This Golf belongs to the category of Golf course.
Great course, very picturesque and friendly staff. Covid protocols strictly followed.
Beautiful course with great views of the escarpment. I definitely would go again
Beautiful views of the area from the highest point. A hard course to walk due to significant elevation changes on the escarpment. Quite often the course will offer a deal to encourage players to take a cart. I have walked it a few times and it can be challenging in spots. Clubhouse is very nice.
Great course with beautiful views from every hole.
Beautiful, scenic course on the Niagara escarpment. Challenging at times but also has some short forgiving holes. The greens were so fast the day we played which made which made the day a little more challenging. Lots of hills, if you're planning on walking. At least a push cart is recommended. The egg salad sandwich is always a favorite of mine. Fresh bread, generous in size and loads of good flavour.
Beautiful course, really friendly staff, was a little frustrated about having to hit off a mat for one hole, LOTS of dandelions (but this is the weekend after stay-at-home order was lifted so think opening was a surprise to the golf club), cart on the pricey side for a single rider. I would go back.
Always in great shape. Greens were awesome and the staff is the best! Thank you Lowville!
Had an okay day. Staff was very friendly but think the course is overprices and the greens were not in great shape
Staff was rude and was being rushed playing a round of golf with the fellas with a Marshall being sent on us for a few holes to watch us when we weren’t being slow at all. Also $20 extra for cart when over the phone they said it was included. Not coming back here and wouldn’t recommend it
I absolutely despise playing here and have refused it for the last two years. It is not well kept at all and charges an absolute premium. Would much rather give my money to some place like Millcroft or Indian wells.
Nice
Very nice course, well kept, challenging but fair. All the staff was super friendly and pace of play was great 18 holes in under 4 hours.
This was an absolutely stunning course with come gorgeous views. The greens were all in good shape and there were a good amount of very interesting holes.
SLOWVILLE! POOR management. Course needs someone that knows what their doing to manage it. Marshalls dont do much, just cruise around and don't say anything. Course layout is pretty decent. Lots of elevation changes. Greens are in good shape. Rough is long. Fairways aren't cut great. They leave the grass clippings. Had people going out behind a tournament. With no notice when making the tee time.. Right now. Not worth the money but maybe if it gets cleaned up it will. Probably won't play there again.
Always a real pleasure being here.
Love, love, love!
Fantastic vistas, course was in great shape. Very pleasant staff that go over and above for the golfers. Highly recommend this course!
Good shape Play it often
Sad to see a course go downhill. More weeds than grass where there was grass, fuzzy greens. Too expensive for these conditions. Can’t say the overall layout warrants the price either.
Good service; fair prices; nice enough place. We weren't golfing, just wanted a convenient place to get a quick and decent meal. Lowville golf club checked all those boxes. The menu is typical bar food. The fish tacos were pretty good. We will go back.
A beautiful location. Club is cut regularly, tees are not very well maintained(flat). Current food cart attendee is absolutely useless just drives by without looking at us or eye contact.
The course is fun and in decent shape. One issue we were paired with 2 non golfers. What a root canal. We helped them along and finished in decent time. Bill
Having played Lowville many times over the past couple of years I can say its my favourite in Burlington. The course is always in great shape, awesome views and perfect for all different skill levels. Overall its a great course with an excellent staff. I always look forward to playing Lowville and would recommend it to anyone.
Great course, awesome wings at the clubhouse.
Very scenic and beautiful course...fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
Very well designed course with challenging fairways and greens. Always in great shape from the beginning of the season. On a side note, make sure to use a cart as it's a very hilly course. Perfect spring conditions, cover the greens during the winter so greens are in mint shape
Good course, almost always in good condition unless there is a water shortage, and usually moves around pretty well. It also has some of the best views of any course in Ontario.
Beautiful vìews, tough course. Loved it.
Well maintained.Lush green view. Great place to golf. Challenging!
Golf cart was taken away from everyone on the course at 7:30pm, reasoning was, the pro wanted to go home, i explained how i had a rib injury and carrying clubs was not a good idea, he said oh well, that’s not his problem, which got me heated and i began laying into him for his lack of work ethic and customer service. So the pro wanting to go home early took precedence over a customer who paid for 18 holes or however many we could fit in during daylight, WITH CART. The employee sent to take the carts back first notified us on hole 10, we weren’t notified of the 7:30 thing when paying, it came about on hole 10, at 7:30 he said that because it was a twilight tee time, you don’t get 18 holes in, as an excuse to justify the action, even though we easily got 18 holes in. Cart was taken away from us at the 16th green, by the time they retrieved the carts our group was 3/4 of the way through the 18th hole as they drove by us in our carts after making us walk 17 and 3/4 of the 18th, stupidity at it’s finest, we would have been done playing and brought the carts in ourselves had they just left us alone, timing would have been the same. Another group drove by us, a mother and son, as we putted out on the 17th and remarked how they had never seen anything like this, our group agreed. As i was putting my things away getting ready to leave in the parking lot, the employee and another employee with him drove up to me in a golf cart holding a ball retriever to confront me, said he didn’t appreciate how i spoke to him, i guess i had hurt his feelings, so once again, the lowville employee’s feelings took precedence over the paying customer as he felt that confronting me was a reasonable option, this is after he went up to my 2 friends i was playing with and complained to them about me, ridiculous and moronic to do that. I let him speak for all of 3 seconds before once again laying into him with common sense, the employee with him looked at me, rolled his eyes at his coworker and walked away with a smirk knowing i was right and his fellow employee was wrong about everything he was saying. After a short tounge lashing the employee drove away to the front of the clubhouse and i could hear him bad mouthing me from across the parking lot continously for as long as i was putting stuff away. This was easily the most pathetic display of customer service i have ever seen, it is their job to appease me, it is not my duty to appease them as i am the paying customer and they are the service provider. He threatened to ban me from the golf course, and probably did, i don’t know, but it doesn’t matter because i’m not going back again. Overall the course is playable for a public course, deserves a 3/5 rating, nobody fixes ballmarks on the greens, myself and our 3some fixed no less than 20-30 on each green we played, fairways aren’t cut tight, rough is cut short, tee boxes are hilly. The scenery is beautiful you get some nice elevated views. First excuse - pro wants to go home Second excuse - you don’t get 18 holes for a twilight tee time Third excuse is a response from the owner - Apparently we were notified ahead of time, to protect us from golfing in the dark... golfing... in the dark... If we were notified ahead of time, why did a marshal need to come tell the golfers around 5:30? Why did nobody have any idea it was coming? Further example of poor customer service right there. Instead of appologizing for the bad experience and showing the world they value their guests, they make another lame and defeatable, contradictory excuse. Proof is right there folks, don’t come here... they sell you something, then steal it to go home early... then argue with you... Trash...
Tee off blocks are atrocious. Some of the worst I've ever seen. Rate - ridiculously high for what you're getting.
Nice course, well maintained, friendly staff. 4 stars because the rate quoted over the phone was supposed to include a cart but was charged additional $20 upon arrival
Member of the Men's League, great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon. Friendly competent staff, well stocked pro shop and relaxing bar c/w good food menu.
Very nice service and organization
Course in great shape..pace of play very slow for a Thursday afternoon
Good experience - Challenging course - This course proves why all courses in Canada should tarp their greens during the winter :)
Good course but very hilly.
Lowville golf club was absolutely fantastic. Everything was set up for us already and the staff was friendly. The scenery is stunning
Was golfing with my son and had my cart taken from me part way through the course. I paid for a cart for 18 holes and they had the nerve to take my cart from me AND did not give me a partial refund. All because the pro wanted to go home. Then he got nasty with another golfer when he tried to do the same thing. If the pros are that old they need their bed....GET NEW PROS IN THERE!!! Will never take my son there again!
Great course! Always enjoy coming back.
Had a terrible experience playing here. Was followed by a ranger on several holes to encourage my friends who are newer to golf to play faster. Will not return and I encourage the course to think about their practices. I agree that a fair pace should be kept, but making people feel uncomfortable and harassed isnt the way.
Great scenery, some tough holes.
We chose Lowville Golf Club for our daughter's baptism party and were so happy with our choice. The food and service were amazing, as was the view from the venue onto the golf course and the escarpment. Lauren, the events manager, was a pleasure to work with and ensured that our event was just perfect. We would definitely recommend Lowville and look forward to booking more events there.
Impatient pushy Marshals took away from the experience. But fun tough greens and a beautiful setting.
Great course for the money
Liked this course. Friendly staff. Good condition. Some great views. Good mix of holes. Had a great day. Unfortunately patio was not yet open. (June 1) due to Covid early stages.
Good course, very creepy marshals
They overcharged my group for the carts.80$ for 2 golf carts ? that ain't normal.
Great
Challenging hilly course. I love hitting downhill. Not so much uphill. Greens are undulating so expect to roll off. Good clubhouse food. Great sense of accomplishment to complete this course.
Unreasonable green fee rate in the Fall. Love to play (and walk) this course in the Fall, great colors and views and good course. Played in Oct but paid same as mid summer rate even though they had Fall course conditions and aerated greens. They offer a $12.70 discount for cart riders in the Fall, but only GTA course I'm aware of with no Fall rate for walkers. Two star rating for this policy alone. The pro shop offered a deal if I committed to multiple rounds during the year, but I wasn't looking for reduced summer rates which are reasonable, just a fair Fall rate due to Fall conditions. They offer it for riders, why not walkers?? Makes no sense. It's not the money, it's the principle.
Sandwiched in between two groups blasting music from their carts. Marshall around from time to time but clearly not very attentive.
By far my favourite public golf course! Fairways and greens are extremely well kept and absolute beautiful course and great staff all around! Will be returning here a few more times before the winter!
Awesome
Great track, great views. Greens are in great shape and run true, medium to fast. A power hitters course with small greens. Would have given 5 stars but the fairway bunkers are out of play and under repair and some of the holes are undergoing some upgrades. This didn't not effect my game. Will definitely play again, even if the course is still undergoing repairs and upgrades.
Don't bother for twilight. The elderly white male staff that work here will give you a hard time even if you're 30 mins from sunset. One of them drove a blue Maserati. Nobody's hard earned dollars should go to this club.
Extremely rude management. I tried to book a tee time with a coupon i had for this course and was told I wouldnt be able to. The initial employee who answered the phone was very polite and professional. He then handed the phone to his manager who after a few questions decided to hang up the phone. I was going to book anyways but now will be looking at another course
Decent track.
Staff was rude on the phone so cancelled tee off and will go to Deerfield
I liked the way I was treated the second I walked in the door.
I like Lowville. It's a solid public course, decent value. Greens were in good shape and bunkers are in decent shape too. It has lots of terrain being on the side of the escarpment...so a tough course if you walk.
Excellent, challenging course. Picturesque beyond belief. Pricing was very reasonable, great value.
Fundraiser of the Year! We are a not for profit Long Term Care Home and last year decided to hold our first annual Golf Tournament. We had participated in charity tournaments but never ran one. After researching a few of the courses we had played at before we decided to go with Lowville. Sandy was extremely helpful, having run many golf tournaments in the past he was a great resource for us. He was able to give us suggestions on what worked for previous golf tournaments and how to get the most out of our day. The day of the tournament Ken was there to help us organize and to ensure things went smoothly. All of our golfers raved about the course! The meal of prime rib was excellent and the service staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating. We received many compliments after the tournament. We are now planning our second annual charity golf tournament in May and we already foursomes signed up looking forward to a day at Lowville again.
Beautiful course , very well maintained. Extremely friendly staff definitely recommend for any type of golfer looking for a round in the Burlington area.
Beautiful course, in great condition. The view in October is stunning. Carts are ridiculously expensive ($20/ea) because they know most can't walk it.
Fabulous experience
Good condition
Nice layout. Beautiful back drop on some holes. Well maintained. Clubhouse offers excellent food.
This is my favourite course to play in Burlington. I have been playing regularly here for the past couple years now and it is a challenge for all golfing abilities. There are some very challenging holes and some good scoring holes as well. I would highly recommend this course to anybody that is new in the area or any golfer who is looking for a new golf course challenge. The staff and service is always top notch and the food is great too. I rate this golf course a 5/5. Jared Matthews
Golfed recently and was in good shape. Hilly course so take a cart. Beautiful views from the top.
Teed off around 12:30 today. There were a couple of foursomes who were ahead of us, playing best ball, new golfers. Maybe Saturday prime time isn't the best time for non-golfers to try golfing, but nevertheless. We watched in horror as one foursome walked 60 yards each way, one at a time, from their carts to the ball. The day was scatter, too... they just didn't know that golf carts were allowed to leave the path in general. Never seen anything quite like it... nobody would walk to the ball location (miles away) until the previous golfer had walked there and all the way back themselves. Multiplied by 4. The starter was aware that they were non-golfers and told us he was keeping an eye on them. He watched for a while, and then drove up and spoke to each of the foursomes a couple of times (they weren't moving, nobody was really golfing). Then the starter made the decision to send our group off at the third hole, so we'd be ahead of them (there was nobody ahead of them before the third tee). This was a great decision. I appreciate that he was proactive about addressing, and solving the problem. Additionally the marshall was also on the scene, telling them that they had to cap scores at 8 etc. And making sure we were all good. Great course, it's in awesome shape, and great staff. A longtime fave.
Great course Great food n staff
Beautiful views. Great course, a bit on short side but man toughest greens out there
Fun day with friends ruined by Ignorant Pros!! Once the back 9 began we were continuely harassed by them and followed throughout the game. We asked politely if they could let us enjoy our round but all they did was smile and talk to each other as we tried to tee off. Will not come back because of poor customer service. Do not recommend golfing here.
I was having a great round here with my friends until the back 9 started. Once we tee'd off on the 10th hole we were continuously harassed by the old ranger. Following us through the course and talking with his co-worker while we were playing. We Kindly asked him if we can enjoy the rest of our round in peace and he just smiled at us. It wasn't like we were poorly dressed, causing problems or being disrespectful. He had no reason to be monitoring us while we played. Worst $50 I've spent, my friends and I will not be returning and will spread the word of how disrespectful the rangers are here. Do not golf here.
Excellent Golf Course. Very challenging. Wide open holes for most part, however, the course is on a hill so there are a lot of ravines and uphill holes. Quite a few blind shots. They could have done with cutting the rough a little more closer so that you get some run for your drives. If you miss the fairway then you are dead. The greens are average speed. The staff are very polite and the starter is a delightful lady. Even the course marshalls are very polite and ensure that there is good pace of play maintained.
They are not taking solo players due to COVID-19....how can playing alone promote social distancing? Something wrong here. I guess they have financial losses to recoup like most of us.
I play at Lowville GC weekly. The staff are always so welcoming (especially Ken in the Pro Shop) and golf course is in great shape this spring.
I have played the course five times this year simply because its in amazing, mid season shape. Fairways and greens both in excellent condition. The Pro shop and restaurant staff all combine to make a great experience for all ages at the club. Will definitely be returning many times over the season!
I don't golf much, but I give this place 5 stars for the scenic view it offers.
They are organized during this Covid time. Really enjoyed my game.
Pace of play was great. The golf course is in prime condition.Friendly staff. The clubhouse has a beautiful balcony over looking the course to enjoy a cold one after your round.
Unfriendly singles policy. They don’t book singles. Hope this comes back to haunt them in the future
A great day on the golf course. The greens are in superb shape at this time of year. The course overall is in good shape and provides a fun challenge as it's built into the escarpment. At par 71, it is a good challenge for even the best of golfers. Covid measures are in place and you can book online via teeon golf.
They have oversold the course and are not spacing for Covid properly
Absolutely horrible experience. One of the Marshalls is very unprofessional and rude. Do not recommend this course at all.
Great overall golf course. I've played this golf course with friends, work colleagues and for tournaments and it has been enjoyable for all 3 occasions. The course is also always in good shape. Staff are friendly and prices are good. All in all I recommend playing here.
Had a great day .
Beautiful course and quite challenging. Very deceptive greens! Remember that everything rolls away from the escarpment....your eyes will see if differently and your brain will not believe it... but you have to trust that it always rolls away from the escapement is your want to have some 1 putts and post a decent score.
This course is a great challenge as far as golf courses go. Also a great way to lose a pound or two if you walk it. Not recommended for the weak of heart. Great views of escarpment country. Not a flat lie to be found. Fairways won't reward great drives, and greens in reg aren't a guarantee of a par. It'll keep you guessing for every lie. Fast greens.
Course itself is great with some really beautiful views. It can be a bit unforgiving on the par 3s but is a pretty average challenge for most golfers.
I have golfed this course many times now and every time has been better than the last. The course is well maintained from the fairways to the greens and all the hazards in between! The staff is very friendly and accommodating with all your golf needs. The pro shops has a wide selection of golf related items all at the highest quality. Would recommend this course to anyone wanting to play in the area.
Well kept course, great fairways and greens. Beautiful views of the escarpment.
What a gem! Good course, great views, fine dining and a fair price. The "9 and dine" was fantastic. Will do it again.
Great course , good conditions, beautiful scenery.
Great coarse!!! I will be back for another round.
Nice course, greens needs a little attention. But beautiful course.
Great course! Lots of hills and valleys. Somewhat forgiving. Beautiful views. Very reasonable.
Played for the first time recently. Moderately challenging course but in my opinion is still suitable both for beginners and experienced. Lots of grade changes in some of the holes, lovely views and tough greens combine to keep interest high. Enjoyed the game, looking forward to come back.
Played it only once. It was fun and challenging. The views are nice.
Beautiful golf course that sits along the escarpment! Course is always in great shape and staff are always friendly. Food is amazing too. Highly recommend the Bee Sting Pizza. I always look forward to playing at Lowville Golf Club.
Played today in tough conditions. Course was not in the greatest shape. Fairways weren't cut. Greens are small and tight. Lots of undulating fairways and greens. Pace was horribly slow!
great place to golf and the staff at the restaurant were so nice and pleasant. made for a great evening.
Course is in bad shape
This was a beautiful golf course. Some of the best views in the area. The reason I’m giving them a three and not a five is because there are no bathrooms on the golf course. They used to have Porta potty’s in a few spots and they’re gone now. Second, it bothers me that I have to pre-pay for my golf. This is the only course in the area that is doing this.
Beautiful course. Good value. Challenging greens. I will return.
Extremly disrespectful rangers. I understand a ranger checking in on you and asking how everything is going. This was way over kill as I felt harased and belittled. We were followed and felt stalked by the rangers. I get if we were being rude or doing stupid things but we were just simply playing a round of golf. We were told that carts have to be back by 6:30 at around 6pm. We complied as we did not want any issues and wanted to respect the course rules. The ranger then continued to follow us to the next tee box and sit behind us while another ranger came out and parked beside the fairway, at that point we politely asked if we could play our last hole in peace and have the carts back in the parking lot by 6:30 and not be followed and rushed. the ranger just grined and laughed at us and did not move showing he was just being completly ignorant. Fianlly no matter how nice the views are I would never recommend this place to anyone. No one who is spending money to enjoy themselfs on a nice weekend should have to endure that kind of service.
Love this course. Probably because I hit a hole in 1 on 13.... Great staff - service is fantastic, beer is cold and the course is beautiful. Did a round and a half today to take in more of the great views and challenging course. Well done.
Shot a 79. Best round ever.
Unreasonable twilight green fees and they only allow you to play 9 with a 5pm tee time despite how quickly you get through nine. Antagonistic staff who are on the defensive the minute you walk in and are unwelcoming. There are much better courses in the area with better green fees, friendly staff and reasonable policies.
A stunning course that follows the Niagara escarpment and allows for vastly different challenges throughout 18 beautiful holes
Great course, great condition, fast greens for sure watch out!
Beautiful setting in the Niagara Escarpment, nice golf course. Lots of people walking the course, i used a cart, lots of hills. Some holes and fairways were close and a few stray balls came whizzing past the golf cart. There are a number of fairways where you are blind to what is ahead. Overall enjoyable day
Nice views. Longest round I have ever played. 2 deep on every tee box.
Great course, pace of play
Course was in great condition, especially the greens. The food at the clubhouse was fresh and local. And as everyone has said, the views of the escarpment are amazing from this course. I will definitely be back.
amazing course all around..????????
Pace of play was slow but the course is in good condition
I really enjoyed playing this golf course. It has a really interesting layout and beautiful views. The course it's self is in great shape and the staff are helpful and friendly. I will definitely play here again.
Great course, friendly staff, great views. Course in wonderful condition, greens are tricky. Enjoy.
Nice course. Hosted company event. Nice scenary, great for the novice golfer.
