Beautiful course and friendly staff.
Course was in amazing condition!! Would definitely return.
Beautiful setting, challenging golf, fair prices and great staff. A great get out of way place.
Nice course, and it was in great shape when we played it.
The course is in excellent shape!
Nice course with great customer service. Proshop staff and restaurant are fantastic.
Beautiful place. Just went their for an awesome lunch. Prices are good. Looks like a great place to golf in the foothills , by Bragg Creek.
Overpriced
Beautiful course! Fair price!
Great track and in the mountains.
So I have to say the one star has nothing to do with the staff, all are very nice. The one star is because it is insane for them to charge the prices they do with the greens in the shape they are in. They are absolutely horrible, in fact if i were in charge of these greens I would be embarrassed and probably go bury my head in a sand trap. I remember them being like this last year too, but thought I would give it another shot. I can say absolutely I will never golf here again, which is too bad because the scenery is nice, the greens are not.
It's a tough course for amateur golfers, can lose lotsa balls, but a beautiful course, even if it's a bit pricey!!
Love this course! Evening rates are amazing and get the house burger in the clubhouse after!
Bragg Creek is Incredible.. Alberta's hidden gem.. From the wonderful staff to the Jaw dropping views, the this course is Amazing. In 25mins from Calgary
As a professional DJ I specialize in Weddings and was not sure what to expect my first time performing at the Wintergreen Golf & Country Club. I have to say it was a good experience for me, nice atmosphere, the staff were pleasant, the place was clean, I had main floor entry for easy to load-in, and given early access to set-up for the event. There also was sufficient space for everyone to have a good time.
Very friendly staff.
Very slow. Really need a course Marshall.
Beautiful course.
Real ignorant staff, wouldn’t offer a rain check for last 9.
Overall a fun course; 18 holes is very walkable with a pushcart, although there is some elevation change. Decent value for a ‘mountain’ course. Seems to be well-cared for.
Very good condition and challenging.
Great golf course, difficult to play on due to all the ground water.
Price $90 incl cart, twilight rate. Fairways and greens are in amazing shape! Bunkers were a little wet. Cart girl and marshall on course. Compare $120 for kananaskis and 45 min further, wintergreen is better. Cheers!
The new special is amazing. Yes, there is some winter kill and repairs going on but what do you expect? It's a mountain course and we had a late spring melt. All in all its a great course and fun to play.
Great course and clubhouse
Beautiful scenery. Nice course, good food!
Gorgeous course in Bragg. The new Covid rules are more strict than other courses but that's nice for the safety of everyone. Also don't expect to finish a round in 4 hours or less... They are ALWAYS BEHIND. 95% certain you wont tee off on time which is frustrating. Still love the course even though it's relaxed.
Amazing! It's like being away from all in a beautiful setting. Nicer layout than most mountain courses unknown. Its a haven of heavan. Bring you a spirit.
Great course. Well kept greens. I found them challenging. It made for a good round.
Nice course, will be back.
First time there last week. Great layout, greens nice, great day out.
Always a great round of golf on the foothills.
Have been coming here for years.... gets better with every visit
Beautiful course. $59 twilight round (after 3pm)!! Lots of elevation, but still walkable. Course was in really good shape, bunkers are something to be desired (like hitting off a cart path), still fantastic overall will certainly come back for more. Only real complaint was the club house afterwards, waited quite a while for service, eventually decided to eat in Bragg creek. Plan to make this a regular rotation for the summer.
Nice track and nice to get outta town
Bald Marshall needs attitude adjustment.
So riddle me this...... a green fee of over 100$ for a course you cant drive your golf cart on the fairways. Also the greens that looked and played as if I was putting on a gravel road. Sadly this was just the start of my terrible experience at wintergreen. On hole 18 the last of the day I hit a short tee shot before the fairway so I drove the cart over to my ball. In my backswing for my second shot the marshall comes like a bat out of hell from the woods, and slams on the brake behind me yelling profanities at me and claiming I had been driving over the fairways all day which was simply not true... He started calling me a liar, and then started to threaten me with banishing me from the course for good. Between the disgusting attitude of the Marshall and the over priced golf I will certainly not be back here and will for sure spread the word to ALL I know who golf. CHEERS.
Great course. Beautiful layout in the foothills.
A little out of the way but good golf value and food. The course is well balanced between tough and managable holes with some good elevation changes.
Beautiful course. A very difficult but fun shot across the water in the back-9. A deer came out on the first hole and drank from the little pond where I parked my ball. It was a gorgeous site.
Great course, friendly staff. One of the greens is in need of repair today.
My husband golfed here July 21. The greens are in horrible condition. The audacity of Wintergreen to be charging $130 per round with the course in such rough shape. Total rip off. Will never come here again!
Excellent golf course. Might be my favorite around.
Golf was great on a tough track. Lovely to get out of the city and hear the birds. Only hiccup was at end of round. There was no opener so we sat for about15 minutes with unopened drinks while the server helped other customers.
Usually love playing here but greens are in terrible shape and they are still charging $120 a round.
Great course, beautiful!
Booked a tee time for the wife and I for a Sunday Funday. Course was wet and it was cart path only which made for a longer round. You have to protect the course but the marshalls have to know the rounds and play will be longer with cart path only. Course was in rough shape due to bad winter, lots of greens with new sod on them. It was very expensive to play $260 for two of us with cart. No GPS in carts, back window missing from hail storm last year. Ì play some of the top course in Kelowna so use to paying more for what You get. People are looking for saving with the economy in Alberta right now and think $260 is high for 2 to play. Most courses are $100 cart included so I was surprised to see it so high for the conditions. Had a drink and appy after, staff was friendly but the food was ok. We still had fun but won't go back unless there is deals on or pricing changes, to many courses in the area to get gouged. Solid 3 out of 5. Again staff was really friendly
Simply amazing!
Wintergreen is arguably my favorite course in and around the Calgary area! So beautiful and peaceful. On top of that, the twilight rate of $59 after 3pm is just phenomenal! I don't think there's a better twilight price vs quality course around.. if there is, I'd love to hear about it! I went out last evening after work - despite the rain - and pretty much had the place to myself! I had one group of 4 in front of me, but their pace was amazing.. I only caught up with them a couple times on the front.. didn't even see them on the back. It was raining on the 1st hole.. but then cleared up and I was able to take the jacket off and really enjoy the rest of the round. No one behind me, so I just made my way around at a casual pace and had such a great time playing and listening to/watching the various wildlife. It even ended up being sunny for a good portion. Staff were super friendly.. snack shack was stocked up and had a great selection! Funny little side story.. I duffed my drive on the first tee in front of the marshall. Triple bogey start Next 3 holes (when he wasn't around) par, bogey, par.. On #5 I missed the green to the right, then walk up and skull my chip across the green and over the cart path.. walking over to get it and there's the marshall again. #10.. push my tee shot into the tree line and looking for my ball.. guess who drives by AGAIN?! I smile and wave, but I'm thinking to myself "this guy must think I'm the biggest hack ever".. on #11 I smoke my drive across the pond just short of the 150 yard marker.. then hit my approach onto the green to setup a putt for eagle from like ~40 feet. Walk up and the marshall is sitting there.. I say "FINALLY you're here when I hit a good shot!" and we both had a chuckle. Smash the eagle putt like 10 feet past.. lip out the birdie putt, tap in for a 3 putt par. Sigh. Next time I think I'll need to politely tell him he's bad luck and to stay away.. haha!! Super friendly guy though!
This is a glorious course. Difficult and beautiful. My issue? Golfed 18 , wanted 9 more at 6 pm and was told 'NO'. Course was closed. Was so disappointed.
Pricey, but great experience.
Terrific golf course. Beautiful environment. Well kept course. Really nice staff.
Great Course
Played this course the other day ,feel totally ripped off .This course is in terrible condition and to charge full price is shameful.I realize you had a bad winter and it’s going to take time to get the greens back .But to charge full pop no way it’s 50 bucks in its current shape .I guess I should have checked the recent reviews your staff should have been more upfront.Never be back????
Its OK. But a bit rough around the edges. No water on the course even though the Covid restrictions are more or less relaxed for now. It is time to get back to normality. Before the Delta Variant gets us.
Played the course on June 20th for the first time this season. It's still in pretty rough shape from the winter, greens and quite a few areas along the fairways are in horrible shape. Temporary green at the par 3, 15th (i think it's the 15th but could be wrong). Also some drainage issues in a few green-side bunkers. No mention of this from club house staff, starter, or marshal throughout the round. Still charging full green fees which is unfortunate as most other Calgary area courses have many promotions running for excellent twilight, weekday, and even some weekend rates. I would steer clear of the course until mid July this season as it's nowhere near worth the $$$ ($96 weekday, $120+ weekend with cart). Staff in general are still great, the starter on that day was very pleasant and the marshal checked in regularly to ensure we weren't too bothered by the slow play of the 4 some ahead.
Fantastic Greens, beautiful views, no rushing. Challenging par 5s with lovely par 3s. Food was also excellent.
It's too bad I have to give such a low star review cause I really liked this course in the past. Simply put they just are not up to standard anymore to charge the fees they are charging. Many of the greens were virtually unplayable, reminded me of a par 3 course you would play at the lake but only be charged $30. Hole 11 (which is a great par 5 over the water) had all dirt in front of the green , it was a disaster. when you got on the green the winter kill was bad. The courses in Calgary are in great shape right now, to drive 30 min and be charged $250 for 2 people is a major rip off in my opinion. Rates should be heavily reduced until they get the course into shape. As noted by another reviewer the Covid rules are a little over the top compared to other courses
Greens have not been good all year. Cart path only.
Was there for wedding the best buffet I have ever had food cooked perfectly
good challenging holes. putting greens were in great condition - challenging but fair. some demoralizing holes so bring your wisdom instead of your bronze. because of the difficulty of some holes the round was a little slow on a Friday staff was fun. we used the 8 pack and got a great deal! warm up facilities were also very nice nearby the first tee box.
I hadn’t played this course in about 15 years because it was in such bad shape and brutally expensive then. I gave it the old college try about 6-8 weeks ago and it was in horrible shape then but I like the layout so we decided to try it again. Mistake!!! A course like this should be $40 with cart. Not a penny more. - overall terrible conditions - carts are brutal, no back window for whatever reason. - cart path only - greens are in terrible shape but they were punched and top dressed two days ago. They didn’t mention that when booking - we intended to play 18 but quit after 9 because it is that bad...we love golf and play at the Winston, Kananaskis, Sirocco, Serenity, Inglewood, Banff Springs and Speargrass a lot. All of these are 500% better than Wintergreen. - Marshall was a jerk. - No bag drop area Positives - guys in pro shop were good - practice area is nice but the balls are brutal. - scenic drive (skip the golf and go for the drive) I’ll try again in 15 years...maybe...
Great course and club house. Golf can get quite slow at times but the beer cart will come by soon enough to alleviate the boredom ????
A great course with challenging but fair layout. Greens were receiving and in great condition for mid to late season. Staff we're friendly and helpful and food was top quality. I would recommend Wintergreen to other golfers as a great option for a great day of golf.
Second, nine took over 3hours. Great course but the course marshall and staff need to make sure rules are enforced.
Great course! Multiple feature holes
Highly over rated and over priced. Zero pace of play being enforced. After a long wait, We finally tee’d off on the first hole 30 min past our booked tee time because they were so behind. How does that even happen on the first tee? Especially when there’s an employee there sitting at the first tee who is supposed to be making sure they are staying on schedule. We then waited 10 plus minutes every hole just to tee off. The group ahead of us seemed like it was there first time playing golf and the marshal that came around a few times did and said nothing to get them to pick up the pace. In the end it took us 6 hours to play 18 holes which is ridiculous for $100 course. Scenery was okay but the design of the course conditions of the fairways and greens were bad. I had high hopes but this was my first and last time ever playing this course. Save yourself the drive and money, go play somewhere else.
Fun layout, great conditions. Nice to get out of the city. The golf course superintendent is a great guy doing a great job. Friendly Caddy Shack staff
Have been coming back for 20 years
Last year, they had some patchy greens but most were in good condition today. $70 weekend twilight rate starts at 3, $20 for cart. Cart girl came by a few times, where other courses stopped after 6 pm. The sand traps were not soft, like Darcy ranch. Construction on hwy 8 by River spirit course, so kind of a hassle getting out there.
What a great day, not to far from the city with an amazing feel to it. Lots of great raised tee boxes, nice and challenging but not overly hard. They have a chipping, putting and driving practice area on the way to the first tee and it's all complimentary. It was well taken care of and the club/ restaurant is a very cool space. Although I'm sure we wouldn't have had such a good experience if it weren't for the staff, great bunch out there. I am sure I will be going back again.
Beautiful course! Lots of trees, and a nice layout. I look forward to going back.
Tougher than it looks but a great course. Carts on pathway only though, but a good thing as fairways are always in ideal shape
Great scenery. Worth the drive out there. Great practice facilities. Intimidating starting hole. Why would they do that? But overall great experience.
Hidden gem
The course is fantastic. In pretty good shape with some new greens. Upper price level. Always a treat for me when I go.
Nice shape
Wow.great golf
Wonderful course! So quiet as there are not houses/communities surrounding the area, just endless forest! The half off Mondays is an amazing deal
Great track
Everything was top shelf.
Great mountain style golf course close to Calgary.
Nice course, great staff.
Really nice golf course that had enough to challenge the better members of our foursome while not overwhelming the poorer players. Nice greens and long varied fairways. We played with a coupon as the rack rate is over $100...I don't think I'd return at full price but happy to play at 2 for 1.
Great challenging course.
Lovely day golfing, well tended.
The staff make all the difference and the course is well maintained.
Not sure there is a better value for your money this close to calgary. A challenging well maintained course with lots of variety. One of my favourite spots to play.
This place is just like Glencoe Golf & Country Club..... but for poor people. Very similar in design but a little rougher around the edges. Greens are patchy but quick. A couple of forced carries off the tee break up the course nicely. Good pace of play considering it was backed up. A solid 3 outta 5 course.
