REVIEWS OF Camisle Golf IN Burlington

Dennis Lariviere

Wow. The place is in such bad shape. It's no where worth the money they charge. Plus paying extra for the golf cart. That are so old. I will not play there again. The tee boxes are in ruff shape. The fairways are over grown, and disrepair. The greens are like what you expect in the fall. Air holes haven't been filled in. Ant holes on the green. Browning badly. This course is in very bad shape. Plus it's only 9 holes now.

Jack Madden

Worst Golfing in town! Literally every single other place in Burlington it 10x better. Book tee time for 7:30 AM, showed up with a group, NOBODY EVEN THERE?! It looked like a witch shack in an old swamp. So my friends and I played a few holes, didn't pay yet though, because nobody was there. The course was not at all maintained. It looked like a post apocalyptic golf course. Weeds everywhere, and the fairway was basically the rough way, and the rough being a damn jungle. My friends left without paying, but the owner had just showed up, so I figured I'd pay the rip off fee for me and one other friend, simply because I felt bad and didn't know if there were security cameras or if the owners were the type to go after people for not paying. Regardless, I paid on their glitchy debit machine. I honestly hope that they go bankrupt. At least that way somebody who actually cares for golf can buy the course from the bank and actually maintain it. If it were maintained then it would be great, but it's basically just a marsh. Came home shoes soaked though. DO NOT GO HERE!!! IT is a rip off, you will not be happy. The only good reviews on here are from the owners. If I could I'd rate 0 stars, I would. Rude staff even when I did come back to pay. I kind of wish I hadn't now.

Cameron Lund

Its fun and great for beginners/intermediates looking for a longer course, only issue is the greens are kept in less-than-ideal condition

Excellent value at Camisle. This course deserves way more than their 2.X rating. Very friendly staff, and a great layout.

JACK RIEGER

I wish I could do zero stars, we drove 20 minutes to the course, it was a complete dump the fairways were awful. It was a complete cow pasture I’m surprised it is even a golf course. The lady would not let me take a cart because I am only 17 (keep in mind I have my license and I drove there). The place was infested with hornets. She was very rude and dismissive I DO NOT recommend this course.

Joseph DeOliveira

Ummmm water your greens. And weeds are bad, right?

Rob Irvine Jr.

Seen better days - It's a glorified cow pasture now - A real shame - Bit expensive for what you get but if the prices were ever $10-15 bucks for 9 I think they'd make a killing.

Great spot for a quick game, close to town, reasonably forgiving for beginners and priced right. If you are coming to enjoy an evening with your friends you will be more than happy pitching around the 9 hole.

J. David Howard

Suburban Par 3, convenient, a bit quirky. Friendly, great for those of us that are "working on our game".

Ryan Brown, CIM

You get what you pay for here - cheap golf, even cheaper customer service. After booking with GolfNow and being charged a $36 convenience fee (for a $25/player walking fee) I was told they would not honor the green fee that was booked online with the remaining balance as per the confirmation email. The walk-in rate is $22 / player (with no convenience fee) so I'm not sure why this course is even on GolfNow asking for a higher price with convenience fee than the walk-up rate that is lower. Upon clarification, I was essentially told that if I didn't like it I could leave the course without golfing - terrible customer service. It's unfortunate as I was initially trying this course as an option for my young son and I to start playing golf together as he is starting to love the game. I will not be returning to this course and will find another option for us to enjoy in the area. Anyone reading this post, do NOT book via GolfNow, they won't honor the pricing.

Connor Rieger

When you first pull up you will wonder if the shack to the left is part of the design or just run-down. It's actually a theme and continues throughout the course you will see branches on the green, burnt grass, swamp land every where and no signs or paths to nearest hole. This was a horrid experience and WILL NOT be going back again. Also to throw in on the fire my son had an allergic reaction to something there don't know what just putting it out there.

We booked a three person, 18 hole tee time through golf now several days in advance. We called the morning of our tee time to see if it would be possible to add a fourth person to our group. The customer service rep that answered the phone spoke very broken English and was confusing with explaining that the full 18 holes was under construction and therefore not available. The phone then got passed to another representative who explained that, for the same price, we could golf the front 9 twice. Frustrated, we asked if it would still be possible to add a fourth person. The representative then gave an inflated quote for the fourth individual higher then our golf now price. When asked why it was so expensive in comparison we were told, that's our rate, despite the condition take it or leave it. do not recommend.

Larry Norton

Very rediculis . Arrived to play no body in the place.the 18 hole was closed so suggested we would play 9 twice. They first told ME they normally don't take credit cards but would accept mine. Again nobody there!!!! Then they overcharged me but I thought they need the money so whatever. Course is mess . They should really try and make it attractive buy it is the last time they will see ME or my friend who was appalled. Very disappointed

Was a great place to learn/for beginners, you get what you pay for...but I really hope someone can turn this place around such a great piece of land and can be a really beautiful course with some loving.

Andrew Phagoo

Perfect for beginners.

Matthew Douglas

Horrendously overpriced and run down 9 hole golf course. The fairways are rough, the greens have seen better days decades ago, and the clubhouse is dilapidated and on the verge of collapse. This place may have been nice in the 50s or 60s, but not worth the price considering better golfing can be had for the same price within short driving distance in any direction. Spent more time searching for my ball in overgrown grass than playing. Would never play this place again even if they allowed me to do it for free, even then it's a rip off.

Great course layout, some challenging holes. A great full-size 9 hole to play!

Jordan Baker

We booked a tee time through Golf Now, but when we showed up, the pro shop refused to honour the booking. The man there told us he had just let the people ahead of us onto the tee through a Golf Now booking so he wouldn't let us play with our tee time and for the rate we had agreed to pay online. He suggested there was nothing he could do and requested we pay a new higher green fee, because he gave our tee time to someone else. It's an awful way to run a business and to treat customers. Maybe with golf courses full this year they can afford to upset their customers. We won't consider this place in the future. Thanks,

James Chezepock

This course is great! Played a foursome here and had a blast. The course was surprisingly challenging and the greens were well maintained. Some of the greens were a bit dry but nothing out of the ordinary. Prices were also reasonable, and staff was extremely friendly.

Robert Sipthorpe

Booooooo!!!!! But a great place for beginners

One of the worst Golf Courses you will ever play. When you pull in to park you will end up wondering if youre at a golf course or in the middle of a swamp / African Lion safari. The place is dismal looking

Eric Desrosiers

We booked our tee time 3 days before and called a few hours before we were meant to go, in order to add another member to our party. The lady on the phone then proceeded to tell us that the back 9 were under construction and we would have to play the front 9 twice - they didn't think to call their customers to tell them this? Anyway expressing our unhappiness of the fact we hadn't been warned ahead of time the ladies on the phone basically said "oh well, take it our leave it, it's not our problem"

Norm Platt

You get what you pay for. Very quirky course. Quirky layout. Quirky staff. Priced aggressively. Expect to lose a few balls because of the layout. You've been warned.

Louis-Philippe Levesque

(Translated) The lady at the reception is terribly stupid and lacks civility, a journey that lacks love. To play during the winter yes, for the rest of the year NO. Even a star is generous. (Original) La dame à l'accueil est terriblement bête et manque de civisme, un parcours qui manque d'amour. Pour jouer durant l'hiver oui, pour le restant de l'année NON. Même qu'une étoile c'est généreux.

It seems to me that a lot of time and effort has been put into this little gem of a 9 hole golf course this year. Its looking very well groomed and always fun to play at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff and a "Laid back atmosphere" make this course a really enjoyable experience!

Mike Santos

It's the butt of every joke

David Paribello

Fun times, but no beer at the clubhouse.

Trevor Ryckman

This place is like mini putt with full sized clubs. Do Not Come Here. Money is better spent at a driving range. The greens are a pile of dirt. Fairways and Tee Boxes are concrete and you can hit the “longest hole” with a 5-iron.

Worst golf experience I've had in my life from checking in with staff to playing on the course and I golf over 100 rounds per summer

Grant Gonchar

Fun for a quick round of golf if your not into spending a lot on golf. Well definitely go back.

Darcie Simpson

Great casual, country-style course, not fancy, but makes for a fun day.

Michael Kim

Should not to open!! Every hole was pile of snow and can't find ball also no putting greens at all

Matthew Lawson

Great for the price!

Justin Cook

I'd say more like a 3.5. For what I expected it was quite good!

1/5 stars is too high of a rating. With a clubhouse straight out of Scooby Doo, this course is a start to finish nightmare. Every swing I took on this course took a year off my life, that’s how much it hurt me. Don’t get me started on the staff. I would honestly rather deal with a squirrel with a top hat than the management they had in place. The fairways are worse than playing in a cornfield as if they gave a 6 year old a pair of scissors and told him to take care of it. I recommend this course to anyone that hates golf and fun.

Gavin Taylor

This place is trash. Greens are a mess. Tee boxes hard as a rock. They lost there liquor licence so no beer. We had to wait on a cart and were told they would bring it to us after we teed off. Got to second green and called club house and they said they couldn't bring it to us so had to run back. No markings on fairway to tell you distance from green. They have a 340 par 5 and a 346 par 4. How does that make sense. And was almost 200 for 4 of us with a cart to play 9. Absolute rip off. Avoid this place at all cost

Brian Mitchell

Sad to see. Yes nothing stays the same but after an absence of 3 years I played there last night and was truly disappointed to see the deterioration.. The 18 holes are gone, left to the weeds. The remaining 9 holes are ok but equivalent to a poor municipal coarse. Enjoyed many games on the 18 hole track over the last 20 years. The wheels have fallen off. The facility is a mess. To play 2 nines with a cart was $55, at least $20 too much. I'm sure there could be a book written about this place, the weird buildings and stone monuments. That was my last game at a place that was once a lot of fun to play. Someone was once probably very proud of what they had built, only to have it go to waste.

Jim Jones

Greens were a disgrace It is a very pretty course but needs a lot of TLC.

Kevin Self

This rustic course is quiet but in need of some tlc. The greens are rough which could be due to the hot summer. The club house is in need of an upgrade. The fairways are narrow and challenging in places and well treed.

Brian Helstrom

Course is in very rough shape. Greens are shaggy and in some cases rotted.

Scott McNicol

I used to love spending a Saturday morning or late evening game here with the boys. Those fun memories, have all but died away much like everything else on this property. Everything is broken, run down and just a complete mess. The care the owners once took for the place , now could be the backdrop for a Jason slasher movie. The original 18 hole course was magical, with deer grazing through from time to time. Now with mismanagement, it has returned to nature, waiting for some land deal to never come save the place from itself. The 9 holes are fine for beginners who just want to work on learning the game without the 'better than though' jerks on the overpriced courses. Play this little rough gem sooner, rather than later, because it is not long for this world. Better managed courses are an actual stones throw from the old Camisle. For a few dollars more, it is totally worth driving past this dump.

Confusing course layout, rude service & poorly maintained fairways. I was abruptly warned by the front desk agent that if it rains, "I hope you brought an umbrella cuz there's no rain checks". It was 35 degrees outside on a Saturday and there was no beer cart anywhere in sight. We called the office & was told that the beer cart girl called in sick & nobody else wanted to do it.....thanks Camisle! If it were a $20-$30 course, I'd understand but there are much better quality courses in Burlington within the same price range.

If you're looking to improve your game in a relaxed setting...then book a time here! Relaxed atmosphere, with great prices for 9 holes of golf!

Linda Hemming

This 9 hole USED to be my favourite… ideal layout, length and location for a casual golfer like me ….BUT it is absolutely horribly maintained now… The once beautiful log structures that housed beer/concession/washrooms are no longer functional and are rotting and falling down. The greens might as well be called “browns” now and are rock hard when trying to find a place for a tee. The putting green for many holes are covered in ant hills… the owners get mad if you use a credit card instead of debit and give you a lecture. It’s clear they are just holding the land to sell to a developer with no interest in maintaining the course. Will never go back ????. Someone please buy this and turn it back into something special.

Connor Maxwell

Only put one star because it won't got below that. Can't tell the difference between the greens and the fairways, poorly maintained and no beer cart. Confusing corse layout, no signs to tell you where to go. Would not golf there again.

Rough course, manager prejudice. Played last month and after game talking to two gentlemen of ethnic background...manager came out being ignorant to them, threatening to throw them off the course for no reason...totally rude...Will never golf here again.

Conor Ledger

"A" knows what hes talking about ^. Great people and great friends all around. Reminds me of a municipal version of Hazeltine. Tall pines and red oaks line the fairway. Pure quality track.

For the price, this is a nice place to play. Nothing fancy, but fun. It's a challenging course that forces you to make good shots on almost every hole. When you get out onto a course with wider fairways you realize how much Camisle forced you to be a little more precise. Keep expectations low here and you'll have fun. Would I play here if I was really good at golf and cared about all the small things? Probably not. However, I do like it.

camamisle is the leagues. great layout by a world class designer in that of glen camamisle. better have your punch 2 iron stinger on fleek. gotta haave ya!

Very poor condition

Honest review here. I've played here on and off for the last 5 years. Its not going to be comparable to other courses in the area. That being said, the new grounds crew this year have turned it into a playable course again. Greens certainly aren't pristine, but fairways and boxes are now properly cut to length. Its a great place for a stress free round or to bring out newer golfers. If you haven't been in the last 2 years, I would give it another chance, I have definitely been impressed with the progress this year.

I’ll be honest, it’s not in the best shape, but the people are nice and the price is right. They don’t force you to pair up with other groups if you come as a twosome. This is particularly good for new players, who don’t need the extra pressure of having to play with strangers. If you’re looking for a fun, quick 9 holes on a budget, Camisle will do the trick. Warning: greens are a little rough.
