Many companies can remove old soil, replace with new, cover with bark mulch, hard prune existing, prepare paver foundation and install new, clean up, and then leave. What makes this company unique is the knowledge and understanding of the principles and knowledge, teamwork and experience ,to do this well, not just cosmetically, but deeper and with longer lasting results. Having had over fifty years of design, project management, and contract experience in western Canada, the Northwest Territories and BC, I see this understanding, and underpinning of everything they have done on our property. If I stopped here in my assessment, I would have missed illustrating what I think is what makes this company truly unique. They have done four days of non-stop work in the most inhospitable weather of heavy rain, extreme winds and late into the evening hours - with humour. One more thing, that truly astounded me. They have done extra, needed work without asking, and above and beyond their quote. Not many, if any companies 'go that extra mile' as the slogan goes, this one does. If you have a chance to need work such as this, you will find conversations with Shane or Lee clear, objective, and productive. During the work in progress, you will be updated with issues already resolved. They promise what they quote, and then, they over deliver. I recommend them most highly, in fact if I was 40 years younger, I would be working for and with them.

Dec. 6, 2021 Norton and his staff serviced my moms large property. It' consists of many large trees, shrubs, and gardens. They came and toured the yard and had a conversation with my mom (the owner of the property) and I regarding the specifics of the condition of the plants, and grounds. They answered questions we had about a seasonal maintenance plan. We were impressed first with their knowledge. Next, the delivery of the pruning of trees, and shrubs was above average and impressive.They removed leaves and cleaned up gardens. Well done. They also cleared gutters around sunroom and made valuable suggestions about drainage improvements that we may want to consider around that space. We are very appreciative of the service we have received and continue to receive from this company and look forward to using them consistently in the future. We are happy to refer this company.

I was looking for a local company to help tidy up my backyard which for years had been growing more weeds that actual grass, I also wanted the surrounding hedges trimmed properly and neatly after a couple of years of neglect. Susanna and Craig responded to my call immediately and I had them at my place for a consultation that same day. They educated me on how much trimming is safe and healthy for my hedges and explained their processes to grow green grass. Not to mention they were open to removing one of my trees that sat right in the middle of the yard. A few days later they were at my home and took care of everything within the day working long hours and with a smile on their faces. Susanna and Craig are easy to talk to, very approachable, and knowledgeable. Also, this is a family business with their kids involved! Thank you Susanna and Craig! Norton Gayle and his brother are very hard workers. We had put in ties under a tree to prevent the mulch from spilling onto the driveway. The driveway has some odd edges and he ensured that each tie was cut precisely so that they connected evenly. It looked really great after it was done. He spent a lot of time making sure it was perfect and kept checking in with us to ensure we were happy with it. I had soil and much topped up in my garden beds Including weeding. Topped up soil on grass and seeded and fertilized. Norton gave me really good cost effective advice for me to get all this work done. He was very patient and explained everything very well. He also set the expectations for the job and delivered accordingly. They tidied up so well after they were finished. The job was done after our first thunderstorm and my driveway was covered in leaves from the huge trees around our property and they even helped me with that. They stepped into such a mess and left it spotless. I highly recommend Norton. He will be back to maintain my lawn and I am looking forward to a beautiful front yard in spring.

We used this business for several years and were very impressed. Then the COVID pandemic hit. I stayed far enough from the lawn guy's truck that I didn't noticed he was no longer with Jim's Mowing. Meanwhile, the lawn guy morphed into an anti-masker (and anti-vaxxer). I mistakenly left a review for Jim's Mowing saying that the service and quality were excellent, but I'd really appreciate the guy wearing a mask when he stood on my doorstep! The local franchiser got in touch with me, and I left him a message giving the lawn guy's name and my address. Today the lawn guy wore a mask. And today I also realized that our lawn guy had gone off on his own and is no longer with Jim's Mowing. I suspect but can't prove the Jim's Mowing franchise owner put in a word. After all, the lawn guy hadn't been listening to me. Thank you, Jim's Mowing!

I normally wouldn't write a review for a yard maintenance company, but Norton Gayle and his brother did such a great job. I contacted Jim's Mowing to ask for a quote to haul away a pile of green waste. I'd taken down several dead trees and out of control holly. I got a text message back letting me know that Norton would be calling me back within two hours. Less than an hour later he called and said he could come by later that day to give a quote. Less than two hours later he was here. Both Norton and his brother were friendly, professional and completely patient with my barking dog. The quote was very reasonable and they were available for the work right away. They worked very quickly, loading up, cutting branches to fit; they even finished removing and chopping up a tree I hadn't had time to finish because they got here so quickly! They needed to move some things for access, which meant that my dog would be able to jump the fence. When I went out to have a look when they were done, they had removed absolutely every scrap in the pile and put everything back where it had been so my dog couldn't get out. I would highly recommend Norton Gayle's Jim's Mowing.

Jim’s Mowing, Specifically Bal here in the Surrey/Cloverdale area is great to deal with. I’ve had great experiences having him look after the lawn mowing needs.
