Beautifully kept course with friendly staff, solid fairways, and very nice greens. The cart lady was super nice and even stuck some limes in our coronas which was very cool. I only had two problems with the course. The first was the lack of a back 9 cross over for food and drinks. The other problem (which is a serious issue) is the golf carts. The carts are beyond annoying. They beep at everything and shut down if you are 2 feet from the fairway. I had my cart shut down on my direct route to the cart path. I really can’t understate how much I hate those golf carts… they were clean though! Overall, a very nice course that is suffering from technology. If you hit all your shots straight down the middle 100% of the time, this is a hidden gem! Okay so I’m exaggerating a bit… the course is very well kept and plays super well. I will play here again for sure and hope they tweak the carts a little bit!

We went to Nation Golf Course , Curran , ON on Saturday . What a disaster . They jammed people in the morning in order to have golf course ready for shot gut tournament at 1pm . On the third hole , we had two foursome in front , by the 5th hole there was a back up of 5 foursomes in the back on the . It took us 1hour 10 minutes to wait and do 4 holes . Decided to pull off and ask for refund , we met very arrogant marshal , then the same attitude was dump on us by the pro-shop at the end manager , told us " don't tell us how to run our business " refusing refund , Not a single apology We have heard about unpleasant staff attitude at the Nation before . This time we have experienced . " FOR THAT REASON - I AM OUT " from there for good Erik

I only did a 9 hole round and the conditions were exceptional. This golf course is ideal regardless of the weather. It dries very quickly because of the sand it sits on. It is green even during dry conditions because of the river that runs throughout the course. I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. My only advice: go for an 18 round!

Showed up to play for my tee time. Got turned away because they were doing course maintenance. Didn't bother to call even though I left my number with them. Then when I asked how long it would be, the guy couldn't give an estimate and wanted me to call in an hour to see if it was open again. They weren't going to call me. Absolutely poor customer service! I booked the day off from work to play. Luckily Hammond was able to squeeze me in. I will not bother booking to play here again.

Beautiful course, at a great price. You'll lose a lot of balls if you have a habit of missing fairways, due to the thick brush, but it's a pretty enjoyable difficulty level otherwise. Just wish they'd stop setting up the tee blocks right at the extreme back.

One of my favorite courses to play at. The new GPS golf carts are a bit annoying with all the "slow" areas programed in. The last cart I had also went into restricted area mode about 8 times well I was on the CART PATH! Cart 54 and 53. Please recalibrate.

This course is not worth the drive. As plenty of others have posted, the management here is extremely rude. On the third hole, the marshal accused us of jumping in after a few holes to play for free. I get the feeling that the administration is extremely stingy - staff at the pro shop gave me the same impression. Course conditions that I've seen in other comments seem overrated, I found the fairways soggy and the greens were soaked on a beautiful dry sunny day. Overall, an unpleasant experience. I was considering this course to host a tournament for my organisation, however, after this experience, I will look elsewhere.

Great course. Solid shape. Good challenge. I have been playing golf for 25 years and their new gps carts really took away from my round. They shut down on you in places they never should. I felt like I was more focused on the cart “restricted areas” than my golf!! I was warned by a buddy before even playing and he was bang on. Change the governing on the carts, it’s embarrassing.

This course is in immaculate shape. The greens keeper should get a raise. 36$ bucks after 3 with a cart worth every penny. The course has tight fairways, so better suited for experienced golfers. 10th hole is incredibly challenging. Never had any issues with staff or marshalls. I would defiantly recommend it

Only bathrooms on 9th and 15th hole. Otherwise decent course but expensive for what it is. Noisy because of proximity to a small airfield and other players that think the golf course is a bingo hall. Course in good condition but too packed together with not enough buffer between fairways. We were constantly being pelted with other groups balls. Borderline dangerous.

One of my favourite courses. It's in great shape this year. Pace of play is a bit too slow at times as their time of 8 minutes between tee times is not enough. Also despite a sign saying pace of play is enforced, it is not true. A double-par limit should be observed by all players of every calibure to make it fair and enjoyable for all. Will go back anyway because the layout is superb.

Perfect to concentrate on his game, no distraction from the field which is in perfect condition, the ball on the field is always in good position. Each hole is isolated from the others, surrounded by mature forests, never disturbed by other groups of golfers. The Greens are also very good, showing no signs of abuse or neglect. Some greens are slanted quite hard. A very peaceful little gem. Parfait pour se concentrer sur son jeu, aucune distraction de la part du terrain qui est en parfait état, la balle sur le terrain est toujours en bonne position. Chaque trou est isolé des autres, entouré de forêts matures, jamais dérangé par les autres groupes de golfeurs. Les verts aussi sont très bien, montrent aucun signe d'abus ou négligence. Quelques verts sont incliné assez fort. Un petit bijoux très paisible.

Beautiful course, great condition, looking forward to playing there again BUT it was a busy day and when we arrived at the 10th, we found another foursome had been allowed to start their round in front of us. Not ok and beneath the standard this excellent course deserves. After 4.5 hours to get to the 15th, we had to leave and drove past foursomes backed-up all the way to the clubhouse. I'll give the course another chance for sure, hopefully this was an anomaly.

UPDATED IN 2020: Still Awesome but way to slow pace compared to previous years. Changed review from 5 star to 4 because of it. Going back early 2021 and hopping for better pace this season. My go to golf course. Beautiful fairways and great greens for most of the summer. Best golf course for the price you pay. It's not quite The Marches but you will pay a quarter of the price if you buy the "hot" deals tee off. Do yourself a favour and give it a round. I guarantee you will go again.

Course has great Covid procedures, it is in great shape. There is no cross over at 9 so bring lots of water and snacks with you, especially in high heat. The only issue is there is no warning signage regarding their GPS controlled electric carts that shut down if you are a hair out of place. Mine actually stopped forward movement, on the left side of the fairway on 17. That ruined my round having to push the cart at 62 years of age.

WOW! The nicest course I’ve played in Ottawa. You can take that for what it’s worth since I haven’t golfed many private courses, but this was still unreal. Neat layout and absolutely amazing conditions. I feel like the owners and grounds staff take pride in their course. We didn’t have too many issues with our carts. It legitimately stopped twice but we were clearly approaching a no go zone and I was trying to hug the line. They are newer, comfy and in great shape. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional. We will certainly be back, especially since it’s so reasonably priced. Fantastic job The Nation GC team. You already have me thinking of a membership next year for my wife and I! Keep it up.

Today was terrible! Had to wait for over an hour on an 18 hole round. They more than likely overbooked the course today because on hole had 3 foursomes waiting. Seriously! In a pandemic with social distancing rules in place and we all got bunched up more than once. Will be looking elsewhere to play for next time.

This course is well maintained, good greens. The staff are very friendly. There is a good amount of adulation - hitting up to some greens, and down to some fairways. It's not a long course but it is tight. And the greens after quite small. So not the easiest golf course. Recommended as long as you hit the ball relatively straight.

Not one to complain but it took us 3 hours to finish 9 holes. We cut our 18 short as we were waiting between 10-15 minutes per hole. Horrible backlog of golfers, way overbooked. Left my info twice asking for a refund or a rain check as the course itself is beautiful only to receive no call back. Beautiful course, however not enjoyable due to the heavy backlog and poor customer service. Won’t be back.

nice course. well maintained, just challenging enough. the course warden was a bit much. personally I don't like being told to speed up my game because someone might have to wait a few minutes to tee up. To me golf is a relaxing sport that shouldn't be rushed, if someone comes up on my group and there is noone ahead of me, i will judge for myself if its appropriate to let them play through I don't need someone staring at me and my party telling us whether or not he feels we're playing at an appropriate pace.

Course is in good shape but very short course Customer service is awful. Manager is rude. Pro shop is one of the priciest in the city by far. The one thing going for it was the play all day, and they now seem to have taken that away. What a shame because that's what was bringing me to the course in the first place. Lots of other really nice courses in the city for people to choose from with better customer service.

Marshall told us to hurry when we were waiting on another group and he saw us waiting. Then he kept following us untill we had to call head office. We're there to have fun not be watched like hawk and be rushed through the course because marshall wants to be home before the closing time.

The Nation golf course is about 60km/40mi from downtown Ottawa and this seems to be just far enough that less people make the (rather scenic) drive than otherwise should (IMHO) to play at what I would rate as fine as any course in the Outaouais/Ottawa/Gatineau region. There are other courses that cost more and where perhaps there are more service people but for the quality and charm of the course itself and the smaller group of hardworking people who run it this course is truly a gem. I recently played this course with a friend who had not been out there before and he raved about the beauty of the course and the immediate sense of belonging one gets when visiting. The only downside is they do not have the land for a practice range and for the very big hitters the course is not super long. Never mind - a mulligan on the first tee is considered acceptable here. It's my favorite course in the region.

Really nice course, well maintained! Not one bad green or fairway. Everything was green. Some tee boxes need some work. Overall great course. Very challenging narrow fairways. Lots of variety of holes. All the staff were nice the girl working the patio was very friendly and the patio looks out to the 18th hole and 9th hole. The pace of play was extremely slow. There was 2 groupd on almost every tee box waiting. Marshall was doing his best to keep pace up and informed us on what was going on. However 5 1/2 hours to play 18 is in my opinion way to slow. Overall good value and nice course, would recommend Nd will go back.

Du solide! Par contre le Marshal est venue gâché notre round en nous mettant de la pression carrément inutile en nous disant d’accélérer à deux reprise alors que personne attendait en arrière. Course is lush. Fairways/tee-boxes/greens are in excellent condition. Even with the heat wave /drought, the course is really green and you cannot find any brown spot on the entire course. The course is packed with players though. Played behind 4 dudes today (1 riding) , all big and young but they played like it's PGA tournament on the line. On 18th they even take out measurement tape or something to measure whose ball was closest to the hole ..ridiculous. Our 4-some all walking, has 2 seniors (65 and 70) and they can barely hit over 180yr tee ball Yet we had to wait and wait at every hole. There was no one in front of them. Unfortunately the marshal was not around until the end of our round. When you are stuck behind a slow group, it sorta ruined the experience

If i could give 0 star i would. Play golf quite ofthen with friends and never delt with a Marshall with such a negative attitude. If you want to play some relaxing golf don't go there. You couldn't paye me to play there. You've lost my and my friends business forever.

I never recommend to go to this golf club because it doesn't manage people. I played this course but can't finish 18hole. I took 3 hours and 20 minutes for only 9 holes. So we claimed remained 9 holes but Nation golf club said it didn't want to do because we finished 9 holes and used promotion. So I claimed to get back the half of payment but it rejected. And the guy's response in proshop was horrible. I never recommend this golf club. So still nation golf thinks over3 hours for 9 holes is proper.......

Great golf course for intermediate to advanced golfers. Challenging yet fun to play. Not too busy on evenings, we only waited for a total of 5 minutes through 18 holes. Sadly, we had a terrible experience with the course Marshal. One of our friends couldn't play due to a bad knee but wanted to join us for an afternoon of golf. He payed his own half of the kart even though he wasn't playing. We were on the 4th hole and after chipping on the green, I gave him my pitching wedge while I was putting. In comes one of the most condescending marshall I have yet to meet. He waits on his kart for us to finish putting and when we made our way back to our karts, he asks our friend (who can't play) if he was going to pay his round of golf. We then proceeded to explain to him that we had told the lady at the front desk that he wasn't playing and she said no problem. With displeasure, he left. On the 6th hole, a lady came by to watch us again. Our friend didn't have clubs nor was he holding any. She left after our drives. We thought we were done with having a crowd watching us play but no; on the 11th hole, back was the Marshall. He followed us all the way to the 18th hole. Very very annoying experience. Was always watching us shoot from tee box to the green. We had agreed to have one person watch, not the Marshall however. Disappointing experience. We felt very uncomfortable all round long.

The course is in very good shape. Greens run true. However 18 holes took 4.45 hrs. to play and we never saw a Marshall to help speed up play.

Wonderful golf course with a lot of charm. If I lived closer to the Ottawa region, I'd play it on a regular basis.

Got nothing for 50+ dollars online booking. Ownership refused to allow me to schedule for another tee time after a 2+ hour frost delay that I couldn't wait out - sorry I have something else to be later in the day. I received nothing for my online payment; all I wanted was to be booked at another time - something which would have cost the course absolutely nothing. I've never experienced anything close to this level of terrible customer relations at any golf course in the Ottawa valley. I would take your business elsewhere, I certainly will. I would give zero stars if possible.
