This Golf corresponds to the category of Golf course.
This course had a tough winter. Bit it is getting slowly back to being a great golf course.
In really bad shape!
Fun 9ner.
horribly maintained but i am going to give this 3 stars just because the people here were so accepting and friendly
Time to let this place close. It has potential but would require tons of money to get this back to acceptable. Tried to go golfing yesterday and was turned away by staff for no good reason other than they wanted to close early.
Great value....18 and a 9 for optios therefore not as busy as other courses at times...could for sure have improvementsbut appreciate the lower green fees..want more ...pay more
Crouse is in bad shape
Terrible greens and groundkeeping. We were still charged the normal rate of 40 bucks for a cart and only 9 holes. The first 3 holes they had to make, make-shift greens because the normal ones were in terrible shape. Only problem is all the did was cut a circle on the fairway and put a flag in it. So the "greens" we're impossible to putt on. Save your money and go elsewhere trust me.
Nice ball park
Golfed there first time in over 15 years. Greens were aerated couple days before. Tee boxes could be in better shape. Fairways were in pretty good shape.
You’ll need to take a close look at the scorecard or Google Maps to see where almost every green is. I just remember feeling like it was a giant field that nine flags were placed on.
Course was in good shape. Bit of work going On, but that's what happens to keep things up.
During my week off I played a round of golf here and had a great experience.
Staff were very friendly and helpful if you had questions or anything. Driving range is fairly nice with good indicators for yardage and well spaced out mats. The putting green was well taken care of and a fair size. Prices were reasonable and abit below average costs across the city. The 9 hole course is fairly forgiving and a great beginners course tho do watch out for the 6th 7th and 9th holes as they can be abit tricky. Food and beverages were well priced and tasted good. Over all the course was a nice and relaxing experience with the girlfriend. Would recommend to friends and family.
9 hole course needs a lot of attention
The receptionist from the pro shop have a little monthly period. He so strict from not touching anything but when he's counting the bills for exchange, he used his saliva to get it wet. Just saying... but over all the golf course rating is good
Great. Golf
Course is in good to okay shape considering the severe drought were in and combined with how the course used to look. Greens are coming along nice. Staff were very friendly, pace of play was good it wasn't slow when we went. All in all I would golf here again.
Good course with decent distance for most holes. Fairly open with not a lot of tress around. Probably won’t lose many balls if you’re a terrible golfer like myself. It’s right next to the river so expect bugs and lots of geese around spring and fall.
Wide open course. Back 9is nicer than the front and there are some pretty long walks. 9 hole course is also decent.
Great 27 hole golf facility. New management is putting some work into this place. Fairways and greens are noticeably better than years ago when it was a baron desert.
Car show was good
Greens are a little rough in 2021… but was I. Good shape otherwise
Decent track. Good clubhouse and pro shop. I remember his one time I hit it two fairways over. Well let me tell you about it, I smacked that second shop so tight to the cup the wind almost blew it in by the time I got to the ball. Anyway it's a decent track. There's three 9's, all okay to play. Enjoy yo.
Nice soccer field
Lots of fun
My husband and I came here a while back to do some golfing and get away for the weekend and it's definitely one of the most beautiful golf courses we have ever been to! highly recommend coming here!
Don't. Greens were closed, fairways were awful, rough was over grown. If the management company is trying to fix it, they need to close it down first, or let people play for $5. It's nearly unplayable and completely unenjoyable in it's current state.
Awesome ????????????
I like this course, and it's definitely improving with the new management.
Tee box grass and fairways grass are like rough, greens are super slow and the rough was too thick and soggy. Was gonna play 18 holes, but stopped after 9 holes due to the condition the course was in. Would not recommended. Sorry guys
One of the toughest public courses I've ever played. They need to spend some time on the greens overall not bad
Crappy course
Over priced for the course. Lack of markings throughout the course had us confused often. Also lacking hole signs. Not sure how they have this course in such a bad condition as well. Like hitting off rocks. Overall a huge disappointment.
Golfing is great .
I used to love golfing at Blumberg before it fell into disrepair. The past year has shown real promise and it appears to be improving every time I golf there. The greens have some damage this year but it's still early. My only real complaint is the lack of signage. I wish they'd just paint a few panels white and write the fairway information in felt pen. I hope it is someday returned to its former glory. I'm the meantime it is an inexpensive 9 or 18 hole course and a lot of fun to play
Course was in great shape.
Worst course in wpg and surrounding area. 3 holes are temporary greens, which was just a hole in the middle of the fairway, impossible to putt on. There was one or two greens that were nice. The rest was all patches of grass and dead spots. A couple greens even had grown out weeds on it. Lost balls on the "fairway" as the grass was not cut to fairway standard lenth. Sad seeing how full price was paid for the round. I'd only recommend this course to beginners or children. Hadn't played here in a couple years and it might be a couple more til I try this course again. Use your hard earned money to play a maintained course.
Lost a star due to lack of washrooms or porta-pooper. Had a soccer game there, so many fields. No where to "go".
Gorgeous day. Friendly staff
Nice ball park
As much as I hoped to enjoy my round at John Blumberg, unfortunately that wasn't the case. Poor fairway/green maintenance, Missing signs indicating yardage and positioning of the green. Was over booked for our current covid guidelines (attempting to place us with people outside of our household) and a pushy, condescending Course Marshall who's attempts to intimidate you to go faster made for rushed, unfulfilled experience.
Loved this place as a kid but it is in dire straits. Really hope they get it back to playable.
I’d give this course a negative 5 if I could. Over priced golf course, terrible, rude, and disrespectful manager. Take your money else where folks. Anywhere but here and you’ll be glad you did so.
Played a round of golf here earlier this week and I would advise everyone to stay away from this course and save your money there is no way to putt on the greens there in awful shape I wouldn't even consider what I played a round of golf it was more like a driving range cause putting is out of the question horrible
It's playing golf in a field and there was no "map" at the t-box sign.. being so open it's kind of a guess as to which pin is yours
Golf course not in good shape.
greens were fairly good but they were slow. the fairways were not cut and there were plenty of ruts and weeds. Your beverage will spill in the cart with the ruts in the fairway.
Club house guy Mike hated his job, not friendly at all. Got off to a hot start by rudely telling us to sanitize our hands, instead of politely pointing it out. When asking for directions (2 courses, first time here) Lady on #1 tee box seemed annoyed to answer our questions. Beer cart girl was amazing though, she passed us every few holes. Course itself is average at best. You can see 3 different greens from each tee box. Basically golfing in an open field. For $58 for a round.... just go somewhere else.
The new management has done an absolutely fantastic job on the course this year. I can't wait until next year. The only things I had a problem with was they run out of carts and we played yesterday and they punched the greens in front of us. I wish I was told that this was going on. After the round, we asked for some discount, that we all thought we should be entitled to because no one told us they doing that work. A poor response from the proshop with a shrug of the shoulders. I will go back, but my friends are not as forgiving as I am.
Public course... very player friendly. Decent clubhouse.
It's come a long way since the last time I was here. Greens for the most part are pretty good. Fairways are in rough shape. Very dry and cracked. But still a good course for a challenging round of golf ⛳. I will go back for sure ????
Not worth paying full price when you could golf anywhere else for same price if not cheaper elsewhere horrible condition may aswell leave putter at home pw works better on there greens cheers
Decent golf course . It's very wide open on the front . It does get much more treed and senic on the back nine . The big problem is it is a very rough course. Kidney belts should maybe handed out with the power carts . seriously , we thought this near the end of the round.
Very nice course for your money. Friendly staff. Clean carts. 18 hole courses' back 9 are simply a gem to play on.
Have played this course numerous times this summer and had overall positive experiences. The recently hired younger clubhouse attendant goes above and beyond and provides tremendous customer service. Wide open course with little traffic and plenty of forgiveness for errant shots. Laid back atmosphere and affordable green fees. It's no secret that this course needs significant work, but if you keep your expectations moderate you can still have a great round of golf.
Staff was not accomodating
Could be so much more with the right care and maintenance
Golf course is starting to look good
The greens were in decent shape. The rain has helped. Not the best manitoba course but the back 9 is pretty nice. Hard to lose a ball on the front.
Have done a lot of work on the greens they are coming back to where they were 20 years ago need to work on the fair ways.
Sign the petition. Save the course!
It's a very nice course and friendly staff but my game was terrible.
The new owners are working very hard to improve this course. The condition of the entire course is far better than it's been in the last few years.
Not a bad course
Gotten really better over the last year I go every weekend
Horrible place for baseball
Short handed
Zero star review. This golf course is a joke. Horribly maintained, terrible management. Backwards attitude towards junior golfers (wouldn't allow my child to play for no reason other than he's a kid). Always super backed up. Always charge full rate no matter what conditions the course is in or what time you tee off. And you should know the course is nearly unplayable for how bad the greens are, yet they still charge $40. Avoid at all costs.
I wish I golfed better to honour the beautiful golf day it was.
Good
This course is heavily over priced for how bad the fairways and greens are. I would recommend this course for beginners for how wide open it is but you will have a hard time improving your game due to course condition's. On a plus note the staff were great.
Seen better days
Forced to hit from mats at the driving range. Mats are in poor condition.
Golf course was in shambles from previous management Ben S. Brian from Warren's golf course took over and the course has really turned around 2020 should be a great year for them
This is just one of the poorest goof courses there is. Even at a fairly reasonable price it isn't great value. The 9 hole course has a confusing layout and hasn't been put together well. The greens are poorly maintained and the fairways are a combination of muddy drainage ditches, construction, and patchwork plywood to cover sprinklers and hole. Clubhouse staff never seems friendly, and beverage service is slow (though beverage is very friendly). Aside from the somewhat affordable price this place is a joke. Don't golf here.
Was here for a company luncheon/ golf rounds. The building was fine but landscaping in general wasn't very nice.
Today was my third time playing blumberg this year. First two times there was 3/18 holes that they had makeshift greens for (see previous managment) but today all holes were open and in much better shape than before. They're still offering the discounted price and there isnt many people on the course so highly recommended for those who want to get someone new into the game.
Course is being worked on by new management and staff after many years of neglect. Will take a while to get back to good playable condition.
Best ever love Tracey
Horribly maintained. And rude staff.
If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. Had an okay time playing, course was in rough condition but the service at the pro shop was horrendous. Came back from our game and saw someone had smashed our rear window with a golf club, went to the shop to tell the front desk worker and the first thing that comes out of his mouth is "not our responsibility", and "we've had multiple break-ins this week". We DID NOT go in there expecting reimbursement, all we wanted to was do to explain what happened and maybe recieve a little bit of sympathy. PLEASE MENTION THE SECURITY ISSUE WHEN SIGINING UP TO PLAY. I do not recommend this place unless there is a change in management or something is done about the older gentleman running the desk.
Good round...fairways are dry...but greens are in great shape. Wildlife as well
Gradually coming back to life. Still a long way to go but decent value for $25. Dandelions everywhere and some dead spots on greens. However, holes 13 through 18 are as nice and challenging as any holes anywhere. If this were an old house, it would be described as having great bones. Long way to go but the operator has some progress.Buildings let one time travel back to 1975. Do not go there for the facilities.
If you are desperate for a round of golf, their twilight prices are pretty good. I would not pay full price for a round at this course though. The fairways are in terrible shape, full of weeds. If you don't know the course well, you will probably get lost in the middle of the front 9 somewhere. There are no real distinguishing boundaries between holes, as it's a wide open pasture of mostly poorly maintained rough, and weed patch fairways. Greens are mediocre. Clubhouse is gross.
So sad to hear it was being sold (again)! The new owner was working real hard to get it back into shape. Our family spent a lot of time there starting with my husband in the early 70's, two sons in the Junior Golf program run by Karen Blashko, and myself in the women's leagues in the 80's.
This course may be a bit tough around the edges but getting better and better. The staff is very friendly and at least on this occasion it wasn't very busy so I took the liberty of taking a few Mulligans without feeling any pressure of holding anyone up.
Greens are rough. But the course was quiet, no waiting
Nice and convenient.
Looks to be in the best shape in 20 years.
Very windy today! But parring three holes today was worth it!!!
Hard grounds but definently a challenging course I will be back, hopefully before the snow hits.
Terrible grounds to the owners get new grass fill the holes and please make a better path for the carts and and put hole directions on signs my father hit to the wrong hole because of it
0 maintenance is done. Very cheap, but might as well play in a random field
Great places with epic staff
An open course but challenging just the same. Still a bit rough shape but better than last year.
