REVIEWS OF Heron Landing Golf Club IN Kawartha Lakes

Marsha Lyall

Great shape this year fairways and greens very nice. All staff are very polite and friendly. I have not seen such nice staff at any other club.

Lawrence Haddlesey

Very expensive, $65 for 18 and a carts. Really slow greens. Would not recommend

Jean de Villiers

Shauna Case

Couldn't rent a golf cart, they said they didn't have enough. There was 25+ sitting outside the clubhouse. When we finished 18 holes there was still 7. Course was good

Schennelly Stoughton

Great Executive course will go again for sure !

J. Matthew Boucher

Terrible

Adam

Friendly staff, the course is on good shape.

Cassandra Ferreira

Shawn O'Leary

Fantastic course! Nice mixture of short and long holes. Great people too.

Riley Lazenby

Nice course, challenging enough for experienced golfers and not so difficult that beginners can't enjoy it.

Paul Griffin

Driving range is quite small. Don’t bother going if you want to use your driver.

Mike Henry

Marion LeBlanc

Beautiful executive golf course, very challenging. Staff and members friendly. Relaxed atmosphere, not pretensious.

Andre Zeman

Great course, well kept, friendly staff.

Brent Pitchford

Great little course! Would give it 5 stars if there cart rentals weren't too expensive. A couple of the holes are really far apart so when you walk about 2 or 3 of the holes are about a 3 minute walk apart. Other then that course is usually in great shape and fun to play. It is smaller but you can use your driver on majority of the holes! There driving range is great!

Leroy Merrikin

Would be nice if they'd answer their phone... ended up just going to keystone because they would actually pick up the phone.

Sean Dunlop

Rude staff. Treated my friend and I like complete idiots. Front desk lady very disrespectful. Asst. Superintendent suggested we used a handicap flag because we couldn't see the golf cart cut off mark behind a tree. Course Marshal barked at us for having cart 2 ft off the path on a long par 3 next to the fairway. Bad experience, would not go back.

Graham Adams

David Turpin

Lots of fun and great service

Caleb Hunt

Second round of golf I have played this season and I must say this course is in excellent shape. Its a little damp in spots but other than that we had a great afternoon. Staff is super friendly and so are the Marshalls.

The course was not groomed very good The Marshall was swearing at people because they brought the cart on the fairway even when they did what they were told.power tripping .overall bad day.nice day for golf but the Marshall made it a bad day just watching him yelling at people ruined the day I will never play that course again .

It was a great day and it's an excellent course for beginners and to practice your short game. My daughter who is golfing for her second year thought it was just challenging enough to test her.

Brett Belsey

John Marchand

Service could improve

Samuel Edwards

I've been here many times and the course condition is terrible this year. I understand that this isn't Augusta National, but the greens are longer than most fairways (incredibly slow), and the rough is mostly just weeds and dead thatch. This was a great course to get your first couple of rounds in at the start of a season, but in it's current condition you're better off hitting a couple baskets at a range.

Peter Novak

Nice place to golf

Mike Smith

Club house staff were nice and course wasn't too bad. The marshal ruined the entire experience though. Followed us to the first hole and watched awkwardly, then proceeded to do so on every hole. We weren't being disrespectful in the slightest yet were scoffed at for being less than a foot off the cart path. Then we're told to stop holding up the people behind us although we were on the last hole, and the people behind us were our own family. If it were a premium course I'd understand but it's a run of the mill public course, no need to make you feel like you're constantly being watch. There's 10 par 3's as well, so don't bother with a cart.

I have a soft spot for Heron Landing. I spent many, long summer days as a junior member playing endless rounds of golf with my friends on this course when it was just getting started. The course has evolved, been developed and matured over the years, but it has always maintained an emphasis on playability for the casual golfer. If you're looking for a 5+ hour round on a 6000+ yard course, you need not apply. Time is a valuable commodity; you'll have no problem walking a full round of 18 on this Par 62, 4100 yard course in just over 3 hours. Quick solo 9 after dinner on the weekend in the summer? You'll often find yourself alone on a nice walk in the peace and quiet and playing 9 in under an hour and a half is easily achieved. You won't find a Par 5 on this course, and even the par 4's are short, but there is still plenty of challenge to be had. The owners and staff are all fantastic, and they make you feel welcome and right at home. All of the above and more keep me coming back time and time again.

Stephen Vinette

I had a great experience.

Austin

Too expensive. Normally walk 9 for 25.14 but it was really hot so thought I would take a cart. Over 56 dollars !!!!! Another local course earlier in the week offered a cart for five dollars (not sure of regular price) but they wanted everyone to enjoy their experience. I paid 25 including cart that night. Lots of better options in the area. Too bad because it is a nice (albeit) short course

Very nice exec. course. Nice to walk. Great greens large and challenging worth trying.

Trevor Holowaty

After explaining it was our first time on the course, we were followed by wardens the entire duration of our 18 holes. Some of the holes are poorly marked, so when we made a wrong turn and ended up on an incorrect path, we were asked to leave. Not only the worst experience we have ever had playing a round of golf, but also the most confusing. The back 9 is so poorly labeled, that we found ourselves teeing off on a hole we had already played. Not the course for you if you are learning or not able to drive perfectly every single time. Between our group we dropped nearly $400, and we're still treated like absolute peices of garbage. I'm sure some of the wardens are quite nice, but unfortunately we had a poor experience and do not see the value in returning.

Jay

Course is in decent condition. If your in your mid to late 20s don’t bother going. The course Marshall’s are biased towards young people. Payed 70$ and was watched the entire time. Broke one “cart rule” and the marshals confronted us very aggressively. Made the rest of the round unsettling

Florence Kelly

Lucky Chambers

Great space with accommodating staff. Showed up half an hr before close to hit some balls at the driving range, really nice place!

Michael Lew

Elden Newcomb

Awesome course. Shorter but staff are great with all that is happening...FORE!@

Great place to golf. Stunning geography, best around. Love the views, very natural look off the fairways. Well maintained and staff are friendly. A great walk.

william john Beyette

Absolutely love this course. The driving range is great for warming up, and the staff are always extremely nice and accommodating. We played the back nine holes later in the day and we were able to relax and not have to worry about being rushed by staff. I realize this might not be the go-to for expert golfers, but it's great for people like me that want to go out there, play some golf and be in a relaxed atmosphere.

Doug Hopkins

Decent course. Decent price. Tee off starts at 07:30am and for 18 holes last tee time is around 17:45.

Mcrichard Recovery

In very good condition perfect place to play in 3 1/2 hours

Chris Marlow

Two of us guys mid 20s go to this course, get tuned up on the rules as if we did something wrong before we even started even though the rules are in each cart. Then the "rangers" watched us for 75% of our 18 hole play. Never going back here after paying $56 to have security watch us as if we were there to do something wrong. Two friends who just want to golf.

Michael Allen

Nice little executive course. Interesting holes and plenty of well placed hazards. Would recommend for all skill levels.
