I recently moved here and, as a gardener, one must of course get the lay of the land in terms of nursuries for plants and for supplies. Holland is beautiful, with full greenhouses and also some great local gifts and books. I found all of the supplies that I will need for my garden here. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful to our questions. I will be back!

Holland Nurseries have been helping People with their flowers and garden needs in St. John's for a very very long time. Flower arrangements seem to be a little more expensive then what you can buy at the floral department of major supermarkets but frankly the quality is significantly better and the product lasts in your house much longer. This is a full service nursery that can meet all your garden needs and can provide excellent advice.

I bought a croton and a schefflera from here and couldn't be happier! Both have done amazing in my home and staff were so helpful. My schefflera developed some mites and they were able to diagnose it right away and gave me some free pesticide to clear up the problem. Very responsive, knowledgeable, and kind. Wouldn't buy plants anywhere else in town.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! And in the spring/summer a huge greenhouse with lots of selection. A few bits of the greenhouse open in winter months and the selection is good for those too.

First of all, I'd like to say what kind of JOKE this place is. I ordered The Beautiful In Blue bouquet with 'DELUXE' which should have been 'beautiful' blooms such as hydrangea, crème roses, white lilies, alstroemeria and Daisy's which were suppose to be beautifully arranged with premium floral greenery and accent flowers in a dazzling cobalt blue vase. Unfortunately, that's NOT what I got. (See pic) I also ordered 1 balloon and chocolates as well. She didn't even get the balloons. Ughh.. This was suppose to be a very special day for my sister. It's her birthday and this bouquet was to represent strength, sympathy (the passing of her ex husbandand) and happy wishes. These flowers are embarrassing and a complete insult to me. This is a rip off and not what I paid for. How do you think this is even okay to send to someone?? They're not even properly arranged and looks like some kid just hand picked them and put them in a vase. This is unacceptable. I paid $140.00 for this with an upgrade. This Newfoundland Florists place is misleading and false advertises. How was this allowed to even happen?? Save your money and go to a grocery store to buy your flowers. I'm so very disappointed right now.

What a beautiful place! So so so many beautiful plants and flowers and they even have some cactus! The staff are all so sweet and kind and have an amazing knowledge of the plants in there care! The also have a nice select of pots and alot of very affordable ones as well. What a great place to buy your plants or even some seeds and lots more! A excellent place to visit just for the pure beauty of it!

We went online to purchase an arrangement and we decided to up grade to a deluxe, huge mistake, the arrangement wasn't what we expected, for 87.00 pft plus additional 10.00 delivery fee (which is fine) so we email the owner, he called us and seen the pictures and was very helpful and offered to send a new arrangement to our mother, which were what we expected. Gorgeous arrangement and we were not expecting that. Thanks holland nurseries, at first were we disappointed, but very satisfied ????

I recently visited your store to purchase a Grape Ivy and a Peace Lily. I didn't find the grape Ivy, however I found a goldfish plant instead. I am pleased with both plants. I was disappointed with the 2 front staff women. They were conversing at the till. I was the only customer in the store and I had a toddler with me. When I asked where things were they explained rather guide me there. I finally asked one to please show me. After my purchase of 2 big plants and 2 bags of potting soil I made the first trip to the car as I had to also carry the small child. . Upon returning for the 2nd load I did ask for help with the bags. They seemed completely oblivious to my needs. I will probably choose another nursery before returning to Holland nursery.

I had the worst customer service experience here (out of 4 places) for a wedding flower consultation. Alarm bells should have warned me off of going here when the consultant asked me to call her the morning of our appointment to remind her about it. It was very difficult to get information out of her - I didn't really know what to ask, since I don't know anything about flowers, but it somehow still felt like I had to drag information out of her. She gave me a quote based on a photo I showed her for inspiration, without any discussion of how much each flower cost, how many of each flower would be in the bouquets, what kind of greenery options there were. She didn't show me any flowers they had in store. I was there for 10 minutes maybe, and it was a complete waste of my time. I do not recommend going here for wedding flowers.

I ordered flowers and chocolates on the Tuesday before Mother’s Day. On Friday, I was notified that Holland’s oversold my specific arrangement and needed to substitute another vase. No problem here, that happens and a solution was presented. The flowers were delivered on Saturday. They forgot the chocolates, so I called Holland’s and they offered to deliver those on the same day. When I looked at the flower arrangement more closely and compared it to the picture of what I actually ordered, I noticed that it was sparse and not full (see picture). The picture showed 9 roses and I received 5. Likewise, there were fewer of the other flower-types (daisies, carnations and lilies). I had specifically ordered and pre-paid for the “premium” size, which is Holland’s term for their largest arrangement. I was obviously given one of the smaller sized arrangements. I notified Holland’s of the mistake, and they offered to send out 4 more roses. I declined this option since I’m not great at modifying an arrangement to make it look presentable for my wife. Also, I had errands on Saturday and couldn’t spend all day waiting for flowers and chocolates (they declined to leave the items on my front step - against their policy). We finally agreed they would do another arrangement and deliver the flowers on Sunday (Mother’s Day) and that I would give my current arrangement back. The new arrangement was delivered on Sunday. This time I had 9 roses, but the lilies weren’t in bloom and they omitted the carnations and daisies altogether. I showed my wife this arrangement and she agreed it did not look appealing (see the picture again for Holland’s second attempt at their arrangement). Finally I brought the arrangement back to Holland’s and asked for a refund. They were hesitant to grant this request, but finally relented. I buy flowers for my wife at every occasion and purchase table arrangements for different seasons. I always stick with the two flower shops in the East End. The other florist is more expensive, but their quality and service more than make up for the additional price. Save yourself the hassle and pay a little more to get a nicer arrangement with superior costumer service.

I found Holland Nurseries while looking to buy my Mum some flowers last minute. I told the staff I wasn't very experienced with floral arrangements and they were very friendly and accommodating. I found them to be very transparent while they tried their best to help me find what I was looking for within my budget. I would highly recommend them! They have a wide selection of arrangements and I even saw some fun looking succulents if you’re looking to shop for pleasure. It took me a week to find them and I can't say I found a place that came close to matching their selection in that time. Thanks again! My Mum loved them!

The customer service is very poor. On one occasion I called ahead to check for a item in stock, it was in, then when i showed up to get it, it wasnt there and would have to be ordered. Spoke to the gentleman that I was on the phone with, and bascially called me a liar. Second time I called looking for two more products and they said they have some products in stock, but couldnt verify exactly what I was looking for.. Will not be returning under no circumstances

Good floral arrangement, service was absolutely terrible. When delivered (5 hours late) it did not have the complete order. I know it's reasonable for someone to mess up an order so that was alright. When arrangements were made to receive the rest of the order they simply did not show up that day and didn't call. A strew of calls and emails later they finally completed the order. There mission of satisfaction guaranteed is a joke. No apologies or talks of discount or anything was offered. In summary a great product but terrible service. If you want a headache, call these guys.

I ordered flowers last minute for my mom's birthday. I called first to ask if same day delivery was an option and I was kindly informed that it was. I then visited their website (which was very easy to use) to order my mom's flowers. The flowers arrived at my mom's door within a couple of hours and the arrangement was beautiful! It was easy to tell that lots of pride went into her flower arrangement. Since I couldn't deliver the flowers myself like I would like to (I live out of province), I was grateful that so much care and thought went into her arrangement. I will definitely be ordering from them in the future.

My mother told me she explained to the young woman on the phone what colours and flowers I liked and she said "leave it to me, I know what you are looking for!" I purchased a Mande villa plant, but unfortunately, when I got home I realized the plant had Spider mites. I went back with it and they offered to treat it for me or give me a refund. I absolutely loved this plant so I opted for them to treat it. They called me back about a week later and I picked up my dead looking plant lol that I was excited to nurse back to life... After having it home for a few days I noticed there was spider mites crawling on it again!! Very disappointed. Staff is great, very knowledgeable and friendly... insects are nasty little buggers and are to be expect but the fact they treated it and called me before making sure the mites were gone is very alarming to me.

Bought a single rose. Cashier never asked if I wanted wrapped or anything and just left after accepting payment. I had to ask them back to do a second transaction for the wrappings. Then the extra flowers wrap were not what I'm used to getting I've purchased hundreds of roses like this. It was unusual wrap and just odd the cashier never asked if I'd like it wrapped when I bought it
