I was into the Mapleview store yesterday. Matt helped me find the best deal on golf balls. There was no wait time and I was in and out quickly.

Past the Potholes

Hit and Miss! Overpriced clothing that can be found at Winners or Marshalls for much less and a weak trade-in program. The simulators and the Boxing Day demo sale are the two best parts of this location. Unfortunately, i think that sale has been discontinued. Most of the staff try to be helpful but the many of the younger members tend to lack some of the knowledge to offer good advice regarding equipment. The best employee I've dealt with helped me tape up a dozen drivers to hit in the simulator, measured my results, and encouraged me to come back later in the week to see if anything changed before buying. After that, he told me to bring in my own driver. I hit it a dozen times and he told me to keep it as it was performing better than any of the new models.

My shopping experience today was very good...thus 4 stars. I went into have 6 clubs regripped. Service was efficient and I was in and out in under 25 minutes. I was lucky as they had the grips I wanted in stock...although I got the last of them. Stock is very low due to covid supply chain problems. They hope to get more stock early in the new year. Usually at this point in the season there would be a lot on sale. But being almost the "only game in town" they seem to feel there is no need. Very limited Fall clearance items.

Customer Service from the Store team was poor, the Manager was of assistance. Special ordered clubs, Inquired several times did not get a response was hung up on twice, Finally after a call with the 1-800 number, a manager called me back, said they spoke to ping and that my clubs, which were quoted at 3 weeks turnaround(past that now) had not even left Arizona yet. Not impressed at all with the Customer service here, Will not be returning once my Clubs arrive. If I could i would cancelled the order and ordered directly from Ping themselves.

Large box store with every golf manufacturer of clubs and clothing. They also have a putting area where all the putters are located, as well as an area where you can have clubs fitted at the back of the store. Employees are eager to help, courteous, and easy to get a hold of when you need to find something or have a question. But I found some employees to not be well versed in the various golf products they sell. This wasn't a large problem for me, but this may be a downfall to someone who is new to golf and is looking for some guidance on which products best suit their needs.

I love to golf and can find very few locations in the US or Canada that carries the selection Golf Town does. Can be pricy so you have to do your homework and price shop but usually will start here before I venture to other stores or online. Barrie location has good staff and nice clean store.

I am getting back into golfing after 25 years, to participate to an office golf tournament at the end of the month. Dropped in the Golf Town Gatineau store to kill some time, and look at the golf gear and clothing. Was greeted and helped by a gentleman named Mike Vincent. No pressure, very engaging and knowledgeable. Gave me good advice and even took time to make me hit balls with custom fitted Taylor Made and Ping 7 irons in a simulator. We even chatted about ideas to make golf part of my pre-retirement activities. I definitely have the golf bug back! Great experience this morning. I recommend you ask for Mike next time you visit them.

Hats off to the assistant manager in on Saturdays, I’m sorry I have forgotten his name, but I think it’s time he gets a good promotion. However, like most golf towns, the pricing is far to high for this years and last years clubs. An example being the Rogue driver; $800 here and $650 just about anywhere else.

I was very disappointed with my shopping experience at Golf Town. I was in the store for at least twenty minutes with no associates coming close to asking if I was finding everything or if I needed a hand. I cut my arm on the corner of a sharp plastic fixture. When I got to the check out, the short brunette Bruins fan cashier insisted on making fun of the overpriced ball marker I was buying because it was a Toronto Maple Leafs logo, and then proceeded to do the same when she saw my Maple Leafs hat. Now, I'm all for a little banter amongst hockey fans. Especially Leafs vs. Bruins! But in this case, her opinions, and unprofessionalism were neither needed, or wanted. It was obvious that I wasn't enjoying the exchange and after all the back and forth.. I paid and left, without being given my receipt by the cashier. I normally shop at Sport Chek and Nevada Bob's because as a former employee with friends there, I still get great deals. I went into Golf Town to see what they had to offer and unfortunately from my experience.. wasn't a whole lot.

I had a very positive experience at Golf Town Barrie. After two club fittings at other major fitting studios I had a third one with Bruce at Golftown. It turned out to be he best experience and provided the most comprehensive report on performance. I ordered a custom set of Callaway Rogue Pro Irons and they arrived very quickly. They lost one star because my sand wedge was delayed two weeks. A floor associate, Tom, was very helpful, was very honest in his assessments and went out of his way to provide me with hitting time. The final great feature is that you have a month to hit them and then they will refit in a new club if you are not totally satisfied. No other place had this confidence in their product.
