You have all the information of real people who know the products of Bear Creek Golf Club (Golf) in the area close to Grande Prairie (Canada).
As of day the business receives a rating of 4.1 out of 5 and that score was based on 103 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is very good, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the rating is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to put evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Golf corresponds to the category of Golf club.
Me and my partner are beginners to golf and have very little experience and just wanted to try out golfing before we commit so we came in and one of the managers or owners, I'm guessing, was being super passively aggressive mixed with a superiority complex towards us about using range balls on the course to which we had no knowledge about and he definitely could've been a whole lot nicer and friendly about letting us know about that. Not everyone knows the ins and outs of a sport especially for beginners and that guy totally turned us off from ever coming back to Bear Creek and trying to learn again.
Today was suppose to be a great outdoor experience with the ladies as we drove from Fort Erie to enjoy this club as we heard great things about it as well as the amenities. We arrived on time but were placed in a large line up as the club clearly over sold the courses for the day. The covid plastic dividers were in place however, others had theirs removed and were completely fine with it. Others, being senior male figures. We began the course and immediately had people waiting on us. Just 3 ladies, 1 being a learner to the sport. The pressure built as we were working our way threw 3 holes, and people piled up. Keep in mind, this entire event was under a hour at the club. We spoke to the people behind us and made a deal on passing at the next par. Then the Marshall arrived, explaining we had to play threw and needed to hurry up. We explained we made a deal and he said it was too busy of a day to do that. The beer cart lady arrived and said that the club was a relaxed place and good environment for new learners. Well that proved wrong. He then barked at us again. Being 3 women, trying to enjoy a nice day of golf being followed and shunned after paying like everyone else; it was clear we were not welcome. The atmosphere was hostile and not enjoyable at all. How do you expect to have new faces when you dont allow them to experience and practice the game? We were not disruptive or shouting like the hooligans group of men behind us, but yet we were being bullied. We left on the 4th hole. The man in the office was very kind, and stated they over booked. He gave us a refund but the day was shot and its want even 1130. Thankyou for showing your hospitality in true form.
Solid coarse and greens. Course was in fantastic shape, even at the end of the season.
Awesome golf course. They also have delicious food that they cater. Had a few events through work and food has always been really good. Their event venue can accommodate quite a few people and very clean area.
Went to a wedding here and it's a very pretty location
Great place to golf. Easy going staff and 27 holes. Beverage cart girl was fun.
Greens are always on point ! And the price is fair! You can choose from 3 different 9 holes and they're all amazing to play , lots of par 5s
Course was in great shape, greens were excellent. A little short from the tips, plays under 6000 but the layout is solid. If you are in Barrie definitely check this course out.
We had our wedding here in October. Not only was it beautiful---- everyone was so helpful and friendly. A huge thank you goes out to Lauren for all of her hard work. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with great, friendly, supportive staff--- this is the place to go. I never once was worried about how our day was going to be on there end. It was perfect!!!
Decent course but with rough greens
Fantastic. Great service thru & thru, inside & out....Very well kept course. Challenging but not overly. Will play again.
We played our family annual golf tournament last weekend at this course. The course had the slowest bumbiest greens I had ever encountered. They had not been cut or rolled. You could also not distinguish the fairways from the rough. I feel …
Nice course
Great course for your local charity golf tournament. The staff manages it all. Easy to get to. Close to Barrie.
The Events Centre is very open and decorated lovely during the holiday season. Friendly staff who are very accommodating and go out of their way for you. Bathrooms are nicely done and spacious.
It was an awesome experience playing with my brother and two other Bear Creek members...great day on a beautiful course with some challenging holes..
Nice facility and friendly staff.
We got married at Bear Creek Golf Club this past July and the service we received was fantastic! Our event planner, Shannon, was very professional, friendly and great to work with! She made herself available when we needed her help and was very accommodating. The event center is beautiful and has a large deck off the front with seating. The food was delicious. Our bartender, Leslie, was great and very friendly. The price was great for the excellent service we received! Highly recommended for a wedding or any event!
Best golf in the area hands down great staff and grounds a perfect!!
Great course and great staff, we had a fantastic time, always do!
Great golf course 3 - 9 hole courses Greens and fairways are in great shape. Well taken care of. Staff in clubhouse seemed a little dizzy, but won't stop me from going back.
Had an awesome day of golf. Greens were in top shape, beautifully groomed and the back 9 is my favourite! Food we very good too! And lots of cold beer.
Camped here for two years for work. Great location and good prices!
I have recently played three courses in the Barrie area. I currently live in Vaughn but will be moving to this area in September. I'm an avid golfer and thought I would write a review for each course hoping to get some responses from members/public players to help make my decision. Obviously my review is on one round of golf at the course. I played Bear Creek on Tuesday July 1st with a friend from work. I loved the layout of the course and know there is the option to play 3 nines. Course was busy as expected on a holiday. Greens rolled great and the fairways in good condition. I found the proshop staff to seem a bit out of sorts with communication to starter. Give the course I played with the "island green" an "A" rating. Kudos to the maintenance staff. Give the food a "B". Had a burger and it was just ok. Overall very satisfied and can see myself playing there again.
We really enjoyed our day on the course. My son came close to an ace.
Great course first time there will be back many more times
Pretty rough fairways, couple of greens were in good shape. Nowhere to wash your balls!
Great golf course but when I golfed on Father's Day with my wife the starter Marshall made us drive the golf cart with a plastic shield between us. We were not happy about this and the Marshall said we must have it.This is BS and very rude and this needs to change. Everywhere else we do not need a plastic shield. I guess you picked the wrong plastic devider but you could have some carts with out them? We see it as being lazy????
Drove every green and then 3 putted. I need lessons. And more beer! Wheres the cart girl?!
Great 27 hole course that challenges every type of player.
Nice open course.friendly folks.Excellent Conditions.
Value for money. Most cost efficient course in town. Friendly staff
Nice little 18 hole course. Reasonable prices. Also has a driving range.
Well kept & organized. Couple of holes are shoehorned in but still an excellent course. I'm a real golfer and I will go back.
The course is immaculate and very challenging absolutely loved the course and the friendly staff but the fact the course was packed with people was not not favourite finishing a hole to have people hitting and 4 carts waiting to shoot on the next hole was a brutal golfing experience we started at 2:56 and by 5:25 we were on the 7th hole. The organization definitely needs work and for that reason I will probably not come back.
One of the best courses in Barrie area. I really like the fact they have 27 holes. The course is well kept, carts ride nice. Looking forward to many more rounds in the years to come.
Good place to golf and practice on the driving range ???? great amount of balls for price too
Love this course
Decent price, usually in really good shape. Relaxed and fun, not full of pompous golfers.
I play in the Keg Monday Night Men's League at Bear Creek! It's a great course, fantastic management, and staff. The course is always in top condition and three nines means we get a good variation playing each course less than 9 times a year. Huge clubhouse is GREAT for tournaments, weddings and parties! Keep up the GREAT work!
A fantastic little course to play. The Pro Shop staff are knowledgeable and the Club staff are friendly. Drink prices in the Club are on par for most golf courses. Recommended.
Played here many times this summer. Their 27 hole golf tournaments are a great bargain price wise and always a lot of fun.
so so... just cheap.... ^^
Really great course that isn't too hard or too easy. Great membership options for 50% rounds!
Excellent golf course with holes that utilize different skills without being overly challenging. Well kept and maintained throughout all of the course as well. Staff were extremely welcoming and professional. Looking forward to more rounds of golf here!
Greens are rolling nice ????????
Great condition fairways and greens. The greens are very small, postage stamp style, and also have tricky undulations which really makes you keep your approach shots below the hole. Food was great as well, very friendly and accommodating staff.
The course is great for this price range and the staff is on point!
A little too expensive and the GPS you can't even drive on the golf course ride the cart path . bull charging when only one person is on the card
Great course with some nice challenges. Staff is fantastic. Been playing here for 25 years, it's a hidden gem.
$78 for half a kart and 18 holes. On a course that has garbage fairways, greens and t-boxes. For a course that gets flooded. Terrible. I'll spend the same or a bit more cash and go to country club or dunes.
Nice goĺf course and it has a everyone parking
Cheap compared to the alternative location is fairly convenient.
12 years and counting great people and courses
Course condition was perfect. But Mr Drew please have a conversation with your staff about tee time rates and have them in the know..I and someone else called for a tee time rate ..we both where bounced around and finally spoke to someone..we were told the same rate. But When we arrived it was changed..I have a suggestion...have a email confirmation for tee time booking..so there is no confusion... Always enjoyed the course Thanks
To expensive for its own good. Patchy greens and muddy fairways. Not busy during the weekdays so good place to go for a quite round during the week.
Nice course. Well kept. Had the best steak here.
Absolutely blown away, the course is beautiful. Groomed perfectly. Definitely a hidden gem.
The events area is very nice and well maintained. Staff are very nice and inviting. The food was okay, not really anything I would write home about but overall I've always had a good time here.
A beautiful 27 home course. Offers challenge and forgiveness on the various holes. The staff are always welcoming and knowledgable.
Had a membership for the summer of 2017 and quite enjoyed playing here as it’s not too difficult a course if you are new to golfing. The course has 3 - nine hole courses to play which keeps it interesting. It is a very well maintained course and the staff are all terrific. Memberships are very reasonable but drop in rate is expensive. What I didn’t like about this course and why I didn’t buy a membership a 2nd year, is that they have so many leagues playing here we always had to play the same course because the other 2 were so busy. Even though we played the less desirable course it seemed the majority of the time we had to wait on every hole even though we had a booked tee time. Maybe there’s not enough time in between bookings?
Nice courses, great food, ample parking
This course is so beautiful! We golf there quite frequently. We were in a tournament a couple of weeks ago, and it was great! The staff was lovely, and everything went off without a hitch. They kept the group's spread out very nicely so you weren't waiting on each hole. We also had dinner there and it was fantastic! Roast Beef, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, veggies, and Caesar salad. So yummy! I would recommend this course to everyone! It's such a great atmosphere.
This is a favorite when I'm back in the area. Greens well maintained, helpful and friendly staff. A great challenging course.
Nice facility
I haven't done the golf course yet but the shooting range is quite nice
Absolutely love this course, it's difficult enough to give most golfers a fun challenge but not brutal enough to make you want to kill yourself, and for the price, you really can't complain, Bear Creek may become my new home course.
The course is great also the people and food were all that I or anyone else could want
Never lets me down. Coarse was maintained nicely. The girls behind the bar are fantastic! I think I have more fun on the 19th hole then golfing, they have created such a fantastic atmosphere in the clubhouse.
Awesome course. Well kept greens and fairways. Staff and Marshall were very friendly. Will definitely golf there again
Our second time attending their Christmas Dinner Dance. As always, good food, good friends, and good music. Highly recommended.
Such an enjoyable day. Very impressed with their Covid19 preparations and the instructions given. Course is in great shape as usual. Going back soon!
It’s unacceptable to force twosomes of strangers to play together right now. All of these covid protocols and you jam the course and force people to play with individuals they do not know. No more overbooking! Let people play with who they …
Great place to golf.. my Family had a great time.
Excellent place to play. Course will not beat you up yet it is fair. Always in excellent condition , probably one of the best consistently maintained courses you will play on. You need to experience it to believe it. Kudos.
One of the most well maintained golf courses in Simcoe County!
Good course
Reasonable golf club
Nice little track. Always a great tournament host. Gender friendly, fairly flat course that is walkable, if that's your preference. Worth the drive to the outskirts of Barrie and Angus.
Had a great golf experience here. However, when ordering lunch at the end of the 8th hole it would have been nice if the clubhouse server told me my burger and friend's wings already came with them instead of ordering 2 more fries on top of that.
Great course for any caliber. You can make a mistake and recover most times as it is quite forgiving. Green fees seem a bit expensive but EVERY industry has their COVID TAX. I won't let that stop me from returning!
New member this year. Wonderful staff in pro shop and dining area. Have played all 3 nines and have not been disappointed. Course in very good shape, greens could be a little faster!
Came here after seeing all the great reviews. I wasn't all that impressed with 1 particular thing. Course was ok. Staff was ok. Most teeboxes were uneven and greens were poor to avg at best.
Excellent , well kept and maintained course .. truly worth the money and most definitely recommend it and will most definitely play it again
The course is nice, if a little pricey. We golfed on a Saturday, late morning, didn't see the beverage cart until mid 18th hole
Great friendly staff!! The Marshall today (June 19) couldn't have been a more friendly fellow. Kind courteous and very understanding. He was very accommodating and I appreciated his couth. Kudos to you for making me want to return to your golf course in the near future.
From the moment i walked in i wasnt treated nicely the pro shop staff were extremly rude. The person at the kitchen was rude. The course is nice but for a "challenging course" as the pro shop says ita not worth the money. Will never come back and will tell anyone thinking about it to stear clear of this golf course.
A course that knows exactly what it is, a mediocre course with appropriately priced green fees. In saying that it is a very nice course that I enjoy playing. Greens and fairways are well kept and most of the bunkers are in good condition. It's a little on the short side (specifically the older holes). The small greens and the decent layout on the older South course do provide some difficulty. I recommend doing the South/Island, although some people believe the 7/8 holes in central make it better than the South, but I strongly disagree. The rest of the central the worst part of the course.
3 nines Well maintained. Interesting layout Pleasant staff Moderate price
I love Bear Creek, it's a bit more of a casual course, but will still provide a challenge. The new events centre is top notch, and can accommodate a pretty nice group
Great course
First time golfing there greens are good everything about it is very excellent
Horrible golf experience. We weren’t told when we paid that there were 3 holes washed out, but were still charged for 18 holes of golf and 18 holes for the cart. Asked about it afterwards and the same person who rung us in said she told us there were only 15 holes. When we mentioned that we were never told that she said we could have just played the front nine twice if we wanted 18. Poorly managed situation, poor first impression.
Great course experience!
Enjoyed our round of golf today - course is in good shape !
Great course, friendly staff and things run smoothly
Purchased a membership here this year! Early start to the golf season. The staff here are amazing and the grounds crew really make it a great place to golf!
Friendly staff. Good course and amazing staff. Took clients here and they absolutely loved it. Beer cart was active and the service was amazing. I would recommend and definitely will be back (with or without the underpar deal that we used).
Great course grounds are in amazing condition. Great for adverage golfers not to challenging, island green is alot of fun if you have the change to play there i would definatly recommend
Did not tee off til over 20 minutes after our reservation time. Then had to wait on every shot. Very disappointed.
Its a casual and family friendly course. Great for beginners to learn, and families with small children. It is not the most challenging, or most aesthetically pleasing course in town, but I believe it is a perfect balance of difficulty, beauty, and price. This is my preferred course and I try and go at least every other week
May 3rd. Course was looking quite good considering how early in the season it is. The staff in the clubhouse are very friendly and it made for an enjoyable round.
Fantastic 27 hole course. Well maintained. Great marshalls keep pace of play.reasonable fees.
Will not ever go back! Went out to have a wonderful day of golf on a beautiful day and was treated horribly by some of the stuff. This is not the first time that this has happened and it ruined the rest of our day. If you want to golf go somewhere that they treat you better.
I have never left a review, but after today’s experience at Bear Creek I felt it would be fitting. I have worked at a golf course before and I totally understand that booking mistakes can happen, however my entire party today was extremely dissatisfied by the service we received when we arrived for our tee time on this Saturday afternoon. They had only given us one slot when we had called in to make a tee time for three people, so our tee time was double booked (again, mistakes happen, that’s fine). When we tried to work with them to find a solution we were blown away by the rude and abrupt customer service and how unwilling the staff was to admit they had made an error. Eventually they did let us play, but it was a very unprofessional encounter. It’s a decent golf course, but we will not be returning.
Great place to golf. I will be getting another seasons pass next year. It's nice to have 3 courses of 9 so you can change it up. The course has some challenging holes (I'm still learning so for those of you experienced golfer you won't …
Great course vary nice staff ! Always awesome day playing there with awesome friends !????
100% better than the start of the year
Cheap rates and decent golf. The drainage could be a bit better as it's often quite wet.
Played this course alot in the last 2 years EXCELLENT condition ..challenging.. however not too difficult... need to make proper club selection and place ball. Great food in club house and great staff throughout course ..
Course is a good layout and usually pretty good but I feel like i'm in high school with all of the Marshall's always checking up on you. Not a big fan of paying to get supervised to play golf
Good course to play
we were a ladies 4some playing here yesterday and was directed to play the Central/South courses. We checked the score card which shows the distance of Red tee being less than 4200 yards and the white tee distance is 5100. Our handicap is in the low 20’s so we know we can handle the white tee. While 2 ladies have teed off, starter Bob rushed toward us and stopped us from teeing off. He wanted to move us to the Red tee. We told him our reasoning to tee off the white but his response was accusing: “ but you’ve been standing here for 5 minutes”. Obviously we had to wait for the group in-front of us to clear our hit zone before we tee off. Then he waved his hand in the air as if to shut me up and said, “well you have to catch up to the group in front of you and when I catch you falling behind, I’ll move you to the red tee. “ Then he left. This was a threat and very distracting as we thought the whole time we were being watched but In fact we’ve taken photos that we had to wait at least 2-4 minutes almost every hole for the group in front to clear. We reported this incident to the pro shop as soon as we finished 18 holes and our time was just shy of 4 hours having waited almost every hole. Larry the manager confirmed that it’s not a course policy that ladies must play red tees. We weren’t asked about our handicap and in his mind, this rude starter thinks women can only play 4000 yards. In this day and age when women golfers have done so well and is a big part of golf consumers, we can’t believe we ran into a starter like so. We were told by Larry that the owner Drew will call me regarding this whole shameful incident but I have yet to hear from him. Goodbye Bear creek you are in very bad books with a reputable Ladies golfers league in Toronto.
Went to the bear creek golf course for the first time aug 4th to begin a bachelor party it was only three of us the service in the pro shop was horrible the lady was very ignorant, we asked if we could pay for and take a third cart to speed us up a little offered to pay for the full carts to which we where told there’s no need and we where not getting one regardless of what we where paying. So what ever we just carried on once out on the golf course in my opinion it was very unkept. sand traps where filled with water which I can understand it’s been wet, but the ones that weren’t where dried and hard not even raked the grass was very long as well putting greens where in rough condition in my opinion. I personally will never visit this golf course again based on the service alone.
Excellent experience. Course, as always, in terrific shape. Drew and company deliver an enjoyable day every time.
Great service very friendly staff and very easy location to find
Bear Creek is fantastic. Three nines. Never the same 18. Recommend it even with covid trying to ruin our day.
Friendly helpful staff. Booked for a round tomorrow. I will review course after I play.
How can this course charge 70.00 with a cart the first week of the season 2021. Its a 5400 yard course with no range and a small clubhouse lol. Pace is always horrible . Small boring holes . Give your head a shake Bear Creek. Don't waste your time or money people . Go play somewhere else where they don't just jam up the course as soon as possible and charge ridiculous green fees.
Love the 18 or 27 holes to play and very reasonably priced. Great service, excellent food and a beautiful place to hold any event
Nice open course, fairly flat (walkable). Friendly staff! End of year so the price to golf was more than reasonable.
My second round there was as good as I hoped. Great shape, every hole has it's own value. Greens were fair , and in good shape. Best value for your money.
Nice staff, great restaurant. Low rv parking rates.
Can I fish your ponds please? I gave you a 5 star review
Great course and it was in great shape, nice day! Staff in restaurant could have been a little friendlier... but food and service were good.
In reference to the derogatory review about Bear Creek . Its a wonderful place to golf as well as very challenging . The fellow that was angry must not have noticed the other two people in the range shed when he went inside. After hitting his two balls as he stated ,I am wondering which balls did he hit before he broke his shaft ha ! . Wonder if his golf club was ok. We may know that guy as I believe he is Mr. Ron . His first name is More..
Great course at a great price. Fast greens and well maintained fairways. Wide open spaces with forgiving tree lines
Pretty rough but it's priced fairly for that
Friendly staff, well maintained grass and awesome food.
3 - 9's to chose from. Played it multiple times a year. Kept is good shape. Friendly staff. Needs a driving range.
Great course!
We have golfed at the Bear Creek Golf Course in past years and had a good experience. We just went for the first time this year and won’t be back. When booking I didn’t realize that there was a drastic difference in cost when booking over the phone. Their online booking price was $50 for 1 person with cart. Because we booked over the phone, the cost was $90. Nearly double the cost for a phone booking was a massive turn off to start. Once on the course it was in terrible shape. Very wet and muddy even though we’ve had no recent rain. Sand traps full of water while others were rock hard. Greens in very poor patchy condition. Grass clippings left in areas as well as big ruts and dead patches in sections of the fairways. This course is way over priced for the condition it’s in, especially in comparison to other less expensive better maintained courses in our city.
Great place just got home from a tournament Staff was great very organized.
