This Golf is classified in the category of Public golf course.
Great public course. quite varied but not too hard.
great public golf course close to ubc. this course seems desinged for more intermediate to advance golf players definetely harder than fairview and langara golf course. small fairway and more trees. gotta know where to.hit the ball. enjoyable golf course only drawback lots of mosquitoes during summer season do not wear shorts they will sting you lol
beautiful green and nice crew
McCleery is a great course and has a fantastic range and practice facilities. During covid they practice social distancing and are decently organized when it comes to letting people in to the pro shop and range. Although sometimes there are plenty of empty mats at the range, sometimes the staff can't see and people need to wait longer than they need to. The course is awesome and well kept.
Great place to go and relax.
Mature relatively flat public golf course and driving range.
I don't really golf but the course is quite forgiving, where the fairways are wide and there aren't many hazards. Good course to get into golf if you want to.
Food os not very good but the golfing facility is ok
(Translated) Today's stadium is in good shape, especially the fairways and greens are well maintained. The work of the park bureau has improved. New evaluation of 9.20: Strong complaints about the tour, no reason to urge us. Is it slow to finish in 4 hours? You can't think that we are slow because the previous group of 2 people played fast? Also urged 2 times. Kao! kao!
Good course
(Translated) McCleery Golf Course, 7188 Macdonald St, Vancouver, BC The government's public field, friends are called "horse field" par 71 and 18 holes, it is not difficult, it is not easy to lose the ball, but it feels a bit awkward before the hole and the hole, probably because of the venue restrictions, the fairway is not width. However, the people on the tour today were a little rushed, and they didn’t hold back. They actually rushed for no more than four times. Challenging course. Narrow fairways
Great track... great course conditions... super fast greens.. pace of play was was unreal, finished in 3 1/2 hours.
Enjoy the golf course. Not a fan of the pro shop staff. Normally we play after work between 4 and 5 PM. The pro shop guy always makes it clear we won't finish in time despite being there on regular basis. Not the best way to start a round of golf and quite annoying. It takes the 2 of us 3 hours to play with a cart. Both of us under 10 handicap. Dispite this the shop staff still are rattled when golfers are on the course when they think they should be going home.
Very nicely kept Golf Course conveniently located and next door to Point Grey where you need to pay $60,000 membership and pay to play on top! the topography is the same and the people at the pro shop and restaurant could not be nicer and more helpful always greeting you with big smile.
Convenient spot to hit off some balls after work. Cheap and quick shooting range.
Paid this course a visit twice while I was in Vancouver during the summer. This is a public course which is very well take care of. The only problem with this course is the mosquitos. They will definitely eat you alive during the summer months, so bring repellent. The greens were great and always in god shape. For a public course , you can’t ask for much more. Hit them long and straight! The staff very super friendly and helpful!
Very impressed with the greens!!!! Fast and pure! Great prices too
Pretty good place, close to home. I would except more tutoring for my kids. Enjoy the food. One of the best City of Vancouver courses.
Went for driving here! Quite pack but it was okay and quite expensive as well. No sitting not a place for golf to be honest. Golf is the place to chill while hitting balls. Not recommended. Would not come back for driving!
It is a wonderful maintenance golf course. Wide fairways with left and right dogleg, water ponds is not a hazard. This golf course is good for all level skill.
Probably the best city owned golf course in Vancouver.
Gives me a chance to use every club in my bag.
Great public course with friendly staff
Clean and nice place.
Very well maintain public golf course with good layout and some challenging holes. . Greens are fast
The course is in great shape right now. Great time on the course.
Nice patio. Course is ok too!
Decent track. Okay value
busy on a weekend but a great time.
Pretty slow and mosquitoes were pretty bad compared to alot of other courses I've been to. Some beautiful challenging holes.
I like this place
Wonderfully beautiful and challenging course - the greens are wicked! Truly my favourite of the Vancouver Public courses.
(Translated) There are only 14 par 3 holes and only 4 par 4 holes, which are only 18 holes or 3,000 yd. (Original) 18홀이나 3,000yd.에 불과한 Par 3홀만 14개에 Par 4홀은 단4개
Shorter course. 18 holes with driving range. Range balls are getting pretty old, the mats are in good shape. No hitting off the grass at the range, mats only. Good condition and reasonable prices. They are limited on power carts so get there early if you're not a walker. They do rent pull carts as an option!
Nice range
Tough Track
A course full of golf...
Not too easy, not too hard
One of the best public courses in Vancouver
Good place for golfing and have something to eat
(Translated) It belongs to one of the three public courses of the Vancouver city government. The location is the best, so it is very difficult to book in summer. The length of the course is shorter. The greens are well maintained. In summer, they will be around 10. Because it is a government course, the green fee is It's very cheap. (Original) 属于温哥华市政府三个公共球场之一, 地理位置是最好的, 所以夏天订场非常难, 球场长度比短, 果岭保养不错,夏天都会在10左右. 因为是政府球场,所以果岭费算是非常便宜的.
Course was in fantastic shape! Great golf value.
Very beautiful

Excellent
Nice grounds. Good instructors. Food variety pretty good for club house.
Course is in great shape! Had a great round of twilight golf. Love the scenery and the very active wildlife. Check out the resident beavers near the 13th and 14th holes.
Excellent service, staff so nice, friendly and helpful. I was so happy that way they explain to you all game rules, keep it up guys. Great prices, definitely will go back to play a little bit more.
Course was not maintained, which would have been fine except for the course marshal. We had two people with us who were not golfers so in all honesty they were not driving the balls the course was expecting. To try and mitigate this we played best ball to keep up with the pace of play. On the first 5 holes we had a marshall watching us though we got ahead of the group behind us so as not to disrupt anyone else’s game. On the 10th hole the marshall reprimanded us for being 1 Minute behind our “pace of play time”. This is despite the fact we were well ahead of the group behind of us. I love golfing as it allows me to relax and disengage of my work life. I understand that the role of the course marshall is to maintain the pace of play in order to not disturb anyone else’s game. However, in this case, there was not a group behind us, and pace of play was maintained. Despite this the the course marshal continued to follow us as the “time” was all that maintained. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who wants the experience of playing a GPA course without the quality. Player experience was not taken into consideration and lead to a stressful and difficult game.
Classic still tops in the lower mainland
Challenging. Deceptive rolling greens, plenty of water and trees. Keep your ball in the fairway and you should be ok.
Great public course about 25 mins from downtown vancouver.
A good experience at McCleery Golf Course. On the day wwe golfed there it was sunny the course in good shape and for a public course the price was just right.
(Translated) Very nice staff. Wonderful landscape. Good field maintenance (Original) Personal muy agradable. Paisaje maravilloso . Buen mantenimiento de campo
During the winter months the clubhouse is only open from 11-2pm. This is dreadful for the golfer needing refreshments.
Too many animals
Worth for newbies
Nice patio and friendly staff. Food is decent and tee booking is easy. Now for the real part.... Tee box on many of the holes are subpar... sand, dry and hard spot at tee off area, terrible adjustment to compensate. The free are nice but inconsistent green speed. Alot of dried out fairway and rough areas.. When I drive onto a fairway, I shouldn't have to use my iron on a hard surface... this happens alot. We are not on a water restriction... get out there and water the course!!! Sorry a little venting there... for the price you pay... other than it's in the city... I wouldn't play there again. If not for the staff, nice patio and convenience... it's be 2 stars or even one.
Great golf course. Well kept.
Nice course and my favourite part? Driving on to the green of the 15th hole where the course backs on to the banks of the Fraser. Well kept greens and well staffed facility.
Great course, and have dealt with the Covid situation very well. Course staff are keeping it organized and orderly!
Wonderful staff, great greens, and awesome course condition! No more needed to be said.
Bring your bug spray. Mosquitos are plentiful and thirsty. Great course for all levels. Back definitely tougher than front.
Excellent conditions and friendly Marshall. Virtually empty on a Monday morning
Great time. Good prices lots of fun.
Spectacular golf course with great views all year round
Very very poor customer service.
Great Staff and Great Food. Very nice course
The fall golden sunshine Vancouver.
Awesome placd
Wonderful green, great public golf course
One of the best public golf courses in the area.
Well serviced course; terrific grounds
(Translated) can play temporary ㅠ.ㅠ; (Original) can play temporary ㅠ.ㅠ;
Favorite course here!! Always maintained well
The team at Dazzle Carpet Cleaning love the amazing track and great greens.
Wonderful place
This is a gem in an area of Vancouver where there are few choices except for private golf clubs. Don't be fooled by the yardage, play the white tees to have fun or get familiar with the layout. The wind can kick up and put you in tough spots. Very tight on the back 9 and it starts with #10, a monster uphill par 4 that plays like a par 5. The greens are smooth and fast and overall the course is in nice shape. For a City of Vancouver course this is a great choice.
Good course
Good city course. Nice challenge. Good track.
Great place to golf, friendly staff members. Nicely built golf course with a lot of old growth trees, great place for birds sightseeing.
Golf course was in great shape, some challenging holes. Will play there again. Was slow until course manager got them to go faster. Try it out.
The course is well maintained for a muni, and offers practically year-round golf . Watch out for 10, 11 and 12, as these holes are tough one after the next.
Great little course for the public casual golfer
Great for a city course, well designed and well maintained. But marshals are BRUTAL so pace of play is extremely unpredictable. I've played 3.5 hour rounds there and I've played 5.5 hour rounds. Marshals just drive around doing nothing. …
Good,!
Decent course in the city.
I am pleased to play here. Fairways and greens area nicely maintained. Autumn views are quite nice too.
Disappointing experience with staff at this golf course. Had what we thought was a 7am tee-time and were checking in at 6:59am (granted running a tiny bit late, but nothing absurd) when we were told that our tee-time was actually 6:54 (6 minutes late at this point). We apologized, things happen... people run late. The marshal of the course proceeds to chime in and tell us “well you’re not golfing today”. The pro shop employee Shaun told us that since we missed our tee time we were not allowed to golf. At this point there was 1 group of 4 that had just tee’d off and no one immediately behind them. We, again, apologized and offered 2 solutions: - run to either hole #2 or 3 and start our round from there (still willing to pay for 18), to which he responded “that’s not how things work around here” - 2nd solution was to tee off at hole 10 and play 9. We just wanted to golf and for whatever reason we were the ones trying to accommodate and rectify the situation. Our back 9 solution was denied by Shaun saying “we have maintenance crews on the back 9, so no.” [as we were leaving we saw a group of golfers on hole 11]. Meanwhile the marshal, who clearly wasn’t marshalling the course and instead was interrupting our conversation and chiming in with snide comments, was offering no help to the situation. Shaun then said “wish I could help you but I can’t”. There was absolutely no effort to accommodate us. We were kicked from the course with no regard for our attempted contribution to a public establishment. We then voiced our disappointment and there was no upper management available to speak with. We understand policies on a golf course as we are avid golfers, however, there is common sense and customer service standards in any business that McCleery did not meet. If we were 15-20 minutes late we would understand... the course fills up fast and there isn’t a lot of wiggle room.... but we were 5 minutes late. The kicker to all of this: as we were leaving... there was a twosome on the first tee about to head off... I asked them whether they had anyone joining them and they said no. Blatant disregard to try and make something work for my friend and I. Will not be going back and are very disappointed with the staff and how they handled an easily rectifiable situation. Not friendly at all and arguably spiteful. PS: we both work in management and understand what it means to have good customer service... this was terrible.
Great public course that gets less love than it should. The first 6 or so holes are kind of wonky but once you hit the back nine the course blossoms into something beautiful. Pro tip: hit from the blues on the par 3 13 even if you're hitting whites, the hole turns into something magical at the top of the steps and if you hit the green you're guaranteed to love the hole forever!
Mosquitoes are bad!
Nice little course.
Awesome
Course is very good condition it's just always too slow 5 hours at this time of year is bad. Marshalls have to do a better job
very nice Golf course, friendly staffs
They have one of the best ranges in the lower mainland, and a very diverse and professional coaching staff. The course is always in great conditions.
Driving range was awesome! Will be back
Over priced Vancouver course. Went a couple weeks ago, booked online and found out once we arrived that they were all temp. greens. Would have been nice to post that information on the site.
Amazing golf course????
Nice course. The restaurant is what you would expect. I really like the challenge of the 10th hole. Worth playing! Fraserview is still my fav public course in Vancouver though.
Beautiful course, not overly expensive. Was good for my beginner golf skills.
Great place to golf! Staffs here are wonderful!
Good
You will have 4 to 5 mosquitoes circling you at all times. I had to spray all exposed skin and all my clothing just to prevent them from biting me. They definitely will screw with your game. Course is tight fairways and challenging.
Good course and reasonably priced for a City course. Some interesting holes that's rewards a good tee shot
Awful tee-time management. Pro running it at the time was MATTHEW STEGER. Starter was running around like a chicken without a head. My friend and I witnessed this following episode and in the end had no choice but to get a refund and leave the gong show scene/course. A twosome tees off just before 5pm, foursome to follow but nowhere to be seen, while twosome is already on the green (par 5 first hole). Foursome shows up at 520, log jam already forms on the first hole. Meanwhile, no one on the 10th tee box, and no one even on the 9th tee box (not for at least 15 minutes!) minimum 3 hole gap. Absolute failure to accommodate. After all this, Matthew wanted to charge a full 18 for a power cart rental on the off chance 11 or 12 holes were completed by sundown. People who golf, just want to golf. But I guess this is what you can expect from a public city course where no one is held accountable. If you're looking to squeeze in 18 after work, or even 9 holes under 3 hours, don't go to Mcleery.
Great staff
Beautiful greens fantastic staff
Played my first round of the year April 10th. The day before was pouring rain all afternoon evening. Course held up great. Can't say the same about my game.
Still a bit wet even after a sunny day yesterday.
Poorly managed. Went on a busy day recently there was no Marshall keeping pace. Slowest match I’ve played 5 hours for 2 players.
Nice place to walk around as I don't play golf
Well maintained for a public, parks course. There are holes here for every skill level. Not crazy long, but does have some challenging holes and a few that okay longer than their yardage. Keep it on the fairway and you will be in good shape here.
The twilight tee time is scheduled too late to finish the game . I played in the first group of twilight yesterday but I couldn't finish the game due to sunset.
Management running the golf course should likley be terminated. Terrible attitudes and they treat their employees poorly. They consistently underhire with not enough employees or equipment to do the jobs requirements defined when they start. And then they get upset when said job cannot be completed in record time by the employees. Really ugly attitudes as well from some of the Non seasonal staff. Their Union sadly protects them whilst undermining the seasonal staff from ever getting ahead. Try another course out. There are better out there.
Like this place a lot. Got membership!
Mosquitoes everywhere during summertime, especially on humid days. Groups ahead of us quit before the 9th hole due to mosquitoes. That's how bad it was. I won't come back here until autumn.
Good driving range & putting greens
Nice course, lots of parking, friendly staff
Clean, safe, great service
One of my favorites. Hole 10 makes me quit golf every time
Good place to practice. Limited stalls though.
The staff in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. However, the marshal I encountered during by round there was an absolute lunatic. We had complained that we were behind pace, when he came out, he was verbally abusive towards us, and used offensive language that was uncalled for. We did nothing to provoke him to act in the manner he did. He then tried telling us that we weren’t behind pace when we’d played four holes at around 20 minutes every holes with a ten minute wait on the tee box, and a ten minute wait in the fairway on every single hole. The funny thing is this was on a Tuesday afternoon. Not a busy weekend or anything. As someone who has worked in the golf industry for the last ten years, I was amazed that someone who behaves in this way would ever be employed by any golf course. Other than that, the course conditions were a 2/5 which is expected for a course that gets a lot of play. There were tons of divots on all the fairways and ball marks on the greens. The scenery however was breathtaking. The practice facility is also fantastic.
(Translated) I love it (Original) 超喜欢
Driving Range is top notch.
Classic still tops in the lower mainland
Sometimes difficult to get a parking spot. It’s a beautiful place.
Excellent facility. Yardage well marked. Good golf balls. Clean place.
Good
Good course, easy playing a round about 4 hrs, relax and enjoy.
One of the three city courses in van. Highly recommend. More technical than the other two courses
Poor service. We went out for a round at 2pm on a Sunday and were we're excited to get a drink and a sandwich after the 9th hole. The restaurant was closed by 4pm on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Couldn't even get a bag of chips we were starving. Played the back 9 hungry. Absolutely unacceptable for how much you pay and what they have to offer. Course wasn't even that nice. Will not be back
Beautiful course. Also allows you to pay for 9 hole only, if you don’t have time to play the full 18 Prices are very fair and they have driving range to warm up whereas places like Fraserview do not and they are the same price range.
Great muni course. Mostly flat . Tree lined fairways. Hit it straight.... Clubhouse has pub food.
Beautiful surroundings!
Effectively a pitch and putt and terrible course management - a few examples: divots everywhere, holes in fairways large enough to sprain your ankle, random puddles and mud holes all over the course despite bone dry fairways, sand traps are more like gravel traps and contain rocks, a few greens had spots of missing grass as large as one square foot or so, there were clumps of grass all over the course from the last time it was cut, there were large patches of weeds throughout the fairways, and most surprisingly, there were mole holes all over the course. Also, the scorecard online is misleading. There were only two tee options, and contrary to the yardage posted online, only a couple holes were longer than 250 yards, most were par 3s or par 4s which by normal course standards should be par 3s.
Well run and very courteous staff!
Great layout and well conditioned. The trees force you to be accurate off the tee.
Challenging / Starter and marshalls present / Driving range
Horrible narrow spaces, between holes, basically poorly designed, jam packed on Sunday, balls flying all around, rude golfers swing in the middle of others fair way, just don't go there
Great golf course, tight fairways with holes with dog leg right & left. Nicely manicured, good fairways and greens. Good walking course. Friendly staff and nice clubhouse.
Course was in great condition, beautiful day. Bummer that carts only available for front 9 but it is what it is in our current world situation!
Asian guy behind counter at checkin must of had a bad day already..didnt seem pleasant..course has signage but how come no staff or sign to give a headsup of tons of mosquitos a plenty on the course..attacked on every hole..not a pleasant day..will not be back
Very good public golf course. Lots of challenging holes. The greens run true and the fairways were in good condition. The biggest negative is it is hard to get a tee time.
Not too wet even given the rain.
Unbelievably horrible course management. Never ceases to amaze me. This place could be world class....
They do a good job applying covid protocol at the driving range.
Great public course. Nicely kept, probably the 2nd best VanGolf course.
Great heated driving range
Not bad if you live in Vancouver but there are better options out there .
Clean and well maintained place.
Terrible customer service by golf course staff member on family day, very rude, would never come back!
Good shape..a little pricey..
Amazing conditions for a public course! Maintenance staff do a great job.
Ver nice
Coyote haven. Good course.
I've played here many times over the past few years and have used the driving range many times. While some of the staff are fine, overall my experience here is that the staff/management are often very unfriendly, dismissive or rude. That experience ranges from the course marshal to the cafeteria to the front desk staff in the shop to the driving range. Definitely not everyone who works there fits that bill, but enough times I've left that course shaking my head asking myself "why are these employees so rude and how do they get away with this?". The sad thing is, the poor attitude really reflects badly on the course itself, which is generally in good shape, is fun to play, and the grounds crew does a great job. I've played a variety of courses throughout BC and the U.S. both private and public... McCleery hands down is the only one I've had where I've encountered this type of ongoing issue. There's a real attitude of entitlement at this place, in my opinion that needs to be addressed through proper training in customer service for staff/management.
Very clean, nice and great atmosphere
Absolutely disgusted with the (lack of) customer service from this course. My husband attended this course with a friend. Ahead of him was a father and (novice) son, who were holding up several players on the course. My husband asked if he could pass the group however, was told no. One of my husband's golf balls came about 50 yards to the group and the father aggressively approached my husband and said he was going to call the police claiming that my husband was attempting to beat him up?! The conversation was so aggressive my husband felt no other option but, to leave. My husband spoke with the course and wanted either his money returned or a free round. The Manger Kim Cooper told my husband after "assessing" the situation, she would not return any money nor would the course be willing to offer a free round. My husband is a business professional and very well respected within the legal community, he was treated terribly by the staff at this course. Absolutely disgusting customer service from the staff working that day and Kim Cooper.
Summer months are acceptable. Don't think about it during winter. Management is a bunch of stuck up people thinking their muni course is pebble Beach. You still play it but park Vancouver needs to step it up. Burnaby golf is much better managed. That's just muni golf we are talking about. Private ones are on a totally different level..
Good golf course but very busy
Greens are in good shape. Marshals can be nicer. Overall nice course to play.
Jimmy Han one of the coaches apparently the PGA golf professional, I somewhat hope that you can: 1) Stop talking about a business opportunity with customers that are not your students 2) Stop planning to steal customers from your workplace for the sake of making profit for your potential business, that is not cool 3) Stop talking badly about the employees at McCleery, I don't find them in any way bad. In fact, it's a pretty good facility 4) Stop talking about how unfair the coaching compensation rate is that has got nothing to do with the customers 5) Stop talking badly about your PGA association and how they allow more average level golfers become pros like yourself, they might be as special as you think you are 6) Stop using people for your own advantage and benefit; using as in taking someone's business ideas, plans, knowhow and the experience to run it by yourself 7) Show more respect when talking about people behind their back when they're not around, the listeners usually don't care or will see you differently 8) Stop selling the religion as a means of making yourself look good, the other party might be more of a sincere believer 9) Please think before speaking, when customers visit alone the driving range, it's probably because they want to spend time alone, not to be bothered by your usual "eh, sup man???" when #1-8 "probably" have occurred and the customer doesn't like to interact with you any longer 10) Learn more proper manner, etiquette and behaviour when dealing with people who are not your students, they are probably professionals in different fields 11) Use less ego and maybe try understanding others from their perspectives maybe ? Thanks
Not a good spot, check in guy was miserable and rude, the track is overall boring, no carts after a certain time and you can’t play until dusk.
Lost my 9-iron's head in the field and these guys were very patient and helped me find it after hours! Prices are great too and staff and service is the best! 5/5
