Great value for golf, not costing you near what other clubs cost. Of course it's not as nice either, but it's a good golfing experiance on a "easier" course. Does get boring if you play it more than 5-10 times in a season depending on how much you play elsewhere inbetween. Not very good pro shop or food so bring everything g you need. Nice people every time I've been there (maybe 6 times).

The Champlain is a nice course in town. A couple of nice holes such as the 4th - par 3 over a small lake. They often have Groupon deals.

really great spot to play, very nice hole designes. one major problem is super slow pace of play. expect 5 hours at least. this is way too long, a walking round should be played in under 4 hours max.

The course was beautifully maintained and centrally located for easy access. We came across a few greens that were in bad condition, with a lot of divots from ball drops or heavy gouges in the green. Overall I would recommend the course for anybody looking to play without many bordering holes

i would give more stars because the course deserves more but they over booked and the pace of play was way too slow and when you want to play golf you expect to play at a good pace, not waiting in between every shot and every hole. please fix this so we can come back and enjoy the course as it should be

It was a nice day at Champlain golf course despite it being really wet on the fairways. I think it would be good for them to fill in the pot holes to ovoid water gathering on the fairways. My shoes were soaked by the end of the first hole. It had rained quite a lot the day before. All in all though it was a nice day.

Another option if you live downtown. I like this course a lot. There are some tough holes and the greens are always in good shape. This is an old-school golf course nothing too weird. There is a very long par 5 (~600 yards) and a long par 3 (~200 yards). Water comes into play in a couple of places but other than that if you keep it in the fairway, you'll have a good round. Play can be very slow, so try to get in a round first thing or at the end of the day. The course does not return to the clubhouse halfway. There is a hotdog stand at the 10th hole.

Booked a tee-off time of 2:20 and didn't get to start until 2:45. Very slow pace of play based on how many parties they crammed together resulting in only 12 holes played before sundown. Beer cart never came by in over 3 hours of play on a Saturday afternoon. Every single green was impossible to putt on accurately because every square inch was pock-marked with aeration holes. Advice: Spend a little more on a legit course, this place was more frustrating than fun.

We made some mistakes since it was our first time, but nothing justifies the way we were treated. The lady in blue literally told us "get it right, golf is serious and it's not for fun" as we tried to put our ball back in the middle of the field. Claude was respectful, but the experience remains toxic. Do not recommend. (Original) Mauvaise expérience. Nous n'avons pas été traité comme de vrais joueurs, malgré le fait que nous avons tenté d'être le plus respectueux tout au long de notre parcours. Nous avons fait quelques erreurs puisque c'était notre première fois, mais rien ne justifie la façon dont nous avons été traité. La dame en bleu nous a littéralement dit "décalissez, le golf c'est sérieux et c'est pas fait pour avoir du fun" pendant que nous essayions de remettre notre balle au milieu du terrain. Claude a été respectueux, mais l'expérience reste toxique. Ne recommande pas.

Went on a weekday morning and really enjoyed this course. Great layout, and beautiful holes. Condition wasn't the greatest (some damaged greens and fairways without grass) but I would certainly come again -- especially for the price of only $30 for 18 holes.

Avoid. Prices might be good but still not worth it. Just played 18 when they decided they were going to water 12 of the 18 holes while we were playing. Feet soaking wet, played in the mud sand traps, etc etc. Watering I guess more important than actually having golfers. Thought they would compensate. Told tough luck played 18 no compensation deserving. Our foursome likely not going back. Play a more professional course if you can.

Went to play 18 on a hot afternoon. Check in was ok. Carts are in rough shape - no rain top for bags, no windscreen, mine needed a wheel alignment. Course was not in good shape - dry, rutted fairways, rough was really rough - first cut would hide your ball, if it wasn't dead. Got forced off the course before teeing off on 8 due to thunder, unloaded the cart, returned it and went for the rain cheque, only to be told we could go back out. We declined and went for the rain cheque, and were only given 9 holes. Not likely to go back.

The golf was ok...there was no 9 hole rate and the 9th green is more than 1km from the clubhouse. Though there were many people on the course, it moved well. The on course Marshall, however, was particularly rude to my wife for no reason...we were quite disappointed with these and will likely not be going back any time soon.

Played a round with my foursome on Thursday Oct 28 and due to rain on the previous Monday and Tuesday the course was like playing in a swamp. I feel the management should have closed for a few days to allow the course to drain. Many balls were lost on the fairway due to large poodles and the many leaves that had not been blown off the course as other courses do during the fall season. Sand traps were mud and getting around on the course was challenging to say the least. Had I not been in a rush to leave after the round I would have demanded a refund. Will no longer consider Champlain in my repertoire of courses to play. I rank this course an 'F'.

My buddy and I wanted to go out and bring our girls with us they just wanted to come and drive the carts to enjoy the day with us, we were gonna pay for 2 full carts but they declined us saying they "Don't do that"... Even a few months ago I brought my girl to the same course to enjoy a day of Golf she only drove the cart

Good price, just stay in the fairway and don’t land too far from the pin. A couple of holes definitely needed some work on the greens, but overall, you can’t go wrong for the price.
