You know that we do not usually bother to put evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Golf is classified in the category of Golf course.
I've golfed this course and I must say it is probably the worst golf course I've ever played. The fairways are too tight, the houses are not too close to the fairway to be safe. It would be very easy for someone to get hurt. Even the best golfer doesn't always hit it straight. Definitely not a place for a beginner or intermediate and a good golfer wouldn't enjoy this course either. I highly do not recommend this course. In addition to all this, the marshal was very unprofessional and was using very colourful language during our interactions with each other.
Couldn't have asked for a better venue to build our honeymoon around. Stayed in an AirBnB right on the course, and we couldn't be happier. From the Pro Shop, to the restaurant, to the overall community atmosphere, this has been a fantastic experience so far. Definitely recommend!
Love the view
Great course. Don’t let the yardage fool you.
I ordered take away as I have elderly parents that can’t go into the restaurant. When I arrived at the restaurant I told a girl working there to pick up food and I waited. 15 minutes pass and I no one checks on me or my food until I finally ask. All three of the girls working there deny having taking the order even though I heard them repeat it to the kitchen over the phone when I’d called. Terrible customer service especially given that it wasn’t busy in the restaurant. While waiting I also noticed all of the teenage staff constantly pulling their masks down every time they turned their backs to a table. Even if Covid wasn’t a concern that’s just gross and unhygienic.
Great course and beutiful club house and patio
2017 course is in great shape, good work gang. Restaurant has good food and friendly service. We are owner's and happy to be here.
good course
Nice course. Great condition. Challenging holes. Good food at the clubhouse. Only complaint, hot dogs at snack shack, ????. Would definitely play again.
Great food, & friendk service. Prices average.
Awesome course I love to go back
As a long time owner in the community, I've eaten at the restaurant multiple times over the years. Hats off to the current chef, the meals are fantastic!! Servers are lovely. My only complaint is they are not open for breakfast! Maybe that will change in the future! Well done!
A lovely place to spend time with family. Golfing and water activities abound.
What a great place to live! Summer and winter!
Clean, well maintain. Peaceful. Friendly. Like the lake.
Beautiful campgrounds, very very well taken care of with lots of family activities.
What an awesome experience it has been at Whispering Pines for both of us. From a simple play and stay to looking forward to moving into our new home and enjoying the wonderful clubhouse and all the other amenities offered. From day one Mike and all the staff have been outstanding. Dave & Sheila Chapman.
It was beautiful. Course in excellent condition. The food and drinks after was fantastic. Our waitress was very good. I would recommend this course to anyone
Delicious chicken tenders, top fries around
We love that we moved to Whispering Pines 5 years ago! We are now part of a community that we very comfortably call home. ❤️ It’s so awesome to see everyone hanging out together for socials and embrace the new comers year after year!
Great scenery and the golf course played very well...
Good buffet and fantastic patio overlooking the lake. Price on the course was a bit high but overall not bad
Nice course. The tee boxes and greens could use some love though.
Peaceful
The Whispering Pines clubhouse is great on every level. Beautiful view of the lake, the food is amazing, and the staff has always been kind. Their coffee is the best.
Love the lake and our trip on a boat was very refreshing!
Good golf course and Restaurant
Great fishing derby
Amazing place with great people and a fantastic family atmosphere!
Was a 5 year member while I had a trailer in the area. Golf pro Jeff is amazing and the staff enjoys knowing their golfers personally. Will always return there to golf.
We started our experience at Whispering Pines in 2005 when we bought our lot. For the first 7 years it was home for our RV. In 2012 we decided to build our retirement home at Whispering Pines and move out there full time. The amazing people we met there solidified our decision. There is a tremendous sense of family amongst all the residents at Whispering Pines. We enjoy the golf, the close knit community, the sense of belonging, as well as the tremendous staff at Whispering Pines. The entire staff, golf course grounds keeping, Pro Shop, mainetence, restaurant, sales, are all very professional and helpful. I cannot think of a better place in Alberta to enjoy our retirement. Rob and Cindy Pols
Good food, good scenery , and good prices…
It's a nice course and we managed to scored a great deal on golf now. I even ended buying a new wood in the small proshop! The course can be a bit tight in areas but it's a great play
I cant say enough great things about Whispering Pines. The pride that the grounds crew has in maintaining the course and trying to keep the grass in pristine shape is one to behold. The Pines restaurant has some great pre/post game food to keep your appetite at bay; I highly recommend the steak sandwich, as it is a personal favorite and a staple during men's night.
Was going golfing and my 8 year old son came along since he is getting into golf. He was just going to ride along and not play. I was told no kids on the course because I won't be able to control my child on the course. I felt that was a very rude thing to say to me...and yes I can control my child thanks. I will never come back here. I will support golf courses that promote children to start golfing.
The course is getting better every year, however, those benefits come with a price. The home owners seem to have forgotten that it is a golf course and not a dog park. On more than one occasion I have come over a ridge to see a couple walking their dogs, totally oblivious to the fact that hard objects are flying sometimes in control, but equally out of control.
The daily special on a Saturday wasn’t so special. Chef needs to focus on the amount of food coming out rather than the appearance. Not enough on the plate and I left hungry. Really disappointed as we were really looking forward to a nice meal on the lake. Won’t be back for a while.
This course I really love because it is never over busy. It's a very well groomed relaxed atmosphere course where anyone can enjoy the game. Love the lake views and duck ponds too.
Further details for context of my review. Shortly after we arrived for our noon-ish tee-time we learned that the drink/food cart was being cancelled for the day since it was too slow on the course. Understandable if it's slow, don't want anyone wasting their time. However we saw people golfing on every hole in front of us the whole day. The balls and mats at the driving range are very worn out and old. Definitely needs to be replaced with new equipment. The course overall was in good condition considering it's basically end of season. It would be great though if they built in some raised platforms with stairs so you can see the blind spots for your tee shots on some of the holes. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a challenge but I don't enjoy the fear of hitting someones home/RV. Circling back to the drink/food cart - farther into our round we learned that the halfway house was closed as well. The sign said that they weren't supposed to be closed until 4pm, but we arrived there at 3:20. Just because the cart closes down doesn't mean the halfway house should. The bathrooms in the halfway house were also closed so we needed to find one of the out-houses on the course instead.
One of the goofiest layouts I’ve ever played.
The kitchen staff don't care about what they are serving. Had to send a simple steak sandwich back.
Amazing course to road trip too. Many local members are friendly that puts the nerves at ease.
We sat on the deck by the water. Very relaxing. Food was great! Service was great! Location was great. Prices were on the higher end for a nicer restaurant which is not surprising.
Wonderful
Did not golf, had lunch it was very good
Great golf. Great food
Lovely resort and nice golf course
My friends golfed 18 holes and I walked the first o with them. Looks like a great course. Had supper at the club and was really good.
Best service staff ever
I fell over but other than that it was awesome
Excellent!!
Great food and service
Me and my two daughters went there to golf today. We were looking to play nine holes, since my kids are 4 and 6. When we go I play normal golf and when I get out by the green I drop a ball for the kids to chip and putt out. They have there own clubs, and I was willing to pay what ever the green fee/cart would be for them. The man in the pro shop told me I can't bring little kids on the course, but maybe on a weekday in the afternoon. It's currently Monday at 4:30pm. I checked the tee times online before I went and there wasn't a single one booked for this evening and I kinda hope it stays like that for a long time. I won't be returning
Now here is a challenging golf course. Not long but many fairways marked with various hazards that come into play. Accuracy off the tee box is paramount. Course is heavily treed with several water hazards. Fun to play.
I am an owner so my opinion is biased. We love it out here, lake, golf, location, it is a wonderful place to have a resort property.
Whispering Pines started out as a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, go camping and enjoy a game of golf. As time went on it became so much more. We now call this piece of paradise “home”. We have seen it grow into a vibrant community of like minded people who enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness of country life. Each year brings new construction, new activities and with it new excitement. We have a clubhouse that provides food fit for a king, a pool, hot tub and workout room to enjoy...a playground for our children to meet new friends... a lake to enjoy water sports and fishing.... and most important a golf course with a driving range and putting green that gets better and better each year due to the diligent workers who maintain it. Who could ask for more!
Always a great atmosphere, we have been enjoying the Sunday breakfast here (and Mother’s Day brunch) for years. I find the golf course challenging and the pro shop very helpful. I look forward to this place all winter long.
Fantastic pizza and wings ! Highly recommended !
Well kept, friendly community. Beautiful view of lake off balcony at bar/ dining area. Menu and food good at restaurant. Have group activities if want to participate. Information given was presented in manner to see if this is a community you would like to be part of (not like time share presentations). Amenities clean and up to date. Golf course well manicured and greens tricky for me. Had a very enjoyable time!
Great restaurant, nice relaxed atmosphere, high quality food.
We have owned our property at Whispering Pines since 2005. We have thoroughly enjoyed every minute there, whether it was on the golf course, the lake or in our own backyard. We look forward to many more years of enjoyment. Brian & Barb Magill Calgary, AB
We played there couple weeks ago with our friends. We’re not impressed about the golf course.. the lady at the pro shop never smile.. carts only on the fairway not on the roughs. We played a lot of beautiful courses in Calgary better courses than Whispering Pines. We’ve been told stay only on the rough not on fairways.. Not going back there again.
Excellent meal with great service.
Really nice place prices reasonable restaurant and lounge very nice atmosphere
Parents have a spot here. I like the casual atmosphere.
Great help with instructions to s nearby picnic area
Beautiful course. Its challenging but the greens were a mess! There were actual dirt/sand patches on some of them. If they fix the greens so your ball doesn't hop across the green on it's way to the hole, it would be a great golf experience. I'm hoping this is just a temporary thing because I want to go back as the rest of the course is phenomenal!
Received an offer of free stay and play. When I went to enter dates etc. the website would not accept, so why offer if you will not accept.
Great service,friendly and great veiws
After spending more than a decade camping on Pine Lake, we decided to take the plunge and purchase a home in Whispering Pines. We’re so happy with our decision! The golf is great, amenities are convenient, our boat is a short golf-cart ride away from our home and our neighbours are the best!
Service staff for restaurant and such were very polite. One gentleman was very rude when inquiring about rentals for the courses. Otherwise amazing course and beautiful sites and very polite community.
We went there for lunch. The view from the patio was awesome, server was friendly, food was ok.
Good food excellent service quiet and relaxing.
Awesome wonderful course great value. Nice people. Definitely worth the trip
Course is in great shape ,greens need some moisture to get back to the way they have been in the past . Always a good challenge for a person priced real good for a person will be going back again
Fantastic golf course! Especially on the weekday specials ????
RV lots available for sale at very reasonable prices.
