August 22, 2020 played 18 holes. We were a first time customer.
Excellent course. Now one of our favorite Ontario courses.
Rolling Greens is superior to the Smiths Falls course:
* More interesting overall - this course is a blend of a highly rural physical area combined with a resort course with homes on the periphery - it simply is engaging all the time
* More interesting physical course - far more terrain, more water features, far more challenging fairways and greens with more slope and interesting pin placement. The wonderful trees and the many greenery features add drama and elegance to the course
* Green maintenance. Have to say with one exception - the greens were super well maintained and very fast - superior to Smiths Falls
* Wild life - Seriously great. Saw 5 rabbits, 1 snapping turtle, 1 water snake, lost count of the many turtles and frogs - the animal life simply added to the greatness of the course and reinforced its natural beauty. Smiths Falls course does not come close
* Cynthia the great beverage cart extraordinaire - Well, highly knowledgeable about the course, which is rare. Friendly, articulate and a beer fan! Cynthia, have that can of wine ready for my next visit.
Improvements Recommended:
* Cynthia advised that in 2020 the routing of the holes was changed. This has caused issues for sure. At 10, a group of 3 simply drove in front of us and inserted themselves in the sequence. Wrong. There should be a marshal our for all of 2020 so customers are trained in the new sequence. Also a big sign at 1 stating the change and to follow the new hole numbering!
* No out houses on the course - Please add 2. Really necessary folks.
Otherwise, we will be returning to Rolling Greens Golf Course, really enjoyed the experience.
