You will see all the feddbacks of real people who are buying the services of Dundee Resort & Golf Club (Golf) in the area of Dalhousie (Canada).
At this moment this business gets a score of 3.9 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is very positive, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to give their score when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Golf belongs to the category of Golf course.
Very nice large room comfortable bed and amazing views. Very friendly service staff adequate food with timely service.
We stayed for the stay and play package which was great deal. The room was fine. The golf course had lovely views, the greens were recently sanded and aerated which did make them a bit tricky. I would give 5 stars if it wasn’t for the food, we ate in the clubhouse and the service was slow and the menu items we ordered weren’t available, the quality of the food was very poor. The breakfast was fine in the dining room and it was included I’d probably stay here another time but I wouldn’t eat here again.
Too far out of the way , we didn't stay there .
A great golf course with a beautiful view and the night sky has more stars than I've ever seen before. There are also lots of other things to do with the family such as paddle boating or kayaking to an island with a hidden treasure to spending time at the pool or hiking through the trails up the hills.
The decor was tired. And the wifi only worked in a couple of rooms. There was also no cell service in the area so be prepared for an off the grid vacation! Food was soso - very standard and high priced for the quality. However the staff was very accomodating and service oriented. I stayed 2 nights.
(Translated) The location is relatively remote and there are fewer nearby attractions. It is purely a good place to take a vacation. There is a big lake in front and you can rent a boat to go to the event. (Original) 地點較偏僻,附近景點較少。純粹是定點休假好地點。前方有個大湖,可租船去活動。
Went here for a family reunion this summer. The weather was amazing, the cottages were spectacular, and the resort itself was well maintained. Ironically, as I post this from my phone, my favourite portion of the trip was the lack of cellular reception and wi fi. It was really nice to disconnect for a few days and noy be glued to this thing. Made me appreciate more of my surroundings. Already looking to book again in the future!
Golf course was the most visually stunning I've ever played, although it's easy to lose balls when your skill level is as low as mine. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful above and beyond I would have expected.
Awesome food and great view
We have a yearly golf trip with co-workers to this resort. We currently have between 11-17 people who want to stay and play for the night. (On a Monday night at that) we requested cabins as we did not want to disturb any guests. The front desk turned us away as now they want anyone who stays in the cabins to stay at least two nights.
We stayed two nights at the hotel while attending a wedding. At first we were reserved to stay at the cottages that is managed by the resort. The cottages defiantly had a rustic camp feeling and was extremely hot due to the current heat wave and humidity. We were able to switch to a room in the hotel/resort. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was beyond reproach - this includes the staff that assisted with the wedding. I would recommend anyone to consider and shortlist this resort for a 'domestic' Canadian destination wedding. My only suggestion is to add mini fridges to the hotel rooms.
A series of mixed experiences left me a little puzzled at what to feature, so this will be a bit of a long write-up. The views are gorgeous, the golf course lovely. Most of the staff were friendly, helpful, and open, but some (as below) either indifferent or incompetent . The waterfront is terrific; sadly nobody seemed to avail themselves of the boats and canoes, but long hours and loads of availability were a nice plus! We stayed in a 2BR cottage. It was old, and really quite disappointing for the price paid, ESPECIALLY when contrasted to the newly renovated and upgraded cottage we got a look at; WOW, the new ones are NICE, WOW the old ones are NOT. OLD and torn bedding, paint peeling, perma-mold in shower stall, tiny almost useless kitchen (have to run power cords for toaster, kettle etc. basically INSIDE the sink?!). Tiny TV with no remote. Fridge positioned so every time you open door, hot water tank pilot blows out then re-ignites with a great whoosh of flame. We arrived to discover the previous tenants had left a cheeseburger on the grill, housekeeping must have liked it because it was not removed until the final day of our stay. The outdoor pool was a joke. FREEZING cold (you pretty much HAVE to heat an outdoor pool in the Maritimes guys; air temp drops to 13 degrees Celsius at night. When we arrived it was murky and algae filled, and never vacuumed during our stay. The indoor pool area was a little more inviting but again poorly maintained; used the sauna one day and there was black ick all over the floor (it had been there for quite a while). No soap or shampoo provided in the lockers / dressing rooms, out of towels a couple of times. Again the staff are super friendly in the main, but someone has to be going by, tidying up, replenishing supplies, etc.... The lowlight of our stay was the one night we decided to dine in at the restaurant on site. Over TWO AND A HALF HOURS between time we were seated and the time we were served. The dining room was not particularly busy. Waitress was apologetic, kitchen manager did cut the food bill in half, but this really smacks of poor management. The other dinner highlight was the server not wanting to take our drink orders; she directed us to go to the bar and get our own drinks, where we got to meet and interact with the surliest bartender ever. Much groaning and grimacing when asked to furnish mixed drinks; he clearly preferred customers who just wanted him to pop a cap. I know ownership has changed and there appears to be some property upgrades in the works, but if you are going through transition times and cannot handle the number of guests you booked, have the good manners to let us know ahead of time. If you have untrained or incompetent staff, train them or replace them. If facilities are old and dated, price accordingly. This place has some of the trappings of a 4 star resort and some of a 1 star hot sheet motel. When they figure out what they want to be when they grow up, this might be a good spot to check out, until then, suggest you avoid.
Most magical location. Amazing food and very friendly staff. I wish next time I can plan a week long family vacation there is just so much to do here.
Great area. Find the forget me not gift shop. Hidden gem by local artists. Best price for a new quilt.
Nice place to stay overnight, but, we had an incident that should be resolved. One night last week, we had stayed in Cottage 17. We had just gotten inside when nature called for a relative. They went to the facilities in our place and found that the toilet was clogged. We called maintenance, and he came in with big MUDDY boots, scaping mud everywhere to the washrooms. Then he fixed the problem, leaving yellow water and mud all over the place. He left saying he would call Housekeepng to come and clean the mess. They Never Came. Wow, Maintenance needs work!
The worst service ever. These people are so rude to me and my family. They false advertise having golf lessons paddle boats kayaks. Do not go here the bed are so uncomfortable awful sleep. Are toilet didn’t work we had to go down to the lodge to use the bathroom. Mostly everyone there was rude like to manager who’s name she wouldn’t tell me don’t get me started on Sharron who was so rude. DO NOT COME HERE!
Great place to stay and the staff are very friendly and happy to help. Rooms are very spacious and nice and clean. The food was excellent and you had a fantastic view from the restaurant
Amazing location, amazing people. Room was incredible. Will return. Only two concerns - lack of channels on the TV for the evening and the price of breakfast/quality was disappointing.
3/5, the hotel is clean and the beds are very comfy but there is no light over the doorway which makes it hard to unlock our door, the décor is very dated and the TV is small, old and difficult to watch because it is low and inside a shelving unit. Breakfast was very expensive. The hotel overnight price was great but only because it was a Groupon. I wouldn't pay full price to stay, for Sure. Staff was friendly though and kind to my kids so that was a big plus.
Power went out and there is no generator and no apologies. Never again
Lovely patio overlooking the 18th hole to enjoy a glass of wine
(Translated) Beautiful view and very quiet place (Original) Hermosa vista y lugar muy tranquilo
5 stars says it all ❤
Dumpy hotel poorly run and run down
New ownership ...they skimp on everything. We have been here before and it was very good. This time the food went from restaurant guality to less than diner quality....they never had any seafood...or steaks as advertised. The golf course greens had heavy sand and unputtable for 3 days that we were here....not worth playing. Totally disappointed....the only plus for this place was the local staff are friendly and work hard....but were under staffed. If I was rating management it would get a zero. Looking for a pleasant golf resort don't go here.
A beautiful gold course!
Poor service
Might be really something for Golfers, but as accommodation it has seen better days. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Great course, cottages and staff
(Translated) Thank goodness only for one night here! Had bad luck with the room! It smelled totally musty! Staff very rude! But Lange is beautiful! (Original) Waren gottseidank nur für eine Nacht hier!Hatten Pech mit dem Zimmer!Es roch total modrig! Personal sehr unfreundlich! Aber Lange wunderschön!
Beautiful views . Incredibly difficult golf course, very adequate accommodations and good food. Nice local beer selection, friendly staff. The value of a 2 rounds with overnight and breakfast was is unmatched. You wont find golf of this quality for this price anywhere. Dundee is a gem . Go there. Golf ,eat drink. Enjoy the world class vistas. You won't be disappointed.
Dirty rooms , no air conditioning, we had water dripping off us, safety hazard with electrical extension cords plugging in fridge across tiny sink. No full size fridge, had to take our garbage to dumpster, kitchen table so filthy that even after we washed it was sticky and gross. Left early due to the horrible experience
Went to play golf. Nice course. Scenic. Good rate. Very slow pace of play. 2hours and 45mins on the front 9. One guy we were playing with left after 9. No starter, no marshall. 4 2somes in front of us. Didnt see the beverage cart until 5th hole. 3 bags of chips, and 1 sandwich on the cart. Disappointed overall.
The stars given are mostly for the staff and the great location of the hotel. I am not a golfer so I cannot review the golf course. I am though traveling a lot all over the world so I will review the hotel. Renovating is a must. At least the room that I was given. A bit of a musty smell in it, very dirty windows and noisy bathroom!! It's pricey for the amenities and the room quality. The size of the room was okay and there was a nice office desk and chair to do some work. The bed was acceptable but that's about it. But as I said, the staff was very polite and accommodating and the sunset at the beach in front of the hotel was perfect. The rest is good for three stars.
Great place... loved the whole experience... fabulous staff and management... will be back soon...
Nice place but needs updates
Great staff, rooms and potato fries!!
Horrible conditions on our day but the course was a little ragged.
Pool was wet.
Accommodations were great, the golf course had some very scenic holes!
Dundee Resort is an excellent hotel after summer season when its a full resort setting. The rooms are fine, pool was available and they still put on "wings night" with a live performance by a local artist. It's a nice place to stay, not luxurious, but the recent renovations and investment are easy to see in the main lodge.
I can't speak to the golf course itself, but the hotel is terrible. It seems as though it hasn't been updated in at least 30 years with its outdated decor and less than ideal upkeep/maintenance. None of this was made any better by the fact that the room I stayed in was late getting cleaned, delaying my check-in, and had an overwhelming smell of industrial disinfectant for the entire stay. Add to that the leaky toilet bowl, mold in the bathroom, sub-par continental breakfast and unjustifiably high price per night and I would strongly recommend against staying here. If you're there for the golf pay your green fees but stay elsewhere.
Gorgeous cottages that are very well kept, so clean and fresh! The view is amazing (especially at sunset), the fire pits are warm and captivating at night, and the night sky is stunning... An experience you can never have in the city!
Good place to golf and enjoy the views. Comfortable and clean rooms.
Good spot to crush some beers with the boys oh and play golf
Nice view from the rooms and very lovely staff ???? but rooms are old and not comfortable at all
Stay and play golf course is awesome ???? Cabin are dated but clean and have everything you need. Price is very good. Food for supper and breakfast were above average.
To long time to Get the food. Bad food Bad service It took 3 ours before the food came
Staff extremely pleasant and freindly. We had a great weekend. One and only complaint would be the lack of air conditioning in the cottages. Install heat pumps and you and your guests would benefit greatly.
Stayed at Dundee Lodge October 10th and 11th,2021. Very nice setting with great views. The Room was clean with good bedding. Furnishings and bathroom fixtures are dated. Window in our room had not been cleaned in a number of seasons; covered in spider webs, droppings and dead insects. Dining room staff were friendly. Golf course has great panoramic views of West Bay. It was fun to play but required TLC to be brought back to it's glory days.

great
Very nice place , great room and had a delicious steak in the restaurant
(Translated) Clean, large rooms, beautiful decor, breathtaking views. (Original) Propre, grandes chambres, beau décor, vue imprenable.
This course has very nice views of the Bras D'or lakes but is insanely steep. It's on the side of a mountain. I like to walk when golfing so it doesn't lend well to that style of play. Fun to play though worth checking out.
Expensive for what you get. Not particularly friendly customer service from attendant. Internet wifi poor to non existent. Food was bland, expensive and not as advertised. Could have advised that noisy functions were underway at arrival time. Overall not impressed!
Excellent course. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful patrons. Top notch experience.
Mixed review. Beautiful location, but poor WiFi and no cell tower signal makes work a bit challenging. Cottages were quite dated but fine for a night or two.
We stayed at the Cabot cottage which has been renovated and is nicer than the others. Great weather and lots to do. Clean large swimming pools, free canoe/kayaking on the Bras d'Or, hiking... The resort is probably a great golf destination. I know nothing of golf but the course looked good. New ownership is renovating the lodge and maki g the resort an attractive option.
I rented the room with a jacuzzi and king bed, the jacuzzi is meant for 1 person. There were no coffee cups in my room, the coffee packages were opened I'm guessing from the previous guests. I know it's their busy season, so that's not that big of a deal. It would be nice if their menu had a few more selections, however the food is good :-) Echo is usually the entertainment playing when we are there, they are really great and add to the experience. Views are beautiful and staff is incredible! I definitely have a good time when I'm there :-)
Nice Hotel but very bad WiFi and slow Service in the Restaurant!
A must do course on Cape Breton to say the least. It's been here for decades and for a reason. Worth the drive!
Rooms were nice, small balcony was a plus. Restaurant food is average to below average. Kayaking hut is closed until 11am and didn't open on time when we wanted to use it so we missed out. They did offer to comp our kayak fees if we wanted to stay, however we had a travel deadline so declined.
Beautiful resort and wonderful service. Stayed in one of your cottages.
Nice clean rooms. Beautiful view of the lake. Restaurant service was horrible! We waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, we had to send back the steak because it was way overdone when we ask for medium rare. do not go to this place if you need internet access for business purposes. Internet was awful! Other than that, the people were very nice, and I feel bad putting any negative information in this review... But I would be dishonest if I left it out.
The cottages outside are tiny , waking up multiple times in night . The restaurant has like 5 meals , suprised very yummy . Wifi was in cottage 34
Love Dundee resort, beautiful golf course with amazing food and always very accommodating
I have mixed feelings about this place. There are lots of things to do onsite. We were here for a family reunion, and the kids really enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools. The kiddie pool outside is massive! Lots of room to run around and play, and the lake activities were fun. However, there are a few main things that bring down my review. For one, the onsite dining options are limited and underwhelming. Hours aren't all that convenient, and the supper hour at the dining room is reservation only. Lunch at the golf club was okay, but overpriced and the food took a very long time. I feel like Dundee should have a casual canteen of hot dogs, hamburgers etc close to the outdoor pool. The rooms in the motel area were okay, but outdated. Our toilet had major issues with clogging. Maintenance came quickly, but the issue wasn't really fixed all that well.
Beautiful scenery, comfortable cabins with all the amenities. The green is meticulously cared for. Best enjoyed with lots of friends. Nothing like a good BBQ at the end of a day of golf. I like the cabins at the top of the hill for the better view of the lake. Sunset is the best.
Excellent course. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful patrons. Top notch experience.
Dundee is a hidden gem. Beautiful views and challenging golf, every golfer will love this course. The new club house is wonderful and the Resort Dining is excellent. Minus two stars for the slow greens and the uneven tee boxes and the outhouses on the course. Look for the washrooms behind the halfway house. Cheap days on Tuesday and Thursday. Welcome to God's Country!
Great golf, cabins a little dated
Nice place to play golf and have marriage parties.
Lots of interesting holes on this course. Great the day special for a good price. Well with the trip.
Beautiful location, the cabin's need alot of work!! Would love to go back and see it at its full potential.
Always a great round. Difficult, challenging course with many elevation changes. Greens are always tough and on point. Friendly staff. Beautiful views. Close to home.
Forgot how nice the views were here. Food was not the best however.
Messed up room reservations even though we were first to book for their Ladies Invitational. Chaos at check in and we did not get rooms side by side...not even in same hall. Practice round okay with marshal telling our blue flag player to do what was necessary to protect the course. She assured him she had been President of a golf club and knew how to protect the course. Late in round young pup named Bryce came up and ranted about the blue flag player being too close to the green ..she was 15 feet from the fringe on high dry ground. Next day a marshal George McPhail refused to discuss blue flag play and harassed our group to speed up play even though we frequently saw the group in front of us and seldom saw the group behind. He kept popping up to check on us for about 6 holes until he found another group to harass. The buffet afterwards kept running out of food and at one point there was a 20 minute delay, with the staff complaining that they had already refilled it three times. I've been playing this tournament since it's inception except for last year when my husband was ill. Will never go there again nor recommend it to anyone. It's a course very unfriendly to golfers with any physical impairment, factor notwithstanding. Mr. Grewel's should know his resort is staffed by some very nasty rude people.
Best place for Good lovers Surrounded with greenery and best ambience to take a nice small place Ample space for family and couples to have a good time Do check it out.
Great.
Friendly staff, so so rooms and food
Beautiful ocean views located on a golf course. Restaurant on site just ok, otherwise I'd give it a five
Always a great time.
Kind of out of the way, but nice and scentic, staff was very good. Some upgrades done but needing more.
The course is in good shape, the restaurant has full service indoors and patio. Enjoy my visit will go back for few more rounds this year.
Great view and golf for a reasonable price.
Great for family's and golf. Cabins were clean but could use air conditioning, the hotel rooms on the main lodge were beautiful. Indoor pool zone could use updating. Overall three families together had a great time.
Cottages are very run down. No AC, very stuffy. Good activities for families though with indoor and outdoor pool, outdoor movie night.
Wonderful people who go the extra mile. Highly recommended.
The best golf club in Canada
Great Place! Staff very friendly. Great view!
Spent a quiet night at Dundee Resort & Golf Club, Nova Scotia. Room is comfortable, furnished with fridge, coffee/tea maker. Plenty of Fresh Air ! Great Sunset view! Friendly Services.
One of the best kept secrets in Cape Breton...love the place stayed a week last week coming back this year!
Clean room, friendly staff. The bathroom door didn't close fully though
Very good place to come
Beautiful spot. Breathtaking
The course was beautiful but some of the staff were very rude about us having to cancel some of the tee-times due to a death in the family.
Great challenging course for novice to intermediate golfers. Amazing views going up and down the hill, kart recommended. Course needs a bit of maintenance work. Food and service at the clubhouse and inn was fantastic over our whole weekend stay. The cottage did the trick but are a bit rundown. I would certainly go here again for the experience.
A group of us have been going to Dundee for 7 years and this year was by far the best overall experience we've had. The course was in amazing shape and Sarah and her team were very organized and efficient with high-quality food and great service. I would recommend anyone going for a golf weekend as the value is also exceptional
Awesome place, great time with family and friends.
Go too wing night. Sauce selection is limited to 5-6 types max but what ones they have are excellent!
We stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages and we were not impressed. No wifi, no tv, no AC, which in July was not fun. Not worth the money they are asking for a night. What a shame because it's a beautiful setting.
I would recommend this motel for both business or pleasure trips
While the cabins are dated they are very clean. The Golf Course was in the pretty good shape despite all the bad weather. The staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great. It is a wonderful property.
The restaurant was very spacious, and atmosphere was great. Great service and the food was delicious and very well portioned.
I didn't stay at Dundee Resort, but my family and I were across the road, where we can rent kayaks, canoes or the peddle boats and life jackets. Very friendly and reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back.
Our family had a great time at Dundee. The golf course was beautiful. The boathouse had an abundance of kids activities including kayaking, standup paddle board, and private golf lessons for kids. Staff were friendly and well-trained. A perfect retreat for families with young kids.
Best views
Lovely mothers day brunch! The food was delicious and there was a large variety in this buffet style dining. The staff were extremely accommodating. The atmosphere was casual and the atmosphere was festive.
Amazing experience at this amazingly planned golf course. Perfect place for a good round of golf and to unwind with your friends & family. A must visit for sure.
Tranquil and serene. Beautiful scenery. Great service.
It was bad food and bad service and we waited way to long for the food and it was not good. Bad service, food and cleaning.
Furniture and fixtures are dated and the TVs are to small to enjoy sports games. The bar is just a section of the dining room and gets quite loud so don't expect a quite romantic meal unless you can sit on the patio. Some of the rooms in the main hotel are quite musty. That being said, the scenery is quite beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. Price for room quality was not great so try to take advantage of any inclusive offers. The food in the restaurant was quite delicious and the catering service was outstanding. This location is best suited for group activities and tournaments.
Spent the weekend here for a wedding and it was great. Food was great and the staff went above and beyond to make entire weekend memorable. Free water sport rentals was a big plus.
We stayed at Dundee Cottages for the weekend with a group of friends. The cottages were close together which made it easy to socialize with other adults without losing sight of the kids. This would be a perfect getaway if the cottages were updated. The mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable felt like they were quite old. Similarly the furnishing were outdated. The kitchen amenities were also lacking in the one-bedroom cottage. The coffee maker was small and best suited for a single person, we had no cook top to prepare breakfasts (limited to a microwave), the dishwear was mismatched and limited (drinking glasses were small, not sufficient size for beer or mixed drinks). There was also a large amount of water under our cottage (and others). The location has a lot of potential with spectacular views of the lake, activities and ability to be close to other groups.
Very nice place, right by Bras D'Or Lake. The amenities are probably the best you'll find in the West Bay area, and the staff has been considerate. We did have an issue with our room, we had reserved a suite, however when we arrived they said they had no record of it and said none were available. The room they gave us instead was able to accommodate our group though. The paid breakfast in the included dining room was quite good, much better than in past memory. This is not a formal or high end spot on the grand scale, but if that's not what you want you'll likely have a good time at Dundee.
Great place to stay, play and eat!
Place is bomb absolutely awesome 10 out of 10
Rooms were fantastic, staff is friendly and excellent, golf course and scenic views were AMAZING food is good and will be coming back soon!!!
Don't forget about this GEM. Really challenging course. Excellent views of the Bas'dor. A real stay cation location on CB. Always had great times here.
Good value, nice restaurant and a good golf course.
We booked the All Inclusive golf package. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage, which was sparse, at best. A loveseat hide-a-bed and a side table with two uncomfortable hard chairs, substituting for a kitchen table and a 3/4 size bed. While wifi is available in the main hotel, it is not available at the cottages. Due to Covid, there were no amenities, no coffee maker and no housekeeping for the duration of the stay. We were only there for two nights, so not a great hardship. The staff tried hard to make guests feel welcome. My main issue was the food. It was just short of awful for the most part. Included in our package were two breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners. Our lunch at the Clubhouse was decent, but the meals served in the resort dining room were sub par at best. Options for golfers were either "deep fried" or overcooked. The Clubhouse offered things like lasagna and broccoli Alfredo but those weren't offered at the resort dining room and we were not offered inclusive dinner at the Clubhouse. The chowder was much like wading through glue and tasted like uncooked flour. I had salmon and it was so overcooked, it developed a sawdust texture. The sides that came with it were two large slotted spoon scoops of canned mixed vegetables and two scoops of instant potatoes. None of it was very hot or had much taste. Breakfast was hit and miss. Eggs benny was ok, except the ham was "fake" toupee ham. The omelette was horrible. Basically it was scrambled egg, cooked on a flat top, layered with fake ham and about a pound of cheese, glided over and slapped on a plate. The cheese was so thick it wouldn't melt. They print out a receipt for you to sign. $63 for a steak and a salmon dinner with instant and canned sides. Drinks, appetizers and desserts not included. Laughable. What this resort lacks in accommodation and food, is made up on the golf course. It is challenging, scenic and made up for the rest. Would we go back? We might, but we would not be in a hurry, given there are hundreds of courses with restaurants serving edible food.
Great service, fun and maintained course. Nice rooms, and good food. Got liquid drunk for 24 hours straight good times
Expensive
Spent a mini family vacation here in August and we were very disappointed. The resort is currently undergoing Renovations but unfortunately we were not told this when booking and got stuck in an area where all day workers were surrounding us so not quite the relaxing getaway we had hoped for. When we asked to be moved it wasn't possible, the 2 front desk staff we dealt with were less than friendly or helpful. We also asked to have a manager contact us about our stay but have yet to hear from anyone. Positive note my son and husband got in a few rounds of golf so there's that. Overall would not currently recommend this place.
Went over for wing night. The wings were awesome! Had the whiskey glazed, and sweet and smoky and the saracha ones. All were awesome but the whiskey glazed ones were my favourite. Had sweet potato fries and mozza sticks too. They were great as well. It was very busy so I'd recommend arriving at the start of wing night (6 pm) or being prepared to wait, it's a very popular event.
Great place for events
Great golfing, excellent food and a wonderful view.
The course is a hidden gem that is in wonderful shape. The views are magnificent and unmatched by any golf course that I have played. Every hole is unique and has a plaque detailing the best approach and strategies to play the hole successfully. This course is a must play for any avid golfer.
The food here is just amazing I highly recommend it you won't be disappointed. :-)
My wife and I went for wings on Wednesday twice this season the first time we went the music was so loud we could hear the waitress. The 2nd and our last time we didn't get a pound of wings and the prices are gone up. I like beer in a bottle and the last time it came prepoured in a glass that's not except able. As far as I know it was from the tap. It's sad we truly use to enjoy wing night.
Course was in great shape friendly staff
Great service, food and atmosphere.
The Chef in 2017 was amazing when we were there, cookbook author and all around nice guy, and made the best food we had in the Maritime provinces of Canada. Would give 5 stars, but very dated rooms, and chef is no longer there. The guy from Slovakia was hilarious and a great guy as well!
I am so sorry to have to make a negative review on Dundee Resort, a part of our lives since it started. We praised up the dinng room to friends from the US we arrived for a 6 reservation.and food was finally served at 8. The waitress apologized but it was just not her fault. Please get help in the kitchen
Nice course friendly people.
Very slow getting our meal. Service staff were good. Waited over 1 hour and 20 min for our meal. When it came we asked 3 times no garnish on steak due to allergy and there was garnish. Sent it back waited another 20 min. Taste was ok.
Stayed at a one bedroom cottage, it hasn't been updated in about 10 years but was still very cozy. The restaurant was average. I'd recommend more of the bar food, the pasta was hardly seasoned and salmon was bland. The staff made it wonderful, they were so helpful and welcoming!
Stayed in 216. Room super clean. Bed not quite as comfy as I expected. Lots of hot water in shower. Did not stay for breakfast ( included).
Great place
Our group of friends stayed and golfed in June 2021 The course was in amazing shape and there are spectacular views .The food was incredible Lunch club house sandwich yum steak at supper was perfect. Great job chef The staff at Dundee make your stay special they are over the top helpful friendly and make you smile .Sara the food /beverage lead couldn’t do enough for us very professional thank you Candace was full of energy and perfect to deal with so friendly thx. Rebecca and Nick were great servers always laughing making it a stress free atmosphere that was great,Dundee is a great spot for golf and friends but the staff make it so much better Great job guys Thank you Mike Ian Darren Phil
Would have been nice to rent a car just for a tour and pics of the golf course, but we weren't allowed and disappointed because some were allowed and we weren't because we heard some went on a tour...special people, I guess
Well maintained golf course. Newly renovated cabin.
Great venue awesome staff
Course was in great condition for the start of the season. Food in the clubhouse was fantastic.
Great golf course. Good food. Spectacular views. Great staff, friendly and accommodating.
One of the more disappointing stays I have ever had. We selected two side by side cabins for our family. The cabins were small, poorly laid out, with very unsatisfactory mattress necessitating my wife sleeping on the couch. There is no cell service at this location and the Wi-Fi in the cabins is unusable. The only connectivity is in the lodge. The plumbing in both cabins broke down on the first day of our stay requiring that we use the bathroom in an adjacent cabin during the pouring rain overnight. The food at the adjacent golf clubhouse was fairly good but expensive. The prices we paid for this accommodation were at the high end and yet the stay was at the very low end. I asked to speak with management on the day of checkout and was advised that management would not be in until later in the day. I left my phone number and never received a call. This accommodation was overpriced and very disappointing. I would never stay there again.
Spent the night at Dundee Resort on Saturday, Aug. 1 to attend a wedding. I can't speak to golfing conditions. The wedding was fabulous despite Covid and the meal was delicious. So many windows in this resort that over look some pretty impressive views. Beautiful area. The accommodations were not even close to being worth the $186 plus taxes that we paid for two queen beds in the hotel. Upon arrival, staff did not offer any info. We had to ask where our room was located, breakfast times (pricey!!! our waitress was wonderful), directions to wedding room, wifi, vending machine (drinks only), ice machine. We arrived on about day 7 or more of a heat wave in NS. The ac had not been turned on for us. The temperature in the room according to the thermostat was 29 c. When we turned it on it sputtered to life but did very little to reduce the temperature. When we got up Sunday morning it was finally down to 21. This is a very dated building. Everything is old. Don't get me started on the pillows. The phone didn't work and had visible dust on it. Really?? During a pandemic?? The sink was plugged. There was no sign on the entrance door of the hotel asking guests to wear masks although a mandatory mask order was in place. When an establishment has "resort" in the name I expect much better!
Beautiful location, personable friendly service.
1) People aren't trained. I think it's manager's fault. 2) air conditioner in rooms are way too noisy. We couldn't sleep at all... 3) they need a new chef. Foods are terrible. Just terrible. 4) golf course is ok, but too many horse flies.
Staff best, very helpful friendly great place for anyone with mobility problems golf cart services .Food is second to none, bars are great excellent rooms, very clean.Cabins for extra privacy.I can't say enough good things to say about Dundee, going back asa0
Friendly staff, delicious meals and great golf. Will come back again.
I've stayed in $65 a night motels that are better than this place. Check in time is 3PM, we arrived at 345 and our room wasn't ready, and they couldn't find the keys. The bbq caught on fire, it was so dirty from previous guests. Unless you get down on the floor on your belly, you can't adjust the heat in the rooms. The living room was so hot you couldn't stand it, while the bedrooms were like an ice room. The decks are rotten, we couldn't even allow our dog to roam around on it for fear she would fall through. The TV has one channel, and the HDMI plugs do not work. When we asked for it to be switched with one that worked they said "We can't do that". For a "World Class" resort I say spend your money elsewhere!
Property is pretty and has good view from dinning room. Food wasn't that great but staff was friendly. Didn't get a chance to play golf but heard course was great.
Run down, poor quality food, dishonest staff I could go on i just wouldnt stay here again or recommend
Awesome location awesome golf course and awesome value . It has been updated recently and beats any other resort in the area when it comes to the complete package. All inclusive package is a steal . Will be returning next summer.
Over priced food when you can get it.
Great location..country setting..accommodation and golf was great
I am coming back for sure, Thank you team Dundee. It's been a great experience with all the warmth and professional care.
The food was fantastic , the staff was great, they need to get new mattress for the cottages but other than that they were ok. The golf course was in good shape other than the greens. They really need to cut them tighter and roll them, slowest greens I have ever putted on . The view as usual was spectacular . We had a fun few days with friends during covid times, something we all need.
It was a fun weekend with friends, however, having my own rentals I understand how adding a few extras to a rental cabin can make a HUGE difference in your guests experience. And these cabins are in need of a few dozen things that would make huge improvements. I think the resort have enormous potential but at the moment it doesn’t feel like anyone has a clue what they are doing unfortunately.
Booked for my 15th anniversary party at Dundee Resort. It was the first time for my guests and I to be staying there. We were at party of 35 folks. The experience was a nightmare! My dinner was a flop. Food wasnt ready on time, food was missing, Food was cold...etc... The bus girl and bartender were left to deal with it all while their manager was out handling a wedding which was also taking place... and it sure took priority... the cottages were dirty, one of my guests had blood on their sheets, the other had dog hair on their comforter and couch. Plus the cottages were definitley not up to code.. fire hazards everywhere... Just terrible... At 2 am we were woken up a by a big brawl next door to us, someone punching another guys head off the patio deck... Police were called... I couldnt sleep the rest of the night...terrified of what was happening...I was offered a free nights stay and a rental fee refunded..about 10 percent of my total bill... We will never ever go back there... Beyond horrifying for an special occasion!
So nice. Loved the hospitality, views and food.
Worth the drive. Great views good Greens and some cool holes.
The resort and golf course are gorgeous. That's where the good words I have end. There "resort" is extremely poorly managed. We stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages. There is no cell service or wifi. Our toilet stopped working on the first day and we weren't moved and when asked if it would be fixed, the response we got was "oh it's just because of poor water pressure" as if we we're to take that information as a solution. The resorts "restaurant" heated up packaged frozen chicken and called it a $20 meal with awful service. We wen't once and decided to make our own meals after. The food was so bad that it wasn't worth it to go for the free breakfast included with our stay. None of the staff was helpful or interested in making your stay better. The golf course is nice and well kept. Unfortunately it is also very poorly managed. We had other people teeing off at our tee time both rounds we played. We spent the entire round waiting at each tee and eventually it got to the point that we were waiting with the people behind us and the people behind them. The course marshal drove by and reassuringly stated "that's the way she goes some times" and did nothing to fix the problem. I would go and play another round at the golf course but will not be staying at the resort ever again.
I loved everything about it. I love the senery . I love the people and the staff I love the golf . I love to go back again as soon as possible.. .....cape breton has everything you need for the best time of your life. Please go see for yourself. You won't regret it. Ps . Take a friend .
Nice older cottages. Great indoor and outdoor pools , beach with canoes and kayaks, and nice views from the golf course. Cottages have bbqs, kitchens and patios so we didn't use the restaurant. Self serve stocked fire pits were great after dark.
We stayed in the dated cabins. Hot as hell during the day due to no air conditioning, but did cool down at night if you had all the windows open and the 1 fan on non-stop. The food was poor at all available restaurants. We were here for an event and the plate provided for the money charged was underwhelming. The burger we ordered from the clubhouse was not cooked and we had to return to get a refund. The wait staff was amazing however. They did need more employees working though. The facilities around the resort were good and offered enough for our family to keep busy the time we were here.
Loved the course
Course has seen better days... But on the bright side you get a cart included in your green fees which you'll need it if you are playing 18 holes. Very fun course but is also challenging. I play there quiet often.
Nice scenic view of the Bras D'or Lakes. Location has an 18 hole golf course, indoor pool and restaurant. It offers air conditioned, spacious rooms with internet and cable. Staff if friendly.
Lovely staff. Beautiful view. Being completely updated. Comfortable, quiet, and clean cottages.
Great views, challenging course.
Very friendly location with amazing views cottages are a bit weathered but are still quite cozy.
When: Labour Day Weekend 2021 Accommodation: Shared Cottages General overview is that the place seems kind of run down for a resort. After the first day my conclusion was that this is years and years of neglect. There was obvious effort in exterior painting and new roofs, but to be blunt it is like lipstick on a pig type situation. Pros - great view, food ok, staff was fantastic, golf literally next door, water activities across street on the beach (too cold during our stay), fire pits available, cottages cleanish. Outdoor pools looked ok, indoor pool area ok, sauna and hot tub out of order. On-site laundry and bathroom near the outdoor pool area / cottages seemed to be newer. Cons - Cottages are old, musty, and way out of date. In need of major Reno’s. I guess it depends on what you expect for $244 a night. We were expecting more. - No daily house keeping to the cottages. Must request. Once requests were made they were good about it. May be a function of short staff due to the Covid effect. - Tennis Courts are not useable. Funny to see that one net was in place because the court would not be playable. I should have taken pictures to provide perspective. - Golf Course was $110 per round with cart. After playing 2 rounds I would say they shouldn’t charge any more than $80 per round with cart. Not a fantastic course, but not bad. A lot of the golf carts have seen better days. - Children’s play ground needs replacement items and new equipment. Not great at all. - Dining room has old stained carpet. Each time we dined in, the carpet had plenty of food/crumbs from previous diners, which was not a welcome element. Two sittings we had either dirty glasses or utensils. To be a little picky, overhead lighting was of different temperatures i.e. yellow versus white. Just gives a feel that the place has no money to do the simplest of things. - Couple of staff members (one management, one waitress) really didn’t respect the mask requirement. That was unexpected. - while two fire pits are available, it would be nice to have more instead of having to share in bigger groups. - Our cottage (#7) had a surge protector bar laying across the counter RIGHT next to the sink. Seemed dangerous. Didn’t unplug it because fridge was plugged into it. Made sure to be careful. Our companions who had two other cottages had to use plug-ins over by the couch or tv to use toasters and coffee machine due to lack of plugs in their kitchens. - random hairs in the bed sheets of all 3 beds. We assumed this came from the laundry process, but it doesn’t give a great feeling. Same with hairs on the wall of bathroom which probably stuck on during house cleaning. We were three families that visited the resort as a weekend getaway. Neither family will be visiting this resort again.
Nancy Lowe - I made reservation, had confirmation number ( on my e-mail) when I arrived for two queen size beds. My sister and I and our Husbands came to visit from Dartmouth Nova Scotia for a family reunion. When I arrived, I was told there was no reservation. I got my confirmation e-mail out.The Lady at the front desk. I'm sorry I only have one king size bed left. ( I was told take it or leave it) My confirmation price was $ 219.00 with 2 queen size beds. I was told one king size for 4 people at the price of $219.00 plus taxes( take it or leave it). I left and drove 4 hours back home. SO DISAPPOINTING (NOT RELIABLE)
Went last month with family, and couldn’t have had a better time. Everything I needed for a great weekend was already at the resort! Amazing golf course with a stunning view, great food, and a nice and clean ambiance inside and out of the hotel! Definitely will come again
It's a shame they have left the tennis courts become unplayable . Golf course in better shape than years past
Beautiful scenery
Nice spot. Doing some needed upgrades. Not the best on accessibility.
Great place to stay and golf, had a great time when we were there, and staff were very friendly.
I was attending a wedding ceremony and, despite the heavy amounts of rain, Dundee made it an extremely hospitable fun night.
Cabins were clean but very dated...for the amount of money ya pay.
Beautiful course maintenance staff went out of his way to accomodate guests????
We had a fantastic trip. The cabins could use a bit of updating, but otherwise everything was really nice. The staff were very accommodating for our family reunion (nearly 40 people), plus they have a reunion discount which is great.
The course was in great shape and President MacPhee and his wife Noreen were incredible playing partners!
(Translated) Nice golf course with a fairly difficult slope. Beautiful view of the lake on occasion. (Original) Beau terrain de golf avec une slope assez difficile. Magnifique vue du lac à l'occasion.
Beautiful views and good golf course
Service and hospitality was great but the wifi in some rooms and cottages was very weak
