Phenomenal shape for late July, and very quick pace during twilight hours. Not the longest course in the world, but it's got just enough difficulty to make it fun. Great course for any level, especially if you're looking to improve your game.

Terrible Terrible experience. The miserable female marshal kept coming up to us at each hole telling us to pick it up. We were ahead of the pace of play throughout and after 9 holes were off pace by 5 minutes. Never had such an atrocious experience at a course directly related to the horrendous staff/volunteer group. Will never go back and I would avoid this place at all costs!!

Grew up playing this course. A classic. Fairly easy, but still a nice track. However I rarely play there now, even though I'm a member. The pace of play is beyond slow it's frustrating. Tee times need to be spread apart more than 8 mins. There are constant lineups at the tee and rounds regularly take longer than 5+ hours. For a 5500 yard course from the tips, that's beyond reasonable. A shame because the course is really fun to play.

Classic track. Short course even from the blues. Inside the city course. I grew up on it an love it. But since it's a shorter course inside the city u get alot of seniors in the am an weekend wackers. Usual round there 5 hours.

What an experience to have played the home course of the late Moe Norman. You step into the Pro Shop and are treated like your a member and not just a golfer who would like to play around of golf. The ranger that day (October 9, 2014) took be around the course telling me about his memories of Moe. Later when my wife came to pick me up he took us both into the clubhouse and gave us a peraonal tour of the Moe Norman Room ( a real step back into history of the Rockway Club). I was also able to meet Todd Doering, the superintendent of Rockway & Doon Valey Golf Clubs. One doesn't get to meet a Super that keeps 2 courses at the sametime in such pristine condition. If you are close to Kitchener, ON and don't play Rockway, you are denying yourself a phenomenal golfing experience.

Lo and behold it rained so we went back to the clubhouse for our refund. We were then told that we were only entitled to a raincheck not a full refund. Furthermore, our raincheck says 9 holes, not the 18 we paid for. When we questioned him, we were told, "oh you should know a raincheck is only good for 9 holes" instead of simply telling us from the start. A little bit of up front communication would go a long way in making me want to come back and play again. I would golf elsewhere if you're expecting much in the way of customer service.

Well, if I could provide negative stars I assure you I would. I've never had a worse experience at a golf course in my 25 years of play. We played 6 holes in an hour and 20 minutes only to have the brutal female Marshall harass us for our slow rate of play. The course stipulates a rate of play of 2hrs and 10mins per 9 holes. Do the math, we were fine. Then on the 7th she was following us as we played. And again on the 8th with an additional reminder about our rate of play. By the time we finished our front 9 we were 2hrs and 15 minutes. We would have likely been right on time had we not been held up by her incessant pestering. Suffice it to say, we will not be going back and I'll be spreading the word about the "rate of play policy" to all my buddies and colleagues at the office. If they had apologized afterwards and accepted even a modicum of responsibility for overbooking the course my vitriol would have been dramatically tempered. Alas, when going inside to speak with George after the round it was apparent their ignorance knows no bounds. What a sorry display of customer service, should be ashamed of themselves.

Rockway is a very fun municipal golf course. Not long but tons of character. It's also where the late great Murray "Mo" Norman spent a lot of this time later in life. Don't expect a championship golf course but expect to enjoy your day. Just beware of pace of play on weekends it can get a little slow.

Owned by the city. Staff are all union cronies who really don't care about customer service or marshalling. The fees are too cheap for the course so you get a lot of older folks and bad golfers. Plan on 5 hours per 18 for a really short track even in off hours. Won't play unless late evening.

Loved the golf course golfer there today. It was a very slow round had to wait at every shot. But any golfer would know golfing on a Sunday it's going to be busy right . The older couple behind us called the club saying we were slowing them up. The Marshall cam and asked to pick it up. Great course the staff not the greatest

Overall it was great. Just at the end of our game at the 18th hole as we just parked the cart the guy working there was rushing to us saying sorry but we need the cart right away as people are waiting. We were getting the club's off the back as he came and he ended up delaying us as we didn't even understand what was happening. At least give the paying customer a moment to retrieve their belongings.

The course itself seems nice enough however, I went on a Sunday morning with a friend and we were kicked off the course by the second hole. Course Marshall followed us and flipped out because I we were taking too long to tee off from the first hole. I couldn’t even put my tee in the ground and was forced to move on saying there were 12 people waiting behind us. There was literally nobody waiting whatsoever. Once again after trying to tee off at the second hole, the Marshall said “you should probably golf elsewhere...this isn’t a course for someone looking to learn golf..” I told them we were beginners before even paying! Wouldn’t recommend this place whatsoever! Other places to choose from nearby that are far better.

Great facility. A walkable 18 hole course that is accessible to beginners learning the game, but can still challenge a more seasoned weekend warrior. Best of all, it’s a reasonable rate as a non member, and yearly memberships are more affordable than the golf north equivalent

Great little course situated in the heart of the city. Mature old trees abound and for a municipal course it is well cared for. The course is short but does make you shape some shots off the tee to get to the right positions. The only downside is the pace of play here can be quite slow so come into a round here knowing and expecting that and you'll be just fine.

Tried paying with cash today. They won't accept cash, because of COVID reasons. Unfortunately it's legal tender and they HAVE to. But I was told either pay another way or don't play. They also have rakes, ball washers, and pins being removed all over the course. What COVID protocols are they actually following? Absolute garbage.

The course is always in great shape when I play Rockway. It's challenging but not intimidating. The main issue I always come across seems to be how often the course gets backed up. Once something is mentioned to the marshalls, then it picks up again, just wish they were a bit more proactive and self motivated to do it themselves without having to be asked. Clubhouse usually has some really good deals on clothes and shoes, too.

Maybe just the particular day I went, but the course grooming machines were everywhere. Including 1 going down each side of the hole I'm playing. Another one working beside the green I'm putting on. Didn't even stop working to avoid distraction. Ropes in front of the greens affected my ball twice during the round. If you don't have your own GPS, you'll be playing by sight. Unless you're within 10 yards of the yardage markers, you won't see them, therefore, many misjudged shots due to not being able to see distance markers.

A local favourite. Well maintained and managed city course. Excellent value. Tee off times are often fully booked, particularly in evenings. Better walk than Doon, its sister city course. Expect to be matched up with partners if you have less than a foursome.

Such a lovely place! Nice course with a few tricky holes, mostly well kept and very well organized. The winery was also a lovely stop (connected to the main golf clubhouse) and we had a really nice tasting outside. The team were especially accommodating as we had a GolfNow coupon that expired during the lockdown, but they made sure getting everything organized was smooth and painless. Will definitely be going back this summer.

Not pleased with the course, this course was $66 for this Saturday and the course appeared to be oversold and extremely slow. After we paid we were then asked to pair up with another pair so they can cram us through, while we waited 25 minutes to tee off. Out of courtesy, I would have liked to be told when we were paying that this was the case as we pay for an experience. Luckily, after sharing our concerns and grumbling for a while they let us go on our own. The course was well maintained however confusing around the hole 4, 7 and 16. Beer and snacks are also very expensive compared to other courses, it almost felt like I was at the ACC. Clear signage would really help. Unfortunately I don't think I would go back.
