Beautiful and spacious park. The rides are not operating (written July 2021) so please check for an update first if you've promised it to your kids! Still love this park for it's views, trails and playground.
RIVERSIDE PARCK WAS AWESOME!! Much nicer than when I used to take me little ones there.
Our choir used the large picnic shelter for several masked, socially distanced rehearsals. There are outlets so we could power a keyboard, amp. and several "work" lights. The acoustics were OK and the surrounding environment was usually fairly quiet.
Cute park with a nice playground and river right there. I only saw that part but will definitely go back for the rest. The only thing I'm not a fan of was the needle boxes in the bathroom. It's not the parks fault and I guess if people are going to do drugs either way at least they can dispose of their needles properly
Our family’s new favourite park in the city. Big playground and numerous pokestops.
Went here for a craft market. Great location and lots of free parking.
Went for a team event to play frisbee golf for the first time. It happened to be a league night and we ran into some really awesome folks who helped us with the rules and technique!
Gorgeous array of plants, flowers & trees. The completed water rockery is beautiful! I love being around plants & flowers & trees & water.
Beautiful, clean, lots of shade for those scorching hot days to walk through. Can't wait to go back for another stroll or with the bikes
The geese have done a number in the park...it's hard to walk anywhere...but people aren't helping either ..there is a fair amount of litter...the playground for the kids is nice
Nice park with very old trees and a river flowing through it. Nice place for picnics during summers..
I love Riverside Park, as an avid work traveller with a home base in Guelph for years I used to enjoy long walks around the river. I look forward to visiting and seeing everyone in the future. The carousel is a beautiful heritage piece for the city and represents an interesting part of the past. There is a disk golf course on the far side of the park, a playground with swings and slides, a community garden, tons of PokémonGO stops and baseball diamonds.
Great place. Super place for kids to play, at the same time adults can relax by doing some activities like walking and your mind will be filled with lots of fresh air. The greentrees will provide you cooling effect.
First time here. Not a bad place to visit
Nice park in Guelph next to Speed river. Kid friendly and lots of parking.
Beautiful place to hang on a Great time
A wonderful park.
It's a huge beautiful park by the river in Guelph. The garden is nicely done and maintained very well. Great place to picnic and barbecue with family.
Great park
This is a beautiful park with a fantastic playground for kids of all ages. There is also a full-sized, traditional carousel and a mini steam train that usually run all summer (and the carousel at Christmas) but they are currently closed for Covid. It's disappointing considering both are entirely open air. Same with a concession stand that sells drinks and snacks. There are public washrooms here which is great.
Great park, nice loops for walking. Just be careful of bikers and disc golf players
Great disc golf
This park is beautiful and well designed for a wide age range. We walked a trail or two, enjoyed the waterfront and nearby gorgeous garden. There are 2 washrooms, which were clean, available as well as others across the river. Not that we needed it but those that need to charge their car can do so. We have really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it.
We did our fireworks there. Great big open space!
Lots of shaded picnic benches and a big playground for kids.
Amazing place! Well-maintained, lots of trees, playground for children and a stream going through the park.
Lovely garden! Loved it so much we were married there 20 years ago! Still a very well kept park!
A beautiful park, in your backyard. The trails are magical places of beauty and solitude, in the middle of the city.
We visited here in fall. It was super amazing.
Loved it. We all had so much fun, especially the kids. It was a pleasant experience. It was lovely having this experience before school resumption. We took lots of pictures. The park truly is beautiful. We visited the spiral garden, …
Nice family park.
Beautiful place ????, kids will have fun so will the grown ups..
What a beautiful, peaceful scenic atmosphere! I can’t wait to go back. I’m very much looking forward to when all the flowers have bloomed. Absolutely serene.
I caught a 50 pound muskie in the river and cooked it in the fire. Great campgrounds.
Amazing park .
Very nice park to visit. Lots of picnic area and shade. Kids park, train ride, concession stand and carousel.
It's a huge beautiful park by the river in Guelph. The garden is nicely done and maintained very well. Great place to picnic
Nice park with lots of slace for many visitors. There is a public washroom and multiple areas with picnic benches. Great place for spending time outdoors with friends and family. There are gazebos as well. Access to walking and sitting next to the river makes this park popular especially when there many parking spots.
Riverside park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors by a walk along the river or have some food at one of the many picnic tables. There is a play area for kids as well.
Very nice place to walk/bike beside the water, lots of people in the summer but lots of space to keep a distance.
Lovely trail beside the river - playground on the west side with the famous choo-choo train, picnic pavilions, etc. Bike trail on both sides of the river...trail goes on to cross Woodlawn, then Victoria, to reach the Guelph Off-Road Biking Association (GORBA) trails around Guelph Lake.
Awesome skating rink (maintained by local people it seems), beautiful view of the Speed river. Lots of kids even in peak of winter. Good amount of parking spaces
I love this park, don't get to it as much as I like. When I bring my grandchildren here they love it.
Always a great experience at Riverside. Plenty of shade and the enabling garden is beautiful.
Well, this is always a good park we like to visit. Was waiting for the kiddos to finish school and it was a beautiful, autumn day. …
Riverside is a lovely place to visit no mater what age you are either for a nice stroll , picnic or taking the kids of all ages out to the wonderful new playground (only a couple years old). There is a carousel and kid train there however they will not be opening this year due to the cost it would take to change them to follow rules of covid.
I love the feeling of nostalgia I get being in this park. It was a great place to go to as a child. I took my kids there and now my grandkids ❤ Live music is always the best. Especially when it's the amazing Guelph band The Kramdens
Pretty park and such a big new kids playground
Nice place for the Family and Friends
So nice ????
Disc golf is our new thing the wife and I and it just perfect for begginers. I love it.
Took my fiance Lisa wheeler there to enjoy ourselves. Walked threw the water. Played on swings had some lovely quiet time outside we enjoyed ourselves. Love my fiance and anything to see her happy.
Beautiful trails throughout, picnic areas either shaded or under shelters. The playground is a good mix of natural elements with traditional equipment.
Love this park for walking with friends. Only 2 minor complaints. #1 I wish there was a nicer walking path around the one end of the park, instead of having to circle back through city traffic. #2 I wish the forest trail was a little nicer (like the lovely gravel trail on the opposite side of the river), as it is often a nightmare of mud and woodchips in the spring/winter. Especially when walking with a stroller.???? Still love coming here however, especially to hide/find fun painted rocks!!❤
Lovely trails and excellent playground to have wonderful times with my 5 year old grandson.
Riverside is one of the most beautiful parks in the city. Amenities include washrooms, a concession stand, and lots of activities for children. There is also a small sandy "beach" area on the side of the river. Lots of geese though, which do make a bit of a mess.
This park is one of my favs... in the middle of Guelph, yet you feel like you’re outside the city. Ample parking. Great trails alone the river. Very clean and safe. Kids playground area as well.
Extremely beautiful, a huge park to walk, there is an activity for every type of person, the river is so nice and full of wildlife, they have a beautiful botanical garden. Perfect for a date.
Nice park to relax. Many photo to take. There is a fall too. So many geese and ducks to watch and admire.
A stunning place for summer visit! Peaceful and beautiful river, definitely great for picnic, reading and kid's entertainment!
Nice gardens and a playground for kids. A river runs thru it, very peaceful place.
Ive been coming here for almost 40 years. Theres a carousel, train and confection stand. Walking trails for miles and a river runs through it, hence the name. Ample parking. Highly recommend
Will even be better with continuation of carousel and train.
Had a lovely hike starting here. Nice views of the river.
Gorgeous little park. A great pit stop on the way from/ to the GTA/ Ottawa
Nice park
We're travelling as a family, finding new disc golf courses. This was a fun course in a beautiful, riverside setting.
Loved this park. Huge park and the near by location is also good. The washrooms were clean and well maintained unlike many other parks. Good for every age. Children's park is also big and have many different devices. Kids will love this place. There is area for base ball field.
Amazing gem in Guelph. Great childhood memories with the carousel and train
The ice track here is amazing. Looks so nice lit up at night! Take the entrance off Woolwich across from the beer store.
Great for a walk or biking or even a nap on the park beautiful flowers well maintained
One of my favourite places ????
Went here for an outdoor distanced COVID birthday party. Really nice little park and the pavilion we had rented worked out very well. Didn't get a chance to truly explore but what I saw was great.
Lovely area. Nice paths, great playground for little ones and lots of seating.
A lovely spot
**2020 Update ** The bathrooms are open. The carousel and train are closed for 2020. This park is a corner stone for us. They recently renovated the children's playground in 2017 and now have small "sections" based on age all in the same area. Covered areas for picnic are available but usually rented out in the summer. Plenty of grassy area available to bring a blanket and have a picnic. Walking trail down both sides of the river and further into the trees if you choose. One side has a Frisbee golf course. The other has the carousel and train. Tickets for both the carousel and train can be bought at the concession stand but it's usually cheaper to buy the season pass. The season pass gets you unlimited rides on both and costs $20 (tickets are around $2.50 each). It also makes a great gift idea for a family with small children. Concession stand sells hot dogs, slushies and ice cream in the summer. To top it off this park is one of the largest Pokémon stop locations in Guelph. Fun for the whole family.
Terrific park for lots of ages and abilities.
Beautiful park. So much to do. Bathrooms and water fountain open. Fantastic playground.
Nice Spot with Short Drive .
Ball diamonds, a bandshell, the river and picnic tables. Plenty of free parking.
Lots of things to do! So fun and will keep kids buys and having fun for a long time. There are things for kids under the age of 5 and things for kids from 10-13! Great park
Great place to take a walk or run.
Nice Park close to downtown Guelph, family friendly, good tree-lined walking paths, picnic tables, sports fields, quiet tranquil gardens ("Enabling Gardens" are especially beautiful). Wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
Loved Riverside Park, my daughter had a great time and we definitely plan to bring her back, hopefully when the carosel and train ride are open
Nice park with playground for kids and a refreshing stream. My daughter loved the walk in the stream with ankle high water.
The Bandshell was great to rehearse in. Park read well maintained.
Nice playground. There are many trees, so lots of Shaddy spots. Good place for a picnic with the kids. Carousel and train rides currently closed (COVID). Quite pretty neat the river.
Great times spent here with my niece. She especially loved the big slide! Lol
Beautiful park by the river with lots of activities for the kids.
Is always nice to go for a stroll in river side. Just wish it was a bit cleaner.
It is a peaceful place to sit and reflect as you enjoy the scenery.
There is a renovated play area. My kids like to ride a train
Great park with lots of natural beauty!
Serene park to make you forget the hustles of your day.
First time at the Riverside Park. I was driving around and saw the playground so I stopped to let my son play around for a while. …
Large green spaces, plenty of shaded areas, and fun playgrounds for kids. Highly recommend. Watch for geese, and gulls.
I live in Waterloo & went to this park for the first time in Guelph & I gotta say it is one of the beautiful park I have seen so far. It is well maintained & very clean. They have a big play area for kids & amazing small waterfall. The washrooms were amazingly clean as well.
Great park, nice walking trails, fantastic playground.
Lovely garden and park for a complete family experience
Great place for kids .... My 2 year old thoroughly enjoyed himself on the train ride and the carousel.
It was an amazing experience. The scenic beauty of this place mesmerised me.
It's a beautiful place just a 7 minute walk from my house. It's peaceful. Great spot for the family in the mid summer there are lots of places to picnic or relax. The river from Guelph lake runs there the park so there are lots of birds and ducks. A mini train the kids can ride and the Mary-go-around only run in the summer when the kids are out of school. This park is huge so if you like to walk.
Beautiful park. It's a huge and perfect for the family outings.
Great place for the family and kids. There are a lot of geese which kids always love.
Lovely great place to walk snd pokemon if u like
I enjoyed visiting this park since there is plenty of parking and wide open partly shaded trails to walk on. The river running through the park was calming to look at along with the ducks, geese and heron doing their thing.
Very beautiful ..park for kids to play ..walk and. Enjoy nature . This park is so big that kids enjoy every where . Now its our favourite place to go whenever we r off .
Nice parking for evening and morning walks. The river runs right through the park. No cycles allowed while crossing bridge but only few people seem to follow it.
A beautiful place for a surprise birthday picnic. And a wonderful playground for the kiddos.
Awesome. Nice trails!
Some of these places are good and others not so good
Nice park for a walk or a run. I love the new floral garden addition. Very pretty Looking forward to rib fest returning hopefully next year!
Great park for younger and older kids. Can bike and cross woodlawn and get to a great bile trail. Goose poop was a big problem but last visit there was no geese around so maybe city finally taken steps to keep them away. Lots of shade for picnics.
My dog loves to walk here people friendly
Great park for hiking, cycling, relaxing, and decent fishing. Huge playground for the kids. Lots of space with great views of the river. Only downside ( like most parks ) is the people who throw trash everywhere. There's trash bins everywhere there! C'mon people...
Mountain biker paradise I love this place. A short ride to Gorba trail network and let the fun times roll.
This is the place where you can get away from the hectic life in Guelph. Close to everywhere in the city. A lot of playground for the kids. Shelter. Picnic table. Waterfall. If lucky then you could find the food festival ????????????
Nice park with lots of space. Has a small waterfall. Lots of benches yo sit and trees for shade.
A beautiful park whether to walk through or sit on one of the many benches to chat with a friend. Also many picnic shelters for gatherings of all sizes.
The day was gorgeous and lunch with two dear friends was wonderful. Park was so beautiful.
Lovely park, lots of room to spread out. And a beautiful place to walk your dogs.
We visited this park when visiting family in Guelph. It was beautifully maintained and clean. The trails and garden were very nice as well. Great place to take kids!

A crisp fall day, sun shining, people out for recreational walks. Great park
Park is situated just north of the downtown in Guelph and has lot's of free parking. Lot's of trails to choose from, plus paved areas to walk as well. It houses the enabling garden for accessibility. The river flows through the middle with a walk bridge. Children's play area is great and in warmer months there is a carousel ????
Love the park, relaxing ,enjoying the scenary of ducks and geese.
Riverside park is nice for quiet walks, swings for kids even an outdoor skating rink with lights. Or relax in your vehicle with snacks from near by DQ, Tim's or pizza. ❤❤
Place is nice but need more work to be done in gardening ,cleaning and maintenance
Nice newer park...lots of shade and flowers everywhere, nice waterway, lots of parking, clean-ish bathrooms, one way driving, neat space! First time we have been there!
I have lots of great memories of going here when I was a kid. But when we went there for a walk tonight, it was completely over run by geese and the lovely gifts they leave behind. The train and the merry go round are not running, but they have an excellent playground. The trails are in great condition.
Lovely and very family oriented.would highly recommend.
Always clean and well kept. Visited twice from an hr away drive.. lots of parking and picnic space.. beautiful river side spot to relax with the family and huge playground spacious for everyone esp during this covid time. Lovely display at …
Fantastic disc golf course. Highly recommend for a quick 9 or full 18.
A really fun park to have family time. The play structures are different and great for releasing energy. There is something for all ages. The structures are in the sun and can become quite hot, dress appropriately to not burn little legs on the slides.
Great play structures for the curtain climbers
Pretty good 9 hole disc golf course
