This Golf belongs to the category of Golf course.
Sorry course was closed, didn't matter, wildlife viewing was spectacular! Just driving around here was amazing!
Always an unreal experience. Have the pleasure of playing here a couple times a year, and its always first class. Be aware of early season tee times, the elk can sometimes get the best of some of the fairway grass, but just adds to the experience (especially if you have to wait for them to leave the fairway to tee off!) June and July will give postcard views on every tee box, while August and September will bring some great weather.
Golf was great food kinda meh
Awesome views and challenging holes
Fantastic late season golfing. The course was in immaculate condition.
One of the best golf experiences in Canada. A must play if you are an avid golfer.
This was an absolute waste of time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I went there with my family, expecting to have a fun leisurely day of golfing. It was my husband’s first time golfing, so we thought let’s give him the best experience and go all …
Perfect
Classic course !!!
Fabulous course - it was a bright, sunshiny day and course conditions were great.
This is the best course in the Rockies if not the world. It is worth every penny spent and we'll be back every year.
An exceptional course.
Incredible views, wildlife, and easy course. You pay for the view so make sure you take lots of pictures.
Great course, staff are amazing, greens are fast. Thank you
A very scenic course, you can get the scenery for free anywhere in the mountains. At 250.00 bucks per player we thought we would treat ourselves to a premier round. The fairways and greens were in nice shape. For that price EVERYTHING, should be in exceptional condition. The majority of the sand traps are terrible with many large rocks though out. Watch you don't ruin a club in them. Fairmont resorts needs to step up the conditions to suit the premium ticket price and match the Fairmont name. A nice day but, still a little disappointing.
This is the best course I have ever played on and I would play it again in a heartbeat. The reason why I put a one star is because they made us wear collared shirts. Which isn't a big problem, but I wasn't wearing mine as I forgot it at our hotel. They never told us when we booked two weeks prior to wear collared shirts or when we paid at the pro shop. Instead they told us with less than 5 minutes of our tee time. So, we had to buy $50 golf shirts from the pro shop just so we could play. We aren't from Alberta and were on vacation, so we bit the bullet. And I had to buy a shirt that I almost completely hate, bc their xl shirts were small. Completely unprofessional and downright unacceptable. Fair warning.
Worked here in the summer of 2018 on the turf staff. One of the best courses I've had the pleasure of working at and playing! The 4th and 15th holes are my favorite. Watch out for the elk! Especially on holes 5-9 and most of the Tunnel 9. Must golf at least once in your lifetime if you are a fan of the game!
(Translated) By far the most beautiful field I have played in my life. I recommend it to everyone! …
So good....great course...big mountains....some moose too!!!
Pretty course and course condition. But tiny golf shop, crowded reception and near absent Starter, $250 "golf package" = just the Stanley Thompson 18 + cart + small bucket golf balls from an empty machine (no balls), restaurant closed to special event, snack shop just Nathan's hot dogs and no trash bins, disorganized and crowded due to over-packing special groups, misinformed on everything, van service from hotel not courteous, friday Aug 25, 2017, pro nicely tried to address my complaints but basically no action, to correct basic herding issue, worst check in, in 50 years.
Course in great condition. Challenging from the tips when trade wind is blowing, makes some long par 3s and par 4s on back nine. Views were great!
Beautiful course with amazing views. Loved it!!
This should be a much higher review, but with our experience this past weekend I need to post this. The course itself is absolutely amazing, well maintained and the views are second to none. It is challenging, yet forgiving at the same time, and you always have a great lie. The staff for the most part were very accommodating, and the grounds are kept in impeccable condition. To the bad: We were a group of 11 guys who booked three times for a bachelor party and we were treated very poorly by the course marshals. I don't want to believe that they just saw the term bachelor party and thought the worst, but that is what I think happened. They followed one of our groups for 4 holes, constantly told another group to keep pace when they were actually waiting at the majority of the holes and threatened our last group with getting security to kick them off the course. At 235$ per person, we essentially gave the club in excess of $2500 (once you include beverages). I do not think we should have been treated like this at all. The assumption about our group was completely wrong and actually lead our final group to skip holes. It is too bad that I am writing this as everything else was amazing..
Overpriced due to location. The people are super nice, but just can't get over the price tag. This would be a muni course elsewhere.
Definitely the best course I have golfed. The staff is great!!
I didn't have time to try the course but tried out the driving range. It has the most amazing views with Rundle Mountain for a backdrop. The staff was amazing and friendly and I look forward to trying the course in the future.
It’s away a treat to play here. The golf course is in the best condition I have ever played it. 1st class service from the drive in to departure.
Beautiful course with amazing views of the Rockies
Great course, amazing scenery. Worth the fees.
Saw large herds of elk at ⛳
For 300$ (which I didn't pay thank god) this course is overpriced. Go play silvertip, or Stewart Creek instead. In terms of golf quality, the course is outstanding. Stay out of the sand if you want to score low (I did not stay out of the sand lol. Probably had 10 bunker outs yesterday hahah)
Renowned for its panoramic beauty, The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course, rated 5-1/2 stars, is a captivating and challenging layout set in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Played in two nine-hole loops (with a third nine, the Tunnel course, also available), the opening holes set the scene for this spectacular Stanley Thompson design.
Super poor experience. Overpriced due to The condition and unpleasan staff. we paid full prices Only 4 holes were played and heavy rain started. the staff said Ok for the rain cheque by phone. BUT they only gave us a front 9 voucher when we back to pro shop. More disgusting thing that when we finished front 9 the day after. we didn't get way out because first time been this course. the marshal catch up us and doubted we try to continue play. make me Uncomfortable feeling . if you would round at rock mountain view the Slivertip or stewart creek golf far more better compare this banff spring course.
This course in great condition
Banff springs golf course. We got a deal at half price, so definately worth it. Greens were slow, compated to Bearspaw in calgary. The views are amazing, we saw an elk on one hole. Bad note - The sand traps are rocky and can damage your clubs. Holes 17&18 are by the road to get in and out, can get hit by golfers. Kananaskis course is alot better value for $100 round.
????????????????
This is a bucket list course. Incredible scenery, outstanding weather. Would highly recommend a reservation.
Every hole is framed by beautiful mountain views. The golf course has wide generous fairways and soft receptive greens. It's an okay course but I didn't feel it was worth the price, there are better courses in the area for the price.
Great course, amazing scenery.
Most overrated golf course I've ever played. The views are spectacular however the course layout is nothing special much like Bear Mountain. It was in horrendous shape when we played. I don't know how this course is ranked so high. Greywolf is a far superior course.
We had a great holiday and the accommodations were excellent, the room had breath taking views.
Good times
Beautiful mountain course and a very nice course for low handicap players. Most mountain courses are pretty, but poor design. Stanley Thompson design course means great challenge from the course.
The Best !
Absolutely stunning course with amazing service. Seriously, I told the staff I golf better tipsy and then there was a beer waiting for me next to the tee box on the next hole. Only criticism is that it’s very expensive, but perhaps that’s Stanley Thompson’s fault and not the actual ownerships issue. Also, almost guaranteed you’ll see wildlife. So if you’re not into hikes but want to get the Banff experience you can hit two birds (and maybe birdies) with one stone.
Bucketlist
Absolutely fantastic staff, course was in gorgeous condition and the experience was majestic! I'll be back next year for sure.
Great customer service, nice facilities and an wonderful golf course in an incredible setting make this a must do golf experience.
On Roy’s pga tour this golf course was hard
Elk on the fancy golf course. So cool!
Nice golf course but very expensive.
Breathtaking views and perfectly maintained well worth the price
A classic course..I like the original 18 hole layout. .#1 started at the hotel..play it at least 1 time in your life..
Beautiful but very cold and rainy today.
Beautiful historic location with fantastic services, great views of the mountains from each room
Our group had the best time out at the Banff Springs golf course. As a group of 15, with separated tee times throughout the afternoon, the Pro Shop and the Starter were able to move some things around to get us out in four consecutive tee times. Really appreciate the staff doing that for us (on July 24, 2021). Of course, the golf course itself, and the scenery, are second to none. Great experience!!!!!!
(Translated) Nice land but the price is excessive (Original) …
Exceptional views ???? must visit if you like Golf and scenery ????
Didn't play, but saw 19 elk!
The course is absolutely gorgeous, the greens are always perfect, the views are spectacular, there’s often wildlife around too. The devils cauldron (4th) is by far my favourite hole. Definitely worth the trip out. My first experience there was unfortunately a bit negative due to the actions of an employee but we were invited to come back and the experience was all positive this second time around. I’m happy to update my review to reflect that. Best course I’ve played and would love to come back soon. Thanks guys!
So many elk! The bulls were bugaling.
Greens are already in incredible shape for May - great job to the maintenance team!
Consistent greens, unreal views, great condition, fairway rough thick, plays like a beauty, a million bunkers. 5stars.
The staff especially the starters are amongst the rudest people I’ve met at a golf course. It was not at all what you would expect from a “prestige” course. The way they treated my wife was embarrassing. The course is overrated for the price, as there are a number of other courses in the area that will be able to serve you better. I do not recommend this course.
Amazingly beautiful. Worth every penny.
Beautiful golf course and extremely well maintained. Has got to be one of the prettiest golf courses in the world with its mountain views and wildlife. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.
Views, service and greens were all excellent. Unfortunately the many bunkers are gone to waste and quite costly on wedges. You think you picked out the many AND very large rocks, but once you make a swing, major damage is done from rocks under the surface. Incredibly disappointing for a Stanley Thompson design which charges more then 200$ to play. It hurts me to say this as I have looked forward to this round most of my adult life, Save your money and go to other courses in the region that won’t cost you the green fee plus 2 top of the line wedges.
A great day all around. Every hole a masterpiece. kudos to all the staff and special notes to Dave, who greeted us as we pulled in. Bobbie who served us at breakfast. Carolyn who gave us a royal announcement just before we teed off. Shane …
Best course I've ever played at. Challenging but the views are unbelievable.
Unmatched views! One of the worlds best. An incredible Stanley Thompson design. An absolute must if you are in the west and love mountain golf!
Gorgeous golf course.
One of the best golf experiences in Canada. A must play if you are an avid golfer.
One of the best in Canada for several reasons. Go and play it, you won't regret it or forget it.
Beautiful course, well-maintained, amazing scenery... I had so much fun! Definitely coming back! If you're a golfer and staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs, this is a must!
what a nice view to get a "hole in one" :-)
Great views, nice course, and just an overall great golf experience in the middle of the Banff mountains. Only let down is the price which is a bit steep for regular players and tourists.
Great course and amazing weather today.
Besides the actual golf, the rest of our experience was a little disappointing. For starters, there was nowhere for us to park, I have been to other courses paying $250 for the round and experienced valet service. While valet was not something I necessarily expected, I did expect a place to park, and that was something that in our experience, was not provided. Instead, we were instructed to park on the road, resulting in a fairly decent walk back to the clubhouse... Off to a bad start. The bag drop area was really small and again, nowhere to really park temporarily to unload without blocking traffic. Luckily we were able to be quick enough where we stopped but it was just awkward. And again, no one at the bag drop area to assist, or tell us where to take a cart or load clubs in the cart. The driving range was off of mats, which although they were in really good condition, I did expect to be practising off of grass at a higher-end course. The outdoor food area was very small and felt cheap. We came early to try and enjoy lunch and a view and while the food was excellent, there really wasn't much of a view. The line up for food was really long, and because the line up was really long, we didn't feel like we should come back at the turn to restock or grab snacks and drinks. A long line up after 9 could have caused us to slow down the pace of play which was fairly strictly referred to on our golf cart as something held to high importance. The actual golf was good. And I am trying to be unbiased as to the rest of my experience. The practice green rolled like the rest on the course, fast and fun! The greens were in excellent condition and the course was well laid out. Nothing weird or quirky but lots of variation and excitement. I did expect the rest of the maintenance to be of a little higher standard. Again, when playing other courses with prices of $250 I am usually blown away at the meticulous care of the fairways. The fairways were just good. Not great or outstanding like I expected... just good. All in all the golf was fun and enjoyable once we finally got going and shook off the rest of what was the start of our experience. And although I would like to try the course again I just can't see my self doing so. This is a $120 dollar coarse. And I've had better experiences arriving at a course where I pay $60 to play. I wish I could say I was more impressed, because I did sure expect to be. I would say it is probably a course that is worth trying, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it is worth your money.
Pretty good condition for this early in the season.
One of the best
The Golf Course is wonderful and the scenery is spectacular
One of the most scenic places to spend time. Staff are all super friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful time!
A beautiful golf course with Mount Rundle looming overhead.
Absolutely stunning course. Best to get on when there is some type of discount though
Beautiful course
Perfect place for golf lovers..
There isn't a better course for views. And they care so much about your experience that you literally can't have a bad time. Course is immaculate. 6/5 stars
It's all about the views. Beautiful.
Beautiful golf course. Very easy layout.
(Translated) Play while looking at the best scenery. (Original) 最高の景色を見ながらのプレーです。
What a beautiful place “Bucket List” great golf course “Stanley Thompson” Gorgeous Mountain View’s, great condition, friendly helpful staff. Spectacular golf experience ????????
You couldn't ask for a more beatutiful setting. The course has its challenges without being ridiculous. It is very well run and maintained. There are marshals to keep play moving. It is an expensive course but worth saving up for once in a while. There are special prices from time to time.
Amazing Golf Experience!
Four stars due to rocks inside bunkers and artificial hitting mats at the driving range. I now have a damaged wedge and could not warm up properly. Overall 9/10 however. Views are great, service was prompt, turff conditions while raining were great. Course layout is fairly easy and fun. If I had to pick one course to play while visiting the area, it would be Silvertip before Banff Springs.
Our dinner was great and service was even better. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Stunning...! I've golfed my whole life all around the world at top rated courses but Banff is still my favorite. The history, the course conditioning, the historic designs, all fantastic. Can't beat the panoramic views of the Canadian Rockies Captivating
Incredible course. Gorgeous mountain views everywhere. Easily in the top 5 courses that I have played. Surprisingly only holes 2, 4 and 15 had elevation changes. It's quite flat for a mountain course.
Beautiful and good food
Absolutely stunning views! Skeeters are no joke make sure to bring big spray!
This was an absolute waste of time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I went there with my family, expecting to have a fun leisurely day of golfing. It was my husband’s first time golfing, so we thought let’s give him the best experience and go all out. We thought we would share our clubs, it’s not like it was a tournament or anything. Before we tee’d off, we were greeted by a man. Immediately he said we weren’t allowed to share clubs, so we were told to go rent additional clubs, then I was told I wasn’t allowed to wear jeans on the course, so I had to purchase something to wear at the pro shop. This man just assumed that we just had extra money to easily spare. We had a budget to work with, to golf there for four people on its own costed us $500 to do nine holes, we rented the clubs for $50 and I had to pay $104, to buy a golf skirt that I will never wear again. Nothing in the pro shop was less than $100... The experience made us feel that we weren’t good enough and judged by our appearance, even though we paid our money to be there. I felt so embarrassed and it was a bad first impression for my husband, and for all of us as a matter of fact! What era are we living in again? I don’t like how that this man assumed that spending an extra $150 was no big deal. I could have spent that money on a dinner with my family, as we left the course hungry, which is not unusual. I do not support this high society, monarchical culture. We are all people at the end of the day, what is the purpose of all these “rules” it upholds the “class” system and supports division. A truly disgusting culture to upkeep and support. If I had to do this all over again I would have saved my money and spend it on a hotel where I could have stayed 2 nights and had a nice dinner with my family. This is not the first bad experience that I have had with Fairmont. I will write up the others.
Absolutely amazing course. Beautiful
Good
Great layout, well maintained, amazing staff. 5 stars if there were GPS in the carts or more yardage markers on the course.
The group lessons with the course pro Andrew were excellent. I will sign up again next year. All the staff are really focused on providing a great experience.
Simply beautiful, if you like to golf and are considering golfing at banff, quit thinking about it and just do it the scenery is just amazing, then the challenge of the game is way up their, very fin course, highly recommend
Would be a 1 out of 5 but the staff are really nice and accommodating so it gets a boost to 2/5. The course itself is nice but its no better than the other courses in the area. Save your money and go to Silvertip or Stewart Creek. The food in the lounge is really limited but again the staff were really nice. Watch out for the "Alberta resident discount" - it's a bit misleading.
Not worth the money. The course is stunning, although definitely not in $220 shape with weeds on the fairways, dry patches and loads of large rocks in all the sand traps. Service was worse, facilities very dated, food was disappointing and over priced. Staff was unenthused and not helpful. I also found it surprising for a course of this price that the carts didn’t have GPS and clubs were not picked up or washed before or after the round.
The course is in excellent shape and has top notch facilities. I'd recommend getting there a bit early so you can use the practice chipping/putting greens that are available. They are taking very serious Covid procedures which made me feel …
It's expensive. But it's a great course.
Breathtaking!
Fantastic scenery and a quality golf course
Great golf course, worth every cent spent. Group of sixteen golfers, we were treated like rock stars. Thank you to all the staff for the wonderful experience. Not our first visit, definitely not our last.
Beautiful course
Stunning golf course, maintained to an impeccable standard. Should be on every golfer's to do list.
An amazing golf experience. One of the world's most scenic courses.
While driving thru the golf course we encountered some pretty beautiful beasts
Great court and fantastic scenery!!
Best course I’ve ever played on.
Great place to golf. Bring your wallet
This course is absolutely stunning. The views are incredible and the course was in great shape. The cost of $260/round is a little bit steep. However, you are paying the views, wildlife, and Stanley Thompson course design. Definitely a bucket list course that should be played.
Beautiful course
An amazing day. Beautiful course, excellent conditions and friendly staff. Lorraine, on hole 7 was kind enough to take pictures for us, and was a delight to talk with. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience.
It was great day golfing in the mountains course conditions are very good
Wow !! What a wonderful golf course !!! Worth every penny do yourself a favour and play it !!
Great day for golf. Great experience, staff was awesome. I had a great day cheers
Awsome
Gorgeous course.
Amazing day. Amazing course
A very good place to swing the clubs.
Course :2.5-3 stars for the cost. Views:5 stars + . Great golf course with gorgeous views makes for a great day. Also try Stewart Creek and Silvertip, if you're in the area.
It's hard to imagine, but standing on every tee, you will be blown away with panoramic views of the Canadian Rockies every way you turn. The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course in Alberta, Canada will captivate you with its beauty as well as challenge your golf game. The course was built more than 100 years ago by a Scottish golf pro who wanted to bring the sport to Banff, Canada's first national park. The Fairmont Banff Springs Resort is a world-class resort and is the perfect place to stay and play. ©Trip Trivia
Great location. Beautiful
bucket list for a golfer. tick.
By far the nicest golf course I've ever been to. A lot more expensive than most places but they treat you like royalty. Definitely worth it
Enjoyed the course and its views but the odor from the nearby sewage treatment plant made us nauseous.
Having golfed a good amount of other top rated course, Banff is still my favourite. The old school design, the history, the course conditioning, all fantastic. I really wish there was an easier option to play the course in it's original order though. The course used to start and end at the hotel, and this does affect the flow of the course greatly. I asked about that when booking a tee time and they made it sound like a major inconvenience. Please make this an option!
Beautiful views...tee boxes, fairways and bunkers were in good shape. Greens were OK...a little bumpy and kind of slow, but didn't take away from the experience. Unfortunately, we didn't see any wildlife. Not overly difficult course as the fairways and greens are huge, but there are plenty of bunkers to hit into (194 of them). A little overpriced, but considering it's associated to the Fairmont, not surprised. I would rather play Kananaskis or Stewart Creek for the money...
This should be a much higher review, but with our experience this past weekend I need to post this. The course itself is absolutely amazing, well maintained and the views are second to none. 5 stars all the way through the day! Cheers Jim Doucette
Great golfing experience set amongst gorgeous mountain scenery. If you get the chance, play it!
Getting expensive but if you ask they usually drop the green fee a bit. Wide fairways and stunning views. Hard to beat a round on the Stanley Thompson 18
(Translated) Banfu Spring Spring Golf Course is one of the top six courses in Canada. It was designed with great design and was the location of Marilyn Monroe in the Hollywood movie "Going to the East". Groups take a leisurely …
Gorgeous and enjoyable course. Good staff.
The views here are stunning.
One of the greatest courses on earth. Buckle list course
Amazing views and decent golf. The problem is that most courses that charge over $100 have certain perks. You can justify your prices because of location and scenery but you also have to make it a great golf experience too.
Loved it
I was part of the Banff mens golf program. It was a great time and learned a lot from the golf pro Andrew. Its a 6 day program over 6 weeks. I would recommend it as its well worth the time and cost for beginners as well as veteran golfers.
Spectacular views, and well kept fairways and greens. Staff and attentive, but not intrusive.
Beautiful and challenging course with a variety of elevation throughout the entire course.
Absolutely beautiful and great friendly staff
Beautiful views. Good condition. Glad we got to play here.
My favorite course ever. We have been lucky enough to be golfing the Springs for years. Gorgeous and challenging course, great staff, food and beverage service is also fantastic. Thanks BPH Golf Course for maintaining an exceptional course and atmosphere.
Terrible communication. Made a reservation, received no confirmation email with dress code etc. Arrived there after a long trip and could not golf because we did not have the proper attire. All this could have bee ln avoided if we were sent the information through email confirmation.
Unbelievable golf course. Definitely a bucket list place to play for all golfers.
Nice course. Good service
Honestly for the price just go to Kananaskis. Great staff pretty course but just not worth premium pricing …
Fantastic golf course, the scenery is unbelievable! Had a wonderful day golfing with our family!
Golfed with the Elle ladies golf - lessons and then golfed with the Pro. Steven .. What a fun day. ????
I was with afternoon tee time but after six hole, the heavy rain stopped all players included me. We checked the pro shop for rain voucher but they only gave me a 9 hole. I drove a long way to this place with more than 200 dollar price with only incomplete journey? I have to take that kind of offer and came back next day. After completed first nice hole, the guy waiting at the ninth hole and asked me out the course. Yes, they sent a guy watching me. Golf is something for relax and joyful , not such awful experience.
