Absolutely gorgeous golf course! I am a beginner and took the level 1 "new to golf program" with Dan Naismith and had a total blast. Dan is a real fun guy that knows his stuff. It amazed me how a little bit of proper instruction can go a long way. The program is very well priced and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get introduced to the game of golf. I will definitely be back for levels 2 and 3.

For the same price, you can have a sumptuous breakfast - big helpings - with an amazing view that can't be had in ANY family restaurants or even among country clubs for that matter. This is the place to go for breakfast and lunch.

Played in a golf tournament recently and must say that I have never seen the golf course in better shape. Wonderful experience and I had to stop the group a couple of times on the fairway and say 'have a look at this hole...it's spectacular'. Congrats to Chris Hoy and Dave Fair for having the course dialed in. Food and beverage afterwards was great and to top off the day, I had a nice visit with Lisa Marshall in marketing. 5 star day and looking forward to getting out to Northview over the summer.

Interest. We were two couples for lunch. We had 2 burgers and 2 Reuben sandwiches. All was good, but the Ruebens had no swiss cheese? The view is nice the service was good. But, when we asked about the missing ingredient they really didn't appear to have an idea about handling it. Didn't hurt anything, just not as advertised, so had to drop 1 star.

Update summer 2021: Northview is in amazing shape this year, like many other years. Friendly staff, range boxes had plenty of real grass to hit off, greens were hard and a great challenge, and the rough was thick and what you should expect when you leave the fairway. Greens were fast, staff was friendly as always. Was able to hit a couple of buckets before my round.

We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary at a restaurant in the Northview Golf and Country club. The atmosphere was very relaxing and COVID-19 safe. I had Gnocchi (hand made with a porcini mushroom sauce and warmed olives and marinated feta as a starter. My better half had Linguine with Tiger Prawns in a pesto sauce. We both had Creme Brûlée for dessert. The food was consistently great, a real treat. The service went a long way to make our meal even more enjoyable. And to top the experience off, the prices were very reasonable. Thanks to all involved.

Visited last night and sat on the patio. We loved the view, it was so incredibly beautiful. The food was delicious, however I ordered the pesto prawn pasta with no protein (I was told it would be discounted) but when it came to the bill, we were charged full price. The patio service was slightly slow--we often had empty beer glasses that we wish were replenished sooner. I let the server know about the full charge on the bill and she did try to rectify the situation, but we were not interested in the $5 dollar difference, it was about getting it right the first time. The place was not busy in the slightest, so I don't really understand how that was missed.. I would give it 4/5 stars if management was on top of things.

I don't golf a lot so I'm not the best person to evaluate a golf course. I was there for an industry event. The event was good and the facilities were nice. The clubhouse is starting to look a little dated so for a wedding you might want to make sure it suits your taste. The food was decent and the service staff were nice. The golf course itself was good. A few challenging holes where we lost some balls, but otherwise good enough for casual players. Since it was an event, I didn't pay anything so you might want to check pricing in advance.

This has been one of my favourite courses to play in Vancouver over the past 30 years, but their new cancellation policy is straight up ridiculous. I understand that Covid has changed the landscape, golf is a high demand activity and a number of courses are not booking singles or twosomes until day of. But I just cancelled a booking I had for 2 days from now because the forecast is now for a high chance of rain. I cancelled due to the fact that Northview gets to decide whether the rain is of a level that they would deem unsafe. So it wouldn't matter if it's raining cats dogs, unless there was lighting and or huge areas of pooling water they deem it playable. If I didn't cancel today and woke up Tuesday morning to heavy rain I would be charged for 4 green fees (almost $400) if I tried to cancel or even if any less than 4 players played. So even if I sucked it up to play in the pouring rain, if any of the players in my group tried to cancel, because they didn't want to play in the pouring rain, I would still be charged for their green fees. This is straight up gouging and taking advantage of customers due to the health pandemic. Golf never seems to figure it out. Forcing customers to play in pouring rain is wrong and bad customer service.

Northview Golf & Country Club is home to two excellent championship golf courses including the much admired Ridge course, for many years host to the PGA Tour's Air Canada Championship. The Ridge is kept company by the flatter but no less demanding Canal course. Both layouts were designed by Arnold Palmer.

Not played golf here, however! these grounds have hosted the Air Canada Championships and were designed by Arnold Palmer. What I can rave about...is their Duffy's Sports Grill and The Palmer Room. Fabulous food, good prices, and their staff, are experienced...no forgetting items, ready to assist if you require something a bit different. Great brunches on the weekend or regular menu is worth trying also.

There are two courses at Northview: The Ridge and The Canal. I would recommend The Ridge if your handicap is less than 10 - The Canal is more forgiving on errant shots. Both courses have good drainage (for non-summer play) and excellent greens. On top of this, Northview has excellent training facilities (greens, driving range), club house and restaurant. Because of this, you can expect to pay more, which is the biggest downside to my rating - it's expensive, but not crazy expensive - you're getting what you pay for. But because of premium pricing, you can usually find a tee time a couple of days before and usually walk on as a single. Be sure to check out Mario in the van on 168 Street just north of the Northview entrance to buy used balls. You might need them if you're playing the Ridge.

Didn't golf so strictly reviewing my Christmas party experience here. The room was quite spacious and the buffet dinner was excellent. The place was very nicely decorated inside and out. Only real complaint would be the lack of table service towards the end of dinner. Nobody came around to refill coffee or water so you had to go line up at the bar to get it. A couple of tables on the side with water pitchers and coffee would've been a welcome addition to the party. Other than that it was great

Really the poorest and greediest online booking policy and procedures I have EVER used. Reading though online instructions there are way too many rules and procedures that ONLY benefit the course financially and to cut down on expense to them screw the customer. It was an easy decision to book at nearby Morgan Creek for an extra $15. I won’t golf here again until they fix up booking policies the are hiding be C19. Wait until USA/CAD border reopens and they lose their customers

I'm not a golfer, but have worked on golf events at this course. The location isn't ideal as the only way to get here is by car. The upside is the costs are comparably more affordable to golf courses closer to Vancouver, and it has two courses: the Ridge and Canal, the former being more challenging. I've only ever worked the Ridge course, which is nice (though I can't objectively say) but the last tournament I worked at the course was going through some maintenance, and caretaking was a bit lacking as there were several overly dry (and therefore, dusty) plots of grass while other parts were a bit muddy.

What an amazing place. 2 top notch courses, one of the best driving ranges around, and a really good restaurant. I come here to golf and use the range more than anything and it truly is a great layout. Both courses are difficult but not so difficult that a mid or even high handicapper couldn't play here. It feels like a course that should be member only. In fact i have played Richmond Country Club (which is really nice) but you need to pay thousands a year just to be able to get in the gate. Show up early to use the range, play a round of golf on one of the nicest tracks around, then stay after for a burger and fries and a few brews.

Great location, with excellent views overlooking GC and further vistas. Attentive staff serving up overlooking every need. There were twenty-five in our group celebrating one's milestone birthday. The smorgasbord brunch offered up a variation of well thought out choices. A fine array of fruit, egg dishes, meats, hot and cold plates and some excellent pastries and deserts. I chose an omelette which was made on the spot and was delicious. The coffee carafes were always kept full and hot. All and all a nice morning spent at Northview.

I just Came with friends for Sunday Branch, the price is 28.95 for adults and 14.95 for kids, the food quality is good for the price. However, we had 2 kids in our group, one is 4-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. They both did not eat much. a kind of waste of money. LOL, Plus this is a beautiful place so probably next time I should come by golf courses.

Your rule of not letting drinks on the dance floor leaves guests drinks open to be drugged. That is NOT safe or okay. My sister got roofied last night at a wedding there. Her partner was part of the wedding and sitting at another table and it easily could have been staff or a guest member but if her drink was allowed with her on the dance floor this wouldn’t have happened. I’m disgusted.

One of my favourite treats is my once or twice a year at Northview. Both courses here are challenging and well maintained. I wish I could justify playing here more often but the price is just a bit too high for my budget. But on those ocassions when I am going to blow the budget and visit an expensive course, this is the one. The courses are beautiful, the clubhouse is very nice and the whole experience is very memorable. The restaurant and banquet facilities are superb. My parents celebrated their 50th and their 60th anniversaries there and the service was superb. To this day, it is a place that my parents love to visit on special occasions to enjoy the service and the piano player.

It's a shame I couldn't give the course operations a negative star rating. The Player's assistant (course marshall) took it upon himself to berate our group while we were on the 8th green on the Ridge Course. This hole in itself is the problem, not the golfers who choose to drive the green (short par 4). After arriving onto the 8th Tee Box, our foursome waited for the group ahead to tee off...they in turn waited for the group in front of them to clear the green because they were attempting to reach the green from the tee box. After the immediate group ahead cleared the green, we all hit towards the green. Needless to say, the tee box was backed up 2 groupings now. Then comes this "marshall" storming up on his horse, showing no respect for our group, berating us for being slow...when in fact we were held up for the whole front 9. What a joke, paying the exorbitant prices to play and be treated this way, no more. *Update, Received a call from the Head Pro, he empathized and understood our frustrations and will discuss our concerns with his Player Assistant. Moving forward, our conversation was amicable and a pleasant one at that. Thank you for following up with me.

Played a round at the Canal yesterday. Great conditions, gorgeous day. Course was fairly empty; however, was told by the Player's Assistant on Hole 16 that we should keep up with the group ahead and have fallen behind. The group behind us was 2 holes back. He said "I don't care"- focus on the group ahead of you. I reluctantly held back my comments but not really a fair way to be treated on a high profile course, especially when we are at the conclusion of the round. We finished the round in 4 hrs and 15 mins (recommended is 4hr30min). Perhaps a better a choice of vocabulary was required from the Player's Assistant. Simply unprofessional. Thanks for ruining an otherwise pristine day.

This is a review for Northview as a wedding venue. Just almost a year ago we had our wedding here. We used the garden for the ceremony and had a buffet style dinner in the banquet area for about 150 guests. The garden was a lovely space for the ceremony and the gazebo provided some shade for the bridal party and signing table. We had to rent out our own mikes, speakers, and additional chairs for the ceremony, but to my knowledge therer were no issues between the vendors and the venue staff. It was convenient to just walk across to the baquet area instead of travelling to another location (which we had considered at one point). The food was tasty from what I remember. (I’ve also attended a wedding here earlier on and have enjoyed the food.) I especially rememebered the poached prawns, seafood medley, mushroom ravioli, chocolate covered strawberries, and the entire dessert spread. The ice sculpture was impressive too. I do remember husband preferred the prime rib to be more rare than it was. This is usually the case in buffets I suppose. Overall, our experience was extremely positive. We worked with both Lisa and Lucianna during the planning and they were both professional and knowledgeable. The ceremony rehearsal went smoothly and I found the coordinators to be informative but not overbearing. I have heard horror stories about other people’s experiences with venues and am so thankful that ours was a good memory to look back on. We will be back this week for our one year anniversary!

Not a great experience today. Waiter was pleasant however eggs Benedict arrived to take with long hair. Asked waiter to remove plate. Hair fell on ketchup and I had to ask waiter 3 times to also remove ketchup. A new plate was brought with apology. By this time is lost my appetite and didn't eat much. Never once were we asked how our meal was. Also I had to ask 3 times for my latte and my son's to go desert wad not brought which I had to seek out another waiter at the bar. Upon reflecting, I regret leaving my usual 20% tip. I don't know id I'll return away this point. With my last 2 experiences, eggs Benedict was very good however this one older waitress was noticeably unfriendly and clearly she wanted us to eat and leave quickly, I'm thinking because we arrived 30 mins before brunch ended. Considering the above, I feel there could be a few improvements made.

Not a good place to golf on a sunny Sunday. Spend your money at one of the other cheaper just as nice courses in the Fraser Valley. Payed premium dollar, greens were slow. Not a single trap was raked. Rough was stupid long like lose your ball long. Obviously cutting back on their staff for the fall already, with gorgeous late summer weather in the forecast. And the Marshall was obnoxious, threatened one of our groups. They were out of position for one hole at the turn when the hot dog stand had a lineup. We finished in under 4:40 and kept up to the groups in front. Bad taste overall, next time we'll take our dollars somewhere else.

I have been to Northview for dinner on a few occasions over the past couple of years. It has always been busy and many of the customers are regulars. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. It’s a great course but our last round in October was for a 3some. One guy couldn’t make it. The green fee was already $109 and they were absolutely unwilling to accept anything other than charging me for the full spot. I understand it’s a policy but even the first tee starter agreed it was pretty unreasonable. I would’ve accepted a penalty charge but now I don’t care to bring my business back. 228 dollars total. The course is in very good shape. Price-wise it's quite steep .. I'm guessing it's because of all the non-golf areas they need to maintain. The main reasons for only 3 stars is however not the price. It's due to (a) incredibly slow pace of play - 5 hr round for a 9 am tee time is crazy. How can a course of this standard not have a marshall to move it along? (b) Inconsiderate golfers blasting loud music from their carts - extremely impolite and selfish behavior. And again, there should have been marshalls to correct such behavior.

Lots of water on the Canal course! Lots of sand traps and a few really nice long drives. The quality of the the fair way was out standing, and the putting greens were QUICK! My friends and I understand that there are precautions needed to be taken for this 'virus' and also due to supremely strict provincial health mandates, but charging 10 dollars for a bucket of a dozen range balls is literally price gouging and completely unnecessary/not related to the health and well being of anyone. On top of that, the course must be doing quite well to be able to reject our post round request/offer to do a 'replay' at 320pm on a day that's 100% rain of about 4mm with a completely empty tee sheet (being able to finish while ppl would still be on the back 9). We suggested any monetary amount within reason, offered to pay at the kiosk, or any form, since they would not accept cash (mandated) but we were told, (using the excuse of the 'virus') that this was not possible. I'm summary, today Northview showed a lack of accommodation, and preferred taking an approach of complete capitalization under the guise of a virus, while completely disregarding basic norms of customer service. I would say normally there haven't been many issues here, and even today it was mostly a pleasure, but today was a major turn off and frankly disappointing.

Great course. Played during Feb and the drainage was expectional. An excellent course even during the winter in the Pacific Northwest. Went to a wedding reception and the place the food and the service were wonderful! The buffet had so many choices and the food was hot and delicious! The only complaint is that there is simply not enough parking for a place that has so many people at the whole premises at one time. There were 3 banquet rooms full, a restaurant full and also golfers using the club house and golf course so a lot of people were forced to park on the roadway and then walk quite a ways in the rain dressed up for the wedding.

Northview is without a doubt Surrey's (maybe the lower mainland's) premier golf destination. Immaculately kept with two challenging courses, the ridge and the canal. As this is a public course all the practice facilities for putting and chipping are accessible to the general public for free. The driving range features grass tees as well. With regards to lessons and instruction, Northview offers instruction from certified professionals for youth to adults. The quality of the lessons and staff are top notch. I have taken two levels of Dan Naismith's New to Golf class. As someone who had played before (poorly) and is good at overcomplicating things I appreciate Dan's ability to simplify the basics of the game of golf. If you are new to golf or simply new to golf instruction I would highly recommend you take this class. You will immediately see the value of professional instruction and an improvement in your golf game. If you are a golfer in the lower mainland or just visiting I would put Northview on the list of courses to play or even visit for lunch.

The forecast was calling for pissing rain for 5 days out, and we called several times to cancel. They refused to do so. Are you that desperate for money that you're just cashing in on all the people that didn't golf today in the pissing rain? Nice strategy. It was bad enough playing there over the years and dealing with your constant proshop arrogance and attitude, now we can add "take our money" to the list of disappointing things your over-rated club offers. Can't wait for more courses to open back up, as we won't be returning. BTW, have you forgotten when it rains for 3 hours both your tracks turn into mud pits? Classless logic by your part, scamming out golfers in a time like this. Shame on you and your management team. Stop acting like the PGA still comes to your track, that was decades ago - get over it. We walked in after 9 holes on the Canal course having taken 3 hours for a 2-ball, with a buggy! When explained to the shop staff, Doug, he explained that not only could we not get a refund on 9 holes but Northview would also not give a 9-hole credit for use on another day. Slow play happens, but you don't expect this kind of service at a club that employs two (!) course marshalls.

On hole number 12 it became dangerous as our team members were teeing off and the Marshall just drove he’s cart right in front of them and yelling at them while they were teeing off . Disappointing how the management of this course has gone so downhill. You have to pay for a 4some even if you only have 2. They use COVID as an excuse for this policy but it is not right to charge people for services not rendered - nothing happening there other than gouging loyal guests. My father also injured himself after taking his first tee shot on the first hole - he had to be carted off the course and was off his leg for 2 weeks - they then refused to refund his fees.

I played here for the first time today, on the Ridge course. The condition was top-notch and the layout of the course is stunning. You can really see the thought that was put into basically every hole being very unique. It made for a challenging yet very enjoyable round. I was truly impressed by the customer service, specifically Shaun, the starter. I was teeing off alone, and he went out of his way to give me some tips on how to play various holes. He also caught up with me to provide me with a course map and check in on how my round was going a couple of times. It really shows when someone enjoys what they do, Shaun exuded positivity and he made me feel very welcome. Thank you!

Overated for the price which is a public course. I will say for covid they are doing a great job with distancing. Marshall's making sure play is kept up to speed, and fairways and greens are in good shape. For the price it is just a open field/farm. It's not a resort destination. Maybe I am wrong but way better value from other courses in the lower mainland/BC.

Terrible Business Practice - You have to reserve for a foursome with a credit card, and if you don't cancel within 24 hours, you have to pay for all 4 players. I get that. But last Sunday, terrible conditions, rain and wind, and 3 of my group went out to play but one did not want to play in the rain. So they still charge me for 4! "Thats our policy" regardless of the weather? I think they could make an exception. So what they do is give you a "# play for the price of 4" coupon for the next round. However, the card expires in a month, and you read the fine print, its only valid Monday through Thursday when the rates are less than what we paid! I think with how busy they are, they could be a bit more flexible when the weather is so bad. Won't be back there anytime soon, I'll wait for Point Roberts" Bald Eagle to Open

Excellent facility. Wonderfully designed golf courses, very engaging for casual and advanced players. Most staff are very friendly and accommodating; however if you are UNLUCKY enough to be served in the proshop by the grumpy old CONDESCENDING DAVE, you may be a little turned off by the place. All of my playing buddies have complained about his attitude and RUDENESS. If you get any of the other friendly staff members, guaranteed you'll enjoy your round

Golfed Canal at Northview this past weekend. The pros: the course is well maintained, greens were well kept, fairways are forgiving, and the staff was COVID prepared. The cons: the Marshal - He approached our group twice during the round to tell us we were behind. Both times one of our golfers was mid swing. Both times the Marshal was rude and aggressive. Not once was there a group waiting at the tee box prior to us moving on to the next hole. In fact, we waited on the 18th to confirm with group behind us if we held them up. The answer, and I quote, "we didn't even see you guys, the Marshal said we were holding up everyone behind us." - Besides the Marshal incident, we had a great day on the course. The landscape was beautiful, the course challenging, and at the end of the day - the beer was cold.

The selection was great, really enjoyed the omelette station. Everything was just on point and would come back in a heartbeat!

Just a forewarning - they will not let you cancel due to a poor forecast, even the day ahead. Thought I was being courteous considering it has been raining all month in June, with a suspect forecast for the following day. Will stick to their guns and charge you regardless of calling ahead or not.

The course is always nice but the new booking system sucks. You can book for 2 or 4 people but if you only have 3 they charge for the forth. We booked a hour and a half before the tee time and there were lots of times available, so the spot would have been empty. Due to covid19 they do not take reservations over the phone? Your not going to transmit the virus through the phone. At $100 a round and having to pay an extra 100 for only having 3 made it a very disappointing experience. Wont be back for a while

Came for Mother's Day brunch. Selection is good however food quality is far from pleasant. Smoked salmon is super salty, so is the crab legs. What a shame. The egg benedict was soggy having been sitting in the food warmer for a while. Redeeming the negative experience, our server was pleasant, attentive and friendly. My first time having lunch here and unlikely will return for lunch. However I have had numerous dinners here at the Palmer Room and have always enjoyed their dinner.

It is a shame that 1 of the nicest courses in the lower mainland is now run by a bunch of crooks.. I had a 12 o'clock tee time yesterday and as I arrived at the course it started to rain.. I was very excited to show my dad the ridge "Home of the Air Canada Open" as he is visiting from Ontario and a huge Mike Weir fan . We made the decision that it was too much rain for it to be enjoyable and decided to call the pro shop. When I told them that we were not interested in golfing in the rain I received a "too bad so sad" reply and was told that my credit card would be charged in full for both rounds. I understand that covid has changed the the demand and the fire booking systems/ policies and that cancelation policies are required... but never in my life have I experienced a full penalty for canceling due to inclement weather... this is theft. All I was offered was a 4 for 3 coupon that must be used within the next month. I will not be bringing 3 of my friends to your location to be subjected to your thievery. I will not be returning at all, nor will I recommend your business to anyone. Your policies are unaccommodating your staff are rude and there are many other beautiful golf courses to choose from that are not going to steal.

So if you are not a scratch golfer do not play here the ruff is about 2 1/2 inches long for the average amateur this is not a place you want to play it's no fun.....Green fees are over the top for this time of year and after 2:30pm it's still 75.00 and it's not worth it so save your money and try a more friendly golf course....this is a real shame it could be so nice to play if they just cut down the ruff a little you can't even find your balls it's so deep.

The 2 golf courses are amazing The ridge being my favourite however I’ve noticed it seems year after year green fees are raised Twilight rates are extremely high still for a round at 3-4 pm . Anytime I considered playing this summer I always saw the online booking wide open and it shows why . 60-69 dollars for twilight in the summer is way too much . The course would rather stay empty then have players spending money on food and drinks . I remember when you could get on for 39 for the canal and 49 for the ridge after 4-5 pm in the summer and still be Able to finish. Can always hope for next season

Wow this place was gorgeous and so well maintained. As a golfer from Ontario and have golfed all over North America I was very impressed. Tough course design which I liked and challenged my think on shot and clung choices. The views were incredible and the club house was top notch. This place is a hidden gem, the view is just amazing. Looking out at the beautiful golf course while eating is just so peaceful. The steak was so delicious and done just how I asked. Service is 5 star, so good I had to leave 20% tip. Prices of the food are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

Great couse...but the cart fees are excessive, $30 per person per cart, total of $60 per cart. No GPS and only 2 small bottles of water. The staff does not help to unload the cart. In my opinion, with green fees of $120 + 60 = $180 and concierge service.

Had a rough round there April 18. As the course was recently aerated the area around every green was roped off as ground under repair. Pace of play was also dreadful, over 5 hours. After 4:45 we gave up after 16 and called it a painful day. If the greens are all protected by ground under repair you shouldn’t be charging full price. Marshall’s had little sympathy and just remarked they had never seen it that bad. If that’s the case they probably missed something throughout the day that ruined everyone’s round.

I've read some other reviews and I can totally sympathize with price gouging, if a power cart is $30 each person that is brutal. That being said, I played the canal course Wednesday morning at 7:25am and felt the green fee was fair based on the course conditions. I really appreciated that pull carts were complimentary. I like to walk and this is a flat course but I won't carry my bag. It really bugs me when there is an extra charge for a pull cart so well done Northview. This all put me in a great head space helping me shoot my best round in years!

good golf course, but hands down the most poorly managed golf facility i have encountered. I advise any reading this to be very careful dealing with Northview. Not only will the pro shop staff mistreat you but i suspect they will sell your data to 3rd parties. Its a real shame considering its otherwise a very nice course. Also they are actively trying to profit from the COVID-19 Pandemic, BEWARE OF THIS PLACE, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

It was a really great experience and I can see why people would want to join. When you get there they provide free food and beverages at certain times. They had a little welcome desk where you could grab golf club hats and tee shirts. Nearby there was also a putting green and a couple of other holes to play if the weather is bad or we didn't want to wait for people who were in front of us.

Really disappointed to see Northview raising their driving range prices once again. Now $15 to hit a bucket of balls. It's just gross. Talk about doing the exact opposite of trying to bring a more affordable game to the next generation. You were making enough money when the price was $10. And then last year a bump to $12. Now, an additional 3 bucks?!? This type of greed makes me hate this place.

Terrible service! My family had their Sunday brunch and even though it was not as busy, the servers were not very effecient. We had to get our own jug of water and it took forever to clear the table. I asked for a cup of coffee and didn't give me a teaspoon. If we walked away without paying, they wouldn't have noticed. They completely ignored our table.
