This Golf is classified in the category of Country club.
Pretty phenomenal shape considering what time of year it is and the rain we've gotten. If only that helped my score :P
High volume course that was in good shape. Very playable as a solid medium difficulty course.
Decent course for the cost of play
Weak wifi. I was djing last weekend, other than that everything was awesome.
Course is in good shape. Very friendly staff and a lovely patio under the trees.
Booked a tee time through golf now with cart. After playing 3 holes with the cart, marshall came to tell me that I have to return the cart, apparently I got the pull cart. Later on, when I showed them my booking. Now They tell me a new story that they are not allowed to give any carts away after 7 pm or something cause the cleaner needs to leave. My question is why do they even have a booking then around that time with that option. Worst experience ever, I didnt even play rest of my game. Great way of treating golfers.
Challenging course with some narrow fairways. Played from the blues and enjoyed the challenge. Tee boxes were pretty rough shape. Greens were very fast and you want to make sure you leave yourself an uphill putt. I think it is priced a bit high for what it is and considering its the end of the season.
The course is pretty good and not too expensive compared to other courses. The greens are very fast so dont expect to have a good putting game.
Great Course! Narrow but in great shape.
Cafe is a little gem. Low prices. Good quality
Went for diner. Ribs are ok.
Very nice course! This time of year the colours are amazing! ????
Our corporate Christmas party is held here just about every year. Super staff, excellent food. All around good venue.
Restaurant is best part of this course. Course itself is a hazard.
Great part of environments and nice place .
Service was ok though sporadic. That could potentially be blamed on the fact that it was a trivia event and they probably didn't want to disturb during the rounds.
A great target course in great shape come and enjoy!
Beautiful golf course amongst some of Ottawas largest homes. A great club house that our family has had breakfast many times. I recommend it as a great coarse with a great club house!
Great course. Very challenging layout with fast greens. Well worth the time and money. Very reasonably priced and the staff were awesome. Will definitely be back!!!
Great place,excellent food and services
Place needs an update but a classy place overall.
It is an amazing course!!! Love Cedarhill ????
The facilities here are amazing! Excellent food as well!
I've really enjoyed playing Cedar Hill this year. I've played it 6 times this year. The course is really well maintained. Greens are always in great shape and you can always find your golf ball. I often get paired up with members and find them very friendly. Only downside is that the par 4, 8th hole is adversely affected by a new home construction, transforming it into a par 3.
Great course to play on that is maintained very well.
Great staff and an excellent (but not TOO challenging) of a course
Horrible service. Golf course was backed up and we needed to wait for one of our players to take a shot. The Marshall decided to kick us off the course for being "too slow". We were literally 5-10 mins behind schedule. I golf all around the city of Ottawa and I have been golfing for years. Never in my life have I had a service as horrible as this. Never will I ever recommend anyone to step a foot at this golf course.
Great service and friendly staff. Course is in pretty good condition. Greens a bit slow.
Beautiful place
Great course and in great shape. Too bad about the weather but the course held up pretty well.
The Company I work for had it's Christmas Function there. All the Staff were Excellent from Chef to the Bartending Staff.I would recommend you have your Next function there.
Course is in great shape.
Not a very good covid response: the tee off times are too close together. Feels like they try and jam everyone in which is unfortunate. Good golf course in town. Greens are well kept. Shorter than most. Picturesque. Challenging (but not punishing). A fun course.
It was a nice and quiet place. The restaurant staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast was great. The toast was buttered well. The bacon was crispy. The sunny side eggs were done just right. The menu selection seems to be good even though smaller. There seems to be some mothers day celebration this Sunday . The view from the restaurant was spectacular. I hope to go there again soon.
The fairways and greens were in great shape.
One of my favourites, especially in the fall. Pace of play needs some attention.
Was there for breakfast. Food was good and the service was friendly.
Very nice breakfast, great service.
Nice place
Went for Father's Day brunch. The buffet was excellent.
Great service. Great atmosphere. Good food.
Good course. Not the best in town, but you get more than what you pay for here. It isn't long, but it is tight and challenging to play.
Had a very nice steak sandwich for lunch. My wife had the grilled chicken club house. Great food, service was a little slow but we had a large group.
Played the back nine holes on a Sunday morning. As a first timer, I had no idea about alot of things. I did not appreciate being embarrassed in the middle of the pro shop asking questions with one staff member and having another staff member embarrass me for my attire. It was uncalled for, especially when I asked questions and was trying to learn. Other than that, after buying attire, the course was fairly well maintained, although maintenance was being performed while we were playing. I would play here again, but I'll be trying out another course first.
Nice place for normal golf. Friendly members, inexpensive foursomes, good holes
Nice course; good condition & layout. Better than average food in dining room. Friendly pro-shop staff.
Amazing course and good food!
Beautiful course. Well maintained. Tough greens.
Great golf course that is well maintained and open. The wildlife is an added bonus! The facilities are a little older, but otherwise the atmosphere is great!
Excellent wine pairing dinner this evening!
home of the bob chiarelli classic what more do you need to know
Course is in great shape, good course for all skill levels
One of my favourite golf courses in Ottawa. Always pleasant staff and great greens!
Cedarhill GC is in great shape
Good little golf club, public, and is a nice enough walk through a lovely little community. Inside the club house is fairly nice, and is a good venue to book and event or host something. The first hole is really nice, elevated and plays well.
We, as a small group, enjoy our Sunday morning breakfast meeting with an amazing view from the club house dining room. The venue, the staff and the ambience are all excellent.
It's a bit pricey for the condition of the course, but the layout is fun, good mix of short and long holes.
Great time golfing today. And lunch afterwards was great too.
This is a good golf club, greens are superb, the staff is friendly and amazingly they do not gouge for a bottle of water,I was pleasantly surprised that they sell water at such low price. Koodos to Cedarhill!!!!
Went here for a wedding, was very lovely
Great Duffer course.
Great family time have brunch ;)
Nice course in the heart of the city. Well maintained, friendly staff. Would recommend.
This is a beautiful and deceptively challenging course. Great grounds, well kept greens and a fantastic restaurant.
Great course, friendly staff.
Good challenge for all skill levels.
Good course. A bit dry in spots, but greens are in great shape
Great greens, can't wait for summer.
We came to cedarhill golf course to play a round. 2 of us were well experienced golfers and one was a beginner. In the third hole we got kicked off the course since we have one beginner with us. I have played golf all my life and I understand that sometimes there is wait. I have never complained or seen somebody get kicked off the course for it. Especially since the group behind was barely waiting. I booked through golf now as a last minute deal since it was cheap. I guess the course and the customer service is a reflection of that. The Marshall was rude and very impatient. I will never return. Just to rate the course: There are white patches everywhere, grass is very not well maintained and the tee boxes are patchy and uneven. I would never truly comment on a business. But this is the worst golf experience I have ever had.
We very much enjoyed the golf at Cedarhill very well maintained course
This is an old course. Narrow fairways, small greens. Many boring holes. The conditions are decent but overall I'd pass for a round of golf.
A really comfortable club house. The course is challenging for the average golfer and less that good golfers like me.
Nice place to have brunch and a drink. Within a posh neighbourhood. Great golfing range. $$$
Fun, well kept, challenging course. Game was off that day. I think I hit a tree on every hole.
Great value early in the season. Watch the signage or you may play wrong hole. They cross over tee boxes in the middle Marshall started us on number one. Pace was excellent. Some greens were still covered
Played evening 9 holes on a busy Friday. The starters were two retired guys, both funny and helpful. Got backed up behind two groups which made it very slow going but nobody's fault. Challenging course on the first few holes. First hole requires a straight drive or else you are in the woods on the right. Fairways were in excellent condition even with the lack of rain over recent weeks. Some of the tee boxes were in poor shape and could use some work. Overall very solid course to play with rolling hills and well-kept greens.
Pricey for the poorly maintained fareways. Green are good however.
There for breakfast. Best part: service, scenery, ambiance (view, quiet = allow for chatting). Reasonably priced.
Golfed for the first time in 2021. Course is in really good shape considering it is only April 6th!
Decent food, clean and friendly
Good track
My husband and I had our wedding at Cedarhill. It was an amazing experience. Matt Willman was so helpful for all of our needs and made the experience very simple and easy. We were complimented so much on how all of the food of our buffet was so delicious. The scenery is so beautiful that the pictures turned out really nice even though it was a cloudy/rainy day. I would definitely recommend this location!
Went golfing here as part of company event. I'm a beginner golfer and the courses here weren't overly challenging so I liked it. There were lots of Canada geese at the time which caused a bit of a mess in certain areas.
Nice local course. Not as long as other courses further out of town but well cared for and reasonably priced for a public course
Attended a wedding. Food was great, staff were awesome, very friendly and helpful.
This is a challenging course that is almost always in great shape. Fun!
Course in good shape on this lovely fall day!
Nice course. Well maintained. Interesting and varied holes
Great course for the value
Hi, Unfortunately I am compelled to leave this review after an unfortunate incident that took place on July 24th 202. For the past three summers, myself along with a regular group of golfers have enjoyed playing at Cedar Hill G&C. We had an unfortunate altercation with the Head Pro who was extremely rude and unprofessional to myself and a fellow golfer. I emailed Cedar Hill G&C about the incident hoping to rectify the incident and unfortunately got no response from management at Cedar Hill G&C. The email attached was sent on July 24, 2020. Our regular foursome has not golfed at the course since the incident below. Just posting for awareness. Regards, Marufur Rahman
Fantastic place with amazing staff and great food
We had my wife's work Christmas party here tonight... Burdened by multiple food allergies, we were given a choice menu 2 weeks prior in order to prepare in advance...after verifying and chosing the 1 option meal choice that was safe they then decided this evening they were changing the menu last minute they left her with no safe optiin to chose from. They had been made aware weeks in advance there was allergy issues. She was given a plate with 1 cold chicken breast served with a blan sauce... Not impressive to say the least
Very challenging greens.
Poorly maintained tee boxes, cart paths. Lots of debris lying about. Noisy gas carts with torn seats. A house almost in the middle of the 8th hole. Club needs to spend serious money on the course.
Best breakfast, amazing server & course in really great shape. Enjoyed the day immensely ????!
Nice course, could use some watering. The rough was kinda rough.
Good little coarse
Ok golf. Close to the city.
I have been to cedar hill many times over the past few years. Though the course is pretty nice, and the greens are well maintained, the pricing and the staff have gotten to the point where I will never return. I have always found the starting official to be very obnoxious to anyone who isn't a regular member. I have tried over and over to give him the benefit of the doubt and strike a warming conversation and I get nothing but attitude back. The Marshall seems to always been lurking around, and being a mid 20 year old golfer (even with a low handicap), I notice him watching me quite often. Though he never really does his job of keeping the rate of play at a reasonable pace. I play alone with a power cart often and have to usually argue with groups of walkers as to why I should be passing them when I see them at every tee box; last time I checked that was what the Marshall's job is. Then came the icing on the cake that sealed the deal of me never returning. Just the other evening, I returned for my third round of that week (2 18's on the weekend, and was hoping for a 9 that evening). It was 6:15pm and sun was scheduled to set at 7:55pm. Being a solo player with a cart I knew I would have no trouble finishing before dawn, but Greg White (the course pro) seemed to have a different idea. Upon walking up to the pro shop, I see him casting a disgusted look my way. I immediately asked if I was too late to play, and was greeted with the reply of "You're looking to start a round this late?! You can't be out till midnight you know!" This comment was quite rude, as I stated clearly to him I'm playing solo with a power cart and should be no time at all. Then he proceeded to tell me he has to keep the cart guy there now because of me, and stated it was basically all my fault that the guy couldn't go home. I stated I would just take my 50$ else where then, and figured my fees alone should be enough to easily cover his salary for the extra hour and a half. After arguing over it actually being 50$ I was spending (Greg seemed to forget though the green fee is 25$ I was also paying 20$+ for a power cart) I was so aggravated that there was no way I could play a decent round. The real kicker is I was shopping around for a membership at a few courses in South Ottawa, and cedar hill was a leader in getting my business. I have since ended up going with Stone Bridge and reccomend anyone reading this review to consider taking your business else where. I ask anyone of reasonable mind, why you would give a place hundred of dollars in business to receive such poor service. Any serious golfer should consider StoneBridge or falcon ridge to recieve the proper respect and service you deserve as a paying customer.
Course is nicely laid out and price is good. But some of the greens and especially the tee boxes are in really rough shape. (I don't fancy teeing off in dirt.) Would be happy to pay a little more if this would help them keep up with the maintenance.
73 bucks for punched greens and a 2:40 tee off. Tee boxes are in terrible shape. Yikes. Green on #9 is horrendous. Not a great experience.
Hi - I am unfortunately leaving this review after multiple non responses from Management at Cedar Hill G&C regarding an unpleasant and disrespectful interaction with the head pro at the course. The email attached was sent on July 24, 2020. Our regular foursome has not golfed at the course since the incident below. Just posting for awareness. Thanks
Course was in great shape. All of the Staff were super friendly. Food at the clubhouse was fast and tasted amazing
Course was okay! Tee boxes were terrible, not leveled and patchy. Fairways were hard and dry a lot of roll and most were green. The green's were in good shape. Alot of par 4's not very many 3's and 5's. Back 9 was better than the front. Pace of play was extremely slow and no one was monitoring it. The price for power carts was outrageously over priced. $40 for a power cart. It was almost the same price as the $45 green fees. I've played a lot of different courses and $75 for golf and cart here is not worth it at all. Patio was nice and service from the lady on the patio was excellent. Proshop girls were not very inviting. Overall I would recommend with caution, there is way better courses in Ottawa/Gatineau area for that price.
DO NOT book any event there. We booked our outdoor wedding there and they set up a tent there that fit about 20 people. We asked them that we needed a tent that fit around 50 people. We kept calling and still no response. It's 2 and a half weeks before our wedding and still no response. Matt Willman is VERY hard to get a hold of and he doesn't return calls or emails. Very terrible service and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone having an event. One of the worse experiences I have had with a venue. What a nightmare. PLEASE STAY AWAY.
i've played this course 4 times this year, course is good but Marshals are very pushy, the 4th time we played there was no one behind us and no one in front of us, finished a foursome in 4 hours and the Marshal bothered us 3 times in one game. I explained this to the person in the office and he said he would have someone call to apologize and compensate, but no one called. I have heard other people who have played this course say the same things about their Marshals. Disappointed in the no call back .
Very nice course
Great staff, great course,
Good golf course for the cost. Semi-private course, members aren’t the most hospitable. Course is very tight on the front, could also be better maintained. That being said, for an early round or a round by yourself it’s perfectly fine. Decent length, challenging enough.
Greens and fairways excellent condition. Friendly staff .tough course.
Great course. Very tight, and not that long. Accurate shots are needed to score well here. Greens are fast and in great shape this year. Some bad pin placements sometimes, but overall very nice. Keep the driver in the bag most of the time, and you should be ok to post a decent score. Great staff, they keep the rounds mostly to 4 hours 15 minutes. Good food, drink and friendly staff. Overall, great outing. Cheers, Jay
Very nice.
Good course great food!
Tough course but playable
I just started golfing and this course had no issues in terms of the quality of the course. Staff was very friendly and helpful. All the other players were just as friendly and kind to me as a rookie. I'm not sure if this is a hard course or not lol. Most holes are par 3 to 4.
Conveniently located close to town on Cedarview road. Only real negative (for me) is that some of the houses are a bit close for my liking as my game has a bit of 'spray' to it ;-) Generally no problem to get a tee time...
Friends clubs were stolen from outside clubhouse. No action taken by course and won't return calls. Very untrustworthy
Good layout
Greens are good . Need to cut tee boxes.
Went golfing at Cedarhill the evening of June 25th. Played a great 9 holes and decided to grab a beer with my buddy afterwards. While out on the patio had three clubs and two head covers stolen from my bag. Figured this out after someone had actually taken my whole bag and then returned it to the club after I had left. When I followed up with the club to ask what they were going to do with regards to the stolen clubs I received no answer. Super disappointed with the service I received and will not be golfing at Cedarhill in the future.
Our go to place for breakfast. Membership not required.
Terrible greens, patchiy fairawys, over all a lousy maintained golf course, . For what you pay......dont...I wouldnt golf there again if it was $20 a round.. Lots of four star rating.....for meal etc....guess its a nice place to eat..just not golf unless you are not a golfer
Great course! A little narrow, but attention to deal & course conditions make it well worth it. Green fees are also reasonable
Was fantastic, staff was pleasant and serving
Get your beer cart girl change. She never had change so was forced to tip almost 5 bucks a beer every time. Dont mind tipping but c’mon don’t force a tip .
