This Golf is classified in the category of Public golf course.
If you want to work on your short game, this is a course for you, there is a couple holes where you can pull out your driver, but mostly par 3's. Not to challenging, but overall a nice little course to sharpen up your game
Driving Range: 10/10 It is a 24/7 driving range that you can get buckets of balls using your credit card, there is not one like this anywhere near by this course. Great chipping …
Golfed here a few times - fairly open so good for beginners too.
Front desk manager was terrible. Service attendant at food counter was much better and polite. Don't waste your money on a group deal because it is clear he was not happy to see us arrive on time and with a discount group rate. Much better courses available that aren't brown.
Sure could use some work.
Enjoyed the course and had the hamburger. Really good fries too. Olivia was a wonderful server.
Horrendous conditions on the course. Putting nearly required a sledgehammer to get close on a 20 footer. Rough was nearly a foot high, tees and fairways not a lot better. Won't be back.
It was a fin time. Course in good shape
Great short course..they keep it in great condition
Greens very good. Short course. Challenging.
VERY EXPENSIVE FOR THE QUALITY. i am a junior and the fee was 37 dollars. keep in mind this course is a par 3 course, it only has 6 par 4s including the "4/5 par" hole. the teeboxes are filled with divots and mud and the greens are slow and filled with patches of sand. the only hole kept well is the one closest to the highway so that the course looks good from the road. Comparing this course to cayuga golf and country, one at which i am a regular, i pay 10 dollars for a round, the course is in much better condition, and the greens are phenominal. not to mention the staff are extremely nice, and the environment at cayuga is one that i have yet to experience anywhere else.
Truly great service. Totally helpful! Offered us a savings they didn't have to! We'll be back. Southern Pines has both a short course and a spacious driving range!
Well kept
Clean, basic course. Great for beginners. Still has challenges for more advanced golfers. Never really too busy. Everyone super friendly, both employees and other golfers
Great little course, able to walk it in 3 hours.
I enjoy coming to play golf here. I just wish I was better at golf..
The course is enjoyable and accommodating
terrible course, terrible condition
Played this course 2016 Sept long weekend....This course should be condemned, , Its a cow pasture ,horrible greens, actually most unplayable, long grass in fairways 3-4 inches , no maintenance ever done on this course..Gentlemen ( front desk ) in pro shop always nasty , like he doesn't want your business at all, couldn't hold a smile and conversation with anyone to help himself. No customer service skills whatsoever, Sorry to say this but, to be honest the guy was an absolute prick. Throw in the 8 dollar hot dog and that about does it.How this course stays open and actually gets customers is beyond me. There is no value whatsoever to play golf here its just a rip off , $105 for 2 players on a cart on a par 3 course that's unplayable, We would never go back to this course even if it was free. Everyone needs to know how badly run and the type of employee they have working that front pro shop. Go for a 10 dollar bucket of balls at the driving range a much better value for your money. We do not recommend this course to anyone...Stay away as far as you can...unless you want to feel unwanted and you have a 100 bucks you want to burn on the worst conditions you will ever see...Stay away people this place deserves absolutely none of our business. Only 2 positives, kitchen/bar only staff with a smile and they have an overly well stocked pro shop with good prices.
Had a quick lunch there while attebding a long drive co test with my son. Good service on the patio and resonable prices. Tap water has an odd taste, and mens bathroom could use an update.
Great price for golf.
Paid $57 for 18 holes w/ a cart - round was not even worth half of that. Every single tee box was lined with dead grass as was the rough around the greens. Fairways are littered with dandelions, dead grass and sticks. Not sure if they were bunkers or the course is trying to grow grass in them as every bunker was filled with patches of grass and weeds. They have the worst rolling greens I have ever played with patches of grass missing on some. For the cost you might as well travel 10km and play Knollwood or Flamborough Hills.
Had a geat round with my friends from Sackville seniors.
Nice course great deal on underpar got multiple ones Will be back
the worst place ever...I wouldn't play here for free ...I had a play all day...guy comes running out saying no cart for the next 18...my buddy has a bum knee and he still made him walk ...not even would he let him play 9 holes on the cart he already paid for ...on a garbage Brown cow patch....AVOID
What a great value on golf. The golf course is excellent and if you need golf equipment they have the biggest golf shop i've ever seen for a course compared to the big stores. They are a Taylor Made club fitting facility and have all of the stuff to get you fit. I'll go back when in Hamilton.
Friendly staff, decent course, food was all right. Overall a good course to play
Good
Staff were nice, simulator was great. Good experience overall!
This is a short course finished in 3.5 hrs 12 par3 and 6 par4 the catch is that some of the par3 is 250 to 290 yds. distarce.
The driving range is terrible, needs new grass and lots of work! The staff was unbelievably rude to me! Turning me away from playing 18 holes because I didn’t have a tee time! I understand not a problem, but for them to laugh at me and told me to leave and not to come back without a tee time was unneeded! I’ve been golfing for over 6 years, and have never been treated like this at a golf course! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND WILLOW VALLEY ACORSS THE STREET OR OAK GABLES!
If zero stars were an option, I'd pick it. Website clearly shows the range is open until 730. I showed up at 7 to learn it closes at 6:45. People were still on the range, but my son and I weren't allowed a bucket of balls. We were turned away by the manager and staff. Unbelievable. Horrible customer experience. Pick a different range/course.
This course is terrible. You need a broom to play on the green not a putter. The money that this place charges to play on it, you think they would put some of it back to the course. All these years here and they have done nothing to it to make it better. If you want somewhere to golf this is not the place. Go to Willow valley, Monthill, knollwood old and new one, king Forest is you want to play on real golf course.
Unfriendly staff, overbooked course, poor conditions. It would be one thing if the course wasn’t in good shape because of the hot weather, but it was really dry and they kept their greens really long, making it hard to adjust. Top this with unfriendly staff who were borderline mean, and then having to take almost 5 hours to do a par 60 course. Very disappointing.
Overall a disappointing round. I bring my son to golf courses in the Hamilton area regularly. He just rides along and occasionally hits a few putts. Southern Pines was the first course to ask me to pay for him to be in the cart, making my 18 holes on this executive length course total $75. Thankfully, and to the credit of the person working there, he changed his mind for the charge. I still ended up paying $57 for a weekday 18 holes with a cart. When we arrived the attendant was confused by our booking and couldn't find our name. He sent us off anyway and we proceeded to the first tee to wait. He came out and instructed us to wait for a second group before we could tee off. About 15-20 mins before my first shot, well beyond our scheduled time. The waiting never stopped. We waited an average of 10-12 minutes on every single tee block, literally. We ended up joining with the group in front of us on the third hole, but that never helped with the waiting. They had clearly overbooked. We never once saw a Marshall. The greens were quite poor - dying and very lumpy as a result. Every 'bunker' was roped off - no sand just weeds and dirt. There were a handful of other areas that were roped off and unplayable as well. This was also the only course I've been to in the area that is blocking their holes with pool noodles. I understand the Covid measures, but this is the only course I've seen actually blocking the holes - I've played 7-8 different courses in the area this year. Eventually my son and I had to leave without finishing because it was taking too long and we had to be somewhere else. Finally, gauging your distance to the flag was very difficult without your own device. The scorecard did not match the tee block distance as the tees were frequently shifted forward and not all the tee blocks were being utilized. There are no marked distances near the tee block nor on the signs at the beginning of each hole. There are very few yardage markers anywhere on the course (I saw one yardage marker on the course - no coloured stakes, nothing inserted in the ground, nothing on sprinkler heads). For $57 you can play full length courses with a cart that are considerably better maintained and organized. You're better off going to Chippewa, Knollwood, Chedoke, Southbrook, Oak Gables, or pretty much anywhere. Seriously, go elsewhere. Not worth the money.
Poorly maintained course. No refreshments on course.
We had a great time, despite the course being really wet and no power carts. The staff were very friendly, and there was a great selection of drinks and food!
We purchased a green fee from UnderPar at a pretty reasonable price, however, my deal did not include a power cart. My foursome paid an additional $72 at check-in to ride. The tee boxes need a lot more love and the greens were in decent shape this time. The morning dew ran the green slow but it sped up as the sun came out through the noon-hour. The tight layout of the course allows errant tee shots some forgiveness if you're wild like me. You might be hitting your second shot from an adjacent fairway. Just listen out for the 'fore!' The buffalo chicken poutine is a great choice, and the Chicken Man pale ale is a tasty craft beer. Overall, this course is 'okay'. Come with low expectations and just have a fun round of golf. I'd play it again with another good deal, but I'll be looking for that power cart to be included.
Had a quick lunch there while attebding a long drive co test with my son. Good service on the patio and resonable prices. Tap water has an odd taste, and mens bathroom could use an update.
Great place, course is ok,can be slow at times, but hey......
Course is ok. The course is in rough shape and isn't marked very well. The greens are very rough. The restaurant is really bad service and most of the food is pretty gross. Some of the wait staff are unprofessional.
Always a fun day!
Nice short course, nice patio, good food.
I just read previous reviews and it seems either people love or hate this course. I'm on the fence. I found that the gentlemen in the pro shop was nice. I had a snack after my round and the snack ladies seemed very nice. The pro shop …
Great day and fun time with good friends. Beautiful day unfortunately the greens are in terrible shape. Still a good time
The course was in great shape. Friendly staff. We will go back
lovely setting ,friendly hpful staff . Course needs maintenance
Not a great course at all. Nice staff, great patio, but the coarse itself is a mess and people are just all so close together that you'll for sure come close to being hit by other players balls.
Beautiful course Friendly staff willing to help with anything and Great Food I would highly recommend going to Southern Pines very relaxing
I was surprised how dried out and rough the course is. Very short course. Don't need your driver.
I only used the driving range. All grass tee boxes are nice. They are moved once a week so they get quite beat up. Sometimes it feels like you spend half your time looking for grass to place your ball. Prices are average as are the targets and yard posts. Balls are in better condition than most other locations. Its nothing special but there is also nothing blatantly wrong with it either. Chipping and putting greens leave a lot to be desired.
Great friendly course.
excellent
Probably the most over priced golf course I've played on. I have never witnessed greens so poorly maintained. You could see the screens underneath and there was not one nice green one the course. All of them were brown and patchy. Very hard to make any sort of put. Better off going elsewhere.
Good food but the course could in better shape, especially some of the greens.
Nice short course. Free airshow on Saturdays!
Great shape for April. Need to save up to buy a new golf outfit from their pro shop.
Trish is great and the service is wonderful
Great course, accessible for all levels of golfers, and the twilight rates are great. Range is also one of the better in the area, well priced
Great golf course. Greens are well maintained. Staff is very polite
Good learning course, some of the people that work there, have a personality like a rock .especially the old guy.
The "gentleman" at the front desk wouldn't suffer from some customer satisfaction training. His unpleasantness wasn't a great way to start the day.
Welcoming-course well kept-patio open and food was good
Horrible customer service. Booked an 18-hole groupon and tee time for 5pm. Was told carts need to be returned no later than 8pm so 18-hole may not be possible. When I asked can we do as much as we can and return before 8pm, the answer was yes and we can continue to the greens by foot if we would like. We finished 9-holes by 7pm and we were stopped saying we were no longer able to golf as the carts need to be sanitized by 8pm.... so we were essentially cut short of our time and there were many people who still had their carts after us. Many non-coloured people, unlike us who were coloured. Was quite upset from the whole experience. First 9-holes, we had a great time!
Love this place..... A great course for starting out in the game.
Great golf course & pro shop the staff are all friendly and willing to help you out with what ever you need I will definitely be going here again
Great wag jag deal on this.
The wings were amazing!!! Beer was fair priced. The course is in need of some attention... Greens are in terrible conditions (disease and damaged turf) Tees are in need of divot repair. Three items I would suggest 1. Someone who cares/knows about turfgrass 2. Someone to help find funding/volunteers to help remedy poor conditions as they appear. 3. Repair the irrigation system All in all, the course was not worth the price we paid, even at a discounted price through Wag Jag.
Awesome place to play golf ⛳️ . I love driving range the most.
Friendly staff, decent course, food was all right. Overall a good course to play
Awful customer service , awful course & driving range area. Many better options in Hamilton. Covid-19 protocols don’t seem to exist here .
For $14 for a bucket of balls the hitting area of the range should have some actual grass instead of a pile of top dressing
Small course, greens need a little work but not bad at all
Love the course
Greens and fairway in very rough shape.
Ordered thru a delivery app service. Food came cold . Fries are really greasy . Buffalo chicken sauce tasted horrible. Only 3 stars cause the chicken burgers andchicken strip meals were perfect.
The laid back staff at the golf range make practice enjoyable. From the practice greens to the range, it's a hidden gem. Worth the drive.
Absolutely worst course ever people. Terrible customer service, overpriced $$. The worst greens I have ever played on. Avoid this place!!
Customer Services was OK. Seems to be a lot of pretentious individuals that work here. The golf course was nice though!
This is a great course if you want to control your short game and lots of par 3's. Staff are nice how ever the course is in pretty rough shape with the bunkers and tee boxes.greens were pretty decent shape. Grounds crew I found were really rude by jumping in front of me while playing and did that multiple times to me and other people on the course. I could not focus after grounds crew kept interrupting me.
Great golf course and the food is excellent
The Pro-shop was very quick and responsive to email. I was able to schedule drop off and pick up of clubs for re-gripping, and they were able to turn them around in less than 24 hours during the busy first days of golf course reopening. Would highly recommend their Pro-shop for club maintenance.
Yikes this course has gone downhill. Very poorly maintained.
This 2 star is a very deserving rating. 2.5 star at best. Especially when factoring in the cost. The best description would be that is plays like a short 9 hole course. Only there is 18 holes. My complaints are: Very long grass. More cut loose grass than I've ever seen on a, golf course. Very wet. It hadn't rained for at least 24 hours. Too many short holes Marshy greens Very open. Narrow (lack of) fairways. I didn't have any one awful experience with staff but they seemed unpleasant in general. $57 for 18 holes - it is definitely not worth that. If it were maybe $30 with a cart, it would be worth It try.
