We have just had Richard design and landscape our garden and could not be happier with it - the spec, the finish, the service, the quality and professionalism. Richard was recommended to us by a friend for his unique balance of knowledge, passion and ability for both landscaping and gardening, and that recommendation was spot on. We really appreciated Richard’s honesty and knowledge during the design process - taking on feedback and happy to make changes but equally comfortable to challenge if our idea wouldn’t quite work. He was incredibly professional throughout the process and was clean and tidy whilst doing the work. Lastly, it is clear that Richard is a perfectionist with his attention to detail and quality of work. We are super happy with our garden. Everything is as we planned and hoped but much better then I had imagined. I would highly recommend Richard and will absolutely go back to him should we need garden and/or landscaping services again.

We employed Richards services as a garden designer in 2017. We have a challenging, long but narrow garden and we wanted many different things from it. After an initial consultation Richard presented us with drawings and a 3d walkthrough video. We were very happy with the results and after we had completed the hardscaping he was kind enough to have helped us to source the plants. 1 year in from starting the landscaping and we are delighted with the results and will post a picture once we've finished the pond and various other bits. Our remit was to design and recommend a planting scheme for our recently landscaped back garden in Thorpe St Andrew. We chose Richard because we liked his website and on meeting him felt he had a calm sympatric approach with an understanding of the plants, especially colours, scent and year round interest. We employed Richard last year to provide and implement a design for our front and rear gardens. The gardens aren’t large - and aa well as making the most of the space available, one of our requirements was that they should be relatively low maintenance going forward. From the initial meeting Richard provided outstanding service. He listened carefully to what we needed and made really helpful suggestions as to what would work well with the location. The 3D designs he provided were very realistic and made our decisions easy; he was also very responsive in making changes etc. The works themselves were hassle free and very well executed. At one point Richard wasn’t happy with the quality of the paving and contacted me straight away to discuss alternatives (along with a very clear indication of any cost implications). We’re very happy with the outcome. We now have lovely gardens, with great variety of type and colour and they’re maturing nicely (and as envisaged in the design models!) Thank you!!

We could not have been more pleased with the service we received. Richard really knows his stuff. He really listened to what we wanted. He supplied all the plants for us and helped plant them. We now can’t wait for Spring to come. We had tried a few people before hand but when reviewed Richards web site we had a feeling he was was what we needed and he absolutely was. When Richard is in the garden working with you, you feel like it’s an old friend working with you in the garden rather than a business man. We can’t recommend Richard more highly.

Having decided to employ the services of a garden designer, a Google search highlighted a few in my area, including RW Gardens. A well laid out website encouraged me to arrange a visit from Richard, which turned out to be a pleasant no-pressure chat about garden design, plants, gardening and my preferences. The enthusiasm showed by Richard during this visit meant that I was more than happy to employ his creative services, and I'm really pleased that I did. Subsequent visits to my garden narrowed down the potential ideas until I was happy that everything I wanted was incorporated, and the 3D 'walk through' of the proposed garden was really useful in bringing the 2D plan to life. Although I've been a keen gardener for many years, he was able to offer design advice on a level beyond anything I could have come up with, and I now have a clear idea on how to transform my site into a garden that will incorporate all of my 'wish list', and more besides. It's not often that I'm completely happy to recommend someone to others, but I will happily recommend Richard to anyone seeking a garden designer.
