REVIEWS OF The Docks Driving Range IN Etobicoke

Ken Thomas

First time trying it out ???? Excellent for first timers but saw lots of people practicing. Would definitely recommend.

Joey F (J)

Good place to spend an hour and smash balls. No limit for balls. Half hour or hour is available.

Ronan Frawley

The only driving range downtown! Great atmosphere with sports, fireplaces and tons of volleyball as a backdrop. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is price. Post-COVID the structure changed and it's charged by the hour. If you're like me and can get carried away, you'll spend an absolute fortune to swing your clubs. It doesn't keep me from coming back at least twice a week, though. Always a good time.

Christine

Fun way to spend the afternoon. We waited in line for about 15 minutes. They have canned drinks available with a decent selection. The price makes sense considering you’re downtown Toronto. …

Erin Zhang

Love the docks! Drew is so helpful, witty, and kind. Great customer service! Also, Early bird is a great deal :p

Yonal Udagedara

During COVID-19 go before 8pm as they make bookings half an hour in advance. Other than that, a lively, fun place. Reasonable prices.

samantha turner

Love this place but they could do so so much more...makes me think they are going to sell in the near future so they won't upgrade anything. food would be wicked.

R T

won't go if they continue charging hourly rate. it is price gouging. I will take my money to Markham golf dome. one Jumbo bucket I spent two hours there and they have putting and chipping area.......

Sother Edouard

It was a good place to practice. There have friendly and fun to talk to staff.

Chloe Williams

Cool place to practice golf. There is a bar with a fireplace you can grab a beer after the practice. Nice crowd.

Ravee Chen

Very expensive but what do you expect from city golf. Good enough and long lines. 5 stars

Jay Kaufman

The food was generally good. The curried chicken skewers we ordered as a starter were a bit overcooked and dry as a result, but not with making a fuss over and sending back. The spring rolls were on point and both of our mains were delicious and large - to the point that we ended up having to take portions home. The service was a tad slower when their patio filled up, despite having maybe eight tables maximum and three servers, but this was during a pandemic so perhaps they were ironing out the kinks still since patios had only just opened up a week earlier. I'd there again, but probably take the food to go.

David Choi

Overpriced, terrible equipment and even worse food. I get you guys get business but I imagine it'd be easy to out compete for any newcomer with some common sense. The rental sticks are probably the worst I have ever used and the balls are from a dollar store or something. The food came out 30 minutes late and was super dry. On top of it all, everything is overpriced...

James Hicklin

Staff were great, and the covid protocols were efficient given it was prime time on a sunny Saturday. We waited maybe 20 minutes for a tee. $40 for an hour is fairly pricy and there is no grass - you are just hitting out into the dirt. …

Teener Wiener

This place is so cool! I've been a few times accompanying my partner. They have a nice outside bar and you get your beer cans in a paper bag. Places to sit even if you're not driving. They have great covid procedure. Pay for the half-hour instead of a bucket of balls. Staff are all super friendly!

Vishwa Patne

Played sand volleyball this August. Had a good time but honestly too crowded and barely spaced out courts. The balls of other courts kept coming in to our courts. Parking was packed. Access to ttc is 10 minutes walk. I dont like super crowded places that dont have enough distancing weather covid or not.

Matt Waller

It's okay, but I'm rating low because asking for tips to rent some balls is wrong.

David L

Balls were beat up for the prices they charged

Alan Falukozi

Convenient location to drop in and pay for the time spent. Perfect for a quick lunchtime escape to hit a few buckets and get a little bit of practice in before getting to those weekend games

Bradley B.

They've changed their rates from per bucket to per hour. They must either round UP to the nearest hour or at least the guy at the counter likes to give himself a tip. The only golf centre in downtown Toronto must feel like they can do whatever they want but I will be going to Centennial from here on out.

Thanasi V

Line was long but good price and unlimited golf balls, the host taking care of the line was quick and tended to all customers

Dickson Kwan

Extremely pricy compared to practically every other range.

Divya Shah

It has pleasant atmosphere. With golf course& sand volleyball. Charge is 35$ for two buckets of balls( 68*2) its awesome and there is not time limit

Jennette

A fun place to hang out and get some swings in. Never much of a wait for a pod and can have a drink while waiting or while hitting balls. Close to downtown and walking distance for lots.

Nat Ouellet

Packed a lot when we visited. Too cramped for my personal liking. If you enjoy loud pop music in speakers while you hit golf balls, you will fit right in. Make sure you install a good white plastic tee through the hole of your mat because some tees are too damaged and your golf ball will not stand properly. Fairly pricey per half hour or per hour but unlimited number of balls.

anish nagpal

A great place to have some fun and release that stress! And also learn golf! Visited for the first time and we were greeted very warmly and put on a waitlist. We got a chance to go in after about 30 mins and had insane amount of fun. While going in we rented 3 clubs in total a Right Driver and an Iron and a Left Driver but we returned the Iron because we didn’t need it. However, when we went after finishing to pay the bill, we were questioned (more like interrogated) about the existence of a 4th club which we never took in the first place. The guy at the bar looked at all of us individually despite the girl at the bar agreeing with us. Then he took the 3 clubs and threw them at the glasses at the bar nearby breaking a few and shouted. Never have we all gone to have fun and felt more unsafe. Then he stormed inside shouting something and breaking a few more glasses. Never heading back to a place like this. PS: If you do go, please take a picture of what you are being given and keep a record of it. Really disappointed with the person at the bar and the customer treatment.

Carmen Chan

Terrible customer service . To the man in blue shirt working on july 1 at 9:55 AM , he was rude and did not want to answer any questions. As a first time golfer and first time here, we naturally had alot of questions on the process and he ignored us and just told us to sit and wait our turn. We asked how long the wait is and he said i dont know, i asked just an approx time frame and he said i dont know. We eventually left because the service from him was terrible.

Vim Nanthee

Dru, avalon and the staff were amazing. Such a great environment full of diversity. Great way to just chill and smash balls ????????. Definitely coming back. Patio and dj live too.????????

Christine Custodio

Double deck driving range in the city with a mini putt, bar and arcade by the lake.

Victoria Borgacci

Great range!

Tanvir Duggal

The staff was super friendly but I would suggest the golf range needs some maintenance as some of the sticks had some looseness in them. But other than that the bon fire was awesome and the volleyball was just super cool.

Timothy Vrancic

It's a reasonable price at $40 an hour. Prorated too so you can golf as much as you'd like and not have to worry about getting billed a whole extra hour if you go over. Right now due to covid they're not offering food or pitchers but they have a good selection of canned drinks and mix drinks are available. Overall ball quality is good but don't expect a quiet environment to focus on your swing if you come at peak times.

Jordan Chard

Go here if you want to break your clubs on the rocks they call golf balls. Not even any dimples on the balls!

Regina

Staff made me cry! This place is ran by bullies.

Marcus H!!

This place is quite alright. Go carts are here for recreational use

David Culbert

Love this place. Crazy busy this past week and no organization of the patrons and no masks being worn. Normally though 5 stars. I love this driving range. If you're only hitting your irons, I suggest the 2nd level of mats....but when did it get do expensive...and they charge by the hour now! A night at the driving range and a drink is now easily a $50 night....probably closer to $60

Michael Yanni

The place is good but it’s not top golf. The service is great and the staff is very friendly

Colin Duncan

Only range in the city core basically. Ball lands on gravel but decent overall. Lots to do in the area.

Geordie Hancock

Get on the waiting list for the range and play some beach volleyball or grab a drink while you wait. They will send you a text when you're first in queue.

Faisal Kabir

Fun place for a fun evening with friends. Would recommend for the novice and beginner players only. Would not recommend for practice as the balls werr water filled and corroded. The bar could be a little cleaner as there were a lot of …

Eric Truong

Great weeknight outing. There's quite a bit of space and decent priced pitchers. Definitely recommend

Adam Bernard

Super fun place to practice your swing and getting game shape!

Ryan Muir

Safe. Good price easy location to find.

Christoff Alfonso

On my Bike traveling around the City of Downtown Toronto. Couldn't help but seeing how the view of the City is, so amazingly remarkable. To me it's breathtaking, it really is ????

Sam Li

Given the proximity to downtown, this is quite a nice place to hang out for some golf and and a beer. I (used to, pre-covid) play soccer here a lot and in the summers it's nice to stick around and smack a few balls over a pitcher with the boys...let's hope this can continue post-covid!

Dennis Robinson

Cool place to spend an afternoon. Driving range, volleyball courts, great Mexican food truck and several bars. It's hot so bring sunscreen and drink lots of water!

Kevin Pattison

Decent place to go if you're looking for a driving range in the city. There's a good amount of mats and a bucket of balls is $19 for ~70 balls. There are two levels of mats and if you're up top you're not allowed to use your driver or woods, so sometimes there can be a wait for the mats down on the lower level. The staff are pretty friendly and the bar is well stocked.

Arsalan

Horrible customer service. They mentioned 30 mins and I Waited for 30 mins, then asked politely how much longer do you think the wait is? the response was: I don't care how long you have been waiting, could be another 30 mins and I can't check for you! The whole second level was empty and still they kept people waiting. Try Markham Golf, much better facility.

Rob Canoe

It was my first time coming here to golf, great atmosphere, busy but great staff. Sam was amazing she walked us through everything and was so helpful to answer every question we had. Will definitely come back. Thanks

Thomas Liu

It’s like a parking lot turned into a temp driving range.

Darcy Donelle

Pay by the half-hour, full hour - great experience! But, what stands out for me is the bar staff. Excellent, fun and engaging staff. Docks Driving Range is great if you're looking to work on your game or simply have fun with a group of friends.

David Phillips

Your charged by the minute. 0.77 cents. Lots of parking. Jameson and Tequila shots $6.00. Friendly staff. Golf lessons are available. Great date idea.

inkiyad rahman

Great experience. The staff is very helpful. Great time spending place. Beautiful place.

Lucy G

It’s not a fancy range but good enough for hitting and watching the ball flights. Better than some indoor facilities if you want to track the actual distance and directions. Friendly staff. $25 per hour and prorated after is very reasonable. Heating works well. Mats are in fair condition. It’s in downtown core so try to avoid rush hours. Also, music inside is very loud. You won’t be able to concentrate if you want to practice seriously. A good place for fun and get away from your work/home once a while.

Montana Haaan

Good times! Great atmosphere and great people. Definitely a staple of toronto.

Robbie Ure

All the top spaces are currently closed which isn’t mentioned on their website so we had a long waitlist. Phones aren’t always answered to check current wait times. Checked in during the early bird special but given the long wait times we had to pay full price once we finally played. Poorly run business and customer service.

Wherethe skymeetstheearth

Driving range review only: Not a good place to go if you golf. Balls are in horrible condition - they're completely scuffed, old, the mantles and cores are completely shot. It feels like you're hitting a cheap plastic ping pong ball with a bar of soap inside. The balls are so marred up from the backspin landing on a PAVEMENT fairway, you are left wondering... are you fading? are you drawing? Was it the ball, or you? You'll never know. BEWARE: The sand trap practice area down at the end near the water, hardly has any sand in it. There is a huge rock hiding beneath a layer of about 1 - 2 inches of sand; I now have 2 small gouges on the underside of my TaylorMade sand wedge. DO NOT USE sand trap practice. And it's a complete rip off. $27 for 2 medium buckets of fuzzy plastic balls. ***** You won't learn or improve anything at this place***** ***** and you'll damage your sand wedge ***** the mini putt and beach volley ball look fun.

Roman Medical Rehab

Love this place. Great atmosphere and good times.

C Frnz

Go-to downtown range. Solid mats and nice staff. Really appreciate their Covid precautions (spacing, ball sanitizing, etc.) - also love that they've moved to unlimited balls rather than buckets. Will be a sad day when this gets eaten by condo developers.

Robert Vincent

Decent spot with lots of maps. Can get quite hot but the wind off the lake can cool it down. The balls aren't the greatest but it does the trick. Bar outside is nice post beers of volleyball.

Chris Jackson

I like the amount of targets to keep the game interesting and the staff was attentive.

Maciej Kaczmarek

Extremely unorganized, we waited in line for an hour. We are at the front the the line. A guy came around asked for our names and wrote them onto a list. We ended up near the bottom and had to wait another 30 minutes. There was no explanation in terms of how they were running things. Also $40 for an hour is redicilous. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Eugene Wilson

Very courteous staff helpful And professional

Prem Khatri

If you want to be treated like dirt and not human, go here. Not sure what his name was but bald dude with bad attitude treated us like garbage. I was fine to pay the expensive fee for convenience but this last experience was the last straw. I’ll take my business to a place that actually has some greenery and knows how to treat their customers.

Jacob Silver

They have a great set up for covid and the cold times with heated mats and some cover for the mats. Awesome place!

Curtis Muller

Great spot to hit a few balls. A little pricey, but expected for being located in downtown Toronto. Lots of space and no reservations needed

Robert Chretien

Expensive and old carpet, but love the old school hip hop vibe!

Alfred L

Not too many places downtown Toronto where you can hit a couple of golf balls around and have a pint. Enjoy it before it turns into another condo.

Ricardo Henry

Good facility but a little too busy for my liking.

Kevin

Pretty bare bones but gets the job done. They do make you sign a waiver form which was a first at a driving range for me.
