Make sure you know whether you're meeting friends at the Old or New course! Our string quartet performed an outdoor wedding here and it was well set up and organized. Beautiful scenery.
Old course: Greens were nice. Holes are too close together and no sand traps.
Try this course. It's tricky. But such a nice classic design that you don't mind. You got to play this like five times to figure it out.
Great course. Very nice people that we interacted with.
Tough but receptive greens very well looked after course. A few very tough holes. Will play it again.
A pleasant, shorter course that is well maintained. Greens were soft and accepting even in the middle of summer. Your ability to read greens will be tested.
We attended a friends wedding and I have to say we were impressed with the facility. It was not the nicest day weather wise but the team did a great job of keeping us all warm. The food was phenomenal and I would definitely recommend it as wedding venue.
We had an absolutely amazing at the Knollwood for our daughter's wedding! LOVE LOVE LOVE Kayla and all the staff! If you want a fantastic, smooth running event, this is where to go!!
Place is solid, nice course, it was a little soggy, but that's due to poop Canadian weather, not maintenance. Added bonus is that i find more balls here than i lose. so eh can't complain
Nice course, liked it better than the new course. Didn't see refreshment cart going around, maybe they went back to school?
Challenging course. Very long roughs, lost balls only feet off fairway. Bring extra balls!
Loved it.
This was the last course I got to play on with my Father before he passed away from cancer. We had a great day! He always loved the course.
Well kept course. Decent challenges. Would maybe play again.
It's golf, how bad can it be?
(Translated) A comfortable place to play golf (Original) 골프치기에 좋은 편안한곳
EXCELLENT hot dogs!
Absolutely beautiful course and excellent fairway and green maintenance. Definitely going back. I got confused and lost given there's 2 courses New and Old.. they're not beside each other, so do your map homework
Staff were super friendly, but the course is in rough shape. Standing water is an issue everywhere.
Very wet, but great layout.
One of my favorite courses, I play it when ever I can.
Nice tents for an outdoor wedding, and a nice barn for a backdrop for photos. Food was top notch.
Beautiful course to spend an afternoon on.
Great course to play! Greens super slow could confused a trim! I understand that this unprecendated time but to not have the trees marked is ridiculous...I understand they are trying to remove touch points but you had no Idea where to shoot from! Especially for the womans Tee's I was golfing with my mother in law and they need that advantage to just have fun !

Had a slow group in front very crowded even for covid

A great option for an all in one wedding venue with the house to get ready in, the grounds amazing options for photos and the reception room with awesome outdoor patio.
Well maintained and challenging
A friend and I decided to try the restaurant on site because we are fans of the owner’s other restaurants, the French and Aberdeen Tavern. (And the Diplomat but haven’t been there yet) The place is very cute and both of our meals were absolutely delicious and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back!
Good condition. I just find it a little short. Otherwise decent little course!
Beautiful setting for a small wedding.
I like the old course slightly more than the new course. I find it a bit easier with wide fairways and fewer hazards. Plenty of shade and great upkeep will make sure you have a great time golfing here.
I like the new course better. Friendly staff and well organized.
Great golf club, had fun
It was OK...... paths to drive the carts on are very rutted and not kept up in maintanence. Food was cold but delicious. Maybe more of a selection of beer on tap....
It was okay...tee blocks are not good at all as mentioned in other reviews. Greens are fine. Let's just say, I won't be returning (ever). I'll play Chippewa instead for less $ and a much better golf experience.
I always enjoy playing Knollwood Golf Course. Both Old and New courses are a great value. Good food as well.
Love the old course! Comfortable club house and beautiful course.
Overpriced for what it is. We paid $69 for 18 holes and a cart. The course is very poorly maintained. The greens had huge dead spots, you cant find any distance markers and the tee boxes were rough. There was no beer cart and all they had for food was some sad sandwiches. I've played better courses for half the price.
Great little course, good food in the clubhouse!
Photographed a wedding here in the summer and I loved the venue. Great locations for 'scenic' backgrounds and some vintage areas. The food and staff were great!
Course is very “Basic.” No traps, very level fairways and greens. Cart path was quite muddy in some spots. Was our first time playing and it will probably be our last. Seem to have a more heavy focus on events.
this is were I learned to play golf great little course to play at. it hold a special place in my heart.
The golfing is great and the food at the course is amazing! Highly recommend!
Beautiful golf course
Great course, but this fall, the greens have to much sand & what appears to be a fungus or algae!
Short course. It's called "old" for a reason.
Good golf course for exercise and playing
Most tee boxes and some greens are in rough shape. Some holes have narrow fairways which made for a challenging round. I'd play it again if they work on their tee boxes and get their greens in better condition

Had a blast with the boys on the old and new 18 hole golf courses. Thanks Knollwood! Tees high, head down, and follow through (; Cheers
We turned into this place and realized we were in the wrong place. It looks like a nice golf course . (google won't let me not review this place)
It's a well kept course with friendly staff. A bit tight on some holes so keep your ball straight. I recently played this course again as I love the course and scenery. I booked a 12:20 time and asked if they were accepting cash and was told yes. When I arrived I went to the pro shop to check in and was told they were not in fact accepting cash. I was a little puzzled after being told that they would accept cash when I booked a t time. I left to go get a prepaid visa/mc and when I returned I had 10 mins left to t up. To my dismay the prepaid didn't work even though I had just got it so at this point I was a little upset at the situation. To my delight the pro staff allowed me to play a round with no charge and even threw in some free tees. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and play again as the staff was very accommodating and friendly and the course was well kept. Thank-You to the staff at knollwood for this.
Very nice short course.
A bit short as a course. A little hairy on the green. Nice club house.
Good layout, not long but quite challenging. Well maintained. Free is a bit slow. Very friendly staff
Very nice course with nicely shaped holes, not too difficult and not too many hazards. Great for all players.
When are you going to get ball washers and benches....nonsense.
Had a fun time on the New course with family during the Tournament. Very clean course and well managed tournament.
Good staff. Nice course
Very pretty course
This is my choice for a local golf course. 36 holes, well kept, old course restaurant better than new course. Only downside is the carts are decrepit!
Great golf course, easy to setup a round, interesting course for beginners and intermediate players, good price and facilities.
Great place, friendly staff. Old course was in the best shape I've seen in a while.
It's a glorified cow pasture
The course I feel should have been in better shape due to the lockdown and price of green fees. There were no staff to take money at the pro shop when we got their. It all seemed very unorganized. If it was the few days after the lockdown was lifted I would understand. It wasn't
Good smaller golf course that's has some tough holes. The greens were good and lots of narrow or angled shots needed to be succesful. There is enough trees and water to make some shots very challenging. I recommend this course especially for those starting out.
Fine course but when people book a late afternoon or twilight round, it would be nice to know the rules around wrapping up the round by a certain time when we book to avoid us having to rush through the last 4 holes of the course. That was my only concern with playing there.

Very nice course. Well maintained and organized. Beer selection is not great and no beer cart but a fun course to hit a few.
Been going there for many years for private tournament.
Been going there for many years for private tournament.
One of my favourite courses ever with friendly staff.. would definitely play again
Not too difficult, clean and not too expensive... Shorter course in general but you would want a cart
Beautiful course, however the greens are in need of some TLC.
This could have been a nice course but everything was in terrible condition. Greens were covered in sand. Not even a beer guy/girl... $69 for 18 holes sounds about right because you’re getting F’d
I can shoot 45 on the front 9
Fantastic place great for a wedding
I've told many people this unfortunate story: On August 21 we were at the Knollwood new course for an afternoon company golf tournament. My daughter and I were enjoying our day with a variety of experienced and new golfers when the course marshall drove up to our hole. We were the last foursome in the tournament and for some reason the marshall started pressuring us to hurry up (all day we'd been waiting for the group ahead of us so we couldn't go any faster) . He just sat on his golf cart and watched us --extremely rude! To me it's like enjoying dinner with friends at a restaurant and having a waiter stand next to your table and stare at you and pressure you to finish as there are other people waiting to eat. The course was a pleasure, enjoyed my time with my daughter, but was appalled at the extremely poor customer service by your elderly marshall!
really short course 5436yds from tips. many par 4s reachable in one. layout a little quirky buy ok. green, most ok…very small. fairways again most ok, cart paths are rugged, no bunkers, but main reason for 2 stars is the worst tee boxes i’ve ever seen. photo i took was probably the worst (the blue stake is at top centre of pic, hard to see) ..and most not that far off. I get how they use a stake to mark the tee box and you can tee from where ever you like but there was nowhere but solid dirt most of times. Don’t get why boxes are so neglected here and don’t blame too much shade, too much sun, or over played because i’ve played many courses with same issues and the tee boxes are fine. staff is friendly..but sorry i base value on the course, thats what i’m there for. for $75 with cart (WAY OVER priced) i’ll take a hard pass on playing this course again.
Old course is great!! Kids are free. So 40 bucks for a cart, 1 adult 2 kids at twilight
Esthetically Beautiful golf course.......and no sand traps. Friendly, helpful staff make this course the one to which you want to return.
Great wedding venue, very pleasant staff
Nice course ,was over booked when we went very slow day
Good course for the not so talented golfer easy to maneuver
Great course, had a great experience
Its a fairly short course, which was nice after playing long course the last 2 weeks. Got pretty backed up behind some groups of senior players but overall a good time. Some of the tee boxes were in rough shape but if you are using a tee it doesn't really matter.
Decent little course in Ancaster. I usually only play their twilight rates as they’re a more reasonable price. Fairly well kept. Nice and open too, easy course for beginners. Would recommend.
A great place to have a wedding beautiful view nice backdrop and for the golfer two courses to choose from
First time on this course, I would play it again. Some greens were in great shape (they get enough sun) some were mediocre and on one green (15) the green was in really, really poor shape (not enough sun). Overall an OK course.
Course in good shape. Friendly staff
Course was not to bad, cart paths are horrible, I won't be going back.
One of my favorite courses to play, beautiful scenery, nice bar.
Not the best
This is one of my all time favorite golf courses. Get the greens in better shape next year and I will rate it a 5 star.
As I sit on the 15th close to 4 and a half hours into my round I can't help but think the course was overbooked today. When you have 4 groups waiting on the tee at the same hole it shows the complete incompetence of the pro shop staff. Nice looking course though.
Excellent I was surprised
Nice shorter but quite challenging course.
Was ok.
Friendly staff, nice course
Great course to play with friends and family.
Well kept course that's fun to play for a shorter course.
Great course for an afternoon of golf
Great course
Rather displeased with the state of this course. For $54 each my foursome and I felt ripped off. The blue tee boxes barely had any grass and very low hanging tree branches obstructed a clear view of the fairway. More than one of the greens needed grass seed. Garbage cans were rare throughout the course meaning I had to carry trash for several holes before I could properly dispose of it. And to top it off, they had not even bothered to hire a beverage cart driver. Needless to say, we won't be coming back.
We had our wedding at the new course in June 2014- ceremony on the east lawn and reception at Harris Hall. Overall we had a great day and were happy with our choice of venue. For simplicity I will break down the pros and cons of this venue: PROS - Beautiful rustic venue with converted barn (Harris Hall) - You can rent the "inn" on the property and hold your rehearsal dinner there and then get ready there the day of the wedding as well as stay there the night of the wedding... Very convenient, and a very sweet house- perfect for pictures! - They allow you to bring in a food truck for late night food- you can opt out of their late night food option and they will rebate you an amount per person. This is pretty unique for a venue to allow outside food on their property and was a big hit with our guests! - Food was great (at the tasting they plated small portions which worried us but the day of the wedding the portions were totally appropriate) CONS - Golfers will be around the day and into the evening; they do not close off the stone lounge to golfers so there may be some overlap between your guests and golfers during cocktail hour - We had the experience that they held a tournament the day of our wedding and actually used our reception room for a lunch for the golfers. We weren't notified of this beforehand and I wasn't able to get in to the room to set up my decor the way I wanted before the wedding, causing a fair amount of stress. They have since apologized for this oversight and compensated us. - Inconsiderate staff- my sister in law made our wedding cake and made amazingly intricate fondant flowers. After serving the cake the staff actually threw ALL of these in the garbage!!! It almost made me cry it was such a waste. They have since apologized for this. They did set aside our top tier for us but it has no flowers on it... Such a waste. The staff were also somewhat ambivalent at times, not super organized with our items (the next day we had to ask multiple times about specific items until they found them for us) and did not follow through with everything on our "event sheet" (I.e. moving flowers from ceremony site to reception site) until I reminded them to. As I said before, the day was great and we wouldn't change our choice of venue if we could. Any wedding will have some hiccups and in hindsight ours were relatively small- Christina and Nicole did a great job and responded to my issues afterwards with genuine concern and compassion.
Used to be my favourite course, but the cart path has fallen into disrepair and the course is pretty covered in leaves.
So scenic and well manicured Had a great day
Course in bad shape. The fairways are half dead and rock solid
Coarse was a little rough
Greens are very rough lots of spots were there was absolutely no grass at all . But green fee pricing was fair.
Course was in brutal condition, greens were long and on the hottest day they had no marshals maintaining player speed or a cart offering refreshments. Not worth the price or the drive.
Not a bad course. Kind of short.
Great course with challenging terrain and big trees.
This course is in bad shape. Extremely dry cracked grounds. Greens had dead spots everywhere horrible. Should have paid us to play there.
The couse was in decent shape with fast greens. A great day.
Greens and Fairways are well maintained. Great venue all around for other activities as well.
Great course
Nice course... challenging!
Very slow play
Nice course, forgiving and fairly open
Book online there phones never work. Both courses in great shape.
The course is great but trying to book a tee time is frustrating. I have been calling many times as well as going online but can't get a response
My wife and I 10 years ago now considered getting married here. We had a dinner to test out the food and it was excellent. We ultimately decided on another location for other reasons. My corporation also used to golf here and the other course for many years until we grew to large for the venue. A true pride of Ancaster Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I can't figure out why we haven't been back since. Maybe I'll have to fix that!
Decent enough course except the tee boxes are completely hacked up and half of the greens are covered in divots and bald patches. For over $50 I didn't see the value in it. I might try again next year.
Attended a wedding here. The grounds are beautiful and the venue very spacious and makes a lovely setting. It was raining a little during the ceremony but the staff had put up a tent that accommodated everyone perfectly
Beautiful place for a wedding and any event really love this place
Good staff and food.
Enjoyed playing very much. Great time with your friends.
Really nice golf course and good food.
Nice course get a kart well worth the cost especially on the Hot and humid days.
Played well.
Fantastic service, staff and course. 10/10
Course challenging and in excellent condition
Love this course. Brings back lots of memories shared here.
Course is generally in good shape. Greens are slow but in good shape. Course had a lot of standing water on it when I played it, because of all the rain we have had recently. Fun course, that is on the shorter side of golf courses!
New course is more challenging than the old course, but both are good the average golfer.
Great golf course, wonderful staff, fabulous facility, see Eric when you are there he'll make sure your looked after!
Good fun course
Nice little track
Nice little track
Great time, different challenges then the New course. Course was very wet and unplayable in a few spots however I would argue that that was because other players can't abide by the cartpath only rule. Only suggestion would be to have a few Marshall's out to monitor at times. We will be back for sure.
Despite the recent rains, the course is in great condition. Personnel are all pleasant re golf area and dining room. Menu has a good variety with decent prices
Completely embarrassing customer service. Incredibly unprofessional from start to finish. Course “Rangers” were acting like Paul Blart mall cop in attempts to make themselves feel powerful. Course was horribly kept and pin placements are laughable. Not worth any penny of your money. Complete and utter waste of time. ZERO enjoyment at all. I’ll never come back again.
Make sure to bring your own soccer ball for foot golf!! It doesn't specify on the website, and despite calling and asking and being told "no, no need to bring your own", you absolutely need your own. Despite paying $20 person, they don't even have soccer balls that you can borrow. Was ready to leave (because we didn't bring our soccer balls as we were told there was no need to) except they couldn't figure out how to refund our money in the pro shop. Ended up playing because an employee named Jason apologized, found us two random soccer balls and comped a golf cart. Jason is the ONLY employee in there who is worth speaking to and the only reason I'm rating it two stars.
Course is the same hasn't changed in years
fairly decent course but the tee decks for the most part are hitting off grass, not really a proper tee block. we played a twilight and were “last hole guys” on 12 with the sun still up over the trees, for 50$ with a cart. not high on a list of ever coming back. maybe their other 18 is better. we played the old course.
I thoroughly enjoyed my round yesterday on the Old Course! This is not a long course but it has fabulous rolling greens that make it a challenge for even seasoned golfers! Be sure to check the lay of the land as you approach the green if you are a golfer that focuses on your scorecard! The deep deep woods with beautiful, varied, mature trees made this round especially delightful. Thread the needle on your drives and have a great round!
75 dollars for a 30 dollar course..way to much money..greens are terrible
Forgot how challenging that coarse can be.Had a good time, the gentleman that worked there even cleaned are pull carts for us,as it was still a bit wet and muddy.Place looked very nice.
Way over priced $70 each on a Saturday with cart. T blocks were terrible, no grass anywhere or beer cart girl. Would not recommend.
Got married in September and came here for some wedding photos. We paid over $350 to take pictures here and when we arrived nobody was there to give us any direction to photo locations and when we finally tracked someone down they had no idea where pictures are normally taken and basically just told us to stay off the green and do whatever... We were very unimpressed with the service we received and would not recommend this place for wedding photos, or at least not paying to take them here. It was so unorganized we could have walked on and had the exact same experience and I doubt anyone would have even noticed we were there!
Last day of Men's League. Beautiful weather for golf. Gourse was in good shape considering the recent rainfalls.
Nice course. Short, but still nice and relatively easy where you can build up your confidence.
So much fun thanks for having us!!!!
Old course in fine shape. Short course, greens are hard to read, overall a good challenge for the mid to high handicapper's
! This late Into The season they still don’t have any tee off blocks ..dirt … and uneven ! No upkeep anywhere…
Great mid level course. Effective distancing measures in place. No Tee blocks out
It is a beautiful place.Staff is amazing.
Great people there We travel from Waterloo to play their "under Pars. Pretty good food too.
Great course for a relaxing round
Kitchen is apparently closed...
Booked 2 foursomes with the pro shop for a family day with my boys and my father. When we arrived at the course there was little to no parking. All tee blocks relocated. The greens were in horrible condition. The bar was not open and there was no food at all due to a "wedding shower" is what we were told. I hope the shower went well and they get a lot of return customers because this customer will not return to golf ever again. You are a golf course therfore your priorities should be looking after the golfers not a one time shower. Im sure they ate well.
It is a little on the short side but the course makes up for it by being in great shape and scenic. Narrow holes gives an added challenge.
Pretty good wedding venue ya know
Played on July 10 old course, is in fantastic condition right now. Fairways and greens were best ive seen it last 3 seasons. Love both the new and old, last year new was in a bit of rough shape so it was great to see the old in such condition. Going to play the new soon, keep it up knollwood staff! Great people there aswell.
Why are the tee blocks unkept? The course is in great shape, including the greens but the grass is shorter in the rough than the tee blocks in most cases. Kind of disappointing to start every hole with less than desirable conditions, especially for what I'm being charged. Other than that, no complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Great day of golf but the cart paths are terrible!!! Treacherous to drive on. They need to fix them!!
Name says it all, it's older and that shows on the course. But the course design was pretty good
Nice coarse friendly staff there are a few tough holes but a nice mix of long and short which allows club usage to variate. I advise making a tee time ahead of time starters are nice as well as we have never had any problems with the Marshall’s.
Nice course to play with 3 friends
Very busy but well kept
Nice course. Challenging for the length. Some tee boxes need grass. Only down side from our visit. That and my score but...
Was there for a wedding! Great time food and entire venue was very enjoyable beautifull setting! Staff was great
Staff was very miserable. Finished 9 at 1 pm and they only had one sandwich left for lunch. Course was in very good shape but other than that it was not a good experience.
Disappointed to see a group of 6 were aloud to go out causing a back up.
Thank you Carly, Samantha, and the Knollwood team for a flawless execution of our wedding day! From our initial visit with Carly and the tour of the venue to our wedding day on July 7th, Knollwood has been nothing but professional, accommodating, and resourceful! The grounds were breathtaking, the tent was classy, and the staff were enthusiastic and helpful. We LOVE how EASY Knollwood made the planning for us. Their wedding packages included all tableware/glassware, linen selection, set-up and take-down, coordinator, DJ, and more! Our guests could also not stop talking about the food – the prime rib melts in your mouth! Thank you Knollwood for being apart of our special moment. We could not have selected a better venue and definitely would recommend Knollwood to other couples. P.s. My husband and his groomsmen very much enjoyed the complimentary round of golf!
