I have played Mackenzie for 5 years now, mostly as a single, so I've met hundreds of new people, some members, some visitors - all fans of the course and the club. I've played with some superb golfers, and some abysmal ones, but all having fun and not being rednecks or jerks. The food is awesome, service is great, the staff are happy and the pros are real pros, love it. Great golf for a great price.

The staff are very helpful hauling our equipments going to a specific hole where we need to set-up. After taking souvenir photos of all participants in the CRRA Golf Tournament, …

A beautiful course with challenging holes, great scenery and plenty of wildlife.

Tim Gilhuly

This a premier course in Calgary with a great vibe and awesome staff. Challenging layout for every level of golfer. Highly recommended.

Manpreet

Have a corporate membership here. Staff is great. Practice area is great. Really good greens ! They are just always in great shape.

Sean Walters

This was a great course. The groundskeeping staff is at an abundance which is shown in the presentation of the course. The staff all had smiles and we're great to interact with. The back nine was a bit more challenging then the front but that could be just the visual intimidation of the water hazards

Richard Bezemer

Went to their lobster night night and for the price the first was excellent.

Mathew Y.

Super friendly staff, really challenging course, halfway house where you need it, great driving range.

Ryan Pratt

Great track, East and West ranges to hit off mats or grass. With a chipping, putting and bunker practice area by the West range. If you can get a deal on a tee time I'd definitely pick it up. They have a golf academy as well and a team of pros if you're looking for lessons. I'm taking some now and it's certainly helping.

literally the nicest public course I have been to in all my life. great for newer and more experienced players as you have almost no risk of hitting windows and other golf related expenses that come with the game. The back nine holes are …

This is one of the best places to golf in Calgary. The staff are friendly, the clubhouse has great food, their store always has new items and most importantly, the golf course itself is very well kept and fun to play on !!!

Ravy Kang

Great staff awesome course, Wonderful environment to play at highly recommended.

Larry & Jackie Willard

This is a fun nice course. The layout is great and plays fairly easy as there are no trees. Always first class greens. Great bunkers with consistent sand. I would give it 5 stars except the pricing is a little higher than it should be for this course.

From other reviews it seems like it's not the first time the staff here have been incredibly rude or just out right dangerous. A family member and their child was golfing yesterday accompanied by another middle-aged man who works there. The employee was really furious because the family member and the child were relatively new golf players and apparently were breaking "golf etiquette". As a result, he was belittling the child and swearing at the family member. In the end, the family member also become mad and the two had a verbal argument ending with the family member being assaulted and the employee getting away with no charges or even being reprimanded by the company. While another proshop worker was helpful he also mentioned how this was no serious issue which really shows the level of care they have for the golfers. No apologies from staff or from the other man himself. It's really crazy the type of people that come here and what kind of things they can get away with.

Beautiful fall day at Mckenzie Meadows. Great course and staff.

Great roast beef friendly service. A pleasure to DJ here.

Just finished my first of six 45 min swing tune up classes and it was great

Stephen Franchuk

Had a nice round here. Rather busy and the fairways weren’t in great condition but it was cheap and they are very busy with the spike in golf this year. Good as an occasional course

Les Johnson

Good course, good practice facilities. COVID protocol very good. Do not go right on the back 9!

Justin

I'm a member at a course across the city but I use McKenzie's practice facilities quite often, specifically the grass driving range. The facility is well kept, including the putting green. It's been really busy lately but the team is doing a good job ensuring everyone is social distancing. My only complaint is the gravel parking lot but it's worth the dust on the car.

Had a great time. Took my cousin who is from Edmonton because it is such a nice course. The marshal for the evening was very nice and polite. Had tons of fun. But as a group of qualified professionals we were a little taken aback by the …

Played this course April 5th. The course was in okay condition. Extremely slow waited on every hole. Perhaps this was because it was a weekend.

Annie Champagne

Beautiful golf, well maintained and great staff. Our first time playing here and we will be back.

Mona

First time golfing here and I liked the course itself. It’s my husbands favorite course in Calgary. Unfortunately the organization was terrible the day we went. When we arrived we were told they were behind 1,5 hours then they missed to …

We had our wedding in the main bar area, and it was amazing. The price was more than reasonable, staff were very accommodating and they set up the space perfectly. We had the prime rib for one of our food options and it was perfect. Thank you Paul for everything!

Course is in good shape; great food at the clubhouse

Bonnie Wong

My daughter had her wedding there last weekend and I have nothing but good things to say! The staff were amazing to work with. All of our questions were answered in a timely fashion and there were no hidden expenses! The food was amazing and exactly what we asked for! I highly recommend McKenzie Meadows for any future function you may be having!

Eunice Andrews

Fantastic game, great course to play.

Jim Bourlon

This course is in great shape

Josh Spracklin

Driving range attendant was fun and friendly. The stalls are mostly dirt, not great!

Dallas Robinson

Always a good spot for a fun round. Course is in good shape and the pace isn't crazy fast which makes for an enjoyable time instead of a stress fest.

great golf course . love to play it again

While golfing today there was an extremely disappointing and poorly managed incident happened at McKenzie Meadows Golf Club. This incident has now justified for myself and the other parties involved, not attended or support this golf establishment again. This afternoon, a group in front of our party had an individual who rented a set of Callaway golf clubs had two golf club heads break off. While golfing today, the course was delayed and backed up due to morning frost. While being backed up we saw the group in front us of being professional and having polite golf ethic. When we finished our round of golf, we witnessed an extremely unpleasant and poorly managed incident related to the golf course handling the broken club rentals. We found out the individual was charged $350 for the repair charges of the two club heads that came off. I previously worked at a high golf establishment in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and upon the clubhouse handling this event was shocking. I spoke with the older male (whom name will not be disclosed on social media) while in the presence of one of the other golfers from the initial group who was shocked of the handling of the situation. The golf attendant informed the $350 was the standard price they were to charge for the two golf heads. Shockingly the price was ordered to be paid prior to the clubs being repaired/quoted of the cost it would cost. The pro shop attendant informed the head pro told him that was the cost to charge the individual. Multiple issues stand out here for the individuals involved and I. The head pro is not the repair company who charges out the cost, nor does the head pro have the resources of providing a cost. The clubs were not estimated by a professional establishment nor repaired. The pro shop attended informed the clubs are sent back to Callaway where they are repaired. These clubs (rentals) are typically newer rentals depending of the course and they do have warranty. Neither the less this individual was charged $350 for two clubs to be repaired that have yet to be repaired nor estimated. Upon informing the pro shop attendant of the displeasure and poor customer service that we would not be returning to the establishment, he simple laugh. He then stated, “I do not care for two people not returning, we have 1,100 other people more than willing to pay for golf here.” That remark was the face of this organization setting a new low standard of customer service to the public. When a standard is set like this incident/remark, it represents the company and what it stands for. It was extremely disappointing to how this situation was handled.

We had our wedding in their party hall and it was awesome! The staff were super helpful, the setting was beautiful and the food was excellent. They also gave us a really reasonable price on alcohol and threw in some extras like cake cutting. With their support we had a fun, stress-free wedding. I would definitely recommend this place for any event!

Mr Lou

Used the west side driving range and putting green. Great setup.

Dan P

A little disappointing. Two lawn mowers going on every hole. Then got rushed by the Marshall even though we were on the 8th hole 85 minutes in.

Michael Yuan

This is honestly the best managed golf course I've ever played at. The green fees were prepaid online, each player had to check in with the person at the entrance to the parking lot. Each group is announced on the speakers when it was their turn at the driving range (which is complementary), putting green and tee off. It's such a great system and it just works (assuming everyone arrives on time). The course itself is in amazing condition and beautiful. As mentioned above, the driving range comes free with your green fee and it's nicely laid out as well. If I didn't live so far north, I would be a regular at this course.

Kaveh S

This review is for their staff and venue, I don't really golf but the course looks super nice. We picked McKenzie golf course for our wedding and couldn't be happier with the space and the way staff managed everything, Paul is the event manager and is great and reasonable. The food and drinks were delicious.

Mike Sera

Overpriced for what it is (extremely average at best). Driving range is a big letdown this year - full price still with less balls then anywhere else and no access to a putting or chipping area. Ultimately better off at Douglasdale for DR, and Serenity and Blue Devil are far superior courses for the same $ or (oftentimes) less.

Matt Acker

Great prices on a Saturday night. Half price wine and good nachos.

sean williams

Great day for the first round of golf. Awesome friendly staff. Course was decent for the early in the year.

Colin J

Beautiful facility. Right beside the Bow River. 18 holes with a regular driving range as well as a grass driving range on the opposite side with sand trap practice and a putting green.

Sav H

Went for a private event and they did a really nice job of hosting. There were a few people who have celiac's disease and they went out of their way to cater to our allergies. I had only a minor reaction to the food but I'm highly sensitive …

Justin Sherrard

Poor experience. This used to be a favourite course of mine. However this season has changed that. The course is still in fairly good shape although it is worse than last year. Where they lost me is the customer service in the pro shop. They simply don’t care about their customers. We called in for a twilight time and they booked. Twilight has always been a discounted rate for late in the evening golf with the chance you may not finish. For some ridiculous reason they failed to explain this to us at the time of booking. We would’ve had more than enough time to finish based on our time and they wait until after we pay to tell us that it’s only 9. Then we’re very rude about it. This is not the first run in our group has had with them this season. I get the policy of the course part but the lack of caring and rudeness to follow really set you apart in a poor way compared to the dozens of other courses in the south to play on.

Kennedy Bailey

I’m not an avid golfer but I really enjoyed this course. There were complimentary driving range sports for you to use when waiting for your tee time. The marshal at the start is really friendly and gives really good instructions. Drink selection at the club house was a little limited but we were told that it was due to it being the end of the season (totally fair). Dinner was super good and reasonably prices! Hoping to golf here more next summer.

Alebrodie

Best outdoor grass range in the city

Waman Chan

Good condition , green not super fast but reasonable, staff friendly so far I met, location inside the city limits, price very reasonable on weekdays if you book by VIP golf, only $49.00 Includes Power Cart & Bucket of Range Balls.

Jd D'souza

Enjoyed playing this course today. It is quite open and forgiving. The sand bunkers are great with well groomed sand. The greens are pretty good for the most part. The layout is decent. Only downside is the fees are a little high with no real specials to speak of.
