Not very friendly. We had no idea they were having a golf tournament the day we dropped in. Several employees around, not one person said hi, nothing. Pretty starchy. Went into the restaurant and a woman come out, we are closed til 5. Hmmmm no hi how are you, what can we do for you, or give us some info on what's going on. Didn't feel welcome at all, definitely felt we were intruding. Won't be back.

Jaw dropping vistas! It's not often I stand and look in awe from the tee out to the fairway and green beyond. Easy to be intimidated by the many forced carries and seemingly impossible landing areas, but it's more forgiving than one would think, unless you slice or hook badly. Still, bring extra balls and treat yourself to a once in a lifetime experience.

This place came highly recommended by friends and I gotta say it delivered. It delivered even while playing in the height of the smog of the forest fires which hid many of the views that people rave about. This course is just awesome. Far from easy but has lots of variety from hole to hole. If you are a decent golfer I can't see how you'd have a bad time. However if you are a high handicap or just learning this place might beat you up. I can't wait to come back!

My favourite golf course in B.C. The practice facilities are amazing. Course is also immaculate with bent grass greens that roll smooth and true. Very scenic with views of the lake almost every hole. Can be a pretty challenging course, but make sure to play the correct tees and you’ll have a blast!

Who played with a friend who is the head pro at Country Hills Golf Club, Calgary Alberta. He played from the tips of course. So enjoyable to watch someone who actually knows what he's doing. LOL. He pretty much hits the ball where he wants to about 90% of the time, but he did get caught a couple times just because of the lack of course knowledge. There are a few holes here if you don't know how your ball will roll out for example it's easy to run off the Fairway. But we had a great time and I'm sure he would agree. It's a really nice track. We had dinner on the really nice outdoor patio. Presentation of the food was really nice as well as the quality. And the price was reasonable There's probably not that much more that I can say that hasn't been said. I have played there several times the course is always immaculate. The greens are always fast. And true. One small criticism: every time I've been there the driving range requires you to hit from mats. They are nice mats but mats just the same.

Picturesque golf course (even with wildfire smoke) overlooking Kamloops Lake. Course conditions where perfect. If you hit it long but aren't accurate you better bring your A game. The beverage cart was awesome and managed to hit us 4 times during our round. Helpful staff.

Beautiful course, very challenging if you're not familiar, fairways felt like hitting out of butter! I found the practise area to be great, hit some of my best shots there unfortunately. I would have given 5 stars however I found the food and beverage offerings on the course (I didn't stay for a meal at the restaurant) to be lacking for a place this nice. Looks like a beautiful community as well, don't think you're going to find better around Kamloops. I would definitely play again if I was in the area, would be more fun with some knowledge of the holes.

Amazing location. Went here close to sunset and had dinner. Restaurant closes at 9 PM during covid so better be there 1 hour early. Staff was very polite and good. Requested to sit outside and enjoy the view and they made it possible for us. Their Ceasar is really nice. Prices are great and the food is good. Will come back again during summer to enjoy views and this increadible place very close to Kamloops.

I came back again and I was with my friends last September (2019). Just love the place and only one things is no hotel nearby which caused a little bit inconvenience. I actually played so worse that day - I was with a handsome man with single handicap and 250-280 yard driver - You just image how things happened.

Over the last 10 years tobiano as an area has had its ups and downs it is now being fully developed around the most amazing Golf Course and it's not an easy golf course with it's Ravines, UPS Downs, Water Cliff's it's just one of the hardest golf courses around Kamloops. But not to the point where it's not enjoyable so if you enjoy golfing and one hell of a view go check at tobiano. better yet buy a home out there. Because it's definitely an up-and-coming area if you're smart get in now.

The fact that this place is withstanding the enduring environment is a miracle! Regardless of the climate, the golf operation itself is pretty impressive, so much in fact, that people were still out golfing til dusk! Where I felt the impression fell down a notch was the food. The 4 dishes we ordered over the course of two evenings sounded great in the menu, given their ingredients, but lacked that flair that goes with upscale golf ie. 2 of the 4...the dry spaghetti and dry meatballs in a sparse marinara sauce...still tasted good...also the fish and chips...questionable presentation with semi burnt fries...but we don't complain, the staff was polite and attentive. Awesome wine and beverage selection, and no, if you start seeing coyotes wandering the course, you're not drunk lol...they are harmless and do their thing. Anyways, good place to stop!

This course is top tier from start of the season to finish. I've had the privilege of getting to know the staff as I lived in one of the small communities around the golf course. Shannon, the course pro, is amazing and friendly. Even though I wasn't a full member here I was treated like I was. Excellent practice facilities and superb dining at the restaurant as well. Pro shop staff are polite and quick to help. Can't beat the views from anywhere on this course, and best bang for the buck in the region. Will be back as often as I can be!

The course is in spectacular shape and the facility is beautiful. I would go back to play it in a second.. You are missing the fifth star because I expected more from the clubhouse. We had a good breakfast and the service was good, but the afternoon food was just ok. The two wait staff that were on in the afternoon barely wanted to serve us and it was empty. The food was ok but I expected better. Just came back for a second time. Amazing course once again!! But the cart service on course was dismal. Put those girls on commission! I would like to see someone every 4 holes, not every 10.

Maybe I'd heard too much about it so my expectations were extremely high. It was my first round there and I thought it was a good course but I wasn't blown away. A couple of gimmicky holes, but managed to play the last 5 holes at 1 under. Beautiful setting on the lake. Starter was a bit of a curmudgeon which started me off on the wrong foot, especially after having experienced the outstanding welcome at Predator Ridge the previous day. Not sure if I'd go back if I had to pay.

Great golf course with stunning views. unfortunately I give 4 stars only due to the fact that they recently increased the rate for locals. I would be fine with the increase but a few of the bunkers had larger rocks in them and some fairways had large brown spots with barely any grass. if you are paying a premium rate to play this course I would expect these smaller details to be resolved. Again amazing course with fantastic practice facilities always have a good time playing here.

Beautiful, challenging course. However, this past Saturday, course was either over booked or the marshalls weren't on top of things, but we teed off just after 2pm with no mention of anything awry from the pro shop, only to be told we had to cut our round short and be off the course by 7. We rushed hole 14, and didn't get to play our last 4 holes. No offer of compensation. Pace of play was horrible and we felt cheated and ripped off. Not sure I'll make the trip and spend my money there again. Or else AM tee time only? Anyway, not what we expected from this calibre of club.

Great golf course from start to finish. I have been there on 3 occasions and its always in immaculate condition. Very playable from the right tee decks and the hardest part of the experience is to pick a signature hole as there are many to choose from at Tobiano. Service was excellent from the pro shop check in to the best breakfast we have had this trip to the on course service . I just wish I lived closer to Tobiano.

Tobiano is a true gem! We have golfed at many amazing courses but what sets Tobiano apart are their outstanding people. Dave at the Pro Shop made our entire experience memorable. From the moment we walked in, Dave was so accommodating, friendly, patient and always had a smile. He was such a pleasure to deal with and was so informative. My mother had a million questions and Dave was so kind in answering all of them. It was our first time at Tobiano and will certainly not be the last! Thanks Dave for your top notch service and making our experience special. The 2.5 hour drive was definitely worth it!

This is the nicest course I've played. I loved the GPS on the carts.... Almost like having a mobile caddy...The fairways, roughs and greens are flawless.....Just don't go beyond the roughs or it's dig out a new ball. The scenery is wonderful and the whole experience is top notch.

The layout of the course was exceptional...but the conditions were brutal...seems like noone wants to replace their divots...there were deep divot scrapes on nearly every fairway and dead divots laying everywhere...also seems like noone wants to repair the ball marks on the greens...my expectations were high before playing this highly rated course but was disappointed in the end...also the mosquitoes were swarming and relentless

This is a great course. The greens were immaculate and fast. The fairways were as good as the greens in most public courses, you could putt from twenty yards off and I did! Really nice layout that is challenging risk-reward but offers a way to play it conservatively if you like. Stunning views of Lake Kamloops on nearly every hole. A very beautiful course to golf. Enjoyable patio as well with good service and food. All around a great experience.

I've never golfed there. But I've done alot of the concrete around tobiano, its beautiful to look at but it's kind of a pain in the behind to pour concrete out there. The wind alone can give a finisher a headache

Well kept and challenge layout golf course. The downside was we didn't bring mosquito spray, a lot of them flying around us all the time, quite disturbing. My arms and legs were spotted with mosquito bites. It just late of May, not sure what will happen in the summer! Anyway, we will go back with mosquito spray next time! Come back again in August (couple days ago), I was surprised there's no mosquito at all! Really enjoyed playing there. For sure will visit again!

First, let me tell you readers that I golf frequently (over 150 rounds a year) so I think I am quite qualified to make a call on a golf course. We were on our way back to Oregon from the Canadian Rockies. We drove 5 hours to get from Jasper to Kamloops...about the same amount of time it took to complete our round...4 hours 55 minutes to be exact. During the round, it was not unusual to have 3 foursomes on a tee box especially on the back 9 and we did not see a single marshal throughout our round to move groups along. On the back, we were waiting after every shot. The group in front of us quit after 14 holes because the play was so slow. The single in our group also quit after 14 holes. The single in our group was a member of Tobiano and said that 5 hour rounds were quite common. We never got lost driving 2,000 miles throughout this road trip but got lost on Tobiano's back 9...poor signage and no map layout on the scorecard. Almost impossible to navigate... The greens were true but were a graveyard of buried elephants. If you are able to tolerate a 5 hour round and going through a maze on the back nine, the views are spectacular and the course is well manicured. It's easy to write a nice review because of scenery but I was there to play golf. For me: What a way to spoil a beautiful and challenging layout...very disappointing. July 15, 2018 Update The General Manager, Terry Smith, responded to my review. He wrote that they would be reviewing the signage program. He did not address the pace of play in his answer and invited me to call him for further feedback. I did. He stated he was sorry we experienced the slow pace of play and on that particular day (Wednesday, July 4) Tobiano was a "victim" of a large group of Asians (12) who combined their three foursomes and were playing 2 sixsomes! (The groups behind this larger group were the victims...not Tobiano.) He further stated that an effort was made to control this group but Tobiano's marshals departed at their scheduled time (without resolving the issue and left the course to pace itself)! He said that a 4 1/2 hour round was what they expected. If the group in front of us had not quit at the 14th hole, our round would have surely been in the 6 hour range....After writing my review and talking with the GM, I checked back on older reviews and found the same complaint about the pace of play. July 27, 2018 update I am very impressed by Terry Smith, the General Manager, and his responses to my review and our phone conversation. With the implementation of his plan, Tobiano may arrive as a terrific golf venue. It already has beautiful golf holes and a wonderful golf ambience. Given a chance, I'd give it another shot.

From the moment we got there to we when we left, time was a lot slower than expected. It's the course Marshall's job to keep the pace of play on all golf courses, it's what they're hired to do. Before we even tee'd off we were told that our round was going to take 4:45min. Absolutely unacceptable for the best rated course to play at in BC. This being said me and my wife can't say enough about the course layout and condition. Employees were super friendly and accommodating. Would go back but going to try an earlier tee time to avoid the back up.

Course is in pristine shape this year. Views were stunning. Greens excellent. Not much for water traps which I don't mind but that's made up with how the course is structured. I found the front 9 harder than the back 9.

I was a member at Tobiano for the 2016 season while I lived in Kamloops but have golfed it several times since then. Shannon and the rest of the staff are more than friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to ensure service excellence which can go a long way in customer satisfaction. It's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The course is in impeccable shape as well. Strong winds can make a round quite difficult, but it only adds to the experience! Having golfed around the world, Tobiano is easily in my top three favourite and most beautiful courses. The course is challenging yet very enjoyable. Each hole is very unique and provides incredible views of Kamloops Lake and the surrounding mountains. If I hadn't moved back to Ontario, I would have most definitely continued my membership here! I come back at least twice a year to play the course. Shannon and the rest of the staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. I highly recommend playing this course. Make the time to travel here if you're from out of the city and you won't be let down!
