If you have time to wander around this store has a great selection of items, and not just plant related. This store does a great job with their buying with clothing and bags and many other items. I have purchased their floral bouquets here before for gifts and they were very reasonably priced, and quite pretty (I'm picky). When you walk in the bouquets are a little difficult to find as they are tucked in the coolers that look like pop coolers, but they are worth checking out. I think the bouquets are about $15 and made fresh.

Great Store but the washrooms desperately need improvement. The only toilet is an outhouse, which was filthy, dirty, t.p. on floor , urine everywhere. Yuck.

BEWARE!! Do not use them for hot tub repair. They charge $200 just to show up and then they start charging to diagnose which is just them changing out parts and charging you through the nose. They charged me $600 which included 2 filters and they did not fix my hot tub, the guy was here for 15 minutes. I googled the code, it was an air lock that I fixed myself. I guess the monitor I paid for was still working. I called and a very rude lady asked me if I’d used them before, when I said no, she snapped at me saying “these are our prices here”. Then told me I had to deal with the owner directly. No thanks! Go elsewhere!!

Went in looking for peat moss soil for a money tree. I was told i didnt need it and was recommended an indoor plant soil. After transplanting the tree in the soil the money tree instantly started to die.. i eventually took it to a different place, to professionals, and the lady was able to mix a proper soil and bring my money tree back to health! Word of advice, if you do your own research and go into a store dont let the minimum wager try talk you out of doing something you know is correct!!

I bought a fiddle leaf fig from them and I've never had a healthier and more thriving plant. It's been about 3 months since I bought it from them and it grows a new leaf every week. It's so happy which is normally rare for fiddle leafs. Plus they had such a huge selection of fiddle leaf figs in store. Honestly great store for fiddle leaf figs, would recommend to everyone.

Unreal... My colleagues and I show up after a long day of driving in our electric vehicles. We decide to pull in as Art Knapp shows electric vehicle charger parking spots available online and as per signage. Once we plugin we're immediately greeted by what seems like an owner of the store and she starts interrogating us to find out why we're here. "Who are you? Are you a dealer? Are we here to shop or charge your car?" "Well we're here to charge and look around as we need to spend 30-45 mins waiting." I've never seen anyone so disgusted with my reply, so I asked why did you put charging stations here?... Who did you expect to come? She was very aggressive in the manner that she didn't want us here and threaten to kick us off the property... Lol. So, if this is the way you're looking to be treated when shopping for overpriced gardening and art goods. Art Knapp is the place to be! Clearly not a green (eco) store... Even the signs on the chargers say they're pleased to provide free charging... Bahaha. I went walking around and held back on buying some food, even though I'm starving. If the owner sees this review (I hope) please understand the cost of my charging today was nearing $0.50. You may want to fix the way you greet your customers! Otherwise you will lose out on the ever growing customers driving EVs.

We have been visiting Art Knapp for more than 12 years. My children loved the “Thomas” train rides, the exotic animal mini-zoo, the model trains, and Lego displays. I am very impressed with their hot sauce selection; (some of them have very high, albeit understandable, markups). In fact, they are the only retailer I know of in BC that sell the “Marie Sharps” line. I highly recommend this nursery for families with younger children, or gastronomes who wish to spice up their meals.

I love your clothing section and havebeen into the store twice this week. I buy alot of my clothes there and tell many others about the quality and selection. The last two days I can not believe how terrible the service is by the girls who work in that department. The first day the girl never even looked up to acknowledge my presence. I walked around and around looking for a sweater I had previously seen. She was busy doing paper work or something?. Today I went in and there were two girls sitting on the stools. One was doing computer work or something and the other just staring off into space. It was early 9:38. Couldn't even say good morning or get off the stool. You need to work at sales these days. Say good morning, jump down off the stool show some interest in the customer. Ask me if I'm looking for anything in particular. You are working for money try making an effort. The point is the computer work, ordering product, and other related things are useless if the customers do not purchase your products.

Very disappointed that the owner feels he is above Dr Bonnie's orders by not wearing his mask at work.... when i complained to staff about an employee speaking loudly and so close to customers that they were backing away from him because he was maskless, the employee stated that the man without the was the owner. Cashier employees said they weren't surprised and agreed with our concerns.. No my name is not Karen..... but I will never return to that store...

If you're going here for tropical house plants, don't bother. Not sure if it's just due to the time of year or what, but the selection of tropicals here is pathetic. Not to mention how sad the ones they do have are. Poor things looked neglacted, thirsty, and diseased. I would not recommend this place, and I will not be back.

You need to provide online or phone in order/payment for bulk products. It makes no sense to have to come inside the store each and every time to order a bucket or more of bulk. At the very least allow for the pre-purchase of a number of various bulk products. Buyers should be able to show a receipt or provide a receipt number/proof of purchase to the loader operator and never even have to get out of their vehicle, particularly now with trying to minimize exposure to covid-19.

It is expensive but I have bought some of my favourite plants and pieces of clothing from here. It’s great that they have also added electric parking. Their hot sauce collection is exceptional. The staff are friendly. It sometimes take a bit of time to find someone in fashion to allow you into a change room. They have customer appreciation days from time to time which is nice as well. Mini golf is fun but the course is a bit run down.

I bought a Jacuzzi hot tub, and love, love, love it! Ashley initially helped me in the store when I was looking. Ashley was great, super friendly and always happy and able to answer all my questions, when she couldn't she was very honest and stated she'd find out and let me know, which she did right away all the time. Delivery was quick and the guys who delivered were also very friendly and even helped me with setting up my lift, they were great! I had turned the jets on once filled and one popped out, so I called and then within 20 min from my call, someone was out and fixed the jet, which just popped in. I felt bad, wasting their time but Will was the one who came out, again very kind and polite and insisted it was no problem. He also checked and got all the jets on and all was great! The staff all round were awesome, friendly, supportive and prompt, fast service!!! I would highly recommend going here if you are wanting a brand new hot tub. The jets feel heavenly on my muscles. Looking forward to more dips in the tub!!!

What an interesting store! It doesn’t only have the plants, but has many sections such as clothes, jewelry, hot sauces, unique candy, skin care and all kinds of gifts. You can easily spend an hour in there browsing. Good place for unique gifts. The prices sting though. All same/similar items are way cheaper elsewhere.

although they are more expensive and sometimes plants got neglected, this used to be my fav nursery since it’s close to where I live. However I am very upset today. They used the EV charging station spots to load and unload their goods, and shelves were placed there. 3 out of 4 spots were blocked. It is always an issue for non EV vehicles parking at charging stations, this is even worst, because it is occupied by the staff for loading?!?!? It is unacceptable even they explained it was a busy day and it’s not always happening. Charging stations are like gas stations for EV. Just dump your stations if you are unable to offer. Even it is a free gift from the nursery, you’re wasting people’s time coming for a charge. I can simply go charge somewhere else and shop for my plants somewhere cheaper and healthier!! Replying to Art Knapp: I appreciate for your prompt reply. As you may not know, EV drivers search charging stations online to see where they can get a charge on the way, I understand this is a free and kind offer from your business, but I do not appreciate when it is occupied for another use, especially by your staff. There could be drivers dying for a charge and hoping they can charge at your store so that they can do some shopping while charging and continue their trip after. Rethink and I look forward to a better arrangement for loading goods.

Love this place for Christmas Decorations. I find this one to be more adult themes decorations with less of the kid stuff and slightly more expensive than another nursery close by. They have a huge variety of stuff and even some really cute clothing jewelry. They lose a point for the waste of an entire wall on Crocs though. ????

Spacious place with large variety of items to purchase. We were pleasantly surprised with their huge array of selection. Rare candy, clothing, all your needs for gardening, succulents, candles, and jacuzzis. Ample parking, but turning in and out is quite difficult as it is located on a busy highway road.

Yikes. This place must be booming because they're not interested in my business. Called to find out if there was a line up because I wanted to sneak down on my lunch break. The lady couldn't tell me if there was a lineup or not, wasn't going to check for me but told me it's usually no longer than 5-10 mins. If you want to be accused and judged by entering an ART KNAPP you should come here. What kind of establishment dismisses customers upon entering the store and is quickly harassed because their alarm went off. The employee rudley yelled out loud I'm not allowed to enter. Well maybe you should fix your security device so that it doesn't go off when entering the store but goes off if SOMEONE IS STEALING SOMETHING. On top of this embarrassing scene the employee asked me to empty my pockets. I had no idea this ART KNAPP has airport type security! I was appalled, embarrassed, and dumbfounded that another employee even tried to demagnetize my wallet to try and solve the problem. My mistake for willing giving them my wallet that now my credit cards DO NOT WORK. I'm so so shocked and frustrated seeing everything that is happening in this world that I'm treated like this going into an art knapp to buy fish food.

4stars even 5 in terms of plant and seed quality. But a 1 in terms of price. Highest prices anywhere in entire Vancouver area hands down. Unbelievably expensive! Maybe if there was less clothing and collectibles that have nothing to do with gardening... then there would be more plants and less staff needed, less extraneous overhead and you wouldn't be charging customers the moon! Kind of seems to be built as a 'tourist trap.' It's a shame... they could be known for their plants instead of their commercialism.

I strongly suggest he use eyeglasses when working so he could see everything in the counter so he could punch in all items before a customer pays.

I have to say, as a long time customer of Art Kapps I am very disappointed in their level of service and being treated as kind of a bother for simple trying to resolve an issue. I spent $800 of a PondMax filter with UV light and separate pump. After about one year of actual time in the pond the actual top unit housing the UV and electrical stopped working. The 2 year warranty had just expired and i realize there is no requirement to offer any kind of good will and say its close enough to the date. Lots of companies will however, especially when we were repeatedly told this never happens to Pondmax products. We left the actual unit at Art Knapps for over a week asking to hear back on the issue when discussed with the PondMax rep. We never received any phone calls or info and even went in twice to see if anything had happened as my pond was without filtration and GREEN. We finally called again and was told nothing would be done and no advice on repair or solution. We felt like pests every time we asked anything, and the customer service was basically non existent. Even if we were simply given advice on repair options or maybe a discount on a replacement unit?? No such luck... This has left quite a sour taste in our mouths and unfortunately its hard to get past and want to buy anything from Art Knapps again. Family and friends will undoubtedly hear about this and the loss of business will most certainly be many times what the part would cost.....if some good will and.... gee....maybe going the extra mile to assist would have done.

Art Knapp is a store that constantly has me scratching my head. Hot Tubs and Christmas Trees, Clothing and Hot Sauces. Sometimes mixing in a Gem or Knick Nack worth buying. What was truly disappointing was the Plastic Bag still being offered when @CityofSurrey has banned the use of them as of November 1st. What gives?

I found this place quite disappointing. Spent over $260 and the woman “helping” us was beyond rude and couldn’t care less. Sat there for ten minutes before this woman even looked up. Sheldon rocks! Popped in real quick to get a simple $3 pot insert. In passing, asked an employee about maybe getting a hibiscus as a gift. Well it turns out I asked the right guy! I got the Hibiscus Guru! Sheldon could not have been anymore helpful, or informative, or fun! People who give that degree of personal touch in their customer service are rare. The man knows his stuff and his passion for his trade is infectious. Give that man a raise!

They have a great selection of tropicals, airplants, cacti and succulents. The displays of plants are always very beautiful! Plants are a reasonable price and always very healthy looking and well taken care of. When they get new shipments of tillandsias in, it's an incredible selection. Most of my tillandsia collection is from here. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We want to buy some crushed rocks and we want insde to look around we end up to buy flower plant and we decide to buy more next visit for our new house in south Surrey, When we arrived home when I took my backs off the trunk I found my plant is very dry and looked dead I put lots of water kept it under the shed area after 6hours still dead so I take it back and the manager said it's my fault I didn't plant it right away we tried to tell her it was dead when we arrived home but she isn't going to listen anymore and said I'm not returning the plant, This was our first time in the place and she lost my business forever the plant was only $15.00 . Very bad costumer service and bad business management. I don't recommend this place for anyone

I have been buying our Christmas trees from Art Knapp for around 26 years. In that time I have only had a bad tree twice. Once many years ago it was very dusty, I was offered a full refund or a new pick, because there was a fresh shipment of trees delivered I chose a new one. This year my tree is full of tree mites and when I called I was told to bring it back and pick a new. There has not been a new shipment brought in and I don't feel good about picking another tree from the same shipment. When I asked what about a refund I was told no not at all just a replacement. Sorry to say but next year will not be from Art Knapp. :(

The merchandise and store itself deserve 5 stars. But unfortunately the cashiers have been so unfriendly (on a number of occasions!) that it puts a damper on returning in the future. Today was the last straw. Basically they tried to charge us double for a pair of Crocs. The pair my wife brought to the til seemingly had no price tag. So the one girl "checked" and said they were $74.99. When my wife told them the other identical pairs were almost half that price - they wouldn't double-check - just rang them in and condescendingly told us "Crocs are expensive!" "That's how much they are!" So my wife walked back her self to get a pair and show them - they are $44.99. They examined the tag closely, as if she tampered with it. She ended up buying them but it didn't feel good making a payment to someone who treated you like dirt.

Pick up a scoop of so call “premium” garden soil， very disappointed since it is full of small rocks, I don’t think it is screening like other places . I was informed that one truck scoop is about 1 yard， actually it is not even closed to 3 quarters yard. Since I rented a u-haul 4x7 utility trailer, it is not filled up half. The utility trailer is about 1.2 yard if filled up. It costs me $50 for less than 3/4 yard of soil with lots rocks, the most expensive place in great Vancouver area. I went to other place to load more top soil for my lawn ，for 1 yard it almost filled up the same trailer, and a lot cheaper without any rocks. I can say they are not very honest business and the price is higher than other places. Stay away from this place

My spouse came home to inform me that after spending the time to pick out roughly $30 in vegetable seeds she was unable to purchase them when she presented a $50 Canadian Bill. Really? To hear that such a store, that appears to be busy with tonnes of merchandise can't or won't make change for a $50 dollar bill. Disappointing. Am I missing something? Are businesses allowed to refuse recognized and legal currency for their own preferences such as credit or debit? I can't understand why when those both cost the merchant money to process. Congrats on a lost sale for not accepting money! Might as well go to Home Depot I guess! We always try to support local first....

We went to Art Knapps in search of a specific cherry tree to plant in honor of my late father’s birthday. When we arrived we found the perfect tree but it was much larger than we had expected. Sheldon came to our rescue and helped us move the tree to the parking lot and then successfully loaded it into our truck. Sheldon was super knowledgeable and friendly and he made us laugh with his funny stories. He gave us helpful tips and hints on caring for our new tree, relaying his many years of experience and passion for horticulture. We just love Art Knapps Nursery for the selection and personal touch! Thanks Sheldon for making what might be a difficult day so much brighter!

I found them expensive but overlooked this, because staff was helpful and Quality exceptional. The reason I gave 3 *** I used of the regular shopping carts ( this is during Covid) .. I cleaned the cart myself. When I got home I took a closer review of the invoice and I noticed a $9.99 charge for what was described as “trailer rental”??? I’m confused? Can anyone explain this? I do not recall any signage that showed you are going to have to pay a fee to use their carts? I know $10 bucks isn’t much money, but if I have to pay $10 each visit it adds up.. now I think maybe I’ll go else for my plants and decor as we are remodeling our back yard????

Most (over 50%) of the plants I have purchased , from Art Knapps, have died within a week of planting them. This has been the case over at least the last 3 years. I have finally decided to express my dislike for their stock of plants. Great place for, over priced ponds supplies, weird clothing, hot spices and British candies... I would not recommend buying plants from this location.

My wife and family recently purchased well over $20K worth of product from this location for our new dream home. One of the owners Ken, was extremely rude through the entire process and treated us like garbage and consistently threw his staff under the bus. We had intended to purchase patio furniture and ended up buying a hot tub and gazebo as well. The sales rep Aiden was wonderful to deal with but after negotiating with him and a hot tub rep from kelowna we negotiated the price of the patio furniture. We then were told by Ken that we only could obtain the price quoted if we purchased the hot tub. After some deliberation we agreed and put down a deposit on both the furniture and hot tub. A few hours later we were called back and said the price should have been more which we said was a deal breaker as we already paid! From this point forward Ken was rude and accused my wife of being abusive to his staff although he was the one blaming them for any issues of which there were several to deal with. This owner is terrible with customer to deal with and did not show an ounce of appreciation or value us as customers.

I purchased a Matt & Nat purse and shoes on October 28, 2020 for my daughter for Christmas, total purchase $240.80. When I enquired if you would honour your refund/return policy in January a supervisor told me no you would not, as you don’t extended your refund/return policy until November. I have been supporting my local retailers during these unprecedented times. As I had already made the purchase I left thinking well you can return them and repurchase them come November. My question to you the owner is will you honour your return/refund policy come January or do I have to make another trip to your store to return these items and repurchase on-line?

Good place to bring the kids on a sunny autumn day. Train ride and maze is a nice touch. Pumpkin patch a bit small but enough for young toddlers. Having the electrical chargers available is a nice touch as well.

Every single plant I've bought from them has had a pest infestation! So heartbroken - spraying insecticide right now and hoping for the best (did a comparison by buying from other nurseries and never had this problem). Not worth the extra cost of the plants (more than double that of Ikea and Home Depot for the same size and plant type). I used to be loyal and didn't even mind paying the extra cost, but never again! Everything else in the store is delightful

Purchased a bamboo palm here roughly 2 weeks ago, I couldn't understand why it kept yellowing and wilting. I did some more digging in the soil and turns out the plant I purchased came with root rot. It's already rotting on the stem, but I couldn't tell at the time of purchase because that part was under the soil! When I changed the soil, you could tell that the plant definitely suffered severe over watering, and barely had any health roots left. Trying to save it now but odds aren't looking great at this point. This is so upsetting too especially because I paid over $140 for a diseased plant!!

When I ended up taking the 321 in the wrong direction earlier today (321 White Rock Center instead of 321 Surrey Central Station) and only realized it by the time I was at the bus stop in front of the Art Knapp, one of the really friendly employees there (an older white-haired but nonetheless very healthy-seeming guy) helped me safely get across the freeway to the 321 Surrey Central Station bus stop on the other side of it. If I must say something about the store itself it looked really nice inside (a serious breath of fresh air compared to the interior design of well enough any other major store I've been to), but that one guy who works there is awesome~ As the bus was coming right as we were finishing crossing the freeway and I had to run for the (correct) bus I kinda (forgot/missed my chance) to give him a "thank you" of any kind, so I'll say it here (hopefully you're reading this awesome sir); seriously, thank you for helping me out today. I have no idea how long I'd have been basically stranded for without your help; I might've ended up having to catch the next wrong bus to get to a better spot to turn around at, which would have been much slower and more embarrassing to boot. I'll have to make a point to come again (intentionally rather than by "oops, wrong bus" next time) and find a few things to buy there.

The place is mega overpriced, got some "climbing rose" 3 years ago, well 3 years later it never got over 2 ft of height.. just visited recently again and the customer service was absolutely horrible ... the old cranky lady at the cash register practically screamed at me when I asked a few questions, very rude and disrespectful not sure what their problem is but sure feels like they need to see a therapist before speaking to customers.

I just left the King George location. While I understand the need for lining up due to covid once I entered the store I was not greeted, then ignored when I approached the cash register. The cashier responded to a question with sarcasm and distaste. Hands down the worse customer service. I proceeded to buy a truck load of gravel even the tractor driver was not friendly or helpful he also spilled a large amount of the load I paid for on the ground and didn’t help shovel it into my truck. Overall extremely rude staff.
