was not impressed with the service we got. Will not think twice about going again.
Jackie was our server this evening. She was great. She was cheery & pleasant and attentive. My rack of lamb was outstanding as usual and that peppercorn sauce!! My friend had the same. Delicious. Ceasar salad was very tasty though lacking bacon. Friends had veggie lasagna which was fantastic & steak which was also thoroughly enjoyed. Garlic mash seemed as it had sat under a hear lamp for a while. The green beans were perfect! Soup tonight was chicken corn chowder. I had a couple of spoonfuls and would not have it again. 1 of 4 of us ate the soup. Restaurant is (always) very clean and the table linens are spotless.
The quality seems to have slipped here. Not the same as it used to be. This was our favorite special occasion restaurant. The service and atmosphere is still good. The food quality today was average. Very heavy on sodium in the frozen vegetables, the soup of the day and in the prime rib gravy. This is dissapointing and rates average.
Had a small wedding there. The staff was super, amazing to deal with and George just went above and beyond to make our day go smooth. The large group menu was well cooked and everyone left pleased. Will be going back with my wife for years to come.
Sunday brunch / lunch buffet was very yummy. Lots of options, constant turnover on food, so it wasn't that stale food often found at buffets. Good desserts. Nice environment for a semi casual family affair. Very kid friendly. The staff was very busy but attentive. Lots of parking too.
Just came home from The Golf Steakhouse. Had to indulge in their amazing Prime Rib. Got it medium and as usual they always seem to get it perfect. The taste is absolutely delightful on the palate. I always am stuffed and have to take some prime rib home. Thanks to their Salad buffet, bread on the table and soup du jour. Service was amazing. Very, VERY polite staff and very good with constantly filling waters and any special needs people request such as lemon slices for waters. Price is decent for amount of food, taste, quality and service. If u are lucky like we were today also the view in the solarium room that overlooks the Grand River. I wish the seafood dishes were a bit less expensive. Also had a crab dinner here once ($40) for a paid Christmas party and it was amazing then. Going back years. Keep up the excellence Golf's. This is how you keep customers. Other places need to take an example from you. Thanks for the amazing service and delicious food!!
Thank you Golf's for an incredible dinner last night! You never disappoint and always deliver great quality food! I highly recommend picking up an order! Ribs, steak, salad and soup were all amazing. Thank you Gus and the team at Golf's!
Took my parents to Golfs Steaks house all of us loved it!!! Food was great, service was top notch! Really loved the atmosphere at Golfs!
My friend and I had the pleasure dining at golf steakhouse on 10 October. We were very pleased with the service. They actually treated us like royalty and made us feel very welcome and that they appreciated our business. This is one of our favourite dining spots. The food and the staff are very friendly. We strongly recommend it.
Their food is really good and quick service and friendly service
A classic steakhouse experience, the food was amazing and the price point is fair for what you get. The service was amazing and we enjoyed the ambiance. Highly recommend. We went for a special occasion (anniversary) and the server casually asked us how many years we'd been together. She then brought us a dessert with "4 years!" spelled out in chocolate syrup. These small touches make all the difference.
Always consistently delicious food and fast and friendly service for all my life I've spent visiting here! We've never been disappointed when we occasionally eat here for a nicer meal. Our only complaint holding back from a perfect five stars is that the food has gotten rather salty over the last couple of years and you can definitely taste it - would be nice to cut back the salt and have it more like it used to be.
Always a great meal! The best prime rib around. The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 star is because I was really cold sitting beside a window.
Enjoyed a great ladies night out last night at Golfs. Our server was Celeste and did an amazing job. Food was good as always. Thank you
We really love to support local. This restaurant ha been around forever but so has the menu. It’s time for a menu update. My suggestion is to make some changes and bring in some new items including new appetizers.
Brunch
very nice patio and great food would recommend.
It was early on Saturday and it appeared that our young server had better places to be as she was not at our table. She told us the specials, she said she would give us time to look over the menu (we had actually decided). So, 15 minutes later she returned, then told us about the salad bar and to help ourselves. We asked for medium prime rib and received well done, she never filled our water glasses, Martha another waitress did that! We sat with our empty plates for at least another 20 minutes before she came by to collect them and ask if we wished for coffee and dessert. The food was delicious and hot, the salad bar very good so other than our inept server, I give the place 4.5 stars!
Recently had my 65th birthday get together in the Solarium. The decor was very welcoming, food was fantastic and our waitresses were prompt, very polite and caring. Would not think of going anywhere else. Thank you to everyone at The Golf Steak House .
My family and I have been coming here for decades, and I can honestly say that they have never let us down. Great food at a reasonable price, with friendly owners that greet you at the door and polite servers that look after. Truly a gem! I can't recommend them enough.
Nice large tent to sit under with view of the river. Staff was great.
Meal type
Take out meal was great! Steaks were cooked to perfection exactly as ordered. Very fast service.
I hosted my birthday party at Golf’s Steakhouse with 24 people, and the staff was absolutely professional and kind with their service!! We are a loud group, and we only sat down while eating, otherwise we were all over the place taking pictures and socializing, but the staff was super sweet with all of their communication! Would absolutely recommend, especially for small party celebrations.
Dinner
Buffet brunch was good. Selection was good. Staff attentive but not annoyingly so.
Super good steak. No griz, cooked perfect medium rare.
Got curbside pickup and was very impressed. We got two prime ribs, the soup of the day (mushroom), and potato and veggies as sides. Everything was well packaged and tasted excellent. They graciously threw in an extra treat as well. Would recommend. Just be sure to aim pickup food 20-30 mins after placing order as the Touch Bistro app never send a text confirming when it was ready. Text was only sent when the order was confirmed.

This is the place in the Region to go to for a prime rib dinner! Your meal includes soup of the day, which is always excellent, AND salad with a generous portion of beef, potato choice and vegetables, all reasonably priced. And you MUST save room for their house made cheesecake!! Beef never anything less than excellent, service impeccable and a great evening always. This has been our go-to for larger family celebrations or intimate date nights.
Not sure where some of these 1 star reviews I read normally eat but I’m glad I ignored them. We came in from out of town and we’re extremely surprised. The staff, service and food were perfect. The atmosphere was pleasing and we had a wonderful view from our window seats. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better the food arrived. The whole meal was generously portioned and was of quality including fresh fruits and vegetables topped off with nice warm bread on the table. We experienced delicious prime rib and lobster tails, scallops and shrimp. We then topped that off with a lite piece of homemade strawberry cheesecake. The final surprise came when it was time to pay. The bill was more than reasonable for what we had just experienced. I’m not sure if the locals really appreciate what a gem they have in this restaurant. We are definitely planning to make this a priority of our future travel to this region.
Been here a few times, this was my first time sober though. The food is well priced and they have some really creative dishes. The server was nice and the restaurant itself was clean. The music was super loud though and I didn't really get the theme, they should work on their play list. Overall it was a really good meal in a very retro designed diner.
Food was amazing as well as the service. Outstanding.
Overly priced and lack of customers this Sunday morning shows. Very surprised at the bill as the price has now creeped up to 28 per person. They haven't changed the menu of the brunch in years not too mention the decor... Food was good but cannot justify spending over 300 to take my family for brunch.
Very disappointed. I have been going there 45 years. Definitely gone down hill. Server was very slow. Food was not hot. Left too long before serving as the meat had rested and all 6 of us ended up with well done. Garlic mashed was overpowered with garlic. Sent the beer back as the glass was very dirty and was charged for both dirty glasses sent back. Disappointing.
Great location for smaller functions and well priced food. Food is always good and great quality!
As always, great food, fantastic service and an amazing view. Thank you for making Father's Day so special for our dad.
My husband and I went out on Saturday Aug 29th and enjoyed a relaxing dinner. Food was great and our waiter Mario was excellent. We both had the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. We have always been satisfied and Golfs is our go to place.
Server was Outstanding.. food was Fabulous. Loved it
Always a great time. Food is outstanding. Staff are some of the best in the industry. Keep it up and we'll keep coming back for more.
This restaurant helped me provide a Turkey dinner for my brother whose wife is in hospital. I live 2 hours away and just kept calling until I found restaurant. He described it as The best Turkey dinner ever.... Thanks from 2 brothers to 2 brothers
Our server Amber was wonderful and the food was fantastic!
Dinner
The service was excellent. Make sure if you order steak, get the Filet Mignon and not the Rib Steak with the bone. The salad bar has many varieties which are all very tasty. We always enjoy our meal and especially the friendly service.
Excellent value. Beyond extraordinary service. Golf steakhouse's creative New Year's Eve dinner made kissing 2020 goodbye extra special and fun!
Your ribs are so good same with the shrimp would recommend its very good!
Fantastic. We dined outside. Beautiful views and delicious food.
Normally we'd only go here for the brunch buffet, but in given times that's not an option we'd consider (if it was available). Dinner was good, I believe everyone ordered steak and some people ordered french onion soup. Both were very good and we enjoyed eating there.
Our Family has been dining at Golfs for over 30 years and we never leave disappointed. I love that it is a family style restaurant but also perfect for date night or girls night. Staff and Managers are friendly , professional and always go above and beyond to make our dining experience enjoyable. We have dealt mostly with Mike and George and have always found them to be down to earth and attentive . A must try is the Reese Peanut Butter dessert however be warned , it is HIGHLY addictive.
Love this place. Steaks are always perfectly cooked. Prime rib is delicious and always a "special feature". Some steaks are the size of your face! Salad bar is a huge plus. The desert tray waved under your knows is a bit underhanded but I haven't been disappointed by my lack of self control. Bailey's cheesecake is the best. The keg is trash by comparison to golf's.
We were looking for a nice place for a celebration dinner and this restaurant was perfect. Not too far away, yet a special place to eat. Roast beef was my choice and my sister chose the pork chop. Both came with daily soup and a full salad bar. I highly recommended this place.
This is our first time here. The food was great and very delicious. Hayley was very attentive, friendly, very polite and even helped me with my food choice. My husband and I would definatey come back.
The beauty of Golf's is it hasn't changed. I get the same terrific experience ever time I go. The same classic food I love and enjoy has been on the menu for 30 years, still as good as it ever was. Always quality, always friendly and always perfect. Best value in dining in the city. Most consistent experience you can have. If you want great food and atmosphere without some current "on trend" gimmick. Golf's is for you. The other steak houses in town are way over priced. Golf's is and always has been spot on.
Went for 60th bday party... A bit pricey... But well worth it !! Food was amazing !!
Have been visiting this place for many years and always has amazing food and the best value for a high end Steakhouse. My extra cut Prime Rib was served rare and delicious. Everything was great as well including the all you can eat salad bar which has always been somewhat of a bonus. Service is always excellent as well. I will definitely be back.
My husband and I attended this evening for his company Christmas dinner, and I can safely say it will probably be the last time I ever willingly attend Golf's Steak House. I hadn't been since I was about nineteen years old, and in terms of decor/atmosphere it hasn't changed a bit. It looks like a place I'd take my parents or grandparents to reminisce about days of the past. If you're into that sort of thing, enjoy. The lighting was dim, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, until you're questioning if your food is cooked properly. Our group had a fixed menu, which was perfectly fine. I was really disappointed with the salad bar. I can't even say what it is that I didn't like, but definitely wasn't worth it. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu with mashed potatoes and gravy. My meal came with a huge portion of beans. My chicken was undercooked, to the point where it almost looked pink. But that may have been the lighting. But it was, you could tell by the texture. And I wasn't the only one who had an undercooked chicken, someone else at my table did too. My mashed potatoes were stiff and tasted old. The gravy was tasteless and lumpy. My husband had the Striploin. He said it was okay, there was nothing special about it, but no real complaint. He also visited the salad bar and found it lacking, with an abundance of pasta salads. The servers were friendly, and they did have the chickens remade. My potatoes the second time around were better. The Strawberry Daiquiri was amazing. Overall not a great experience and not what I expected. Golf's Steak House used to be the place to go, and I honestly don't know why.
Have only gone for the brunch myself at this point, but have never heard a bad thing otherwise. Brunch was great and the staff and atmosphere was cozy and friendly. The food was great and the price was very efficient. Highly recommend.
Went to Golf's for Thanksgiving dinner. Great service. Very attentive. Delicious dinner with enough left over to take home and make a great hot Turkey sandwich.
Wow wonderful food Prime Rib roast beef from Heaven, great service, in a beautiful setting our looking the Grand River 5 stars ⭐️ Mark Warsh
Great prices. I was expecting it to be pricier, but, was surprised that it was within range for most people. We reserved the night before Valentine's day rush and it was pleasantly quiet and enjoyable. You get Garlic bread basket, salad bar, soup of the day, choice of rice/potatoes with your entre. Comfort food type place. Waiter was on top of everything all night. Only drawback was that I ordered a cappacino, but, it tasted more like a latte. Not sure if I will order that again. I would come back another time.
Great time. Super meal. Looked after my Celiac gluten free needs, for appetizers, main meal and DESSERT.
Excellent meal prime rib done to perfection, my wife's rack of lamb was superb....shout out to our waiter Andy very attentive with knowledge of the menu .....I'll be back and soon ????
We were celebrating a 70th Birthday and the whole experience was excellent. Everone's meals were delicious, the service was fantastic and being outside under their tent on a beautiful day was lovely. Definitely recommend and we will be back!
Very delicious food. Wasn't a huge fan of the mashed potatoes but overall it was great!
This place is incredible! The food is top notch and delicious and the service is amazing and friendly. Decor is getting dated and worn, but the view of the Grand River, the service and the food is well worth it. Most recently my hubby and I enjoy the Sunday Brunch and we left overstuffed and I didn't even get to everything I wanted to try! Highly recommend going here!
I was here for a wedding. The food was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are booking an event I would recommend this place! The hall was very clean, bathrooms were clean and they cleaned them threw out the evening. I even had a went in to the kitchen to ask for something and it was very clean in the kitchen as well! A+ on all accounts.

Had read and heard great things about this restaurant and so was very surprised by my dining experience last night. The two things most people comment on - the prime rib and salad bar - were both mediocre, largely because the food lacks flavour. The view of the Grand River is nice, if you can get a table in the sun room, but the decor is dated and the menu lacks the kind of flourishes one associates with a decent steakhouse. It was busy, too, and the service was slow. I just can't understand why people rave about this place.
An amazing brunch at this classy place. Plenty of great tasting selections including roast beef, chicken, beef ribs (so tender!) And more made for an amazing birthday brunch for my mom. Great staff working the hostess station, serving our table and serving at the buffet! A delicious experience! Did I mention the desserts??? So good!
Salad bar was so good, but of course no salad bar. Had chicken Kiev and it was crispy on outside and dry inside. Used to be a good place to eat. Won't go back until restrictions are lifted.

Had several meals prior and just got married at Golfs! To bad 50 stars is not an option because 5 star is an understatement. The food and staff are top notch! Best prime rib in Ontario hands down! If your looking for a great meal, friendly staff and atmosphere, as well as a beautiful view of the river, Golf's steakhouse is the place to be!
Gulf's is my favourite restaurant in KW. It isn't truing to be hip or on trend. Rather it does what it does and does it very well. Great food, great atmosphere, lovely view of the river. The service is always great. During lockdown it has become our go to fortnightly takeaway dinner. We have never been disappointed. The food is still awesome as is the service and care to make sure everyone gets their food safely. I love this place!
Dinner was decent! 1 had salmon, 1 had chicken the rest of us had various steaks. Nice chairs and atmosphere; food was what you expected. Not fancy, potatoes and steaks werent as flavorful as we'd hoped, but it was still good! :) great service. Will return again
we had the valentines dinner. Got it curbside and it was wonderful and very filling. always enjoy eating at or from the Golf Steakhouse for whatever occasion.
We came on a Saturdsy evening right at opening for our grandmother's birthday. The only reason that there is one star is because the service we got was decent. My husband got prime rib with rice as his side. I got a rib steak with garlic mash as mine. The meat was satisfactory but the sides are what ruined the entire meal. My husband's rice was clearly not made fresh. It was just a reheated mess with lots of over cooked crispy pieces. The worst, was my garlic mash. It tasted and looked liked next day mashed potatoes. They 100% were not made fresh, but rather scooped out of somewhere and reheated in the microwave. They were inedible. Being the first customers of the evening, and served such terrible sides really shows that they do not make their food fresh. Also, a restaurant with prices this high should never serve bread with margarine. It was not butter. Another individual in our party ordered chicken that was served completely raw on the inside. On top of everything, the price they charge for the kids meals is insane $15-20 is unheard of at any restaurant, especially one that serves such terrible quality food. Avoid this restaurant who's high prices do not reflect the quality of food they serve. Next time I want to spend $150 on a meal, we plan on going somewhere that serves fresh food l. There are many good options in town, this is not one of them.
Perfect service and excellent food!
My husband and I went for dinner at Golf's Steak House this evening and it was fantastic !!!! Seated right away in the Atrium, our server Jasmine was quick to come introduce herself, bring water and take our drink order. We decided on food and placed our order. We had Escargot to start which was great. Then Chateaubriand for two. It was amazing. Being cut and served at the table was a great touch. Jasmine told us this was the first time she was serving it and she did a great job !!!! 10 + I don't think I have ever had such tender meat, definately not in any restaurant. Cheese cake and Bailey's cake with coffee and tea finished off the evening. We were not rushed, it was a wonderful meal all round and we will be coming back for sure. Hats off to the chef and a special thanks to Jasmine, our server, she is great at her job and made our night even more memorable!!!
This is one of the best restaurants that you will ever go to! The food, service, staff and Atmosphere is excellent! Anyone who says otherwise, are either way too picky, or are used to high end restaurants that charge fees that are so overpriced for the average person to appreciate! I give them a 6 out of 5 stars! I have been going there for more than 30 years and I have never experienced a problem or bad time! Keep up the the excellent service Golf Steakhouse...You Rock!!!
What an amazing Valentine's dinner!! Chateaubriand for two as a take out meal... who knew it could be so spectacular :) It was executed perfectly at the restaurant and our meal was absolutely awesome. Easily our best take home meal of the last year. Thank you so much !
This is a very nice 60's style steakhouse full of people who appear to be original patrons. So, that makes for a quiet relaxed dining experience. Our server Mackenzie, was wonderful and cheerful and helped to make our outing pleasurable. The food is great and I'd highly recommend a visit.
Dinner date with my wife and we are very satisfied with the food and service. I ordered the seafood platter ( lobster tail is way bigger than Blackshop)and my wife ordered the chicken cordon bleu and they"re both delicious :) Not a lot of choices on beer. Just the usual mass-produced beers :( I hope Golfs start offering Ontario craft beers (Cam . Mill has been serving craft beer 4 -5 years ago) Overall experience is very positive. Are we going back back? ABSOLUTELY :) - and we are bringing our kids.
My favourite steakhouse in KW!! Was lucky enough to get a spot before the current lockdown. The food, service, and atmosphere was amazing as always. Out server was so great and accommodating. The BEST value for money with the most delicious food. Couldn't believe that soup and salad were included in our meal for the price. We were celebrating an anniversary and received an amazing complimentary cheesecake at the end of our meal. Order: Steak and Salmon with some cocktails and wine. Our check was just over $100 which is so great for any steakhouse with top notch food and service. HIGHLY recommend!! Can't wait to dine in after lockdown!
Warm, welcoming, effective service, excellent food, generous portions. Lots of parking; elevator for mobility challenged. Not inexpensive but, in my view, fair for the quality, service, and ambiance.
Just had their valentine takeout special and it was excellent and still hot when we got home. This was the second order from Golf Steakhouse and they were both great..I highly recommend you try them
Ordered the Valentines 5 course special and it was outstanding. Their curb side pickup process was very well executed and all the items travelled very well. The steak was cooked to perfection! Couldn't have asked for a better meal. My family and I have been Golf’s customers for many years, they’re always consistent and always provide a great meal with wonderful service.
Absolutely amazing dinner experience, went out here for my anniversary dinner with my partner and everything was phenomenal. Steak was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic, and the bruschetta was some of the best I had. Server was diligent without being overbearing which was perfect. All in all the price was very reasonable as well. Such a nice evening.
It’s a good place to go eat but it is not perfect! It’s pretty old style and I think a fresh look would make costumers feel better! They do not have a large selection at the buffet but the food is cooked nice and it’s tasteful! And they have a few nice desserts to choose from which taste good! Overall I think this place is very overpriced for what they offer. And what really hit me was the brunch price for kids, $14 for a 4 year old?! ????????♀️ Not going back there unless they drop their prices!
I never leave bad reviews but this was such a terrible experience and I work in customer service. Steaks were rare instead of well done, rice was not cooked at all, lobster was way overcooked. We made a complaint and barely touched anything on our plates then got accused by a staff member of trying to get money when we never asked for a refund or compensation we just wanted to let them know in case anyone else was offering the same thing. One of the owners argued with us rather than saying "Oh sorry about that we'll try to do better next time." And all he had to say for himself was "Well maybe you shouldn't have ate it then," (referring to our BARELY touched plates) "Well it past our quality check." A RARE STEAK got passed for a WELL DONE STEAK. We never usually complain but this was ridiculous. You can't claim to take responsibility for mistakes then say a customers wrong and make up excuses in the same sentence. $45 a plate and they couldn't even do the rice properly or treat us with any respect.
Amazing taste, good portions and all cooked to perfection. Gluten free dinner delivered to my door hot, fresh and mouth watering.
The waitress was very polite and service was fast. The Chicken Parmesan I got was easily the best I ever had. For $22.00 the price was decent and the home-fry and onion mix as a side was delicious.
Wow where to start with this review. I typically don't give poor reviews or even fair reviews unless the service or product really sticks out. In this case, our server was fantastic. However, the food was sub par. The bread was served with 'butter' that was actually margarine. They were 100% certain it was butter. We only confirmed as whipped margarine after I stated I had an allergy to it and they confirmed with the kitchen that they just switched over to margarine. I had ordered a rib steak - medium rare. What arrived had no trace of colour. The manager had told me that I wasn't cutting into the thicker area (note: steaks should be uniform in cut) and when I cut the entire steak up he apologized and said he could bring out a new one but it would take a while. I opted for the prime rib instead. The frustrating part besides the bland string beans and 'scoop' of mashed potatoes (it's not ice cream guys) is that they charged us for the rib steak ($34) vs the prime rib ($28) when I sent the entire steak back. My friend had a burnt schnitzel (not sure how long it was under a heat lamp) and the seafood platter was underwhelming. Incredible view, but not worth the price of admission.
This place scream a past of quality that has faded and lost relevance. Quality dining evolves and improves. This place seems to have stayed the same and cut costs on its menu in ways that are not consistent with the upscale pricing. The dining room feels awkward and seems to have too many staff that are idle. The salad bar further cheapens this overall experience. On a positive note the core elements of the food is good quality although it suffers from frozen sides and mediocre flavours.
Always fantastic service and food. We always enjoy a great meal that is well worth the cost. Do not waste your time at The Keg or other steakhouses, Golf's is amazing value for money.
Dinner
A very beautiful, traditional restaurant with good food and great service. One room has a bank of windows overlooking the river. Great view. Salad bar, soup, and garlic bread included with the meal. Prices are good. Monday night is seniors special, although anyone can other from this menu. A slightly smaller portion at a reduced price, but includes a full sized desert. Excellent value. Very busy .I recommend reservations.

Always a pleasure to visit Golfs. Our server last night was Chelsea and she was fun and very attentive. Our meal was great and the salad bar is always a treat. Keep up the great work!
Gus was absolutely fantastic to deal with. With the passing of my grandpa last week, we had to find a venue quickly to host a "Celebration of Life". Gus was very prompt at responding back to us, was flexible, and very accommodating. The food we had was superb, all our guests enjoyed it and kept coming back for seconds! Thank you Gus and Golf's Steak House staff for making the Celebration of Life so special for our grandpa.
Nice enough but could do with a referb. We were there for brunch and while the staff was excellent the food was just ok. Nothing was bad but nothing was exceptional. The decor is from the early 80s and is getting shabby in places. The whole restaurant is best described as "fine" The view of the river is still spectacular. Get seated in the atrium if you can. This place has a reputation for being amazing back in the day, and that was back in the day. Now it shows it's age and seems to be the place that was great and is now fine, I guess.
Seems to be a hit and miss here. Our service was great but the food was off. My wife ordered medium rare prime rib but it was well done. The chicken and ribs were ok at best, but the chicken was dry and nothing special as were the ribs. Plus we were very cold and had to keep our jackets on. The salad bar and soup of the day were good, but for a somewhat pricey restaurant, I don't think we'll be returning soon.
Great food and our server made the experience perfect. I wish I remembered her name.
Went here for my dad's birthday. Had a fantastic time. Service was excellent and very attentive. The food, amazing. We had the prime rib and it is the must have food here. Fabulous piece of meat and the best around. Food was great, finished off by complimentary dessert for dad which was a nice treat! Love it here! One of the best and had been around forever!
Ordered Golf's as a treat for our mom on Mother's Day - the food was absolutely spectacular, as was the service. And best of all, it really put a smile on her face. Would order dinner from here again in a heartbeat!
Dinner
No wedding for us here I guess. We called a week before and made an appointment for 6pm on a Thursday(Today). This was based on their availability. We arrived and met with the person taking reservations as instructed, in which we were surprised to find out that he had no idea that we were coming. He explained to us that he didn't know why anyone would book us to come in at that time and that he couldnt really leave his post. He reluctantly gave is a pamphlet and told him to meet him downstairs. We waited outside for 5 minutes when a different person came out to show us the larger ballroom. We explained that we only had 100 people and came to see the smaller one. This is when he said that there was another function going on, but took us in to see it anyway!? Very awkward. We stood there uncomfortably for about 2 minutes and couldn't be there anymore. I read all these reviews about how amazing it is there, but this was by far the most unprofessional experience we have encountered so far. No introduction, no planning, no explanation, didn't listen and rushed us. Well I for one will take our 20k elsewhere, who will actually help us plan our special day instead of treating us like an inconvenience.
Reliably good food and atmosphere for ???? families
Tonight my husband and I had a lovely meal and excellent table service by Vanetzia (sp). The food was flavourful and the Manager very attentive. My husband had the rack of lamb and I enjoyed the shrimp and scallops. Thank you! We will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
Great atmosphere and staff. Food is well prepared and flavourful. The menu is diverse, but you cannot go wrong with a great steak.
That waitress by the name of either andre or Andrew is fantastic i just love his customers service the best i ever come across, keep it up i really appreciate it stay safe my group love you very much.
Steaks were rare instead of medium rare. Some dirt grit in the asparagus with the rib steak dinner. Food was hot and tasty, but better care with washing vegetables was needed. Tons of food though!
Extremely friendly and very good food. Nice location on the river with a nice view. Recommended for a nice date.
What a great night of awesome food, drinks and conversation with dear friends. Golf's is a classic steakhouse with delicious food and excellent service.
Visited for brunch the Sunday after mothers day, in an effort to avoid the holiday crowd. Enjoyed coffee and a mimosa. (Highly recommend) The food was delicious and fresh. Staff were constantly replacing dishes and the carving station was always staffed. The service was surprisingly good and I was astonished by the attention to detail, even by some of the younger staff. It was my first time in the dining room (been for banquets) and I would absolutely return. Highly recommend. Excellent value for money, and the price is appropriate for any weekend, not just special occasions.
A beautiful location and well taken care of. My wife, daughter and myself were told we should try this restaurant. Drinks for the most part were very good except the Cristo. It did not have sugar around the rim and seemed to be devoid of any type of alcohol. The prime rib was excellent however the green beans tasteless. The lobster was large and good as were the crab legs, but the garlic butter did not seem to have any garlic and looked and tasted like margarine rather than butter. The rice was not to my wife's taste. The garlic mashed potato had no taste of garlic and was disappointing. The Escargot was tasteless and was devoid of any type of spice and served without mushroom caps. We all agreed we would not be returning to this restaurant. Sorry
Great place to eat . But I will no longer support this buisness because they refuse to stand up to the passport mandate and fight for their customers. Please join me in boycotting this place till they stand up to the government and stop this garbage.
Hideous decor, dusty carpets, soups too salty, salad had so much dressing on it that you couldn’t taste anything else. Steak was disappointing to say the least, tasted like an old shoe.... Never go there!
The food was excellent and the service. We have celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at Golf's Steak House for 12 years. This year # 48.
Tonight we did curb side pick up. The experience was first class. I arrived 10 mins early and parked while waiting, a server came over to the car and asked for my details and then proceeded with tap payment. I was then directed to the line, only 2 other cars ahead. I was totally impressed that within moments a staff member came out with our food ready to go. I was on my way home just like that! We had prime rib with garlic mashed. Also came with soup and salad. We ordered a cheese cake too. Everything was outstanding, we highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our Valentines dinner special ????
I've been to Golf's Steakhouse for events multiple times over the years, and even experienced Sunday brunch. Tonight was the first night I went out for dinner with my boyfriend for date night and everything was fantastic. Nicole was our server and she was on top of everything to ensure my boyfriend and I enjoyed our experience. The food was great (compliments to the kitchen staff) and the overall environment deserves more than 5 stars. I would also like to add that our bill was very reasonably priced (and we ordered a lot from appetizers to desserts) Will definately come back for dinner in the near future!
This place is classic. Good food at a good price, you can't beat it. The prime rib is juicy and comes off rare if you want. Soup and salad is complimentary and it's fresh. I've been going to this place for years.
Service
Beautiful space for outdoor dining! Service was quick and efficient and the food was excellent.
The front of house staff have gone the extra distance to offer a safe, comfortable dining experience. The food is the big let down. Even on a reduced menu, the kitchen produced meals that smacked of 80s prefab quality.
We just had the Valentine's Special. It was excellent! The chateaubriand, veggies and potatoes were done superbly! The caesar salad was excellent as was the soup and cake. The ravioli was a little dry, but maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Overall 5 star!
We attended brunch this past weekend, the food and service was top notch, this was only Golf’s 3rd brunch since protocols were relaxed to allow brunching, this was our first buffet style dining in nearly two years… Golf’s has a good system, lots of single direction paths, most of the guests were allowing good space between parties. Back to the food the roast beef was perfectly done, nice and rare, the horseradish made my eyes water (two thumbs up for that), if you can’t picture a buffet, because it has been so long, Golf’s had a nice salad bar with lots of options, bread and rolls, chicken, rice, home fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, French toast and ham. Juice and coffee is included (maybe consider a milk substitute (oat, almond or soy) not everyone was able to enjoy a coffee at brunch… otherwise I would recommend it, there is lots of parking.
My son and new daughter had their wedding here. What an amazing place!! Food was phenomenal and the service impeccable!! A toast to all who made the day perfect, thank you!!
Golfs is known for thier Prime Rib. The best anywhere. But I tried some Seafood and was blown away by how good and generous it was. The cheesecake is to die for. We will make this a regular Dine out .
Food was plain but was cooked right. Quick service, very friendly. Great environment. There is a tent over you - so you're sheltered if it rains ????
The beginning and end (garlic bread and coffee) were very good, but everything in between was a disappointment. The scallop appetizer was over cooked and a bit fishy. The "Caesars salad" was just wrong. Instead of a creamy garlicky dressing it was dressed with oil and vinegar, like you would get on a house salad at a poor Greek or Italian restaurant. Also very stingy with bacon, croutons and parmasan. We pointed out that this was not a Caesar, but the waiter insisted they make their own dressing in house. Too bad they don't have a recipe for Caesar dressing. My wife's pan seared halibut was covered with a soggy breading. My steak was under cooked, asked for medium. My first cut looked borderline medium but as I proceeded it was more obviously medium-rare. By then I didn't feel like asking to have it refired. The scoop of garlic mash had no flavor and an odd course texture. I know this place has a good reputation, but on this night we were unimpressed.
Always nice food. Service was a bit rushed tonight. Not sure what the hurry was. Great place for family and friends.
Food was amazing and the service was even better. Our waitress, Jacklynn went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. Will definitely be going back and requesting her again. ????????
Great place, with amazing food with affordable pricing.
We celebrated my husband's 66th birthday tonight and so amazing. From the wait staff to the food to the ambiance. We had 2 young grandchildren with us but the staff we so attentive to them. We were allowed to bring our own cake which they gladly served for us and even offered to take a family photo.
This place is great I go there with my friends all the time, the service is great, every person is nice, highly recomend
My family got sick from the breaded fish on the Sunday brunch. Everything else was good. Decent salad bar, creme brulee was fine. Server left my coffee cup dry often.
Just had curb side (Jan 1, 2021). Best take out meal my family has enjoyed in over a year. Meal was prepared as requested, portions great. Will go back. Thanks!!
Great space to photograph weddings! Staff are amazing and food is delicious. Highly recommend.

Great food, great service but even better customer service. We went there on Jan 2, 2022 for a celebration dinner. We did have a problem with the Charbroiled chicken. The server was very quick to make it right and did so without having to asked. We sincerely appreciated it very much. We have never had a poor experience prior to this. Just seeing the high level of customer service to correct an issue reinforces our decision to continue to go to the Golfs for special meals and any other time. Thank you!
I got married at Golf Steak House two years ago and my friends and family are still talking about how amazing the food and service was! My Mom only likes pop in a can and had asked one of the waitresses if they had any at my reception. The waitress had stated they only had fountain pop but she would see what she could do! Ten minutes later she came back with two cans of pop for my Mom! She had walked to the convience store across the street to accommodate her! I couldn't believe she would do that it was defiantly above and beyond and made my Mom's night and in turn mine! We went there for our first anniversary and again the food and service was so amazing! Tonight we just shared our second anniversary there! We ordered the seafood platter and the shrimp and scallops. Both dishes tasted amazing and our waitress was so kind. She surprised us at the end of the meal with cheesecake and in chocolate they had written a thoughtful message because she knew it was our anniversary. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere! We overlooked the river and it was such a beautiful view! George the owner, and all his staff always go above and beyond for their guests and it is very evident!
Awesome as always!! Every dish our group ordered was amazing! Staff from check-in, hosting and waiting were ALL very friendly, knowledgeable and very personable! Deserves more tha 5 stars!
Food and service excellent! Look in the back of the menu for smaller portions.
Dinner
My wife and I went there on the weekend and ordered the prime rib and the rib eye steaks. It was one of the best I have ever had! We'll be back for sure!
Go here every year for our anniversary. Love it here. Sometimes we'll jist show up for coffee and their amazing cheese cake!
Great service, friendly staff. The escargot tasted great, steak was cooked perfectly the only complaint we had was the lobster was overcooked resulting in a tough and bland tail, I would still definitely recommend the golf steakhouse to others.
Just had Sunday Brunch, WOW. The beef was amazing. Med rare. Mmmmmm awesome selection of savory and sweet. Had a reservation. Staff always paid attention to our table. When we were done with a plate it was quickly removed, our water and coffee was always topped up and the staff was also very polite. Hot table and trays were never low on food. Great attention to the little details. Will be going back for sure.
We went for supper tonight. Our waitress, I think her name was Rachel, was the best waitress I have ever had! As well as the host. He was great too. Food was amazing!! Can not wait to go back!
Had a wonderful 21st anniversary dinner, food was terrific. My wife had the prime rib, and it did not disappoint. I had the rib steak, and it was cooked perfectly. Paired with the twice baked potato, and some Caesar salad. Couple beers and some wine, and the bill was still under $100. Great value. And the service was stellar! Very attentive, friendly, and right on time. (Thank you Jennifer!!! )
Meal type
Great food and service! Would highly recommend:)
My wife and I both had baked scallops and shrimp which we really enjoyed. Very good garlic bread which came with the meal and the rest of the meal was great too. We didn’t have dessert. Too full from what we had. Excellent service by Holly our waitress and the rest of the staff. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone that hasn’t been there before. ????
Made reservation, had a lovely table, food was great and a good variety. The scrambled eggs could use a little flavour and moisture, but everything else was lovely. Great staff too!
Scallops and lobster had absolutely no taste. Halibut is very dry. And do you really have to send a strawberry daiquiri back to the bar because it tastes like water and strawberry syrup? Service was okay, but this definitely is not fine dining
Service
Salad bar is awesome, but steaks are consistently under seasoned or not seasoned at all. Quality of the food is disappointing along with the dated aesthetic.
The food was phenomenal! Our waitress, Martha, was spectacular! Couldn't have asked for a better anniversary meal. Ambiance, food, service and view was wonderful!
Thank you to the team for preparing such a wonderful Mother's Day meal of potato leek soup, caesar salad, prime rib, choice of potato, asparagus, and complimentary cherry cheesecake! Every course was delicious and the servings were generous. We hope that we can enjoy this again on Father's Day.
Amazing service. Incredible food. Such a great date night for us. Thank you!
The staff are pleasant and friendly, but only some of the food is worth trying. Only a few of the desserts are actually made in house, the rest seem to be store bought. The decor is outdated and boring, and the salad bar and dessert presentation are even more outdated. The view is nice, and the rack of lamb is always good, but I don't stray too far from that whenever I go here with my parents. If you're 30 or under, you can expect to be the only person in your age range there. Most of the clientele when I've gone have been ~50+, if that gives any idea of what the general atmosphere and menu selections are like.
It was a lovely date with my wife. The waitress was attentive and the food was well prepared. Gulf's is a restaurant you should go when visiting the Waterloo Region.
It was okay. The garlic bread to start was delicious, the salad was good. Bruschetta was nothing special. The mashed potatoes weren't eatable at all. Steak was okay, but def overcooked, lacked flavor. The asparagus was cooked perfect. The outdoor tent was so nice and the view was great. Service was extremely slow. Lots of other great steak places in town so we won't be going back.
Always fantastic. We frequently go ever since our wedding there. Great food, great view and always great service to ensure complete satisfaction. I have dealt with George for years and he always takes care of us.
Great service, great atmosphere and great food, not sure how it can get any better! I got the filet mignon, the starters that come with the meal were plenty, delicious and fresh. Their bread with whipped butter was great too!
Tasty food. Great service. Classy atmosphere. Steak is on point. Vegetarian lasagna was amazing. Drinks have great presentation. Curtains had water stains. Decor is aging, the carpet and other aspects felt like a time warp and not in a good way. Overall, great experience just needs a facelift in a few spots.
Decor is a bit dated, but the food here is reasonably priced with great portions. You definitely feel like you got your moneys worth when you're done. Be prepared to have a good sleep after coming here!
Amazing food.. Got the lamb and it is phenomenal but some parts a little overdone. Wife got steak that you could cut with a spoon. Strongly suggest reservations as it does get busy.
Always a great meal. Never disappointed. I've been coming to this place for over twenty years.
We had a group of 8 at 4 PM 2 of us ordered prime rib 14 oz --they were full of sinew and tough. The most disgusting prime rib I have ever had. I did not complain as we were guests of my cousin from California. . Issue resolved and much appreciated. Thanks for the quick response!
The service and atmosphere are great. Food is delicious and plentiful. Sadly our steaks were both underdone but staff did their best to rectify it. Management was gracious and gave us coffee and dessert at no charge. We'll be back!
We had lovely service our servers name was Amy she was very friendly. I would recommend asking for her to sit in her section. The food was amazing just look at the pictures.
Was looking forward to this dinner, as it was an anniversary celebration for my parents. The service was outstanding and the restaurant was clean and bright, but overall the food was underwhelming. I had a chicken and rib platter which while cooked well seemed underseasoned and bland.
Absolute great value steakhouse. Salad bar has nice selection aswell which is a great bonus. I ordered the extra cut prime rib and was suprised about how large the portion was. Unfortunately came out very dry when requested medium but was promptly fixed with my sides completely topped up free of charge!
Restraint is dated. Food was sub par for price. Service was excellent though the over cooked meats. Stale deserts made day before and left in fridge. It would be fine if it was 20$ per person. But looking at 50+ per person for a cost of chicken and mash potatoes. Cheese cake and wine. It's not worth it. Plus it need some interior refreshing. Sorry to leave a not so kind review but we all need to know where we go wrong to fix it.
The food was good but there was a huge wait between the soup and the main entree. My brother didn't like steak. I found my mix seafood platter to be tasty.
My husband and I were in a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary. It was our first time, from Hamilton. The atmosphere was elegant, the service amazing, and the food was divine. The staff worked very well together. Our server Melanie was a delight! Her energetic and beaming service really topped the evening off.
Wonderful...the food and service was just great.
We are so happy to have been able to dine out at our favourite place for our Anniversary. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Following covid guidelines Golfs has done an excellent job.
It was fantastic as always. We were there for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and they were treated amazingly.
I apologize in advance for the length of this review but it's all relevant and worth the read. Sooo...this is unfortunately not going to be a good review which I never leave but our experience was so surprisingly bad that it needed to be shared. We've been here several times before and it was always so good, which is why we chose to go, but after tonight we can say this will unfortunately be out last visit here. I'll just get right to it. We ordered two prime rib dinners and a kids burger meal for our toddler. My husband order two coffees throughout dinner, one of which never came and the other one didn't come with the creamer he requested until 10 min. later so the coffee was cold. Adding in the cold creamer, it's now an iced coffee. The service was so slow. Surprising, as there weren't that many people dining there. The prime rib came with zero seasoning (super bland), without au jus and a side previously frozen over boiled veggies (now mush). It reminded me of the old school dinner you'd see served at a Zellers restaurant for those of us who remember what a Zellers was. Lol Our toddlers burger was also previously frozen (you can tell the difference in flavour), charred, and without toppings. So it arrived without the basics, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, etc. and we weren't asked if we wanted any either so we just received a patty with the bun and fries. I get it, it's a kids meal, so I guess we shouldn't expect good quality right? Well, sorry, I don't agree. Especially if you're paying so much for it. If we went to a fast food restaurant and we got this burger, I'd still think it was gross but you kind of expect a certain quality there, but not at Golf's, you'd expect better there. We brought all of this to the attention of the manager who came to the table to justify the poor quality due to it being Labour Day and them not receiving a shipment of fresh produce which explains the frozen veggies and lack of burger toppings. I think the solution to that is to let your customers know that you're missing a certain quality for the evening so they can choose something else on the menu instead of sneaking in the lesser quality you do have. He even went as far as saying that the customers preferred the frozen patties because the real ground beef patties they made were too big for their kids and customers complained. A dishonest answer as you can easily make a smaller, thinner ground beef patty. We took one bite and we sent the whole plate back and still got charged for it. We were offered complimentary dessert which was a nice offer but after a disappointing dinner that was not something we wanted. We had to really present our case in order for them to take the cost of the burger off and we kindly paid for the rest. Full disclosure, we paid just shy of $100 for 3 almost full plates of food sent back. We completely understand how hard restaurants were hit during covid which is why we paid, minus that horrible burger, but we were really looking forward to going out to enjoy a nice meal at what our city would consider a really high quality place to go. Sadly, it was really a let down experience and I won't be recommending it to anyone or go there again.
Food was good. The building seems to need done updates. Staff was very attentive
I've been here many times over the last 8-10 years, and the food is as great as it is consistent. This time, I got the lamb, and it was cooked perfectly. No mint jelly garbage here; it's served with a peppercorn sauce that's absolutely delicious. The other members of my party loved their food just as much. It's a little bit more expensive than other places, but it's a nice building in a great location, and the service is always attentive and friendly. If you're looking for a family-friendly place with a great menu, this is definitely worth checking out!
Service has always been good and food was tasty.
Great food, outdoor has beautiful view of the grand river
Dine in
Went for brunch with siblings. Wanted a good quality steak. Since it was a Sunday we only were able to have the buffet brunch. So disappointed that we were not allowed to order off the menu. Been to many restaurants that offered both. Disappointed that there was no option other than the buffet. Not a big buffet fan. Also buffet with roast beef but no mashed potatoes or gravy.
An excellent take out last night. Our food was prepared exactly as we ordered. I know our family will be ordering again.
We were there celebrating our Christmas gathering for brunch eirh my staff and we were very disappointed on how rushed we felt by the staff when picking up our dishes and cashing us out it's like they were in a hurry to clear the table to set up for their dinner time I'm not sure. We chose that place because of its reputation and past experiences but unfortunately I must say that we were not impressed not just myself but also my staff
Not happy. I know this is the first time we've all been out and I know we including servers and kitchen staff are rusty that is to be expected. Atmosphere was excellent and staff was wonderful! I am from the east coast so for me to judge the sea food would be normal. I had the scallops they were rancid and bad. I had the lobster also not fresh and tasted fishy. did not enjoy the caesar salad tasted like thousand island dressing. Then had a $40 glass of Lagavulin that was very very warm. also most Hot. Ruined the flavor profile, uncomfortably so. The bread was amazing and the champagne was good! Don't recommend for seafood and won't be back. Feeling very sick now to validate my concern with the fishy food.
We held our wedding here. The whole experience was great. Everything went smoothly and the experience turned out better than we expected thanks to the Golf's staff. The venue looked fantastic and the staff went above and beyond to assist with every step. The food was great too. The rental price was also very reasonable.
Had a very nice meal, the staff (waitress and maitre de) were very attentive and understanding, atmosphere was very nice, unfortunately the piece of prime rib that I was served was not good and my wife's fish was a little dry (but still delicious) my steak was quickly replaced. It was a shame that my wife and I then were then eating out of sync, but we took our time and enjoyed the experience, they offered some wonderful deserts on the house, this is a restaurant that cares about their customers, and we were impressed - we are looking forward to our next visit!
Read a lot of both positive and negative reviews before going and tried to keep an open mind. I found that my experience was consistent with a lot of previous reviews so I'll summarize my experience and how they compare to other reviews. The decor was fancy but dated. My partner and I both ordered the Filet Mignon, which came with cooked vegetables and fries. The steak was under cooked (we asked for medium-rare and it was definitely rare) but very well seasoned and delicious overall. Some of the fries were rock hard and inedible, but others were pretty good. The vegetables on the other hand were extremely disappointing. It came with cooked beans and cooked baby carrots. The beans were overcooked, dried out, and flavourless - I didn't even know it was possible to cook beans so poorly, they tasted like they were frozen and were sitting in water all day (yet oddly some were dried out). I was surprised that a place this fancy would serve cooked baby carrots. The vegetable portion overall was terrible and I could have easily done better at home in 5 minutes. The dish overall however was good, but definitely not worth $35 (I'd put it at about $20). In total we ordered 2 drinks, a calamari appetizer (also tasted like it was frozen but was decent considering) 2 filet mignon and 2 slices of cake. In total came to $140 (including 15% tip). Considering what we got and what we paid for, I would say it was definitely not worth it. I think this place could be a lot better if more care was put into the food as well as general cleanliness. ADVICE FOR PEOPLE GOING TO THIS PLACE: This is the kind of place I'd recommend when taking your grandparents out. I would not recommend this place if you are a young adult who likes modern places where you can get good value for your money. I would consider ordering your steak one step more cooked than you normally get it (my experience was consistent with many others that had their steak under cooked). Stay away from their cooked vegetables - they will disappoint (also consistent with multiple online reviews). Overall you will get good service, but not exceptional (especially considering the high price point).
We attended Golf's Tuesday night to celebrate our end of season banquet, this was the third year that we have done so (but have not been since 2019). We had a group of 20, and the restaurant set us up with our own little private room and a set menu with ample choices for our group. The service, food quality, portions and overall experience was 5-star, several of us in attendance remarked what excellent value this place is vs other chain restaurants that would be very similar from a price stand-point. Thank you to the staff at Golf's for making our Varsity Softball dinner a great experience. We will be back next season for sure!
Sunday Brunch - A Great Value For Money. My wife and came here to celebrate valentine's day and it was a great experience. The brunch was better than she and I were expecting. Starting off, the food was very good. There was a salad bar, a dessert station, meat carving station and an assortments meats, vegetables, and other breakfast items. For $25-30 bucks, by the water, with great tasting food, lots of options, and with great service, you really can't go wrong. Speaking of service, the servers and staff were all very good. They were very attentive, professional and dedicated. It's really hard to get great customer service these days and I was appreciative of the extent they went to make our time there pleasant. Overall it was a great time out for brunch and we will definitely be going again.
Celebrated Dad's 98th birthday at the restaurant. Prime rib done just the way you wanted. Lean and tender. Service was great. Atmosphere was just as we rembered.
Went there for family's birthday, and it was my first time visiting. Overall great location and view by the river. The salad bar was great, had great selection. The food is decent, and prices seems fair for the type of meals they serve. Service was pretty good overall.
Shrimp was over cooked and the pasta dish had a weird taste. Meat wasn't cooked well either. For the price they charge it all should be better. The only good thing was our server who tried his best to overcome the bad food with great service.
Had the t-bone steak n calamari for starters. Great food and service. However if you want to enjoy your meal conversation, I'd recommend you go at a later time. Noisy children from 5-7 but after that it quiets down.To a very nice adult environment. Pricey but worth the money for anniversary, date, situations. Tables lil wonky but that's it . Overall very good experience, for a first timer.
We had a 5 star experience last night dining at Golf's. The food was delicious and our server went above and beyond to ensure everything was excellent!
My cousin-in-laws were married here, and the atmosphere, AND the food were AMAZING! My husband n I had a chicken dinner with potatoes, & veggies- I didn't get a chance to try the potatoes (it's a wedding, and my husband pulled me out for pictures. I came back, and my plate was gone, lol) But the veggies were still slightly crunchy, and the chicken!! Looked like it might be dry, but it was SO. MOIST. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place for a big event, or even just for dinner. The food had always been exceptional every time I've come here. This place has been a Kitchener staple since I was in high school (pre-2003)..... I imagine it will still be here for years to come ????
The restaurant is huge, there's a coat check, the staff is super helpful. The food was AMAZING. Our waitress could have explained the options more clearly and been a bit more friendly but she was still good at her job. It was kind of chilly but I guess I should expect that in Canada in January in the sun room. The tables could be spaced further apart and have better lighting. I am 6 ft in heels but the chandeliers were hitting my head as I walked to the salad bar; the owners should ditch them in favour of recessed lighting.
Excellent meal excellent service! That why they have been in business so long!
Service
Just want to start by saying I have gone here for dinner many times throughout the years and it’s always been delicious! Second, I got married at Golfs July 26. The entire experience from start to finish was great. I had a million questions and George answered then quickly every time. Almost everything was set up how we wanted it. The staff was all extremely helpful and accommodating. At the end of the night they even packed up all of the extra food for us to take home! Amazing! Highly recommend anyone to come here, either for dinner or for their wedding!
We loved this place so much we went twice in one week! Excellent service by Jordon Excellent venue Excellent quality of food We celebrated my dads birthday and brought a small cake for him to cut Jordon went out of her way to not only slice the cake but added whip cream and decorations on the plates. She even added candles to the cake which we had forgotten to bring Jordon made our celebration very special; we thank you ????
Gols restaurant overlooking a Beautiful view of the river.Golfs is in my opinion the best steak house in the area. Thanks to George they always try to accommodate your reservation. You will not be disappointed.
I went for brunch on Sunday. I'm stuck between the 3 and 4 star rating, but will be generous and go with the 4. The food was stellar. Everything tasted 10/10 from the salad bar to the meats (ham, chicken, ribs etc) to the desserts. The servers were excellent, always right at your table to keep your water full etc. I don't want this to come off rudely, but you just can't help get the vibe that you're standing behind your 90 year old grandfather at the christmas party waiting for your food. The line moves incredibly slow. I can't imagine how awful it would be if it were jam packed busy. There is always more then enough food of all types for everyone, but the space they serve the food, its almost impossible to move around freely its so cluttered. Say you were to forget maple syrup for your pancakes, dressing for your salad, a cup of juice etc. Welp, you're getting right back in line behind old grandpa for another 20 minutes to get back up there. The quality and taste of the food makes up for everything.
Excellent take out for my New Year dinner, highly recommend, there's a reason they've been around since 1975
My family and I would absolutely recommend Golf's. This past Saturday we had our daughter's First Holy Communion celebration here. Everything was perfect, from the booking of the event. the setup (private area with socially distanced tables), the service , the food. A very big thank you to George and all Golf's staff.
Absolutely wonderful. Such a testament to a family run business. Our meal was delicious and perfectly timed. Thanks again- we will return!
Waitress, hostess and staff along with all the food was just incredible as per everytime I enjoy golfs. The tent was so enjoyable and was the scenery and the breeze! The breeze was just an added bonus as it was so hot outside.
It is hard to detail just how incredible Golf's was for our October wedding. George was amazing to work with and was so helpful with all of my many questions leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding, the service was impeccable, everyone commented on not only how fantastic the food was but how amazing the staff were. Can't wait to spend our anniversary dinners here going forward!
Service
Great dinner! Dinner was absolutely superb, I got the French Onion soup - so good! Nice and salty just how I like it! The whole meal was delicious, our server was lovely and the atmosphere was nice and calm. A great place for date night or a birthday celebration as ours was.
Food and staff were fantastic! Felt very safe. Wish we were there earlier so we could have taken advantage of the view and seen the river! Ordered surf and turf, which was reasonably priced, and included soup, salad, vegetable, and a potato option. I will definitely return soon!
First time went for brunch. It was filled with all different items. Very reasonable.
Very good food. The house salad could use more veg and a couple croutons but the dressing was excellent. Prime rib was very good, and overall dinner was a good value. Our entire table was happy and we'll be back.
Great food at a good price . friendly efficient staff. Lovely view of the Grand River
This my favorite restaurant. It's pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. It's what fine dining is all about. Quality food, good and friendly service, and a very comfortable atmosphere.
Top notch service! excellent steaks! Thank you!
Food is always delicious here. Missing the salad bar, but the atmosphere was relaxing as usual.
First time we visited this restaurant. A perfect setting for an early Valentine's celebration. Formal environment but also warm and intimate. The food was good, traditional, nothing too surprising. Appreciated the portions and quality. Prices were very reasonable. Service was exceptional, very attentive to our needs and accommodating. Definitely a place to revisit.
We recently reserved a room for a baby shower and I dealt with George and he was absolutely amazing, sweet and kind, the staff there was amazing as well, very friendly even if they weren’t our servers they were happy to help and the food was delicious! Thank you so much for making it easy! We are so appreciative of you all! I couldn’t be more happy
The Sunday brunch buffet has been recommended to me multiply times, so I was excited to get the opportunity to try it when I was invited to a function there. First off, the parking surprised me! There was plenty of spots to park, and the view from the parking lot onto the Grand River was beautiful. With it being my first time there, I did have to ask where the actual restaurant was. I didn't find it clearly labeled, but could have missed it. We were seated in the solarium as per the reservation, but did have to wait for the guests prior to us be encouraged to leave. As others have mentioned, it is outdated in terms of decor. But I assume that there's a bit of nostalgia there as the restaurant has been a well known spot in the area for quite some time. I found the windows and window sills to be dirty, making the beautiful view a little less enjoyable from in the restaurant. The waitress was helpful, kind and attentive. However, the food, which my friends had raved about, was disappointing. The meat was over cooked, the veggies were limp and tasteless, and the rice was dry and tasteless. The only thing that really tasted good from the hot buffet section was the bacon! The cheese and cracker spread looked like something I'd throw at my kids in a hurried lunch out the door. However, the carrot cake was quite yummy! All this to say, I won't be back. While I'm sure there are many who do enjoy it here, the bacon and carrot cake just isn't worth the price and there are other buffets in the area that I would rather go to.
I was there with 3 other people for dinner. I had the Rack of Lamb. It was the best Medium Rare Lamb I have ever had. It was soft and very tasty in the peppercorn sauce. It came with bake potatoes and veggies. The other people at my table had the Roast Prime Rib, Seafood Platter and Roasted Salmon which was the feature for that evening. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Irish Cream cake for dessert. It was delicious. It is impossible to make a reservation for this restaurant. They never seem to answer their phone. You just have to go there with the chance of getting in. Their dining room is fairly big and it was not that busy on the Friday evening at 6:00pm when we were there. It did start to get busier as we were leaving 2 hours later though. You cannot go wrong here. The food and dining room service were excellent. I am not a big fan of Lamb but I had decided to try something different. Sure glad I did. Try the Lamb. ...mmm.....I promise you would love it.
Service
Food is outstanding. Will be going for Xmas eve.
The waitress was one of the friendliest waitresses I've ever had my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and I would highly highly recommend and can't wait to go back again
Not a lot of good to say about this place. Decor is tacky. I ordered a medium steak but it was made rare. The fries were just deep fried steak cut McCains. Our server was friendly and prompt. Seemed to be a very popular place with old folks. Definitely won’t be going back.
Generally I'm not someone who leaves reviews but this experience had to be shared. After going through a long list of potential restaurants we could visit tonight, my wife chose Gulf's Steakhouse because in the past it has always been one of our go-to places. We ordered two prime rib dinners and a kids burger meal for our toddler. I also ordered a two coffees, one of which didn't come and the creamer took so long to reach out table with the first one that my drink was already cold. The prime rib came with zero seasoning and no au jus and a side of what the manager later confirmed was frozen boiled veggies. Everything was so bland, not a bit of seasoning at all. Our toddlers burger was also admittedly frozen and we were not given or asked about toppings. It was served without ketchup, lettuce, tomato, etc. and we weren't brought any either so we just received a patty with the bun and fries. We brought all of this to the attention of the manager who came to the table to only justify the poor quality. He even went as far as saying that the customers preferred the frozen patties because the real ground beef patties they made were too big... I find that so hard to believe. Why would you want to pay a gourmet price for something you could buy 8 in a box for the price of one? We cut the burger in to quarters and after one bite we sent the whole plate back and still got charged for it. Their solution to our disappointing meal was a complimentary dessert which was a nice offer but after a disappointing dinner that was not something we wanted. We had to really present our case in order for them to take the cost of the Burger off and we kindly paid for the rest. We completely understand how hard restaurants were hit during covid but I truly feel that the whole reason why people go out to have dinner is to enjoy a night out over good quality food and that was just not met today. A&W, Wendy's and Harvey's would have been a fresher choice burger than what we received today. Just disappointing all around.
Yet another fantastic meal experience. Excellent in house ordering system. Timing was perfect. Curb side was flawless. Safe. Amazing food. Great portions. Salad and soup were excellent. We find ourselves back here almost weekly!
