This is a high five for a course that took a lot of undeserved heat last year for some patchy greens from a (now former) member, and that after a winter that dumped 3 feet of snow in April. It just goes to show the overall quality of green maintenance on the Island. I never noticed but minor imperfections myself.

We had a great time! The course was beautifully maintained and really fun to play! The people there are amazingly friendly and it's only 20 minutes outside of Charlottetown.

A fun, challenging Links-style course 15 minutes from our hotel in Montague, PE. It's a relatively short course, but is nicely balanced with some fairways being forgiving and others featuring sand at driving distances... it requires some thought, which is fun. The greens were in really good shape and they're quite fast - my brother in law and I were fighting to get the feel of the pace of these greens all round ;) What we found most impressive was the price for a round in peak season at peak time (9:30 tee off). Much more competitive than the Dundarave/Brudenell courses nearby, though in fairness they are a step up in terms of on site and course amenities. At the time of writing, we paid 72.50 (each) taxes-in for 18 holes and a cart. Make no mistake, Avondale is a great golf course and visitors to the area should give it a swing.

Played here recently and it was a nice round of golf at a fair price I just wish they had a replay rate so I could play there twice a day without feeling like I was overpaying. Most places I go to usually over a replay rate at the price of a power cart seat. The course itself was in really good shape but a little damp in spots (it had rained a couple of days before (Ida was her name I believe) so that was understandable. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition; tee boxes were ample and provided plenty of room. I rarely complain that there is too much sand in a bunker but heir was at least one that felt more like a 'sandbox' than a bunker (18 fairway bunker sand was way too deep IMO). The course is a good challenge for all levels of golfers but could use another tee box setup between the White and Blue setup (maybe a combo Blue/White at approximately 6000yds would be a nice addition). The scorecard seemed very crowded and I rarely need my reading glasses to make out scorecard info this was not the case. A redesign might be in order; my playing partner also mentioned this without my prompting. If you aren't sure you want to play here take my advice and play here at least once and enjoy the track. Price wise it is very affordable compared to the 'big guys' on the Island given the playing conditions. And 17 is really a fun hole to play!!

I payed a round here yesterday with my partner, course was overall nice and in decent shape. However the staff were not very helpful, and I am very disappointed that during a busy Saturday that there were no starter or course Marshall. We were lined up with 3-4 groups on many tee boxes and constantly had the group behind hitting into us, almost hitting us twice. As well, some of the members of the groups ahead of us were belligerent drunk and unable to talk or stand at the tee box. Many groups on other holes were screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Upon finishing the round we wanted to return into the clubhouse to enjoy some food and a drink, however there were a group of older men physically fighting and assaulting each other inside/outside the clubhouse door. We did not feel safe to even return the rented clubs we had or cart key.The staff were not doing anything to contain the issue and seemed to have no concern for the other patrons at the establishment. Frankly it was a very embarrassing experience to be apart of and I will not be returning.

I really enjoy this course. I typically play just 9 holes and love to walk and carry my own.bag. This is a good course for walking. I enjoy that you can play most holes a variety of ways. I really enjoy how the course staff treats you. I have played with several members and they are quite welcoming. This course should be on everyone's list.

Well maintained course. Considering it's one of PEI's non-waterfront courses, it's exceptionally pretty. Especially this time if year. Bugs can be thick in the summer, but bring your bug spray and this course is definitely worth putting on your list.

- Used a Golf PEI coupon, and it was still more expensive to play with a junior than it is to play at Brudenell. - A member told me a free bucket of balls was included with a green fee. Staff said it wasn't included. - The round took us 4h45 to play, on a Thursday mid-morning. There were two groups per tee box on most holes -The greens were very hard to read because they were full of sand -The course was in descent shape overall I've played here in the past but likely won't in the future. It wasn't an overall good experience.
