Very good service, but so busy it took 10 minutes to find help. Once we did, our questions were answered and the help we needed was met. The checkout was lined up. Only two checkouts were open, but after we lined up they opened two more checkouts. All staff we met were friendly, courteous and helpful! I would recommend this store.

I am the owner/operator of The Convent Guesthouse in Trepassey NL. For 5 months I worked to repurpose a former Irish convent into a guesthouse and would drive once a week to Kent on Stavanger to source my materials. Marc at the Project Desk, Bill in Plumbing, Jonathan in the Paint Department, Rene in Accounts, Colleen and Mark at the Customer Service Desk in particular were extremely helpful, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Kent certainly has a dream team on staff at this location!

I think she hates her job .. gonna video tape her sometime and let her go famous.. and there is always staff in thw womens washroom talking on the phone It never ends. Spend 14 minutes on hold and then he hangs up... impossible to speak to someone Today's kent adventure... we walk in the door my husband has a pop can ,he went to put the can in the garbage. And the cashier says i"s there any pop in there , my husband says there might be a drop".She says well it doesn't go in there . What is wrong with this place? It's like everytime we come here .... by the time you get past the big blotchy cashier .. your mood is ruined for shopping Today's kent entertainment .. "over"

Update February 1st 2021. The customer service has actually improved. I've dealt with this particular store quite a bit and I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They can get pretty busy but there's usually not much of a wait for help. They have a huge selection in a tastefully laid out store. it is becoming more overcrowded with merchandise than it used to be which makes it annoying getting around with carts.

When in St. John's and find yourself in need of lumber/hardware supplies this is the place. Just moved to an apartment in St. John's a couple of months ago and needed some space saving storage, this is a well stocked, clean, organized outlet with friendly knowledgeable staff. Was a Home Depot/Rona user on the prairies but here Kent is the obvious place to go.

This is one of only a couple of places that I go when I need to do a quick chore around the house. They often have what I am looking for, the prices are good most times and the quality is solid. I have not really had any major issues with the place but nothing exceptional. Overall, a good, solid business with a lot of parking.

Excellent customer service - last year we bought a shower, last week we had it installed. You can imagine our dismay when the workers called to say we were missing the side glass panels. So with no bill, I headed out to Kent's with my fingers crossed. The only questions they asked were to identify which shower unit we had bought. They quickly identified the unit, found they had no more in stock, phoned the manufacturer who were also out. They found 2 units in their Dartmouth store, one is being couriered to me. How good is that?

Very well marked isles. The overall size and layout of the store makes social distancing easier. The staff are helpful and even the staff assistance areas are maked and flagged to help with social distancing. The checkout area has two entry areas which seemed to confuse some shoppers at first but it appears to have been adjusted between last last two visits.

Visited Kent to look at some hardwood flooring. The service rep was a great help and even gave me several pieces to take home and see which one we might like. The next day we when back and got a great deal on our flooring. A young guy working there gave me a hand to load up my cart and then load it aboard the truck. He even helped me cover it up to prevent it from getting wet on the highway. I always enjoy visiting Kent and always get great service. Well done again!

Will someone needs to inform them that life goes on and there more to life than covid 19. By now Kent's are very well informed of the requirements and they need to have all their cash up and operating or get read of them because they are taken up space. If they were up and running it would not take so bloody long to get in and get out plus the lineups would not be so long

Kent is a well stocked, tidy store. A great place to shop for a large variety of hardware and building supplies. However they can be pricey. If you are looking for specific items be sure to check out the competition. I found an item for $2.50 at another store that was $10.79 at Kent.

So I went to my local Kent store yesterday to find the simplest of hardware items, a hand tamper. After some searching, I checked the Kent website to see if there might be an indication of where in the store I could find it. While I didn't find that info I did discover that the item was in stock and was also 15 per cent off on the website. I asked an associate where they were and he helpfully led the way. I brought it to the checkout, encouraged by my experience so far and handed it to the cashier, also proudly declaring that it was 15% off on the website, assuming it would also be 15% off in store. It was not. Here's a summary of the ensuing conversation: Me: why isn't it 15% off here in store? Him: we don't honor our website prices. Me: I'm sorry, what? But you have a Price Guarantee don't you? Him: Yes, but not for OUR website. Me: But for other websites? Him: Yes, but not ours. Me: So you're telling me that if this was on sale at canadiantire.ca that you'd honor the web price? Him: Yes. Me: ???? [Escalates to Manager] Me/Manager: [repeat conversation above] Me: And you think that's reasonable? Mgr: No. Me: So you'll honor the discount? Mgr: No, we can't do that. Me: ???? [drops tamper, leaves disgusted] There is no hope for the planet.

A downspout tore loose from the eavestrough on my house in a wind storm, leaving a gaping hole larger than the screw in the short down piece on the eavestrough that attaches to the downspout. I am not a handyman. I thought I'd have to replace the welded part, but Stan at the service desk suggested simply using a tapping screw to attach the two pieces. Then he walked me over to the aisle and helped me find the screw I needed. Friendly and excellent service that did not intimidate.
