This is the longest golf course of the city of Calgary public courses. The course is pretty open and great for playing with the driver. The tees seem to be pretty rough this 2021 season, they cut the grass too short.

NIce course to play, Par 3 - 9 Hole is nice for a quick pitch-and-putt game. The 18 hole is challenging. The course is next to the airport, so you'll get planes flying over all the time.

The course itself is great. Plenty of challenging holes with well groomed greens and fairways. The clubhouse staff during the morning shift on the Saturday ruined the overall experience and initial tee off for my group setting the pace for an uneasy and challenging day for all the wrong reasons. The grounds people and afternoon clubhouse staff made up for the way my group was treated to begin with but not enough for me to change my mind, or my groups mind, about this experience. The way in which they looked down on my group, made us feel unwelcome, and unworthy of playing on this particular course.

Not bad! We played the "preview" 9 holes before it reopened for real. The tee boxes and greens are fantastic. Some short par 4's slow things down as us "power hitters" *ahem* feel we need to wait for the group ahead to completely finish lest we tee off onto the green. All in all, a nice course for a muni.

Every now and then you’ll hear an airplane fly over your head, which is kinda cool at first but it gets a little irritating later on when you’re setting yourself up to make one banger of a shot, and then an airplane roars right over your head and makes you lose your concentration

I was here a few years ago with my boyfriend, and two other friends. The day was so perfect and beautiful. I love how clean the place was and the space for golfing is almost perfect. I don't golf that often but this is where my boyfriend and his friends go every summer to have a good game !

Not the best maintenance and the clubhouse is dirty and old but good experience and friendly staff make it fun and the low prices and par 3 make it a good place for kids and beginners. You can show up in Jeans and a T-shirt and that's ok there. Driving range prices are pretty regular.

Totally butchered the Reno. Turned a good Course that needed a lift into an awful one. Didnt put money into any of the right places and it looks like they ran out of money to finish. Brutal. I used to play this course all the time but won't play at all anymore.

I watched a gang of three old people walk on to my fairway kick my ball and proceeded to put it in their golf bag. Upon confronting them about what they just did the lady in the bucket hat and wal-mart sun glasses proceeded to say “just drop a ball, that’s what we do”. Overall horrible experience would not recommend to anyone at all. Shut this place down.

I’m more than impressed with the changes they made on this course. I played it prior and there is no comparison IMO. it’s not just the new layout but the course is in great shape, some of the best greens in the city. again it’s subjective but I have nothing but praise.

This is one of the shorter courses in Calgary and so it is a great spot for beginners and young players. The first nine surround McCall Lake and offer a variety of water obstacles to work around. Most of the course is flat and it is well maintained. Green fees are very reasonable. We visited in August 2020 and a great deal of the course is quite dry - understandable on account of the weather, of late. Although typically the air traffic is persistent, this is less of a concern as fewer flights are leaving or arriving from YYC.

Being accused of not paying! Golfed on Sept 23rd tee time was 10:20 am. Unfriendly staff especially the two ladies at the cashier taking our payment. Very rude and not welcoming. We booked for a group of 4 checked in 4 ppl. 2 individuals paid separately and 1 individual paid for 2 people (him and his wife) Soon after we teed off on our first hole, Marshall approached us and claimed 1 person in our group didn't pay. At the same time she had one of the cashiers on her radio walkie talkie! We clearly showed our receipts and proof of payment. Marshall clarified that everything was okay, but the cashier lady on the radio still needed to be proven wrong as to she still believes on of us did not pay. However the Marshall let us play on. After the 9th hole, Marshall approaches us AGAIN and told us we have to go back inside the house to clear up the unpaid individual. Clearly this is the second time....and its holding us back! We spotted one of the ladies having her cancer stick outside the door and confronted her about this entire issue. She recognized us and remembered us paying and did not see what the issue was. Again wasted our time and we did not appreciate being accused (TWICE) when we clearly had proof of payment.

Five stars on bang for buck on this one. There are still some ongoing repairs/upgrades at time of writing, but well worth the stop. Nice open fairways to bomb big drives, greens were fast and in great shape, and some aesthetically really nice holes. Good clubhouse for a public course. I will be back.

The golf course is great, had an awesome experience playing out on fairways. It is a little over priced for sure. Great staff up until we left. We played a group of 4 and finished right at closing time walking off the course. We tried to add up our scores before hopping in our vehicles to leave. And both employees starting yelling at us from a distance to “hurry up” and “come on let’s go” in a rude manner. So we didn’t talley up our scores and was rushed out of there. For that very reason I will never step foot on that course again.

Course was substantially revamped last year, some good changes, but, installation of sod was not well done. Pace of play today was very slow, 5 hours, partially due to very hot conditions, but also due to lack of hold knowledge in group ahead of us.

If you are a beginner golfer, or someone who is looking to improve your short game, it is hard to beat the bang for buck here at the par 3 course. The 18 hole course is under renovation until 2019, but until then you bave the par 3 9-hole course, where every hole is 130 yards or less. Only a couple water hazards exist. Very cheap rounds. Additionally, there is a driving range and a putting/chipping green for your practicing needs.

The city nailed this course in their renovations. It has a very high quality practice facilities. Chipping, putting and driving ranges are all first rate facilities. The fairways are wide open and conducive to the beginner and intermediate golfers skills. The only low point is the club house. It offers a rudimentary food and drink fair and basically nothing else. They offer no incentive to attract golfers to stay and use the beautiful deck.

My partner and I are beginners so we decided to try McCall Lake Par 3, as they market themselves as the place to go for beginners and families, even nicknaming themselves as the “home of family golf”. We were disappointed when we showed up and found out otherwise. We were told that we had to pair up with another couple (strange considering COVID and everything) and that we had to rush. The whole experience was very abrupt and unwelcoming. We were told we should get lessons. We ended up just going to the driving range and being “penalized” for cancelling our tee time. Just beware, if you are a beginner do not go to this course.

I love this place. Staff is awesome, free chipping and putting green anytime, cheap par 3 that plays great and isn't over crowded. A great place to just nip out and get in a few holes when you can, close to home and tons of fun. Definitely recommend to others. :)

We were asked what our tee time was at least six times while playing our round by, who I assume is supposed to be the course marshal, which also appeared to be six different people wearing hard hats. None of these people seemed concerned about the fact that there was a group of four in front of us that had no course etiquette and were taking forever while not allowing anyone to play through. It was the longest most torturous round I have ever played in my life. If you are an experienced golfer, don't waste your money. If you are an inexperienced golfer maybe this is the place for you. Highly over priced, grounds are unkempt (weeds, more weeds, bare areas, crispy greens). A government or city entity should clearly never run a golf course. Too much money spent on employees and no money spent of basic upkeep let alone improvements.

Solid city course, definitely has some grooming issues but those are to be expected on a high-use public course in such a location. Starting staff need to work on organizing the golfers better. Bumping two 4-player walking groups ahead of a carting twosome really makes for a slow day.

Unfortunately, whomever the city used for the "redesign" butchered the course. Most of the changes were unnecessary with the best example being changing the green complex and its location on hole 6. Many parts of the course look as though an amateur put them together, the fairway on hole 2 is super bumpy. This was my favourite of the city courses, but I will not return for a few years to let the course mature.

The course is in a sad condition, is there a greens keeper? The weeds all over the fairways and in sand traps, the greens poorly maintained. It is over a year now that the golf courses doing better than ever, and yet in the city courses the maintenance is almost non existing. It is time for the city officials to visit some of these places, elections are coming soon, and they must have answers for many things and additionally for the neglect in the city golf courses.

Poor management, poor signage. We were constantly trying to figure out where the cat hole was because there was very little for direction signage and we were placed with another group of two with no considerate warning when we paid and there was no one behind us. They could have easily had the other couple golf the next tee time. There was also a group ahead of us that were waiting on friends and late for their tee time and they refused to let us switch times so they could wait for their friends. They went as a twosome and were extremely slow, and the Marshall was never around to speed them up. I would not pay the $150 again to play, considering we were told we had a “late night” tee time and they charged full price
