This course has been my nemesis for the 8 times I have played it over the past 20 years. There are a few holes that require thoughtful course management. It's probably the best value for a public course closest to downtown Toronto. The twelfth and sixteenth holes in particular will require strategy.

The staff at the pro shop and restaurant are always professional. Not enough words go out to the maintenance crew as well - all are very knowledgeable and understanding of the golf course and what needs to updating. Course was in great shape over the past 3 summers - even for a public course. Only downside is pricing - however that problem is solved with Golfnow!

I played Lakeview yesterday and wanted to give a huge shout out to the grounds crew for the shape of the course. The fairways are absolutely immaculate and the greens were close to perfect. This is such a gem to play and a bargain too. The pro shop was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. To ALL of the staff there, well done!

Nice golf course with the exception of a couple holes. Appears they were forced to shoe-horn retrofit the twelfth around the apartment buildings, leaving a short, downhill, blind tee-shot and a blind uphill dogleg into the green, outfitted with a 15 foot flagstick. Not a huge fan of the short par-3 camelback 17th either. That said, the Canadian Open was played here in the early days (30s or 40s) so it does have 16 pretty solid, classic golf holes. My other beef is the rate. Definitely on the expensive side in terms of value for what you get. But...location, location, location. Worth a round to decide for yourself if you haven't played it.

Played a couple of rounds at Lakeview in September of 2021 and it's a great value for an urban golf course. Set in a very nice valley parkland setting that has a creek and some elevation changes providing extra challenges (ask the starter for playing tips if it is your first time there). Conditioning is very good in the fairways and on the greens which are smooth, fast and need careful reads. Touchless fountains are found at some tee boxes so you never are short of water, nice touch! Very walkable, no power towers, no overhead bridges, trains whizzing by certain holes with regularity and some houses along a few holes to still remind you that you that you are indeed in an urban setting, and some impressive wild mushrooms. Good times playing there.

I was floored by how rude and snobby the course staff acted towards our group of experienced, but amateur golfers. Not because of protocol or etiquette, but they were making fun of the skill level of our group loudly. The starter and his buddy (an arrogant member) loudly made fun of some older guys in my group as they teed off on hole one. A set of our clubs fell off a cart as we approach the tee block and a few of us had a few bad first tee shots. The staff watching from the starter shed nearby mocked us by doing a clown dance, and singing carnival music as we teed off. He questioned "if this was real life" and loudly proclaimed they "felt like they were in the twilight zone." Because some possibly below average golfers were about to start a round? I kindly but sternly asked the man to stop arrogantly making fun of our group and re-iterated to him that no this is not the twilight zone. He grumbled but eventually stopped. I realize there is a certain level of skill necessary to golf at some advanced courses but no one in our group was terrible, nor did they have an issue taking our money. (Not a competitive green fee either based on the quality) Teeing off in front of a lineup at hole one on any level course can be stressful or nerve racking. Having staff loudly mock you in front of others does not help and is unacceptable. We ended up cutting our round short and I will make sure to not return to this course again.

A beautiful course with wonderful design. While out on the course we ran into a coyote! It was not at all agressive and just lay down in the rough while watching us golf. An incredible experience and I would love to play here again

This place is great! It's a city run course but it is pretty and will maintained. It is more reasonably priced than most of the courses in the area. It offers some unique hole layouts (the twelvth hole!) and because of the area around, some of the fairways are tighter than I was expecting. The staff are excellent at explaining the current situation and handling it as well. Only complaint was that the drink cart wasn't on the 6th hole as we were told it would be.

I love playing this track. Greens and fairways are well maintained. The course is walkable which is a bonus. Note, there are 2 greens for #17. If you use a GPS, double check which tee (upper or lower) you are hitting from.

This is a beautiful golf course and centrally located. However, the service is truly horrible. Rate of play was unbelievably slow and despite being told a marshal was on the course, there was no marshal. When we called the clubhouse to send one out, there was no answer. They've clearly started to cut corners as golf has become increasingly popular.

Not a bad course for a city owned facility. Conditions were decent. Perhaps a little pricey when you add a power cart, but price is likely relative to it's close proximity to downtown Toronto. Would have liked to see the drink cart a little more frequently. We only saw her twice on a hot day.

Great social distancing, excellent pace of play, challenging course, one day will likely be my new home course. The booking system is very tricky, hard to come by available tee times when they open the slots for 'preferred members/residents' two days earlier than others. Watch out for those teeing off at the 10th and 11th tee boxes, they cross the main roadway into and exiting the course. Hole #12 - I think, dog leg right around the apartments is by far is my favorite.

Lakeview Golf Course is overpriced. The course is a Stanley Thompson design whose features have been altered to accommodate higher handicap players. The back 9 is more interesting because it has been left close to the original plan.
