With 13 of 12 months a year being snowbound, a person has to keep his swing in check somehow around here. High tech equipment, eager to please staff and a wonderful selection of beer (for a virtual golf place) makes Golfzon is one of the best places in town to practice during the winter months. Food choices could be broadened but still make par.

If you’re looking to go virtual golfing, and have a place that you and your friends will talk about for weeks after, go to this one! If however, you’re going there with the hopes of enjoying yourself, this is not the place. My pal and I arrived on time for a 3 PM golf session that we had booked for two hours. Of course the room was not ready, and while the owner farted around for an additional 15 minutes to make it ready, we finally got in at 3:15 pm. As we walked down to the back room, we couldn’t help but notice that while this is the only golf place that is not conveniently located right beside a rub and tug, it certainly reminded us of one. I’m not sure if it was the kitschy decor, the mismatched furniture and paint or perhaps all the weird accordion doors going to various places or perhaps it was the bathroom reeking of stale piss. There are many things about this place that make you think that with the right “special handshake” you could get your shaft polished. But wait… We haven’t even made it into the room to get the introductory course on how to operate the equipment. We have golfed all over the city, but never have I had to waste 10 minutes having someone disrespectfully describe how to work the equipment. I would’ve thought that the auto advance of the golf balls might have sped up the play, but in fact it did quite the opposite . My pal and I play 36 holes at Evolution golf every week and it takes much longer here. It was kind of funny when we asked the owner for a drink, and he told us to get it ourselves. He showed us where the beer cooler was, and explained to us that you take your drinks and then put your bottle caps in the little tray that corresponds to your room. I’m still on the fence as to whether or not this was a feature, or a fault. There was a certain convenience in the fact that once you came out of the bathroom, and we’re done catching your breath from holding it while being in there, that you could just open the beer cooler door, grab your drink and head back into your room. When we were done playing the 18 holes, the owner quickly raced into the room and tried to reset up the machine and kick us out. Even though he had started us 15 minutes late, and there was 15 minutes left before 5, he felt that we should get out. We indicated, that we paid for two hours, and that he could just start the round again and we would keep playing until we were done our two hours. While he did so in the most condescending manner possible, we did play a little bit more. We actually did still left early, because we weren’t really enjoying ourselves anyway, so we thought we just get out of there. Did I mention that there are cameras in the room, and that he’s watching you?… Creepy…so creepy. The only ray of light in this otherwise dismal experience, was that it was less expensive than some of the other places that we’ve played. If the owner is in such a big hurry to get everybody out of there so that he can get the next guy in, perhaps he could remove the tip option from the debit machine... I can’t imagine that anybody uses it.

Was excited to try this out for the first time. Made a reservation online for 2 people, same household only, all good, looking forward to it. Then get a call from them asking me to move my reservation, I couldn’t because we had dinner reservations so the guy tells me to cancel the reservation, tells me I don’t understand because it’s my first time here. Very rude on the phone, will find somewhere else to spend my money

Great first impression. Very fun experience but humbling knowing how bad I really am at golf. But that's the point of this facility, to fine tune and practice your swing so that you're ready for golf season. Love the automatic ball setter and the technology in your private room. Screen was pretty beat up and I couldn't get comfortable with the putting as I was standing on 2 different heights of turf. Otherwise this was a great experience. The service here is phenomenal, operator was genuinely kind and helpful. Wings and dry ribs are pretty good, bit pricy though.

The man that works here is very nice. I really wish the simulators were better. They are very inaccurate and they also have very old and crap golf balls for you to hit. It has so much potential but just needs TLC. The sushi is good as well.

The owner is awesome. He gave me a bunch of free advice on my swing. Advised me not to spend my money on lessons My first round I shot a 109, I’m 4 rounds in and today I shot an 87. Great service, cold beer, nice rooms, automatic tees. Great spot

Great place with incredibly friendly and helpful owners. I am a long time golfer, and find the screens are amazingly accurate and a pleasure to play. Great selection of courses. The people who complain here are probably golf legends in their own minds, and don't want to accept the fact they probably just suck at golf !! Always clean with good food and decent beer selection - prices are fair for everything, and parking is decent.

Been to all other indoor golf facilities and stopped going until this one. Hands down the best indoor golf in Edmonton. Better system than golfzon south. I think it's a different owner? I would be going here every week now. Next best thing to palm spring. Plan ahead though. I did walk-ins three times but there were never a space available. The man is awesome and the food is just fantastic. Sushi is amazing. I just cant believe I just heard of this place now from my coworkers. The owner's english isnt perfect but he is a fantastic host and gave me free swing tips that made difference to my swings.

A pep peeve: hire more people..... we had to wait quite a bit to get in but it was totally worth it... I have been to the other golf simulators. But I ain't never going there again.. loved how you never have to pick up the ball and the selection of beers.

I've never played virtual golf before and I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was! I'm a total beginner in golf too. If it's your first time, the host offers a quick lesson and runs through everything with you to make sure you have a good time. It's a fun place to hang out with your friends if you're looking for something to do!

This place was recommended to me by golfer instructor. I recommend 100 percent. My stress reliever since COVID.I feel safe exercising and machines are very accurate. Not going to lie, in other places, I used hit very well- it wans a confidant booster but probably based on false measurement. no wonder I did terribly on the real courses. but here my score is very similar to the real golf courses. I have been working on improving my swings and I finally see some real changes! I love the camera that shows my swings slowly so I can correct it right after. Could you add poutine, pizza and steak to the menu?

[UPDATE] with much difficulty with evolution golf’s website booking me in on the wrong day, we chose to visit Golfzon and actually play the sim and see how enjoyable it was. It was actually incredibly fun and interactive. I enjoy the “sand” and “rough” simulation mats that are also placed there. Not once did I hit a ball and it “did not register”. I enjoyed it much more then evolutions SIM. The amount of space for right & LEFT handed golfers is a plus, no near misses on the wall. The whole ball auto raising up on the tee and knowing wether the right or left needs to go up as you play, along with the adjustable tee hight is absolutely genius. I’ll be booking hhere for all my future simulator needs. ———— I booked a tee time at the end of a Saturday night for first hung Sunday morning. Unfortunately I was unable to make it as more important issue arose for myself and my 2nd. GolfZon proceeds to call me 3 times (9:07, 9:17, 9:25) and leave me two messages. He then called me twice more 10:20 & 2:27pm. Borderline harassment for a no show. We obviously did not intend to not come in however we were unable to call in. Still shouldn’t results in 5 phone calls and 2 voicemails. Won’t be visiting this sim, I’ll stick to Evolution as I always have.

Going on my second year of golf and have been trying different simulators around the city to warm up for the season. Golfzon West is the best I've come across; Not just because of the simulator technology, but also because of Charles. He is an extremely hospitable man and really makes an effort to ensure his patrons have a great experience each and every time. Definitely let him choose a course for you as he hasn't steered us wrong yet! If you are considering checking out an indoor golf simulator do yourself a favour and go to Golfzon West. I guarantee it will be your new favourite place to swing the clubs in the off-season!

There's nothing more enjoyable for us than a good plate of sushi with golf especially when I just came back from palm springs.

Only been here three times already. Pebble beach course, ausgusta and spyglass are exact as the real one. Much cheaper than the real courses. The machines are very accurate. I don’t have to pick up the balls. I don’t have to wait for people ahead of me to finish. There is air conditioning and cool beer to smooth me. The owner is a good guy. Doesn’t push any food or drinks on me unlike other places. Brought my client with me and they loved it. I don’t have time in the evening. Can you also open in the early morning? Early bird here.

Just went in and played on the driving range to get distances for my clubs, the owner is super nice and most importantly the simulators are the best I've used, other simulators you feel scared about hitting the walls/roof with the club but not here, also the auto ball feature is amazing and the sensor is able to pickup high flop shots, something which other sims cannot do.
