My boyfriend and I stayed at the Oasis Inn for two nights. We stupidly booked through Booking.com for October instead of September as we were in a rush trying to find a place and when we got to the front desk to check in, neither myself or the lady at the front desk noticed the error.
As we were checking out, she told us we would have to call Booking to cancel our reservation and if we did not do this, she would not return our $200 damage deposit. We cancelled the booking, and repaid for the two nights that we stayed at a significantly increased cost. Granted, I know it was our mistake that we booked for the wrong date, but we only chose Oasis because of the lower cost of the stay.
The room was alright, but you could literally hear everything that was going on around you. The bathroom tap, and kitchenette tap was dripping all day/night, and you could hear the people next to you using the shower, bathroom, etc. Heard voices, snoring, movements from upstairs and next door ALLLL night. It was super difficult to sleep. Also slightly sketchy at night.
Although the mistake of booking the wrong date was ours, I do believe the receptionist should have noticed this as we would have stayed at a motel that was similarly priced and better maintained. She was quite rude as well. This whole process made our checkout process about an hour long, when we were in a rush to get to Vancouver, not to mention it'll be about 2 weeks until I get my refund from Booking.com. She said she had tried to reach us to let us know that she noticed the error earlier, but we had received no phone calls or messages.
If you are looking for a low cost stay in Kelowna, I would recommend the Econolodge a few streets up ahead. We should've gone with that again instead.
