We offer you the reviews of real people who know the products of Knollwood Golf Club - New Course (Golf) in Brantford (Canada).
As of day this business gets a rating of 4 over 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is high, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the assessment is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Golf is included in the category of Golf course.
Well kept course. Fairly open and forgiving in places.
The greens need sone work but the course all in all was very forgiving.
The greens were in horrible condition. Staff was running loud generators to collect balls out of the ponds in the middle of the day. Unpleasant, won't be back, don't recommend.
Good for a round of golf for sure
wonderful venue for our daughters wedding!
I played on July 26 2020. I chose this course cause i was meeting my brother and this was a good halfway point. The course was in horrible condition the greens were so hard that they bounced as if it was on pavement sometimes but they were super slow. Some of the greens didnt even have grass on half of the green. We snaped tees just trying to get them in the ground. The staff were great tho and very friendly. Im glad i paid the twilight rate of 35 not the normal 55. It was barley even worth that rate. Will not be back to this course
Love the new course. A fun place to play. Decent deals if you look around
The course itself is your average area golf course. Their senior's discounts for golf and carts is reason enough to get me to keep coming back. It's actually in pretty good shape though. I like the layout of it and pace of play is pretty good also. If they would spend a little more time and effort on the greens (cutting and rolling) as they are bumpy and slow that would upgrade the rating. The best improvement would be to fix up the tee blocks by grading and seeding as some are pretty uneven and almost barren of grass. Nice flat, plush tee blocks and quicker greens could make this a must play golf course for the Hamilton area.
NIce golf round
75 a round mid November, $8 dry sandwiches, heavily sanded greens, leaves not blown. What a rip off.
Marshall kept rushing our group and was generally argumentative. What am i supposed to do sprint to my shots. I didn't know golf was supposed to be an extreme sport with sprints. I was just there to have a relaxing time with my 65 year old father. Why were we made to feel so rushed and unwelcome by the Marshall?
Great wedding venue
Tee boxes need a bit of work and yardage markers would be handy but great value for the course. Beauty day out.
Cut the rough and a couple of greens need attention. But it's still spring. Nice coarse over all.
(Translated) It's a good place to visit often. (Original) 자주 가서 쳐도 좋은 장소에요
Very nice and cool place for a golf ⛳ game and wonderful for a nice wedding ???? party & food is amazing good...... ???? ???? ???? ✌️ ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? Eh ????
Great day for a round of golf, staff were exceptionally friendly and the course is in good shape.
Great shape, excellent layout.
Difficult to navigate for 1st time, loaded with blind tee shots even 2nd shots Good course some very tricky shot making will be acquired
I prefer the old course. Overall had a decent time here but I'm really getting tired of boomer management condescendingly saying "you're not supposed to share clubs." Like I can't help it if my friend doesn't have clubs okay? My friend and I golf just as quickly with our clubs than four people who each have their own clubs. I hate that taboo with golf. We met the (owner?) Jim Harris and he was a nice guy. Gave some tips and shared stories about golf with my friend and I.
Wide fairways. Nicer than the old course.
Knollwood - the new course - was actually VERY enjoyable, and I’m definitely going to play again before the season is done. The only thing keeping it from a higher rating was some of the conditions - the greens were a bit shaggy all around, while one green was in decidedly poor condition. Also - definitely a minor gripe - no beer cart! But, definitely a good time. Thanks, Knollwood!
Very nice courses
Attended a wonderful wedding and reception here! Beautiful setting!
Goat trqck
Nice layout but not maintained.
Beautiful course
To whomever staff or management that encounters a personal issue, please keep It to yourself. We don’t appreciate the disturbance caused by a women that I believe just realized her husband was cheating. I appreciate the quality service from our cart staff but honestly the chief and who ever works front just made our visit very very uncomfortable. I do not need to go over your divorce papers or have you cry about it for me. The chief, I believe his name was Bert did not take the situation serious and was laughing when I saw him walk past me. Keep it professional or we may call the police.
A bit off the beaten path, but worth the drive. Within striking distance from Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga. Nice course layout that will provide some challenge to the seasoned veteran, and also provide a fun time for those who do not play very much. Pricing is good, with holiday rates like Father's Day. Clubhouse has a restaurant and seating area that is cozy and comfortable. Call ahead to book a tee time, or use the website to do so as well.
it's a good course to play week inq00
Played the new course today and despite all the rain it's in great shape. Totally enjoyable, friendly staff and fair prices. Try it you'll be hooked.
The attendent was extremely rude when we arrived. Tee blocks aren't marked, no yardage markers. No map on score card.
Attended wedding very beautiful great day
I love it
Is your average decent value course but comes with some issues. Greens and tee boxes are generally not in good shape. Also don't love how many holes have completely blind shots. The round we played was very slow, 4 hours and 45 minutes. Didn't see a marshal the entire round trying to help with the pace.
Great course for a decent price. No sandtraps which is good or bad.
Excellent golf club and course! Full 18 with interesting hills, ponds, and turns! Enjoyed my first time there with the boys! Thanks Knollwood golf club for having us! We'll be back! Cheers! FORE!!!!
Great course and excellent value.
Friends of mine had a wedding here. The ceremony was facing the end of one of the holes with a little pond as a backdrop. There is shed that the bride came out of it worked perfectly. The appetizers where then outside with a few little games to play. The dinner was held inside of a really nice building. The couple didn't need to decorate much at all. The staff the whole time were very friendly and inviting.
Attended a Christmas party here. Really really great staff and fantastic atmosphere and food also. Would highly recommend as a place to host your function.
We had a good day out. They didn't have a lot to chose from when we went in the clubhouse. That was disappointing.
Great staff and beautiful course ... Great for beginners.
Great Value for the Money - Staff are fantastic - flexible and accommodating - keep your expectations real and you will be pleasantly surprised. Very clean - very professional.
Recently attended a wedding here. The dining area was beautiful but the staff seemed miserable. Felt uncomfortable talking to the servers. The grounds around the wedding were also unkept, they could have atleast raked up the grass around the spot used for the outdoors ceramony. Would not have my own wedding here based on the experience.
Great for weddings!
Well taken care of.
This is peaceful at its best. Unless you play the game to swear a lot
The new carts are here!
My usual course. Great value. Not quite a five star as the course was a little unkempt with over grown roughs. Fairly dry for the recent weather though
Course was in pretty good shape the greens were a little long but other than that it was in good condition for this time of the year
Perfect wedding location!!
Great course. Marshall when we walked in was a bit crusty but at the turn and at the end, he seemed to mellow out. Didn’t see the cart girl the entire time so had to grab drinks at the turn in the clubhouse. Restaurant wasn’t open so dunno if that was cuz of COVID or just didn’t feel the need to operate. ????
A nice place to play golf a little pricey for the quality of the courses. But has a great staff and friendly service.
Course was well kept however hole locations on greens were surprisingly very hard.
We had our wedding here in 2015. They were so accommodating and friendly. We had a smaller wedding and I highly recommend this location for parties of any sort. Very low key and laid back environment though so if you're high maintenance go somewhere else.
The best thing about this course are the greens - you have to see them to believe them. They might want to invest in some shade grass turf for some of the tees and could dig some bunkers to add more variation. You can afford to spray here since lots of fairway to work with for many holes but some crazy tight tee offs on some tees if you play blue. Gonna try the old course next and see what its like.
Great course. First time playing there, worth the money. Gave a 4 star, because if you are open for business then the tee blocks should have been out on the course. But we'll be back.
(Translated) Great race (Original) Great corse
Played end of nov and the condition is pretty good. Will be back to play in the summer.
The course itself was nice and in good condition. However, both of the carts ended up running out of gas at different times during the round. One time it took them 30+ minutes to drive some gas out too us while we let groups play through. The second time, on the 10th hole we were 300yards from the club house and they still took 15+ minutes to come out. At the end of the round, the guy who filled our carts up both times wouldnt let us stay out 15 extra minutes to play the 18th hole because “carts had to be in by 8:45”, even though we were delayed 45-60mins because of cart trouble. Very frustrating and the staff were not accommodating at all. Likely won’t come back because of this.
For April the 4th, the course was suprisingly dry. The weather was great and the pace of play was good even though it was busy.
Like the old course not so much tight now need more experience
Gorgeous, varried course, will definitely return
Just recently attended a wedding there, they state that they are covid friendly and responsible however a group photo with no masks on and expecting the guests to serve themselves the appetizers with no tongs is NOT Covid friendly or smart! The wedding director was completely disorganized and there was no one helping the guests out when they arrived on where to even go! The upstairs bathroom was broken, the wait staff were having their dinner downstairs while the bride and groom paid for an open bar!! ( which we were instructed not go to the bar to place an order ) Very disappointed. Would not recommend this at all!
Tee boxes, tee boxes, what tee boxes!
Got married here, the staff were utterly amazing and we couldn't have been happier!
Very disappointing. There are greens on the front nine which are almost unplayable. I understand that not much could be done about mother nature, but the cost should reflect the conditions on the course. I had a wagjag, which made the round very cheap. If I had paid the full 70 or so dollars to play this place on a Sunday only to end up on some greens which have very little actual grass so them making putting pointless, I would not be a happy camper.... I've always really enjoyed playing here, but dont see myself coming back unless the playing conditions improve or green fees are significantly reduced.
Prob my favorite course around !
we had a stellar afternoon, course in good shape, greens a little slow but true, and the wind was a factor ...excellent value..
Good shape for early in the year. Would have been nice to be able to get a sandwich.
Overpriced
Nice course, finished our round in 4 hours even. Got a great deal on wagjag $80 for 2 with cart and a sleeve of balls. No bunkers on the new course, some blind shots but otherwise good place. Turkey sandwich was a deal a 3.50 half price late season on food.
Nice course, in good condition considering its been so dry.
Not as good as the Old Course... But still pretty good.
Great course
Nice course but no cart girl in the morning I started golfing at 9 You can now serve alcohol at 9 in the morning y does the cart girl start at 11:30 alcohol or not people get thirsty
Bought logo's golf balls, great service, great price
Solid course - a challenging course that has some really nice holes that require technical shots. I played in March and the conditions were very good
Clearly Covid has impacted many businesses and how they operate. It is unfortunate some like Knollwood have used Covid as an excuse to be lazy and provide poor customer service/experience. We golfed there today and no tee blocks, no beverage cart, sprinkler not turned off on the 4th tee off, no marshall to warn slow foursomes, 1 person working the pro shop trying to answer the phone, check in golfers, serve customers beverages and workers clueless about working around greens while golfers are trying to play the hole. Why even bother to open? Clearly they would like people to take their business elsewhere.
Nice coarse the greens could have been better, they were top dressed and we didn't know that coming in for our field day.
Was good course for me and staffs were very friendly.
(Translated) In general, it is an easy course because Because there are no bunkers. (Original) 보편적으로 쉬운코스이다.왜냐면 벙커가없으니까.
Course is in great shape
Poor choice of drinks low maintenance on course much to be desired
GREAT staff. Lovely course. Happy as a clam!!
Friendly staff. Course was in great shape.
Great venue. Was there for a wedding. Clean facility. Attentive staff. Food was on par if not above average for such an event.
Greens need to be improved. Otherwise, course is great for amateurs.
First time on this course, absolutely LOVED it. Other then a couple of the greens that were in rough shape, everything was perfect. Beautiful scenery, not crowded, super nice staff and the price was the best part. Great value. Highly recommend this course.
Nice location, good food
Enjoyed the course overall. However some ruts and holes on the golf cart pathways need to be filled for safety.
Nice course with a challenge. Reasonably maintained. Good amenities.
Amazing golf course and Amazing staff. The greens are absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. The grass in general is well taken care of. I will definitely be returning along with my group and friends and family. I will be recommending this course to everyone.
Nice golf course
Great golf course.
The greens are slow very slow and a lot of the tea boxes are mostly dirt but other than that great course, maintenance guy of the course told me he completely killed everything with fertilizer being put on too early on in the year so it's understandable
Nice to get out need to stop TAILGATING marshal should be checking
Everything looks great till you look down at the terrible tee boxes and greens still a good game not in as good a condition as the old course.
Great course
Good course layout. Conditions were mediocre.
Always a good time. A little bit wet in mid April, but we were still able to drive every where. Found a new putting technique and was doing a lot better.
Beautiful course with some nice challenges. Staff and service are excellent
Very nice intermediate course
good fun course
Unfortunately to the owner but the front 9 was probably the worst course I have played all year. I had a fellow in from Sudbury and thought this would be a course which he would like to try. Unfortunately that was a mistake. Most of the greens and t boxes were not in good shape at all. For a newcomer to your course there should be plaques at the t boxes with the layout of the hole especially for the blind holes. No ball washers? It is all the little things which would make someone want to come back. The patio is to close to the first tee so you can hear and see the patrons. A little bit of lattice would help or maybe some shrubs to block some of the noise. On the good side the starter and the cart washer were really nice and helpfully. By now you are probably thinking but "WILL YOU COME BACK" and my response would be. Not until some changes are made and the front 9 is somewhat repaired. Best of luck in the upcoming year. Maybe you should have a locked suggestion box for your eyes only and listen to what the new golfers to your course are saying. Just a thought. Well thanks for reading and I hope to see you again In the near future.
Fairway and greens were very hard. Played here before in much better conditions.
Course was in good shape, friendly staff. Course makes you use most of your clubs in your bag. Always an enjoyable round.
Great Condition!!! ????????????
Was told I couldn't pay cash for green fees and then couldn't pay amex either. For some reason cash is acceptable at the refreshment cart though. What a joke.
Very wet from the 3 days of rain. Let carts go out, not a good decision
One of the worst managed and maintained courses I have ever been too. Majority of the greens were like putting on a 70's mini putt course and waiting 20 mins to tee off every time was terrible.
Was golfing on a beautiful September evening when we were approached by the marshal (whom my wife had never met before and she golfs there regularly). He recommended to skip several holes on the back 9 to speed up our game even though we had the course to ourselves. Apparently there is a 7:00 "cart curfew" which she had never heard of even when she golfed there the week before! He said that 7:00 was dusk even though sunset was actually 7:25 and it is daylight for approx. 30 minutes after sunset. We were very disappointed with his attitude and instead of going to the old course for wings after our "curfew" was up we decided not to give them our business and went elsewhere to eat!
Had a great round of golf.
80 dollars for 30 dollars course price gouging ..greens terrible..bunkers are dirt..
Greens need a little help, got a great deal on are round.well worth it
My rating of this course is mixed. I think the rolling hills that this course is built on are awesome and The layout course is very nice. There are some neat/interesting holes like the 8th and 18th holes. The green of the 17th was fantastic!! On the downside, the course needs to be better maintained. Tee blocks need to be re-sodded. Greens were shaggy and slow but it is the end of November so I’ll let that slide. Other Constructive criticism: add bunkers to this course. I don’t think that I saw one. Clear out some of the trees on approach to the 3rd green and on the approach to the 5th green. Way too tight. The top courses that I have played in Ontario are far more open that these 2 holes. If some of these things are addressed then this course could be fantastic!!
Knollwood courses is one of the better one in Hamilton area they very well kept and great condition to plau any time of the year .
I cannot adequately express how happy we are over our experience holding our wedding at Knollwood. We got married on November 2, 2019 and had both our ceremony and reception at Knollwood. The ceremony took place in Hawthorne Hall (we were planning to be outside but it was raining) and the reception took place at Harris Hall. The 15 months of planning this wedding with our Event Planner Anna was so much fun. Anna was incredibly supportive, patient, accommodating, encouraging, and enthusiastic. She is so amazing and we'll really miss her now that our big day is over. On occasion we worked with other staff members who were equally wonderful. On our wedding day, the staff made us feel like royalty. We felt so special and important and were really catered to. The food was DELICIOUS, even better than the tasting we had earlier in the year. We purchased the package which offered chicken, salmon, or beef and our guests really appreciated the options. The atmosphere was so romantic. Our guests loved the venue so much. One of our smartest wedding decisions was to book the Knollwood Inn for the weekend. The Inn was a lifesaver and very well utilized throughout the whole weekend. We hosted a group of people there for dinner and a sleepover the night before the wedding, a breakfast and lunch the day of the wedding, and a breakfast the morning after the wedding. Many members of our bridal party and family stayed over at the inn with us the night of the wedding. We also had hair and make-up come to the inn, which really made the experience stress-free. Also, some of our guests with babies used the Inn to rest/breastfeed during the wedding. If you are booking a wedding here I highly recommend booking the inn. I can't say enough about this venue and truly recommend it for weddings!
Favorite course!
Condition of the course was sad
A classic course. While somewhat shorter, the course requires strategic shot making. Very good conditions.
Great golf course and wedding venues
Quirky course! Conditions were decent. Some of the tee blocks were uncomfortably close to the greens and dodging incoming golf balls became a separate game. Some unusual blind shots and unorthodox layouts. There were no tee block markers so everyone just chose a spot which was surprisingly annoying! Playing this course was a last minute decision and we weren’t expecting much but the greatest frustration was from the marshal. He apparently worked a gruelling seven hour shift and everyone had to leave by 9pm. We were not made aware of any early closing before hand and neither were the groups behind us!! We were annoyed by his presence on the 16th hole advising us of the upcoming closing. He drove his cart right into our approach shot on the 17th yelling at us to leave the course and attempted to stop us from finishing the hole. He then blocked the 18th tee demanding us to exit with half hour of daylight left. I’ve played on many golf courses and have never experienced anything like this!! I recommend you play anywhere other than Knollwood and if options are limited during Covid then try your hand at pickle ball or lawn bowling or just stay home and mow the lawn!
Awesome golf course for a great price, I also forgot my wallet there and an employee dropped it off at my house for me. 10/10 great staff thank you a million
Best course in area for price. Very well kept!! Great job Knollwood
I don't remember golfing here... But there is ample parking...
Reasonable price for a decent golf course. A couple of halls are very hard as you can score double par on each easily.
Excellent condition of the course. The absence of bunkers is made up awesomely by the undulating fairways. Well cut fast greens. We had a bit of rain during the round, but that did not really have an effect on the speeds. Awesome and welcoming staff. Very well done the whole team. If I could I would give it 6 out of five.
Wonderful.
I recently had my wedding at the new course, Harris Hall and it was absolutely amazing. I can't even put into words how organized and smooth everything went with all the staff at Knollwood. Not to mention the GM, Steve who clearly loves his job! He was there the night before to ensure everything was how I wanted it and everything was Okay. He was the one that actually set up everything the night before and he would let me peek to make sure everything was okay whenever I wanted (the night before of course) haha! :) The food was absolutely amazing! everyone is still talking about how amazing the food and the service was. The day of coordinators were so amazing too! they made sure everything was going smoothly and did everything for myself and my husband! I honestly didn't want the day to end because it as soooooo amazing. The DJ we used was DJ close thats with Knollwood and OMG he was amazing also! he was so easy to work with and did an amazing job Djing! I will for sure he going back to Knollwood for sure and I will forever recommend Knollwood to alllll my friends and family! THNAK YOU KNOLLWOOD! I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL! <3
Awesome
Great course and friendly staff
Tight and a little goofy but the greens roll pretty true.
The golf course was in great shape and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will return for another round soon.
Good fairways but greens need to be brought up to par. Slow, hairy, and sandy. Tough to stop balls even for players with 0-9 handicap skills. We had 3 in our group.
The price is right and if you're just out to have casual fun it's not a bad course. The front nine is very quirky bordering on silly. The first two holes are about the easiest you'll ever play, then it goes into the woods for some of the weirdest holes that you'll play this year. Lots of blind tee shots and greens that you won't actually see until you're standing over your approach shot. The 3rd hole is a 440 yard par 4 that will either make you draw a driver around a bank of trees into a tight alleyway towards the green, or to face a 200+ yard blind approach into a small protected green. The greens and tee boxes on the woods holes have lots of dead patches and are left longer to try to let them grow back, so there is two distinctly different types of greens on the course. The back nine is much more consistent and much less quirky. Overall it's well kept and has nice scenery
My backyard has nicer grass
I have been member for 3 years...great staff a tough course to play....you will love the new course...poppy
