It's Denny's, what can you say really. If you've eaten at one, you've eaten at them all. If you're looking for a meal at 3:30 in the morning and you don't want it to be served in a bag or a box, this is about your only option. I've had good service the few times I've been there.

This was only our third dine in experience since the start of the pandemic so we went early to avoid possible breakfast crowds. We wore masks until we were seated. Staff were wearing masks/shields. We were seated well away from others. Food was delicious and service was fast.

Cutlery and dishes were dirty. Over an hour and counting and still haven’t gotten our food. Staff is not in any way apologetic for the long waits. Go to A&W instead. Also, the bathroom smells like a farm.

I have had a variety of servers here, and many have been wonderful, but tonight we had just an incredible experience with Dori as our server! She had the most warm and kind demeanor, and served us in a timely and friendly manner. We thoroughly appreciated seeing her expertly discern when a table was open to conversation and when a table didn't want that, and weave in and out of conversation with proficient warmth and professionalism. And the food was fantastic! Love that we can always count on about the same quality from visit to visit with an affordable price tag!

Overpriced mediocrity. Burnt hashbrowns, rubbery omlette and $3.00 coffee? Slow service too. Took 15 minutes to get our drinks after being seated and another 40 for our food. There was only 3 of us there and we didn't order anything custom. The highlight of my visit - asking my server for another creamer for my coffee and her giving me one off the plate of a neighboring table that had finished eating and left! Save your $$ and make yourself breakfast :)

We love Dennys and as it is our regular late night dinning choice but Dennys in Vernon has been quite the disappointment on numerous occasions when it comes to customizing orders. 7 of 9 times they have gotten our orders wrong where our meals have come with missing ingredients, ingredients we specifically asked to not have included or over easy eggs coming slimy and undercooked. We spend a lot of time on the road and frequent Dennys in numerous other towns but this place has gotten it wrong more times than they have gotten it right.

We always feel covid safe coming here with our elderly mother. Staff is so friendly. Sandy, Miss Laura, Betty, can’t name them all, they know what they are doing. We love the breakfast food the most. Keep up the good work all! Recommend this place highly!

2 adults and two children. We all had different things, we were not really an easy group. Everything was bang on except one minor egg switch was needed and the food was excellent. Slow service. Waiting 30 + minutes for spagetti (heating food thats already prepped ) Not offered water. Why is spagheti portion so small. Its cooked noodles and meat sauce. The meat taste stale like it was made from old burger meat and frozen than cooked. No service provided considering I was the only one here after my food came. No offer for dessert. Or water refill.

On our visit, one of the waitresses was obviously having a bad day. She make inappropriate comments about a table, to a customer seated at the bar style counter. Dropped the f-bomb within earshot of our table (where we were sat with our 5 year old).. We'll probably go again because the food is good... But, the employees could use some work. (extra staff would probably help reduce the stress)

Came in for a late afternoon breakfast. Was seated quickly despite the line up at the cashier. The server was very pleasant, the food exactly what I expected, cooked and presented properly. Last night at 11pm after a long day on the road we called to see if we might order pick up as delivery was closed. I was difficult and just wanted a cheese omelette and a shake, hubby a skillet. Yes! Denny's is often regarded as the drunk man's breakfast, but at least for this particular Vernon denny's, I could not disagree more. The atmosphere is a perfect breakfast setting, and their delicious food reflects it. Even though it is the shining gem of breakfast joints, I must say the meals also work quite well for lunch and even dinner, even though they are typically breakfast foods. Godspeed to you denny's.

It is just okay.....the food is good but not excellent. Our friend ordered a hamburger with fries. The meat had not been properly cooked..was still raw inside...and he had stomach problems afterward. Not a good recommendation for a restaurant.

Our first night in Vernon after a very long trip from New Zealand we were served by Dori, she was absolutely incredible and attentive not to mention the food was also great! So much so we went back the next night, and again Dori’s service and the food was perfect! Will definitely be here again.

Was there at 12:30am. Ordered the Smokey gouda prime rib and broccoli skillet. The rice and meat was way over cooked and dry(the rice was actually crunchy!) there was almost no gouda sauce, and the portion size was literally half the size of the exact same meal in kelowna. There was no heat glove on the skillet handle and it took over half an hour for us to get our food. The waitress was doing the best she could but it was seriously under staffed.

Don't ever work for them, can't keep cooks to save their life, the assistant manager is a bit over bearing and hovers a lot but she means well and more than fair and is an amazing teacher, ... the manger is a whole different story , rudely snapped at me when I was sent there by work bc , and when I asked for an apology for the rude treatment .. I was fired , thats not all , she even lied to the lady at work bc on how and why i was fired claming I burst in when the door was closed... I'm sorry but 200 dollars says if we look at the video footage that door was wide open .

Had a simple request for some chips n salsa with an order of onion rings. waitress refused to ask if I could order a single side of chips n salsa from the kitchen and wanted me to get a combo platter which would include it... I was not hungry enough for a 3 item platter... so I asked just for the onion rings if she wouldn't ask the kitchen. I also ordered tea and took me 3 times to ask her for milk n sweetener for my tea before she finally brought it. Then meals were brought to my friends and since the waitress forgot to order my onion rings all together, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my food while my dinner companions ate their meals. My whole issue with this is the fact that it would have taken just a few minutes to ask the kitchen for a side of chips n salsa and what to charge for it. The younger wait staff these days have no clue what customer service is anymore and refuse to go the extra inch to help accomodate a customer. Shameful....

We eat in at Denny's often when we visit Vernon. Most of the time its pretty good. Staff has always been good + friendly. This time our food arrived cold, coffee was even barely warm. Waffles were cold, didn't even melt the butter. Hash browns and eggs cold. It was disappointing. Not sure if they were short cooks as we waited longer than usual too.

The food was great. I had a mushroom swiss burger cooked perfectly and made to exactly what I had wanted. The atmosphere felt homey, it was NOT like a cafetaria where there are bright lights lol. The only thing that bothered me is the waitress, she took our order and brought the food. That was the last we saw of her. She didn't say if she was if work or going on a break or anything. $3.19 for a glass of Coke which includes refills but no waitress no refills. Tsk tsk. We had to ask another waitress, who was busy with her own tables, for our bill.

Excellent place for breakfast. Location is great as it's on the main highway. Service was quick and breakfast was delicious. I had the Grand slam with pancakes, scrambked eggs, bacon and shredded potatoes. My partner has the all American with sour dough toast, sausages, eggs and potatoes. Everything was fantastic! They also have free WiFi and free breakfast on your birthday (must show ID). They're in compliance with covid protocol. Can't go wrong with Denny's all day breakfast. Highly recommend!

We were rather frustrated last time we visited. We were on a house-hunting trip and stopped at Denny's specifically because we knew they offered free wifi to customers and we wanted to check out some listing info. We were pleased to find that they've added plug-ins at all of the booths, but neither the staff nor the manager on duty knew anything about how to connect to the internet (in fact, they seemed puzzled by the question even though there's a sign right on their door that says 'free wifi'). The network they said to look for wasn't visible. They suggested trying some of the other visible networks, but all were locked and they didn't have the passwords for them. The manager's answer to our questions about which network to use was to hold up his phone and say that he didn't have a network on his phone. If we hadn't already ordered, we would have left. As it it was, we ended up going to a Tim Horton's afterwards to get wifi. Next time we'll just skip Denny's.

Usually enjoy Denny’s but today was awful. We ordered pickup on skip, when we got our food right from the store the milkshake was already melted. We didn’t want to go back in because it has already taken a long time. Then we got home about a 2 minute drive and opened our food, my burger was soaked, disgusting just to grab, with a puddle underneath it. The fries are undercooked and the burger does not taste good at all. Worst Denny’s experience I have had.

Okay food but the prices are too high and the value just isn't there. They charge for substitutions on the breakfast meals which is kind of annoying and a cup of coffee is $3, which given the size of the cup and quality of the coffee is crazy. The restaurant is a little run down and some of the dishes and cutlery came out dirty. In short: It feels just like every Denny's has for the last 20 years, so if you've ever been to one before you know exactly what you're going to get, which is why I went in the first place but I'm in no hurry to return for another visit.

I ordered loaded nacho tots for pickup from this location. It's the second time that I didn't receive enough gravy. It's of no use to order loaded nacho tots when they have to be so dry and undercooked. Last month I was dining in, I ordered the same thing and it turned out better than what they give to the pickup customers. I think their standards and quality decreases when they see that the person is ordering for take out. The lady at the front who took the payment from me didn't bother to offer me a receipt. The product and its quality should be the same for dine in and take out customers; no matter what, they are all paying for it!

There are only 2 gals who deserve a 5 star for putting up with management at Dennys. Ever since Sharon and Amanda left, plus the renovations, management has brought Dennys down to an all time low. My friends and I used to go to Dennys 3-5 days a week. Now we are lucky if we go once every 2-3 weeks!!! Dennys Head Office has no clue how to keep good employees!!!!!! UPDATE AS OF JAN-2020... Refuse to even go to Dennys at all. The price of food keeps going up but the taste is very bland, plus the portion sizes, are not worth the extra pricing. Customer service is terrible. My friends and I, are lucky if we go once every 6 mths...and thats being generous!!!!!!!????

Just had a restaurant nightmare experience at Dennys in Vernon. My mind is blown mom wanted fish n chips and the waitress recommended she not lol. We left no way I was trusting the food. Manager wanted us to stay and have free food but my stomach was already turned off

Went into dennys this evening to have dinner. Busy this evening, was expecting this due to the current wildfire situation. Had an amazing experience. Our server Nikki had advised us that it was seniors night, saved us a little.money there. Thank you Nikki. She seemed to be dealing with multiple situations and still kept a smile on her face, even under her mask. She did advise us that there was another server there that wasnt familiar with the section she was in as she is new, so given the situation, Nikki you did an amazing job. We did overhear that one lady wasnt happy with the service, which we were very surprised. Lady go to a fast food joint if you want quick food and faster service. Put yourself in her shoes and dont be so nasty. Keep up the great service Nikki. you were awesome. We will be back and make sure we see you again Cheers

Absolutely love it here, I currently work here my names Alex and the management is awesome as well as the staff! Customers Are always great that come and go so I highly recommend coming in and eating here or even desserts! We make sure everything is clean and safe for you and for kids and I personally suggest the poutine add two chicken tenders on the side and break it up into it, then cover with more gravy and mwuah perfection ???? just needed to let people know how great it is here and how much i love working here.

The food was terrible. I didn't think you could mess up a ham and cheese omelet. Mine was cold on 1st bite, 3rd bite looked down and the cheese wasn't all melted. I had to repeatedly ask for basic condiments and extra napkin. I had tea with honey 1st honey was leaking honey same with the 2nd. I left with most of my meal unfinished. The hashbrowns was the only thing I ate the most of. I felt for the cashier who was telling the other staff member what to do yet he was the one who was bringing me what I asked. The other did his service with very little effort put in to it. It was minimal effort at best. I was very impressed with the guy who was trying to do both jobs. He was keeping his composer and working very hard to keep everything moving. I dislike not leaving a tip. It is hard to tip when the service wasn't great. That was the best way I could show how I felt for the service. ????????

Horrible service, waited a long time for a waiter to come to our table and they didn’t even bring water to our table. Even when we waited 10 minutes for water, we finally left and the thing that pissed me off most was that they didn’t even make eye contact with us even when they walked past us multiple times. The staff is sometimes overtaxed with all the extra people that have been evacuated because of the forest fire, but they are all extremely hard working and very pleasant and accommodating people. There was no option for negative stars but my husband and I had ordered to go, Loaded Nacho Tots, chocolate pancake puppies, slam burger with seasoned fries, and moons (without a side). $60 for food that was not right. The nacho tots were burnt, and only had bacon on them. No cheese, no nacho meat, no jalapeños. Hashbrowns and fries for the slam burger were undercooked and mushy. There was no icing packed for the puppies. The only thing that was remotely edible was the moons sandwich and even that was sub par. The worst experience to date at any dennys restaurant, and we have been coming here for years. Needless to say, $60 wasted and we will not be coming back to this location.

Nikki the server is horribly rude as I returned my pick up order 1 minute after receiving it. the "nachos" - some dry chips in a tub with a side of salso/cheese that had no doubt sat under the heat lamp for over 10 minutes. I explained to the evening manager that it was unacceptable to even attempt to try and eat the congealed blob and the manager agreed and then to top it off from across the restaurant yells Karen, " I told you so" when in fact she said nothing about nachos being so disgusting. Hopefully management gains control of this place, I was so disgusted they can keep my 15$ and use it for something good in the community

The people who work here are incredible! I lost a gold bracelet last weekend, I was devistated. I had no idea when or where it had gone missing but grasping at straws, I called Denny's as we had gone there for breakfast Saturday. I spoke to Bertha, then Ann, the manager. She said she would keep an eye out. Ann called yesterday - I got my bracelet back! I'm over the moon. Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with that happening! On top of it all, the meal we had was exceptional, and the service top notch. You can bet whenever we're in Vernon Denny's is our restaurant of choice. They were really busy this morning being it was as just before noon on a Sunday however, the staff were calm, cool and collected. My server Brittany was authentic, kind and honest when she mixed up my table (not a big deal at all). She was quick and the service was lovely. The food was perfect. I always get a consistently good breakfast here. The management was excellent, addressing the table beside me with genuine concern when they ordered Mac and cheese but ran out. Well done! It was especially nice to see everyone’s faces. My only suggestion would be to have plug in air fresheners in the washrooms.

Only thing good about my experience was the food. The atmosphere was anything but relaxing. I listened to the two staff members yell across the room 8 to 10 meters apart to have a conversation, and the (waitress, and manager) slamming trays, cutlery, dishes was beyond necessary noise. I've worked in service and would never behave like customers weren't in the room. The "manager" was having a snarky loud conversation on the phone then giving the play by play to the other staff member about how the system wasn't working and what the other person said, but yelling all of this across the room, while I sat between this aim of fire. I was one of two customers in the place at 10pm and felt like these two didn't care about my peaceful existence other than demanding me to leave and pay the bill, so the one could cash out and go home. Exceptionally rude, I was actually shaken by my treatment. Management needs to change: exceptionally inconsiderate, immature, narcissistic behaviour by people who should not be left in charge.

If I could give negative stars I would. The waitress was nice, I appreciated the good customer service. The food was wrong when I first got it. I asked for specific things on my burger and they gave me different toppings anyway. They re made the burger. It was even worse. It was completely soggy. WAY TOO MUCH. They did not even put on the toppings I asked for the second time. They can’t get anything right at Denny’s. Money well wasted! NEVER going to Denny’s again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

We visited Vernon Denny’s. Our server Dori is amazing. She has a great personality and made great recommendations when the bourbon chicken dish we ordered was out of red potatoes. The kitchen chef wanted to replace the missing potatoes with hash browns and she said no way and came over to recommend rice instead. The dish was so good and she saved it for us. The whole meal was cold by the time it reached us. We only saw our waitress twice, to take our order and to thank us for coming while we were at the cashier to pay. I watched our food sit waiting to be brought to us for about 10 minutes before another waitress brought it to us. It was over 25 minutes from placing the order to receiving it. Although a third waitress took coffee around, I had to flag someone over for my wife to get a refill. The pancakes were also not fully cooked; there was raw batter in the center. When we brought our concerns up to the manager, she was only interested in giving us a gift voucher. She just made excuses. At first she blamed the kitchen, saying they were short staffed there. When we pointed out how long our food waited at the window, she blamed being short staffed on the floor although the restaurant was not very busy when we got there. There were maybe 5-6 tables occupied. The manager said that she should have been watching service but until we asked to see her, she was nowhere to be seen. Overall, a horrendous dining experience for us and an embarrassment for Dennys.

I had ordered hard based eggs, 4 strips of turkey bacon and a bowl of fresh fruit. The fruit had come at the beginning of my meal and the bacon and eggs shortly there after. The eggs were soft in the middle and the bacon very crunchy INITIALLY... Betty and her manager were very very helpful! And my order was returned to me with ANOTHER BOWL of fruit, and my eggs done hard and the bacon done to perfection. All of the staff and the environment are very COVID friendly, courteous, and were so very helpful making certain my order was perfect! Might I add... the two bowls of fruit I received were both freshly cut, perfect ripeness, and done in the most sanitary of conditions (even deliver with gloves on!) great job team and most honourable mention to me server Betty! She smiled and was so amazing through the entire experience!

Worst experience we have ever had at a Danny's Restaurant. I asked for no toast the waitress asked if I would like tomato sliced in stead I said yes thank you. She brought the meals and there was brown toast and tomato slices. I said I asked for no toast and she said no you didn't back and forth... She said well I can take the toast back and get you the hash browns. There is no way I would send anything back its a waste of food and who knows what kind of a person she is. So I start eating my omelet which I was so looking forward to and they used cheese slices in the omelet it was not good and I now feel sick to my stomach so does my husband who finished my omelet. The best part of my meal was the Orange juice. Sad but true!!! We went to Tim hortons yesterday and all are for $35.00 half the price of this meal and it was delicious. He only gave me half an order and charged me for full and refused to give me dipping sauce even though it was included in the meal description. I would think that it would be standard procedure to either discount meal or comp it after you drop a cup of pop on the floor and splatter a customer. I have pop in my hair and eye, all over my face, clothes, plate and purse. All I get is a oh sorry. Didn't even clean up my table so I wasn't having to dodge splatter marks while I tried to finish my soggy meal. Not happy.

Used to be good until a couple months ago. I hear from friends that their staff are terribly managed, people are always quitting. Service had always been corny but good, but now its corny and unacceptably poor, servers don't come to you for at least 20 minutes to take your order even if it's slow. They changed the menu for whatever reason and got rid of over half of what is usually offered. Food portions are getting smaller and smaller and lack consistency, like why are the nachos served differently every time I come here. The person who's supposed to be manager doesn't really know what he/she is doing half the time and seems extremely inexperienced. I've found myself not wanting to tip servers here anymore. As a person who has been a server myself, this is just disappointing.

Recent renovation has updated the decor, but the washrooms are one stall each for men and women. No unisex bathroom here. It's still the same great food, but on a recent visit the service was terrible, as was the coffee. My server, an older woman, brought my bill right after my food. At first I thought she did this because she was going off her shift. Nope! She was around for a while after that and basically ignored me. Even one of her coworkers, who came by with a coffee pot, didn't ask me if I wanted more; just walked by. And that was after she had offered coffee to other tables around me. Didn't tip.

The food was what I was expecting. I went for a take away order, and the time it took for it to be input in their system was very quick. And accurate, that is except for my Seasonal Fruit side, that was missed. Even with that little mistake I enjoyed the rest of my order. Great little greasy spoon. And since it is open 24 hours, you can't go wrong. I really was looking for something that wasn't just drive thru. Still super happy and no regrets. I often wonder when I'm asked to share my opinion, how it will be received. Denny's restaurant in Vernon is in need of a lot but also has a lot. The 3 stars are for the establishment. On entering, the restaurant is in dire need of renovations. Dirty carpets that are beyond the aide of a vacuum cleaner. Tables that are so worn they are almost unpleasant to sit at. Tha half walls between booths are sticky with finishes that are breaking down. Once seated, the staff are a seemingly cohesive and happy crew. They have to deal with the most unpleasant of society along with many gracious customers who appreciate what they do for them as customers as well as the business itself. So, Denny's Vernon owners... consider renovating. Servers, thank you making my many visits as comfortable as you can. You are remarkable people and to you I give 5 stars. friendly fast service .. but the food for me was ok not but not great. chicken fried steak was over cooked and hardly any gravy on it . hash browns were over cooked and kinda raw at the same time if that's possible . eggs were about par for the plate . I still ate it so how bad could it have been ? Maybe I'll try again next time I'm In town . ( from Chemainus )

Update on 2nd outing: Hashbrown portion size was bigger, and a side of 2 buttermilk pancakes was only a charge of 1.59. I was expecting at least 5 bucks. It was a very pleasant surprise! Waitress Brook B. checked in on us frequently. We had a good brunch here. Great covid protocols here. There are shields between booths. Cake batter milkshake and veggie omelette were excellent. I wish hashbrowns portion was larger. Great dine in experience overall.

My husband and I were visiting Vernon and came in at around 9:30 PM. There were lots of delivery app orders in the que so I appreciated the server telling us it would take a bit of time for our food. It was well worth the wait! We both love Denny's but the food can be a hit or a miss depending on location. Everything here was fresh, delicious and piping hot. There was only one gentleman in the kitchen and he did a fantastic job. Despite the many orders, he still produced a high quality product. Our server was also lovely and attentive. I completely forgot to ask her name or take my receipt but whoever was working Saturday, June 26th closing shift was great :) I only wish we could come in again. But if ever we are in Vernon, we certainly will! Thanks for such a yummy meal!

Today I was served a wonderful breakfast by an even more wonderful woman, Betty! My hubby ordered a burger for breakfast..which understandably took a little longer than my breakfast but Betty made sure to bring out my brunch poutine early so I wasn’t left hangry, which was much appreciated and not expected ❤️ The food and staff are awesome! Dori is the best server I have had in forever. She’s the strongest swimmer in the restaurant (lol all kidding aside) she was super pleasant and we enjoyed her quirky ways. Thanks Dori we will definitely be back. Oh ya food was great tonight too.
