Great experience. Truly beautiful But be careful and watch out when headed down toward the 11th hole. The path abruptly takes a right hand turn and if your new to driving the carts as I was you could potentially ride off the cliff and topple the cart or ride up the hill on the other side trying to correct yourself and so doing so flip the cart and harm yourselfs pretty badly. Do not drink and cart. Lol . Beautiful experience however.

This is one of the nicest public tracks in Hamilton! It's not the easiest course and I would not recommend it for beginners. It's well maintained and have play a round here at least once/ year. Highly recommend and also worth the drive if you're coming from out of town. My only issue is that it can be slow-play at times - it would benefit from a foreman speeding things along at times.

Absolute worse golf experince in 40 years of playing. Rate was fine $ 55. but the cart rental was an absolute RIP OFF due to Covid 19. For 2 carts with a protective shield in middle of cart was $ 72.00, 18 dollars each a golfer. Unfriendly STAFF, old crusty men, right from the parking lot attendants, practise green and first tee starter. No need to be upset and mad on first tee. Our foursome felt ripped off after driving 2 hrs to Hamilton to golf at a number 4 ranked course in Ontario, on a friends recommendation. Our foursomes viewpoint, WE WILL NEVER EVER BE BACK TO GOLF HERE AFTER UNPROFFESSIONAL TREATMENT AND PRICE GOUGING DUE TO COVID 19.

Love this course and it is generally well run. Had several bad experiences today with pair doing fertilizer on greens. No knowledge of golf etiquette, frequently started a green as we were hitting into it. If they stopped to wait for us, they stood right behind the pin at the back of the green. Spoke to them once but they didn't get it. More training required.

Love this place, very challenging for a course that is under 7000 yards. Escarpment rolls on the fairway and green and I really love the mimicked design of the valley holes from Glen Abbey on #11-15 .. must play. It hosted the Canadian Mens University championships at one point so it has the bones of a great track!

Played the coutures on October 28th. I hadn’t played it in quite a few years. The course is in tremendous shape, excellent layout and the views this fall are stunning. It’s a tough course but also very playable. The staff are doing a great job during these Covid-19 times and are to be highly commended for their service and congeniality. The grounds crew are doing a super job. Make sure you play this course!

This is the best 4 star course in all of Ontario. From a architectural and golf purist point of view, it is one of the best championship layouts, and by far the best I have ever played. I play here at least 5 times a year, and usually more when conditions are leaning more towards fair and tamed rough and quicker greens, compared to the US open style death rough and slow as hell, soft lush greens that sometimes happen out here in peak growing times. You almost have to play here at 7 AM. It was originally laid out and built to host the Canadian Open, but many problems with ownership eventually caused the course to become owned and maintained by the City of Hamilton. The good thing about that means that anybody can (and should) get out to the forest for a reasonable fee. The bad thing about being a muni is that it will never be in good playing conditions. Its a 7200 yd layout with unforgiving bumps and hard pan areas, and long thick rough that has to be 50% clover. The rough (weeds) and bunkers (also weeds) are complete death. You have nice fast fairways and then rough that is barely mowed. And sadly, I played it yesterday and the greens were mega soft and way too slow. Maybe I'll change my review back to 5 stars in the summer if the course gets in better shape like last year. Cant wait to come back in July when hopefully it can get firmer and faster.

Finally played here and really enjoyed it. It was a very windy day but manageable. The greens were the best of any city course I have played. Some nice elevations and a few blind spots made it a challenge. Choose your clubs carefully on your approaches or your first putt could be very interesting. Played in under 4 hours so no pace issues. Feels like you are the only group on the course most of the round. I recommend playing here for sure.

Beautiful course, well kept and stunning scenery and trees. It sits right on the Niagara Escarpment or Hamilton Mountain (which is a hill). Some narrow fairways and some wide, a lot of hills and dog legs, greens roll about 10-15 so medium to fast. Fun, challenging and well priced. Would recommend.

Usually, I never have an issue golfing at Kings forest but after today's round, I am disappointed with the golf course. Had a later tee time and after finishing 9, I asked the staff where I could buy a sandwich or a Gatorade only to be informed that they had nothing to eat and nothing to drink. I had asked if I could at least buy a bottle of water. She told me they had nothing and left. I understand were in a pandemic but to not be able to provide water to customers on the course is unbelievable. Don't think I'll be back for a while but from the sounds of it, they aren't concerned about non members.

Wonderful course with amazing views. We payed 41 with carts around twilight. Can't beat that rate. Greens were immaculate and the fairways were kept well. Clubhouse leaves a bit to desire, but service was nice. Highly recommend and worth the drive out here to golf.

Is undermaintained that some parts are dry as carpath. Cart girl was awesome and efficient. Old man at beginning taking our slips and rushing people. Not cool when i paid 91 dollars with cart shared with 1 other than forced to be pair with 2 others that were more experienced. I wouldnt have booked it if i had to play with strangers for 91 bucks. I also spent 90 bucks for 9 dollar beer and powerades the fact that some people where so ignit i and my crew wont deal with some spoiling it for the whole bunch. To expensive for bad experince ill stil to the much better atmospher of knollwood in ancaster. What a shame :(

There is a good golf course. Also there are softball fields which you can go play a game with friends or there's a leagues to join. An my favorite is the trails that you can take your dogs,bike's,or just walk for hours

I took my son for a round on Saturday, November 5 to enjoy the Fall "regular" rates and use a Fall 2016 coupon that was expiring this year. Rates were twisted to make the coupon work completely to their benefit. Obviously an independently owned course would have appreciated our business more as they need customers more. With all the options we will give our money to a course more deserving of our business going forward. Typical!!!
