This is such an amazing place! I went with a large group of people to do the axe throwing and it was so much fun. Angela and Adam were staffing our trip and they made sure we were throwing safely, gave us all tips on how to improve our throws and made it a fun experience. There were games we could play while we waited for the whole group to get there like Jenga, checkers and Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots (which I haven't played since I was young). I've never thrown an axe before, but I would definitely do it again at Breakout Belleville. Also, the dog there is super cute.

We escaped from The Travel Agent room:) A nice diversity of thematic puzzles, pleasantly challenging for adults and at the same time suitable (nothing scary or disturbing in either setup or contents) for younger audiences. The owner said they would be changing this room to something new very soon, so I hope to check the new one out!

It was alright. The escape room was pretty low budget considering the price, just one small room, and the puzzles only consisted of opening padlocks. Some of the puzzles didn't feel intuitive at all, and it actually felt like there was no way to know what to do on one of them without getting a hint. I thought the concept for the Travel Agent room was pretty unique and funny so that was a plus. As far as the rooms go, don't expect anything fancy rivaling escape rooms in bigger cities. The staff were very friendly and they are licensed to serve alcohol, which is nice for the axe throwing part of the place, but not really necessary for an escape room. The axe throwing area seems pretty tiny so not sure how that would work out with a big group. Overall it's nice to see that Belleville has a fun place like this, but I think they could definitely step up their game when it comes to creativity and puzzles in the rooms, considering they charge the same amount of money as some of the best rooms I've been to.

I have tried three different rooms here. Their staff really get into it at the beginning which adds to the experience for sure. They're helpful and have some really creative rooms set up. It's a ton of fun!

The facilities at Breakout Belleville are a severe disappointment. To begin with, the axes are very low quality. I was almost injured when one broke during normal use. The long and incoherent safety briefing only served to demonstrate how poorly trained the staff are. Despite claims to the contrary, the staff seem to know very little about axe throwing. The wooden targets were in very poor condition. The targets had multiple holes in them, so the axe would not stay embedded. Breakout Belleville does not appear to be a member of any recognized axe throwing association or sport league. Therefore, it should come as no surprise they also do not use a standardized scoring system or alternative throwing techniques. The ONLY throwing technique they allow is overhead. Whereas, other facilities allow for a variety of throwing options. We also noted one of the staff members was quite rude to customers patiently waiting to be helped. The escape room was terrible! None of the clues were related and it defied all logic. To make things worse, there were leftover clues from previous configurations. The materials used to build the escape rooms looked like they were salvaged from a scrap pile. There was exposed electrical wiring on some of the electrical fixtures which is a significant safety hazard and possibly a violation of building codes. This facility deserves the lowest possible rating 1/5 stars. Not Recommended.

I went here around thanksgiving with my family and we had a sweet time trying to figure out the basement escape room! We got out of the basement with 30 seconds to spare! The girl working told us we were the first team to successfully get out! Regardless if it was true or not it made us all feel extra great! They also have axe throwing which I tried for the first time today! It was super fun! I definitely recommend this place!

Absolutely LOVE this place. There is almost nothing to do on a weekend in downtown Belleville and this place is always rocking!! Atmosphere is amazing and the staff are phenomenal. I have made repeat trips to Breakout Belleville and will make many more. Angela Douglas does an amazing job at designing games and the axe throwing is such a cool and unique activity for downtown. Angie and everyone at Breakout Belleville is phenomenal! I love how challenging and fun each room is. Although we were late for our first time; everything went perfectly. Having a local escape room that is both mentally stimulating and fun is a treat. We cant wait to try the axe throwing next! Some of the rooms may be a little advanced for younger persons.

The escape room was a blast and the base throwing was great. They took the time to explain in detail how to throw the axes and the best techniques. Went with a very large group (14) and only 2 people can go at once so there was a lot of down time.
