I've been visiting Birdies and Buckets for the past 2 years, quite often as I have been working on my swing, and even more so during the pandemic.
Positives:
- The service here is excellent, staff at the front desk are very friendly, always smiling.
- Pricing is super competitive, especially if you get a punch card.
- The majority of the mats on the top floor very good.
- Heaters above majority of stalls on the top floor
- The short game area is really nice and a great place to practice up to 50 - 60 yard pitch shots, chpping, bunker shots etc.
- The par 3 is a great place to take the kids, and also practice your own short game. All you'll need is a wedge and a putter.
- Great pro shop Titan Golf.
Negatives:
- No heaters on the bottom floor, so the top floor tends to get crowded during the colder months.
- The range balls, in my opinion need to be replaced. I can understand how difficult a procedure this may be, however the balls seem heavy, potentially water logged due to the terrain and drainage (or lack thereof) of the field. My distances at other ranges are definitely 15 - 20 yards longer, and I'm not the only one to notice this.
- There does seem to be some work done in recent times to the field, and I believe levelling and grading to stop water pooling may help with the quality of the golf balls.
Overall I give this facility a 4/5, and I will keep attending. The service is excellent, competitive prices and generally good mats. I would only hope that the owner invests in new golf balls and/or repairing the field to keep the balls in better condition.
