Playing at Settler's Ghost and being a member of Golf North has been an outstanding experience. The Men's league is second to none and the pro staff is outstanding.

We decided to try and support Canada's golf courses rather than going to the states to golf ( lucky enough to enjoy a multipal golf trips a year). The decision was to go to Forest Golf Club and do the stay and play package; there was four couples this past Sunday September 3-4. I first arrived at the check in counter and two ladies were sitting down behind the counter aware I was standing there. I commented who I needed to see and each looked at the other than one said she would look after me with no hello-smile or even a little bit of warmth. The rooms even though dated are VERY clean and comfortable. We proceeded to go to the pro shop and check in--this time a young gentleman was sitting behind the counter and was not interested at all nor was friendly or even a thank you??? The course was in fair shape and even though the yardage is short the holes were challenging. We played eighteen holes and never saw the bar cart that we were informed would come around a couple of times. Note: number nine tee and ten are not near the club house which we discovered. We finished the round and again the course is fair and can be fun when playing in a group. Dinner time and it was included in the package along with breakfast. The server was very friendly and certainly genuinely happy to be at work. We all commented on how she made it a very positive experience. The food was a different story--steaks so well done that it was difficult to even cut -- the veg was over steamed and when you picked the asparagus up with the fork it came apart aling with the potatoes being rotten. Next morning breakfast and a different server was certianly not a happy person. My omelette was not completely cooked but she never came out to ask how anything was for us...only real comment came when we paid the bills for the coffee at $5 and gave her $20 asking for only $10 back. The server had no change and a couple of times looking at us and loudly asking if another server had change because we did not have it. Onto the second round and the gentleman at the club house was older--friendly and appreciated our business. Again no bar cart which makes it difficult to support the course even with the threatening letter about being ejected from the course if you are found with alcohol. I do not disagree with this policy and support it but really---18 holes and no means of getting a drink??? We decided to stay for lunch and again the same server from breakfast came over with no smile...manage to get our drinks and lunch ordered. The drinks came out and another server brought our food. I ordered the meatball sandwich which appeared to be a greasy burger pattie cut in have and served on the rye bread which was soggy because of the grease. The server never came back for more drink orders as we all sat in front of empty glasses or ask about our food. Plates sat in front of us and she approached the table with a our bills and said you can hand them out to me???No thanks....did you enjoy your stay...even have a nice day??? Also note we went passed the front desk several times and just once one of the many people there said hello to us. Customer service except for two staff was not at an acceptable appreciative level. Golf North which we appreciate the original philosophy has during the past couple of years failed in a few of their courses with customer service and food quality; sad because we golf numerous times at some of their locations but recently have started to search for different courses. I am embarrassed that we organize this event for the group and was assured they would no be back? Jeff

Played Brant Valley which is normally a fair to good experience. Today took 4hrs to play 12 holes and the delay after each hole was just getting longer as speed of play got slower and slower. Decided to stop after the 12th hole. Pro shop manager apologized. Said sorry guys I know you come here a lot. Well maybe not in the future. A coupon or something would have been a good client experience.

At the start of September 2016, my son and I booked and played the Northern Dunes Golf Course in Hepworth, Ontario. It was one of worst golf courses we've ever played at. It's in very bad shape. The fairways lack decent growth of grass (hole # 8 fairway is nothing but sand, honestly, we couldn't believe it). The cart paths are all gravel and sand, thus causing the carts to be dirty and dusty; most carts have torn seats. And they have the nerve to charge us $100. The only positive thing we can say about this course, is the staff in the Pro Shop and the young lady at the beverage cart. They were pleasant and acted very professionally. As to the course, you would be better off to play in a cow pasture. I give it one star for the sake of the Staff.

It would be better playing off a cow pasture than the 1st nine holes at Northern Dunes. Had to find little patches of grass on fairways which looked as if they have had little if any maintenance - dried out and hard and often impossible from the tee to distinguish between fairway and rough. Played in a 4 some with carts, both of which had tires go flat and replacements provided had torn seats. The back 9, which public can see from the road, was reasonably well maintained. Not worth an 18 hole fee and will not play again

Completely abandoned Kings Bay Golf Course. That course used to be a hidden gem but has been left to get weed infested The bunkers have turned to concrete. They don’t even put soap and water in the ball washers

Played at oaks of St. George yesterday. Booked a tee time that started almost an hour later because of a cart shortage. On top of that one of out carts breaks down on the fifth hole. Had to wait almost an hour to get a new cart. All this on top of a backed up course. The round took 7 hours and that is unacceptable

Mark Church

Golfnorth is a joke. Wont guarantee you a cart and wont give you number to course to see if one would be available. They expect you to do the hour drive and just hope one is available. Rude on phone too. 35 courses she says. Thats if you count the 25 that are dumps i guess.

ive had one of the worst, most disgusting customer service experiences with GolfNorth they have a lot of nice properties and my wife and i have played many of them. on sept 26th we tried Acton golf club. horrible golf course, but that wasnt my problem that day. i contacted GolfNorth to express my concerns, and ive been absolutely dismissed...no return calls from them, when i did get a hold of someone in management, all i got is 'what do i want, what do i expect' no attempt at appeasing the situation. they frankly do not care... DISCUSTING... they will not get one single penny from us again

Beware of poor business ethics. On September 14th at 8:45am, I was traveling on Kossuth Road that runs adjacent to their Beaverdale facility, when a golf ball came through the trees and hit my vehicle causing a dent in the left front fender. I reported the incident in detail to the establishment later that day to the Manager on duty and I was told to expect a call from the General Manager in the following days. I followed up 3 days later in person and I was then told that they will not accept any responsibility for my damages. They informed me that the person who hit the ball was responsible and that they would have to audit the player list to find the party at fault. I then had to follow up again 2 weeks later, at which time I was told their internal investigation has resulted in a dead end and they would forward my concern to upper Management. As you can see by the date of this post, it has now been a full month and nobody has contacted me nor accept responsibility which means I either face paying my $500 deductible or pay to have it fixed out of pocket to prevent a claim. After speaking with others from the area, it became apparent that this is not an isolated incident. After looking in detail at their course this is due to the design and the lack of protective netting to prevent this from happening. This is just bad business not only for their patrons but locals that pass by on a daily basis. One day if someone gets struck in the face with a ball while driving with their window down, this could lead to a serious accident over a simple solution like netting to protect everyone's interests.

Well maintained golf course.

One word...Disgusting! I'm not sure if they are running these properties into the ground on purpose for future land development?...just a sad sack of Golf courses now, on what used to be loved and we'll taken care of properties.

Conestogo G&C Club - Staff are great, you never get nicked and dimed to death when checking in. Great twilight rates. Some random guy working there even gave me a ride to the first tee box (Moores) which is a good walk. Course is in excellent shape. Just few geese on one hole. I guess that's why it is called goose run. Can't wait to play again, hopefully break a 100!

I've always had great luck booking tee times on the phone. They are friendly, efficient and usually manage to find me a time or suggest another course. Some problems booking carts etc but its to be expected with covid. Overall very happy with courses and staff.

Sorry, I won't be playing there any time soon with price gouging for the cart rental. I understand that there is a need to recoup some of the losses but $26.50 for the cart plus another $9.00 for single driver supplement. Too rich for me.

Poorly organized no coffee at 8:30,no sand in traps

Played Conestoga Village and Moors, staff were incredible on every interaction, course was in good enough shape (although I'm not a fan of finding rocks in the bunkers), fun and challenging enough for an intermediate golfer, certainly recommend as value for money at this course was good

Randy Meyers

Bad service. Head office does not listen to their members. Hmmm where’s the revenue coming from? You’re welcome.

Fun course with very friendly staff - a great experience even for beginners. We'll be back.

Once golf north takes a course on it turns to garbage after a few years. I have seen so many go from great to garbage

Great Courses - Pricing Starting to be fueled by greed. Let me start by saying that the courses offered by GolfNorth are great and the multi-course membership is a unique offering that allows members to play multiple courses. HOWEVER - Prior to the pandemic, members who bought memberships prior to February of the golf season would be rewarded with an "early bird" discount both reducing the price of the yearly membership (by a few hundred dollars) and giving a $100 GolfNorth gift card for use in pro-shops etc. Since golfers were deprived of playing early in the April season due to the lockdowns, GolfNorth offered members the option that memberships were valid until year end instead of the regular October expiry (i.e. December of 2021 instead of October). A nice gesture. Fast forward to October 2021 - the early bird membership option is ONLY available to pre-existing members AND you must buy during the first two weeks of October AND the membership discount is no longer (you pay full price for the membership, you are just being given early access at a chance to buy a membership....). Don't forget to couple this with an increase across the board to ALL membership prices. The perk that is being touted is "play the remainder of the 2021 season free!" .... but if memberships are extended to the end of the 2021 calendar year, and existing members are the only ones eligible to purchase....your existing membership already covers that period? This is just a move fueled by greed to recoup and take advantage of golfers who were unable to play due to the pandemic.

I like there Golf courses enjoyable to play and the staff is awesome. Dealing with Golf North and purchasing a membership a nightmare.

Played oaks of st George today, feeling like 43..no cart on the course, no water in the club house. I felt unwell after 9 holes due to the extreme heat, and they would not provide arain cheque... I guess they couldn’t do the math ... they would make more money from us for a return trip. Poor public relations..

Bob Rice

Absolutely terrible customer service from such a large organization. It is impossible to locate someone within Golf North that can assist you. I have sent 8 emails and left one voice mail (when I can actually located an extension for a Golf North manager). With neither of the golf North managers returning my contact attempts. We cancelled a tee time and changed courses yet we were charged for both as they forgot to cancel it. I was told by the manager of Beaverdale Barb that it’s not their fault and they can’t refund the missed tee time. Yet they advised over the phone it would be cancelled, and was done so 72 hours prior to the tee time. All while we were actively golfing at another Golf North course during the allotted tee time but we have been blamed for their mistake. I guess they assume we can be in two courses at once. To add salt into the wound we had the pleasure to deal with one of the rudest and most condescending customer reps at Dundee Golf Club that day as well. We were delayed almost 40 minutes before we were able to tee off, and advised that there was no Marshall on the course so the pace of play is slow. We were consistently waiting every hole while groups in front of us were not paying attention to when they had the right away (I don’t blame them) but it shows terrible management by not having a Marshall during a very busy day on the course. We then completed our front nine three and a half hours after our original tee time! Almost enough time to hit a full 18 holes in some cases. We politely approached the club house at the turn to request a rain cheque for our back nine as it was pre-paid due to the extremely slow conditions not to mention being on pace for a 7-8 hour round. I was made to feel stupid and like I was wrong by Dan during our interaction. Advised that they can’t do anything for slow pace of play, that a 7 to 8 hour round isn’t bad and that it was not 3 and half hours as it was 5 minutes to 6pm not actually 6pm yet. Dan then advised after moving the computer mouse once and clearly not clicking on anything on his screen that he does not know how to use the system. He used this as his excuse to not provide us with a rain cheque. Inability is never an excuse to not assist a customer when the course is clearly at fault Would love to say we will never golf there again but unfortunately this company has a monopoly on golf courses. We sure will avoid these courses.

Robert Prudencio

Great to be outdoors again...even better with a golf club in your hands!

Carlos Martins

Head Office is 0 help. Cant gauruntee carts from the head office which I get, but they wont even give you the number for the course directly because they're "too busy". Wonder how every other course is able to pick up the phone AND get groups off at the same time. Magicians! You're also looking at 5+ hour round because they over book and dont have any one out there speeding things up. Must also be too busy

Nice courses, their headquarters are located here Y Conestogo golf course, it's a 27 hope course, not a fan of the links but the river course is nice

Not sure why at 4pm on a beautiful Saturday there was no beer cart. But fine, we loaded up before the round and expected to reload after 9. 6pm we arrive at the bat/snack house at the pro shop and its closed already. No good. No drinks. 9 more holes. Sunny hot evening. Please tell me why?

Always have friendly staff

Alert my fellow golfers!. The worst experience ever... When you book through the Golfnorth system, they ask you to provide the credit card for "RESERVATION" only. But, when they send you the confirmation, your reservation with the credit card becomes an automatic payment for no shows in their definition. Four of us booked for Mystic Golf on August 5, 2021. On the day of our golf, one of us had to turn back for his personal issue. The rest of us went on paying and playing still. The golf course knew there was one person that did not show up by the fact three of us can only play. Mystic reports it to Golfnorth, they called it the corporate, and Golfnorth charged for the last person on reservation credit card. We called to complain to the CORPORATE and the manager basically said they sent a confirmation email with all details (details can change as they wish). So, it is solely our issue not read and report the last person's no show in advance. HOW CONVENIENT it is for them to work on other people's credit card. Golf is now definitely the supplier's market. Green fee has amazingly increased not to mention their attitudes towards all golf lovers. How bitter...
