Great venue! Fabulous staff and food. Was there for a wedding today. Would be 5 stars except for the older security guard working there. Extremely rude and overbearing, making my girlfriend and a lot of other women uneasy with being creepy. And really, do you really need a security guard leaning on the bar eyeing up everyone? When he wasn't being generally miserable, he made good use of time by being attentive to his phone. Truly an arse. Perfect event up until we encountered him. By the way, the younger security guard was nothing but a polite professional who was personable and courteous to all. If someone from Apple Creek wants to contact me to hear the story of our encounter, please let me know your contact information and I would be most happy to oblige.

We had our small(er) wedding here of 25 people. Honestly the best location and best prices. The view was amazing and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There were beautiful locations on the golf course for photos as well and we just used a cart to get around. We had our ceremony elsewhere and then came here for photos before dinner, we finished photos a bit early but they were accommodating and the family just visited on the patio with drinks while we were waiting on our dinner guests to join. The room was beautiful, we didn’t do any extra decoration but honestly we didn’t need to. If your deciding on wedding venues, go here ladies! Ask for Melissa - she was amazing and made the day of seamless. The menu and food was absolutely to die for- not one person had a concern with their meal, everyone loved it and enjoyed- I’ve worked weddings and food/beverage for many years and to have table service for 25 people go so seamlessly is unheard of (especially with multiple courses, and steaks as mains and everyone had preferences on how well done etc). Thank you to the Apple Creek crew for making our day amazing!

Cost is amazing. Drive from Calgary leaves you a bit bluh. Course layout isn't that good. Crossing over the main intersection looking for your next tee box. If you don't have a good yard accuracy game and can drop the ball then for the most part pack more balls. Save money on the round, make up for it on balls lost. The club house is nice, 10th tee box on whites are on a sloped angle. So expect a difficult drive.

It was ok ..but ..way too many protected areas and every approach shot is blind into the greens..no clue where your ball hits or doesnt hit the green ..definitely need a spotter on each hole .shot a 85 with 4 lost balls ..food was Fantastic in the club house afterwards. But wont golf this course again sorry ????

We went out for a pre-wedding food sampling. I was blown away by everything! The log cabin style building, the food and the freindly staff are all way more than I expected. I wasn't aware of the work that has been done out here! A hidden gem for sure. I can't wait to come back in the summer to see the golf course.

I try to leave good reviews, but today we were really disappointed with the way the course was run. When starting the back nine, we allowed a 2some to play through as they had been pushing us for the front nine. This is regular course etiquette. Yet within 2 holes, the Marshall Norm was harassing us (a 4some) to keep up with the 2some we had allowed to play through. We were actually ahead of the pace of play (finished 18 in 4 hours 20 minutes, while the pace of play is posted at 4 hours 30 minutes). The Marshall felt it was not adequate to tell just one of our group to pick up the pace, but waited for and stopped a second member of our 4some to repeat the admonishment. This actually held us up more. This has cost Applecreek at least 2 returning clients.

This Manitoban was very impressed. The course was in great condition when we played it on September 20. It was a beautiful fall day with the leaves changing colours and the contrast between the yellow and orange trees and the lush green fairways and greens was striking. The course was not overly difficult and the yardage from the whites (~5900 yards) was perfect for me and my playing partner. There are no bunkers on the course (fine with me ????) but the creek is in play on almost every hole and that's challenge enough. It claimed more than a few balls from me. The greens were fast and true and provided a putting challenge on every hole. Staff were friendly and accommodating and even found my credit card case I left in the cart! Had such a good time we played it again the next day! Would recommend this course and will be back one day.

Greens were slow and conditions weren't amazing. That could just be seasonal though. The course itself is beautiful, and it is fun, but the moats and creeks surrounding so many holes make it unnecessarily hard with very small greens in many cases.

Played here in early August and the course was in good shape and the staff was friendly. There could be some improvements to the signage from hole to hole as we got off track looking for a few holes and we were not alone in this position. Another improvement could be the removal of the ground hogs on the back end of the course. Those are minor concerns that can be overlooked but what was strange about the course was the over use of the creek in front of the green. It seemed like most approaches were the same over and over again. A little boring at times.

Absolutely love this course. It is much more challenging than Woodside and yet it is more affordable than Woodside. If you haven't played Applecreek yet and you live in Airdrie or Calgary well grab your phone and book a tee time. There is even two or three drivable par four holes for long ball hitters like me. I got my first par 4 eagle on the 305 yard par 4 (see GPS tracked drive 307 yards) , landing it eight feet from the pin off my drive! The natural environmental hazards around the green will push you to improve your approach game. Great food, nice pro shop, and the design and positioning of the large snack shack and bar is fantastic!

The “endangered grass” area is horrible. Plan on shooting about 5-10 strokes more. The books don’t even show you how many yards to shoot over the “endangered grass” area. If you go there make sure to take a guide or someone that knows the lay out very well.

Went to a wedding, they didn't even close the hole that was right beside the ceremony. Waiters / waitresses took away all food and drink before the night was over.

Staff are great. Clubhouse is great. Course is in good shape for a relatively new track. Greens are good. Some tricky holes, great for forcing you to be more accurate (lots of creeks and environmental areas). Tee boxes need a bit of work and bunkers would be nice, only reason for not 5 stars. (Although there is certainly enough unplayable rough and water to make up for no bunkers). Great value for your money.

It's early April and the grass is still brown and lots of environmentally sensitive areas around the greens eat up fairly decent shots... long but open fairways means you are using your driver often... fun course!

We were here for a wedding so can't comment on the golf course. Wedding was excellent. Gazebo provided for the outdoor ceremony. inside reception area is very nice. food was good. bar prices were a bit steep but not too far off from average. nice bathrooms although one of the men's main bathrooms had a urinal and a toilet but no partition in between. I guess it is for one person at a time.

Really didn't appreciate their marshal getting us (and only us) in trouble, and telling us to speed up when we were waiting at every tee-box for the group ahead of us. Then of course finishing our round ahead of the posted time. If someone calls to report a group being "slow" maybe remind them every course in Alberta runs slow on a weekend. I won't be coming back. Plenty of other more affordable, player friendly, and relaxed courses to go spend my money at. Otherwise every other staff member was incredibly friendly.

I must say, the course is in great shape this year with all the rain and the addition of the roller for the greens is really helping with putting consistency green after green. I still cannot understand for the life of me why the tee boxes are such a mess and so consistently unable to be FLAT, like any other golf course. New tee boxes have been built and seem better but this is a fundamental flaw that can be managed easily.

I play in the Ladies League at Apple Creek. The buildings are all stunning from the clubhouse to the snack "shack" (read gorgeous log buidling) to the bathrooms interspersed along the course (they flush!l). The course is lovely and while there are no sand traps there are plenty of challenging environmental cutouts that really like to eat my golf balls. I enjoy playing this course every week!

Forgot my credit card for club rentals. Don't live anywhere near there. Forced to have them cut it up, will cancel the card anyways. Won't send it or help a guy out. Worst part was the course layout for me. Huge, ball eating roughs unfortunately placed around the greens. Can't see where you landed, slows the game down in tournament play. Was put in a row to start a tournament, could've been staggered. Was one of the longest rounds of golf in recent memory.

Greens are INCREDIBLY SMALL!! Not a very well designed course. Looks like it was designed by a farmer with NO MONEY. Tee boxes are sloped, environmentally sensitive areas are way to close to greens. They do not pay provincial taxes in exchange for maintaining these areas. Almost as bad as the Kanalta management group at Kananaskis. The only positive is the range.

Where do we even begin! At the beginning of our wedding journey, I was dead set against having our wedding at a Golf Course....until we stepped foot into Apple Creek! we were planning our wedding in the middle of the pandemic and if we didn't have Richard and Melissa to help get us through the year leading up to and including our big day, it wouldn't have had the wedding of our dreams! The venue, AMAZING, the food, AMAZING, the staff, AMAZING, Richard and Melissa, ABSOLUTLY AMAZING! Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did for us! We experienced some huge challenges due to COVID restrictions and they helped us pull off an amazing wedding in spite of it all. It's also a beautiful venue and the food is amazing. The food and service at Apple Creek was excellent. We were 6 adults and 3 kids who stopped into have lunch on the patio and to hit some balls as we passed through town. The facility and club house is great, our server, Bailey, was fantastic, and the sandwiches and kids meals we really, really tasty. When we went to hit balls, the driving range happened to be closed, but the staff still allowed the 3 kids (ages 3 thru 6) to hit a bucket of balls on the range, which was very generous.

We had our wedding at Apple Creek Golf Course in the upstairs banquet room. While trying to book a wedding venue, every place we went to made us feel like we were an inconvenience to them by trying to have our wedding there. This was until we met Richard and Melissa, they really made us feel special. They took us on multiple multiple tours, had us for food tastings, and answered our millions of questions all with enthusiasm. Melissa deserves a paragraph all on her own. Melissa was also there for our entire wedding and reception making sure the day went off without a hitch, acting almost as our day of coordinator and made sure we didn't have a single thing to worry about. While planning our wedding everyone told us to expect something to go wrong at some point, but thanks to Melissa, our day went down like a complete fairytale wedding. Thanks to Richard, Melissa and Apple Creek for helping us have the wedding we always dreamed of.

Played there Saturday September 4, 2021. This was my third time on the course and I was aware of the course difficulty ahead of time. The marshaling was virtually non existent that day. We saw them drive around but never said a word to anyone and our round was pushing 6 hours. I understand there was some frost delay and a large social group was doing an event ahead of us. but given all of that we only teed off 10 minutes late. Every hole we had to wait 10-15 minutes to tee off and the group behind would even have to wait with us. In no way should an event cause that much delay. By the time we hit hole 15 we had hit almost 5 hours and we ended the round there. This was where we got really annoyed. As we were driving off the course we saw that the delay was from 2 groups ahead of us and the remaining holes had no one on them except 18 was approaching the green when we drove past. There was 1 group 2-3 groups ahead backlogging the entire course with no marshal intervention that could be seen. This is completely unacceptable

I golfed this course Friday night. The greens were absolutely terrible. I’m not sure what’s going on with the greens here but they were about 1/4 to 1/2 long. And covered with sand. My putter looked like i had been using it in a sand trap all day. The course was in fairly decent shape otherwise, but it was difficult to even call these greens “greens”. Almost like playing on temp greens.

Had a 1:51 tee time today. Arrived at 1:15 to hit the driving range first. Was told it was closed for maintenance, which is fine. Also was told that there was a tournament going on and that they were hoping they would be done just after 2pm, so there would be a slight delay with our tee time. Go into the restaurant to wait, and find out there are still about 6 groups to tee off (this was around 2:20), so our tee time would now be 3pm or later. We decided to cancel. Went back out to our carts and find out the guy at the proshop dumped my beer without saying a word. We hadn't even tee'd off. Bringing your own alcohol on the course is understandly a rule at just about any course. But having one dumped without a word while being delayed 1hr+ due to poor management is ridiculous . Will not be back

Unfortunately I am not writing this review to slash the golf course but as a bride to be I would not recommend this golf course as 6 months before my wedding day they had “booked the wrong day” and tried to say it was my fault. I just emphasize on the fact that I know 100% I did not book the wrong day and it would have been my grandparents anniversary day. My fiancé and I had previously booked the venue 17 months In advance. We had went out there they had showed us the banquet room it was set up at a Italian family seating wedding and was stunning. They then walked us out the gazebo saying this is where we would get married then went back in and talked about detail My Fiance ordered a paralyzed and I got a Caesar. Like I said I remember the day, it’s my wedding, don’t doubt me. I then proceeded to tell Melissa Larson how I had to have June 1 because it was my grandparents anniversary that day and my grandpa had passed. they try to tell me I booked June 8, I found the email stating I said June 1. Then she proceeded to tell me they did not clarify what room they had available ! ARE YOU KIDDING ME how much clearer do you need to be than physically showing my fiancé and I. The date was important to me so I was willing to work with them and maybe have the dance June 8 but then have a small ceremony June 1 somewhere else. But due to the fact that Melissa IGNORING for 9 days. I just wanted an apology and my money back do you think I even go that ? negative. I’m baffled on the fact that a 26 year old girl who’s about to get married could handle the situation better than a 40 year lady. How would you feel if this happened to you, you can’t tell me you didn’t read my emails or my get my phone calls in 9 days. Not once was I rude or inconsiderate I just wanted to find out what happened and if there was anything we could do. Also when my wedding planner went there in November, she didn’t even have my file pulled knowing a month in advance we would be coming there however I was unable to make it due to a snow storm. She also didn’t even have a last name on our file it just said Amanda wedding . There was not email or phone number wrote down at all. I had called her oct. 8 staying Nov. 10 we would be coming there for Howard wedding June 1. And if she could send me a invoice from my deposit . So she knew. But never called never apologized. Just ignored the whole situation in hopes maybe I’d just disappear. Mature. I don’t know about you but I would not recommend this person to help with your wedding and I would never want some thing like this to happen to anyone else as it was terrible to reply a whole wedding 6 months before the wedding. All I wanted was an apology and my money back. Which I did receive 14 days later, no thanks to Melissa I had to call the pro shop to get ahold of anyone.

The pro shop staff, restaurant staff and maintenance staff are all very friendly and helpful at this course. They go above and beyond to make your experience great. It is a well maintained course, and the restaurant also serves great food. If you like a challenge and enjoy hitting over water this is the course for you. There are many environmental friendly areas in front of the greens, so if you can hit the ball high and have them stop quickly you will enjoy this course. No sand traps here, but with all the water and the turtle shell shaped greens there is enough to challenge anyone. A bit too much of a challenge for me otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating. The price is very fair here as well. It is worth giving this course a shot.

If I could give it less than one star I would. I am generally a positive person so let me start with saying that the course was in pretty good shape. The staff was just ok and the play on the course was some of the worst I have ever experienced. Every green is dome shaped and has water or some kind of hazard around it. On the day we played the pins were in ALMOST impossible places - talking side hills and within 2 steps of the back of the green or front of the green. When you are dealing with dome shaped greens that don;t hold shots(I hit a high shot that sticks on almost all greens)this is just UNFAIR! We started in a shotgun with no one two holes in front or behind. After 9 holes we suddenly had 3 groups backed up in front of us and one 2 some coming up behind us.(we were two) We joined up with the group behind but the 3 groups in front definitely slowed us down the rest of the way. Sorry to say I won't be going back anytime soon! This was more like PUNISHMENT than fun! Still managed a good score but the wind and the stupidly designed greens were terrible.

We really enjoyed the course. The staff is outstanding Quinn and Jesse in the pro shop treated us great and were a lot of fun. The course is tough plain and simple it forces you to hit some shots and that is a good thing. The snack shack is located in the perfect place and you will not go hungry or thirsty. The facility is great the food was awesome and I would recommend this course to anyone. First time out don't expect to go low your first time out.

Terrible Customer Service in the Restaurant tonight. I've been to the restaurant a few times and I always had a great experience. Tonight the food was very good like usual but the waitress was very inattentive. First I ordered a beer and my wife needed a extra minute to look at the wine menu. The waitress returned promptly with my beer and then quickly left. She never asked my wife if she wanted anything to drink. It took approx 10 minutes for her to return to the table and ask my wife if she wanted anything other then water to drink. My next bad experience was when I was waiting to order another beer which I never had a chance to. It was just after 9pm and the waitress never came back to ask if I wanted another beverage. She was more worried about doing inventory of the liquor bottles and her closing duties. I understand establishments close at a certain point but the waitress never announced a last call. She even took my empty beer glass away and didn't ask if I would like another beverage. Sadly I like to give a good tip but I couldn't tonight cause the waitress was very subpar.

Nice course, in good shape for this time of year. Price is awesome, worth the drive. A little confusing finding tee boxes and where to go maybe more signage, but after several rounds should be No problem.????

Great room for the wedding reception. Gazebo adequate for ceremony. Gravel parking lot needs upgrade. Distance from event building to wedding gazebo pretty rough go in formals on gravel. Food good but not top shelf yet. Expensive bar for a wedding but top notch bartending so acceptable. Overall I would recommend this venue for a function as they appear to be on an upward direction as a sought after facility.

Haven't played this season, but have enjoyed some fun albeit frustrating rounds here. Clubhouse is very ambitious, and appears to be an excellent event space. Nice well equipped pro shop as well, one of the better you will find, though prices as usual are high you can snag deals on end of year clearances and they often have a lot of demo clubs. Course is very flat open as it is new and needs to grow in but keeps itself interesting throughout with some unique challenges. Plays very long especially the par 5's, though they only have out of bounds and long grass areas instead of bunkers (possibly to come?) that spares you some grief. Lots of difficult greens shots, as many are surrounded entirely or partially by out of bounds protected wetland you can't step in or hit out of. Expect to lose a lot of balls, and find a fair few too. Would recommend but they've scaled their prices up a bit too much in my opinion over previous seasons, and this course will need to keep showing value to have long term success. Canada Golf Card has 2 for 1's with restrictions which makes it a good value considering distance from Calgary.

Apple creek golf course **Driving Range... a - Nice long / wide area b - No fence around it and Hole 10 is to the right I believe **Golf Course... a - This is a nice 18 Hole course b - Tricky fast greens surrounded by creeks / water c - Some greens are hard to make out because of the Water areas with tall grass d - Quality shots are a must at areas or the course will take away your golf balls as punishment (Bring extra balls) e - Found some of the fairways tight to one another f - The layout of the course is good (Always pass by the House in the middle - Coffee / Treats / Beer / Etc) g - Bring your long game as you will need it **Country club... a - The customer service is amazing (Easy to talk with / Always Smiling)... Jenny waited on us b - The food was delicious and found it reasonably priced... (Good size and high quality)

I would like to say you pay for what you get but that would be a lie.. I guess that's why I was able to book a tee time Saturday afternoon for Sunday morning. Course is in rough shape, and every hole has environmental areas that you cant go in, which on other courses you would be able to hit from. Clubhouse is nice however.

Not a bad course. Very hot summer and had super dry fairways didnt seem like there was sprinklers either. Also was my first time playing there found it alittle confusing to find some of the next tee boxes. They have signs with arrows but still managed to go the wrong way a couple times

SO IMPRESSED! We recently had our wedding at Apple Creek, both Melissa and Richard from the get go of booking were so helpful and responsive. We were catered too completely with all of our requests which made our day so perfect! Even with having to change our ceremony from outside to inside, there was no hassle and everything was taken care of for us. The food was delicious, their service was amazing throughout the night and everyone was taken care of if they needed something! Thank you for making our special day so easy for us! We truly did not have to worry about a thing, Melissa was like a wedding fairly that knew exactly what needed to happen or where people were at all times throughout the day!

Apple Creek was one of our top choices from the list of venues that we wanted to visit before booking one. They responded to us right away and were really accommodating from the very beginning. We wanted to have a fun night away from the city limits with amazing views and some space for wanders – we didn’t have to look further. The rustic style of their upper room with vaulted ceilings and huge wooden beams really stood out to us. Melissa and Rich were truly personable and amazing – we had a ton of fun during our meetings. Our family was also impressed with the look of the venue and the views that surround the golf course. Highly recommend!
