I have used Hometurf for 3 years and have been very happy with their service. There is a noticeable reduction in the number of weeds in my lawn. They have always been responsive and professional to deal with. I've signed up with them for another season.

Will be canceling my contract for 2022, this service is useless. Had my grass re-sodded in 2020 and signed up with Hometurf in January 2021 for the complete package. Package should include "season-long weed control, fertilization, surface insect control, aeration and overseeding". As of May 20th the only thing that has been done is a walk-around in early April with a broadcast spreader for fertilizer. No weed control application has been performed. When I finally got a hold of the company's customer service team, they said that weed control isn't currently being done and might be done in June, "weather permitting." I see from reading other reviews that they copy/paste the same spiel to all their clients. To wait until "maybe June" for the first round of weed control is insanity. With this gorgeous weather, dandelions and thistle are obviously growing out of control. So I've ordered my own weed control products and will be taking care of my own lawn going forward. Company does not offer refunds and I won't even bother wasting more time trying to contact them for one. Hometurf will copy/paste a generic reply below making excuses about a busy season and asking me to contact them via e-mail. This is obviously a useless gesture that will accomplish nothing but waste more of my time. Hometurf - unless your response is an offer of a refund, don't bother replying.

I have been a customer of Hometurf for over 6 years when we moved into this home. Our lawn back there was horrible with weeds and dirt patches and was poorly maintained. Within a couple of months of using Hometurf, our lawn did a complete 180! We have recommended their services to our family and friends who have complimented us on our lawn. They are fairly priced, professional, reliable and come out when they say they will. Please keep up the great work HOMETURF!

DO NOT USE THEM! I pre-paid for a service with 6 treatments, they came out 5 times and when I called to ask when and why they haven't come out yet, I'm told it's because I didn't call them to ask...for a service I paid for, have an invoice for and keep getting emails saying that 'we're behind on completing treatments but should have complete for mid-November'. So I am out the funds for a service I never received and told it's my fault. Decades of lawncare service usage and this has never been a thing. Yet they want me to auto-renew now for next year? Cancelled my service and reporting to the BBB.

Not sure what is going on with the company. I paid $350 for a plan that was supposed to be comprehensive. I have more dandelions than I have ever had in the past. Repeated calls and all I get are busy signals. Anyone else getting this? I am tempted to just drive to the office. I have emailed and filled in the online contact form. Still no reply. Unless things change drastically, I will not be a returning customer. UPDATE - They did reply to emails and have been out to spray twice since this review. Still not sure if I will renew the service.

My mom has been using Hometurf for years and was always happy with their service. When the weeds got out of control on my lawn I contacted them right away. Now that we have used them for a full season I can definitely recommend them. Over the course of the summer we noticed a reduction in the weeds and that our lawn was really filling in. We couldn't be happier with the results and are excited to see how much better our lawn will be next year

I have now been using Hometurf for 2 years and I have seen a huge improvement in my lawn. Previously I would spend hours picking weeds and everyone told me spraying wouldn't work. They couldn't be more wrong. I had very little weeds this year without any work and when there were any issues, Hometurf would return and spray the impacted areas. Great service and friendly workers. Would recommend.

I signed up for the ‘Complete Package’ which is their best package that includes fertilizer + weed control + over seeding + aeration + insect control. They haven’t done over seeding, aeration and insect control yet and its June now (these things are always being done in late April or early May). I have sent them two emails but they never reply. Upon calling them, they have same answer (in unfriendly tone) that they will do anytime before October!! Seriously.........October????? I don’t think these people even know anything about lawn treatment. I will make sure not to use these people again and also I will spread the word as much as possible. I have an App on my phone (Nextdoor App) that connects us with entire neighbourhood. I am also going to post the warning about this company there so my entire neighborhood can know about them.

Waste of money. They will spray weed control on your backyard 4 times a year. That's it. The chemical aeration doesn't work and I still have the same problems as before. It will not make any difference. They asked me for feedback, I gave them and they told me that it will add extra applications. It didn't happen. We are close to the end of October and they want to renew to the next year already and I am waiting for my aeration. Other companies did on my neighbours in May and I am still waiting. I don't recommend it. I would like to have my money back. I will do it myself next year.

We've been customers of Hometurf for a few years now. They've always provided on-time service and our lawn looks good each and every season. We have a dog so I like that Hometurf is pet-friendly to a certain extent. Our dog just has to stay off the lawn for the day. The Hometurf technicians are respectful of our property and leave it just the way it was before they arrived. I would recommend Hometurf to anyone.

We use Hometurf Lawn Care every year! We like that they are efficient and professional and they are respectful of our request to always close the backyard gate when they're done. Unlike some other lawn care companies, they don't inundate you with phone calls to upgrade our services or to renew. I would recommend them.

I was a happy customer when I used their services for the 2nd year.Despite my bad experience last year I used them this year because I did not do my homework and it was late for the season..Look at the pictures and you be the judge !!! Instead of grass seeds I think they add weed seeds ! No one in the neighbourhood has weeds like I do. They asked me to call them. I did but could not talk to any responsible party and they don't call the client back as their policy.I am so done with this company !!!!!!!!

We have been using hometurf for our lawn service for 3 years now, our neighbour has used them for years and has a beautiful lawn - ours looks just as good now! They are very professional, reliable and give 24hrs notice prior to each service (which is very important to us as we have dogs).

We used their services for a year (2019), we saw no improvement and decided to change the entire grass in 2020, be aware that their service would be automatically renewed if you don't cancel in advance. I called them many times to cancel and told them we are changing the grass as we were not satisfied with their services, they kept sending letters with late fee charges added each time, kept calling me at my work and ignoring my comments regarding the charges for no apparent services and telling me that they did a one time maintenance before me cancelling the service. They send the file to collections this month , for $192 ,a significant part of it was late fees! I decided to pay it to put an end to their nonsense. Not satisfied with their service, or customer service. My neighbor cancelled with them too as their lawn condition kept getting worse.

An email confirmed my scheduled date for grub control and the guys never showed up. I was home all day so I would know. No one bothered to contact me until I called the office the next day and was told that the job was rescheduled for the day after. No one showed up on that day either. There was no sign on the lawn to say that the treatment was applied. When I called again, the woman on the phone insisted that according to her records, the application was applied. What a joke, I was home and never saw them come. She did agreed to void the order. Totally unprofessional and unreliable.

UPDATE: Owner paid to have fence panels replaced. Damaged fence left for us to deal with... Pics attached. This is our first time using Hometurf. We noted dark spray marks on our fence, a small amount after first visit and then more on second and could not ignore as it was clearly not going away. After emailing about the issue a supervisor Ryan visited to see the damage and told us that the spray is supposed to be kept from fences, it clearly wasn't, and as a result our new fence is now permanently damaged! However, he told us that it would be taken of. There were subsequent visits to our house, by members of the company, to view the damaged fence, we were informed that the repairs were beyond their capabilities and they would have to hire a fencing company to come out to do the work. We mentioned that we'd like to talk to whomever was hired, prior to them coming out, as we may have more work for them. Not a problem. We then waited to hear back and after more than a week we reached out again. We were hugely disappointed to learn that the staff was not aware of where our situation stood and even after Desiree called the owner we were told that they are in fact not taking care of the repairs because they "are not a fencing company" They will only pay us back for the cost to us for repairing it. This is where we are truly let down as customers. We are also not a fencing company...We hired their services to take care of our lawn - they caused damage on our property and it is solely their responsibility to fully take care of that damage. Putting the responsibility on their client to hire a fence company and pay out of pocket and then wait for them to (hopefully) return payment, is negligent. I asked if I could speak to the owner of the business and was told that that is not at all possible, this is not very reassuring. FYI We have yet to even receive an apology. Additionally we are now very concerned that when we have our new hot tub and gazebo installed next week they are going to cause damage to them. We have not felt that the business, as a whole, cares at all about what happened and subsequently we fear it will happen again. We have asked again that they please make this right and to assure us that they have our best interests and to regain our confidence. I do hope that this review will help encourage them to do so, I am more than happy to change it once the issue is properly dealt with.

Although we had a few false starts with Hometurf due to weather and an employee issue, we've been extremely happy with their service over the past couple of visits. We'll certainly use them again in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their service

Very disappointed with the service. I got their medium tier package with aeration, fertilizer and weed control. Found out that the aeration is 'liquid aeration' so they spray the ground with some liquids that do nothing. This was very misleading on their website and there was no indication that it would be liquid based. The first time they did the weed treatment they did no damage to the weeds but managed to take out my vegetable garden. After they killed my plants each time I had a weed control scheduled I would call their office to have them leave my backyard and garden alone. Much to my chagrin this was ignored and they managed to kill my garden an additional two times, even though I had asked them to keep the garden killer spray out of my backyard. Best part was the weeds were not even phased by the 'weed control' I would have been better off buying a bag of fertilizer to boost the grass and pulling weeds like I always do. Save your cash and your garden.

Dependable and works. Many stop to say how do you get your lawn so nice. They also leave a check list with the fertilizing to say what you can do to improve the lawn, like don't cut it so short, or you are cutting it right length.

Spending $$$ on lawn care with this company was not what I had expected in a professional service. My lawn has not changed at all compared to last season when I looked after it myself. A technician spent only 5 min on one visit and did nothing, no seeding, no weed control, no fretilizing. Another person came out to correct the problem and sprayed for weeds, no weeds died. Extremely disappointed by the lack of service and quality products. I have cancelled my service and will no longer be a customer. I see no value in this service. Be aware of similar customer complaints.

This is my second year with Hometurf now. They applied the second Fiesta weed control application on May 25th. Two days after, I noticed most of my newer (September planted) lawns are getting yellow! It was also raining every single day, but all baby lawns dried out in a week! I sent Hometurf an email with photos. They promptly responded with, "We will set up a visit for a field supervisor to come out to assess and repair any damage. We apologize for any inconvenience." Just 2 days later, they showed up, raked my lawn, and spread lawn soil plus massive amounts of lawn seeds. They also left a message and a bag of extra seeds at the door, asking me to keep watering them. After a week, they had another extra visit to make sure they've positively taken care of this unwanted issue. Long story short, we've got a great front yard lawn in 3 weeks and you'd see the photos of all stages I explained. They responsively compensated, and am happy to recommend Hometurf to anyone.

I've used Hometurf Lawn Care for a couple of years. They provide good service at a reasonable price from the spring through the fall. They communicate well throughout the season before and after each application. I had an issue with my lawn this past summer and they sent a technician out within a few days to inspect the problem and applied another application free of charge.

I used Home Turf and they completely ruined my lawn. I did not want to use their service this year but they sent someone out to fertilize in the spring and then sent an invoice shortly thereafter. I called and informed them that they had completely ruined my lawn and that I would not be using their service and they apologized. Fast forward months later, they are still calling me to collect on their service and said they are now sending my invoice to collections. Horrible company, stay away!

I decided to use a lawn care service because I had a bad weed problem and a very patchy lawn. I have lived in the house for 3 years the years now and have been slowly working at it myself.. i finally decided I would see what a pro would do. 4 days after they came to do weed control I would have dandelions blooming all over my lawn. Half of the weeds would not get sprayed. The writeup sheet that you get after service that has recommendations would always say the same thing not mentioning any weeds that are growing all over dog urine spots that are present all ove or the rampant crabgrass that I am constantly battling. The technician would not spray anything along the sides of the house for some reason even though that is part of my lawn. I highly recommend you go somewhere else or spend $400 on weed and grass seed and do-it-yourself.

First time trying out their service, because I got their promotional offer in the mail of their Early bird special pricing to buy “The Complete Program”. It includes 6 visits for the following services: Season Long Fertilization, Season Long Weed Control, Lawn Analysis With Every Visit, Surface Insect Control, Aeration, and Free Over-seeding. Overall this was a complete waste of money. Most surprisingly, after each visit, there was no meaningful recommendations made by the professionals who visited to show they care to help improve the look of my lawn/ backyard. My main concern was getting grass to re-grow in my backyard, and remove weeds, which I also specifically stated in my initial order. My backyard began with no grass AND was left with no grass– it’s just all weeds (see photos below of what my backyard looks like now after their “Complete Program” service- lol it’s almost comical). This service literally made no difference. 0/5 - DO NOT RECOMMEND! Feedback for the company: For your future customers, it would’ve honestly helped that rather than continuing to visit and use your products that you know won’t make a difference in our lawn/backyard, you could’ve gave recommendations for us that we could’ve done/ or maybe other services you offer, to allow your products to work. Complete waste of money, and lack of communication/ desire to build customer rapport, which ultimately would’ve led to better service and results.

Ordered their service for Spring aeration, seeding, fertilizer, and weed control. They came a couple of times for a total of 10 whole minutes combined to check the soil, drop some fertilizer and spray some weeds. No aeration or seeding to date and we’re in mid-June now. Btw, yes we still have weeds (plenty). When we placed the order, they said it would all be done by mid May at the latest because temperatures needed to stabilize from the cold. Called again today to get the runaround and they wouldn’t refund the services that weren’t performed when my wife called. Don’t waste your time or money with this company. Total joke. Not sure how they have 4+ star reviews. Must have been mostly from the past. Will never use them again. Hope this review saves someone else from wasting their money. Do yourself a favour and go with another company. I don’t generally right reviews let alone negative ones. But after trying to get some answers from this company a few times on when the services would be performed and receiving no concrete timeline, even them suggesting potentially sometime in the Fall, I had to share this experience in a more public forum.

I had Home Turf services for several years in Brampton. Initially for a year or two, they were doing well. As I continue to use their services for lawn care, things were taken for granted and deterioration of lawn service. The backyard weed control for that I had multiple to come and spray again but weeds went out of control so I had do lawn mowing to keep backyard tidy. This August I have moved to Oakville and asked them to come to assess the yard size and provide me a quote. To my surprise, they refused to do and asked me to measure the grass and send it to them. Further, they said over the phone that whatever they quote for me based my measurements versus their technician 1st visit to do the service and take measurements again (the price would likely go up). Shouldn't it make sense to come to assessment the lawn and provide a firm quote? Plus, I am disappointed with treatment to the existing client who did the services many years. Come on guys, something really isn't right !

We've been a customer of Hometurf now for 8 years. Our lawn has been free of weeds, always green, and in good condition season after season. The one time we didn't use Hometurf was a weed disaster - the service really does work. The cost is reasonable, the service is always consistent, and the schedule always reliable. Most importantly our lawn looks great year after year. Can definitely recommend Hometurf!

HOMETURF has been my lawn care provider for many MANY years and I have been a happy customer. Sure, I still need to do a lot of work in between applications (mowing) and monitoring the soil (watering) but the difference for my lawn with and without HOMETURF is noticeable - less weeds. Selfishly, I take all the credit when guests compliment my lawn. But in the back of my mind, I know. Thank you, HOMETURF.

I am very upset with Hometurf. Paid for premium program, but only got one fertilizer application and nothing else. If they don't have enough manpower to service customers they should just just issue a refund and let us switch elsewhere. You cannot collect prepayments and then not deliver services! This is what my lawn looks like thanks to Hometurf :(

signed up with Hometurf recently and after confirming the services included, I paid for full season. After an hour got a call from them telling me that one of the service ( vegetation control) was not included in that price, although at the time of signing up they said that it will be included. I asked them to cancel it and close my account which they didn't do right away and said that their supervisor will call me. Two days have past no one called. I have been calling them but the customer services people said that closing the account and refund has to be done by supervisor. Very much disappointed. I am going to report a fraud against this company. Customer services is worst than any.

Very disappointed service. We choose this company because they keep sending us email and letters, I paid the completion program for over $500, and a guy came in two days ago, he was very perky about finishing the job, he only stays 15 mins in total including apply fertilizer and crops the dust. Also he was lied to me that he said he finished all the backyard, but in fact, he only done half of the backyard, and dandelion turns out even worse. The other half of the dandelions showed no signs of spraying. I don't know what they have done to my backyard. Line busy all the time, no one answers the email and phone.

I normally do not write bad reviews but their service was so bad that I gave up and asked them to cancel my program in the middle and they do not even do any refund for that! They do not knock on you door even if you ask them to. They just show up and put a paper in your mailbox and leave! I do not see anything applied to my lawn and when I call, they just keep saying they have done their job. They claim they have done aeration and over-seeding in my backyard without me noticing anything while I was at home at the time! Total waste of money and time.

Hometurf has done a great job all year round in maintaining our lawn. Having them take care of the basics is good value for money and gives me time to do other things in the garden I enjoy more. Once I wasn't satisfied with the work and they came by the next day to get it done. I've renewed them now for a 3rd time.

05/25/21 Update: Hometurf clearly did not read my review or understand that my only contact with them was by email, as their response is talking about telephone hold times and telling me to email them? They had time to send a man canvassing my street, during the pandemic, in additional to the quarter century of wasted mailings. From the reviews this season, both before and after my original review; it is beyond evident that there are serious problems at Hometurf, which extend far deeper than pandemic woes. Why do all their responses put the responsibility on their customers to email (to which you will be lucky to get a response to) after they’ve already been paid? What kind of exit scam is this? —————— Hometurf has been sending mail to my home since we moved to this home in 1996, addressed to the previous home owner. This year, I decided to contact them and see if they could help rejuvenate my lawn, which needed some TLC and has issues with creeping charlie. I submitted an e-mail asking them about this issue, and patiently waited for a response. 3 days later I got what seemed to be some sort of copy+paste response "Hello, Thank you for your email. Our weed control is effective on broadleaf weeds like dandelion, thistle, and plantain. We can spray creeping Charlie but cannot guarantee that it will be killed.If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you" I responded asking them if it would even be worth it to subscribe to their service and received no response. This is bad business. I'm not just going to prepay for the best package on their website and cross my fingers. This company is clearly having issues with communication, as I can see several recent reviews from individuals who can't even get them to pick up the phone AFTER they paid the fee. Hometurf has spent more time in the last week poorly defending their reputation on Google reviews, than trying to assist me as a new customer. Hometurf has been advised to remove me from their mailing list. Further solicitation will constitute harassment.

This company looks after my father's lawn. Maybe because he is elderly they take advantage of him and don't give him quality service. They didn't show up to fertilize his lawn for several days in a row and when they did finally show up and 'fertilize' they put a handful of fertilizer over his whole lawn!! (his lawn is 220 ft deep) What a joke. This will be the last time we use this company. Please do not use them especially for your elderly loved ones.

My front and backyard are full of weeds and i have been calling them for a long time now. no one has showed up until now. 2 weeks back, i was promised someone would show up for the weed control.. but no one showed up until today.. we pick these kinda services to stay peaceful. but inspite of paying the money, these people are making lives so stressful. its so unfair.

This company is a SCAM! They will send invoices for service that has been completed years ago to other owners/tenant and FINALLY sends it to collection without any written agreements. This company needs to be brought to the MEDIA else they will continue to SCAM the public! They do a really good job of leaving a feedback replies saying to contact them via email but they never respond to emails or phone calls. I wonder how many people out there in GTA that is being pulled into this scam! They are smart enough to lock their small office so public does not have access to address any issue. Only choice you have is a phone # and email which gets ignored all times! STAY AWAY and bring your concerns to local authorities if you want to rectify this company's scam...

I have used Hometurf Lawn Care for the past 3 summers and my lawn has been in much better condition as a result. I find the service cost to be very reasonable and the return on investment is very good. On the rare occassion that I've had to call customer support, I have always had a very friendly and prompt response. Email/phone call reminders are very helpful so that I know when to expect service.

I rarely rate services that I receive on google or somewhere else, but the poor quality service that I received pushed me to do that. I purchased the full package in April. It is mid June now and they visited twice only in stealth mode without being noticed and applied fertilizer only!! They didn't apply the weed spray because it was raining. I talked to them and they said they will leave a note so that somebody will come urgently to spray within a week. 3 weeks later and nobody showed up!! I called their customer service and they told me the weed control was applied which is not true. I asked her to check the notes and she found that I am right and they promise they will send someone in a week. The season is almost done and they jusy applied fertilizer which I can apply myself for 10 dollars. It is true that their service is cheaper but it is very low quality. No emails, no communication, long time to reply the calls and when they do they are rude. I regret purchasing their services and will not advise anybody to do so.

Hometurf resuscitated and saved our lawn this year. We have never spent the money on a lawn service but this year (with spending as much at home as we did) we wanted our backyard (and front yard too!) to look amazing. Hometurf delivered. Our lawn was cared for and the staff who came to our property were professional, on-time, and thorough. We highly recommend Hometurf - great value and ever better results for money spent.

We always wanted to have lush grass , it never worked for us, we spent hundreds a year in fertilizer, weed killer, seeds you name it! I took a chance and decided to let hometurf take over, I wish I had a before photo- this had almost no grass, it was all dead grass, dirt and weeds! We must of had more weed then grass. After 2 1/2 months, this is now our yard!!! Our front looks the same- we get sooo many compliments now on how lush our grass is. I couldn’t be any happier with the results, the staff are A+ , always polite ,respectful, and kind. I feel they are here to care for my lawn more than I am :) and they always leave detailed pamphlets on how to maintain after every treatment- I’ve never been left with any questions. A special thank you to Desiree - Who was super patient and knowledgeable when it came to all my questions and demands, the professionalism , knowledge and hard work from Hometurf is rare these days . Be aware that unless you cancel this service in writing you will be billed each year. I did not send in any renewal form for this year and I assumed that I would not be billed or provided with service. They showed up twice and billed me $180.62. The woman who called to settle the bill was smug and condescending. If you check these reviews by listing the newest you will see that the vast majority of reviews are scathing. If you check the Better Business Bureau you will see that they have a litany of complaints. If I could rate with negative stars I would give them a -10. Buyer beware.

Damaged Lawn..... The 1 star is being generous! I wish we could say more positive about this company who prides themselves in being in business for 34 years, unfortunately they have not learnt much in the way of customer service or satisfaction in that time! When we started with this company in early spring of this year 2020, we actually were only interested in specific services, but they convinced my husband that their program would get us those services and more. We did get more unfortunately, we started with a fantastic lawn and now the majority of it is dead and burned from over fertizling. Their weed program is also misleading, it is a spot program so if you see weeds call them but it takes almost 2 weeks for them to come out, by that time there are so many weeds or you have do it yourself.... Staff that came to the property were mostly inexperienced, running around aimlessly across the lawn and in one case spraying randomly on the driveway but had open flip flops - no safety shoes or PPE. We gave them many opportunities to correct the issues but once again they failed to improve at all. I found dealing with the office staff was hard, they have a lot of attitude and the moment you aren't happy that attitude comes out! I was told this morning when speaking to Desiree Burns that I couldn't speak with a manager higher than her because she is that person, the Customer Service Manager! I have read a lot of the reviews for HomeTurf over the last couple of days and they all say the same thing they ruin your lawn!! The other thing I have noted is that with every complaint they do respond, but it's the exact same message literally word for word. The only thing I can recommend about this company is to run, not walk, from them!! Hometurf please don't worry about responding to this non-recommedation, your scripted response is a waste of your time! UPDATE: We are now in dispute with HomeTurf because we are refusing to pay for this damage and instead we are going to be putting the funds toward getting this corrected.

Hello – you all know this – I value our time. It is not challenging to fertilize the lawn, but we outsource it as clients have restricted time and inclination. I usually do NOT complain and have patience as I believe “EVERYTHING can be resolved” except unprofessional behavior and offering repetitive below service standard or losing trust. In writing, I proved my point to you guys that on regular visits, despite the back door being open, they forget to visit the backyard or intentionally – I have a camera recording to prove that. Secondly, it was specified in my contract aeration was included, which was never done. This was brought to my notice by my spouse – when emailed to Home Turn, I got no response. Meanwhile, I had prepaid for 2022, for which I requested a refund as things are not getting resolved, and service quality has been compromised. Most disturbing was yesterday receiving a call from your service manager at 5.24 pm. It seemed she did not want me as your customer. She kept stressing why I renewed and repeatedly pressed her point and blurted that a $20 admin fee would be deducted to process a refund, and she hung up. WOW, I was shocked, and it was unacceptable. I was planning to walk away quietly, but now to calm myself down, I will broadcast my grievance on social media – I have many clients who will help me accomplish this – let me download the video and email it to you guys, which will prove that your rep just fertilized the front lawn and drove by. While you enjoy my $20, I will be flushing some money to see other prospects/customers of yours know all about HOME TURF & false promises printed on paper. Sorry, I wrote a lot, and I feel that you guys have cheated us. I think you guys have become too BIG to manage your team. And whatever money is refunded, I will have to spend on social media to relay reality about your company I have also complained to my credit card company Thank you Ashok I have written to Home TURF called several times to point out that quality and services were compromised _ nothing happened I wasted my time

Well then look no further than Hometurf, Ontario’s worst, fraudulent company you’ll even get the pleasure to work with! When you purchase 6 lawn applications at the beginning of the year - that’s just what they say to get your to part with your cash. It’s October and they only just did our 4th application 2 weeks ago. Called their “customer service” team, and they said they would be coming for the 5th application last week. Guess what? They didn’t show! Oh how lovely, to live in complete incompetent bliss like the team at Hometurf. Don’t take my word for it - this whole comment section is full of lovely stories of daylight robbery. I cancelled my service for next year but reading these comments, I have no faith they won’t charge me anyway. Time for a new credit card! Do yourself a favour people - RUN!

UPDATE: After battling with a customer service rep and supervisor, they finally agreed to issue a refund. Had to really fight for it as all they wanted was to give a credit for next year. This company has been ripping off my grandmother for years now. She jokes that her lawn is so bad from Hometurf, that they should be embarrassed to put their sign on her lawn advertising. I went by the reviews and had their service for a year. Costumer service is good but they really don’t care about their costumers. If you are not happy the do nothing. If you call to cancel they just cancel and don’t really do a follow up to know why you are not happy. As soon as I cancelled they told me all my visits has been completed but I did not get a visit in fall. So if you are looking for improvement of your lawn, this is not the right company. I am now trying another one. I was happy with turf-king but they are not in our area.

Our neighbor across the street has a RING doorbell (with camera). He also enlisted Hometurf. One morning for the scheduled application, a young guy got out of his truck, put the sign in his lawn and then literally left. He did nothing.

Late Late Late. Every stage of the process was literally 5-6 weeks after my neighbors on both sides companies did their applications. My lawn is the worst it’s looked in years 2 times i just went and got my own products to apply (for instance the “Summer” application didn’t happen until September 2nd) The disappointing thing is that the products they applied seemed really good quality. It was just always too late for maximum effect. We will not continue with them in 2022.

STAY AWAY! Totally regret the decision to pay them upfront for lawn maintenance. This is probably the worst company you could hire to care for your lawn. For me, it began in spring with some untimely and ineffective applications, and it's been 3.5 months after that today and nobody has ever returned to the lawn for continuing the care (totally contrary to what they advertise and they assure when you make a purchase). Can't stress enough how poor is their customer service, and it's a totally unreliable, untrustworthy and unsatisfactory lawn care company. They offered me credit instead of refund. Why would I take the credit when I don't trust the company for any further services in the first place? You're better off not engaging with them in any way.

I purchased complete program with added Patio Control Weeds. Their service man came over and sprayed my front yard ONLY with NO Patio Control, and did not touch my sides of the house or back yard! Then he left a receipt that my whole yard was done. I would have not known this if it wasn't for my neighbor watching him ONLY do the front yard and then leave! It took me 3 times calling and talking to someone to finally have them cancel my Program. They still want to charge me for work done? What work done? How can I trust a company that their service workers bill clients with invoices stating fake work done? I hope you get your business in order for the future, as for me trust has been lost!

This company does not stand behind their service and they don't take responsibility for anything. They can't even bother to call us back, they don't care about the customer. They say they will complete a lawn analysis with each visit which they don't. In our case when the tech came to provide our weed service they noted that every thing wass okay, meanwhile we have dead patches of lawn. We had to repeatedly call them back to investigate why we had dead grass. The first lady on the phone had the nerve to blame us, telling us we watered our lawn too much. Finally when they got around to seriously looking at our property, the small dead patches are now four times as big and our whole lawn is turning brown. We now have a major chinch bug infestation, which could have been quickly treated if this company knew what they are doing. It's interesting the tech noted that we are to water to avoid the bug damage The so called Manager of customer service can't even bother to call us back so we can get our lawn treated. If we don't hear back from them, we will be demanding our money back for such poor service. I see the typical response, asking the customer to contact you. We have phoned and emailed you already three times with no response, why would we do it again. I'm sure you can figure out who we are and contact us if you wanted too!

We've enrolled with their program since 2018 and every year the weeds in our lawn have been increasing. There are patches of our lawn where there aren't any seeds of grass and thus have weeds now. I will update my post to include the pics. Also would tlove to have the accurate review of our soil/lawn rather than saying it looks good when it isnt. Sadly, this will be the last year I will be subscribing to their services. :( I will find a company who actually takes care of our lawn. I signed up and subscribe to this lawn service as I had a newborn and wouldn't find the time to take care of it other than mowing and watering. But after signing up, it seems like we garnered more weeds and it yielded to more work.

They're always happy to come back and respray, when weeds are super persistent. They don't spam mail you (conventional or email). I prepaid for The Complete Program, which includes 6 scheduled visits. This program cost me over $300 and they have only been to my house once on April 1st. I try to call in and I get a busy signal all the time. I just want to know when they will be coming back to do the work I paid for. I am a first time customer and I'm extremely upset with this service. My front lawn needs some care and I thought I would choose hometurf since they keep sending us letters in the mail. I've been experiencing way more than usual dandelions on the corner of my house, right by the side walk. It looks absolutely horrible and ruins the curb appeal. I used to be able to take them out on my own, but now there is way too many. I've already opted out for the auto-renew for next year. The only way I'm going back to hometurf is if they show an improvement for their services.

Total waste of money and liars. I was told when I purchased the plan that it was for a full year of service but then got a renewal notice after 3 months. It turned out that the service was only for the remainder of 2021 which was never communicated to me so I paid for a full year of service but only received 3 months. This company is a total joke. None of my weeds are gone. They claimed to spray parts of our yard and I watched the guys sit in their truck, come out, put up the sign and walk away after doing nothing.

We have used hometurf for fertilizer and weed control the past few years. Each year our lawn has improved and is growing in fuller. We have occasionally had to call for a reapplication of weed control but they have consistently come back to reapply with no fuss. Satisfied with the service and will be using them again this season.

Day 1:They came to apply weed killer on rainy day when the lawn was wet and raining. Didn't apply it on backyard, on sides and no call in advance. Called up their office, were quite nice and helpful and they have promised to re-apply. Let see when they do it. I have been waiting for a month now for my first weed killer application and i guess it will take another month IF they re-apply it. Update Day 2 after application:- Good:- most of the weeds got killed where ever they applied. BAD:- they missed lot many spots. And have not yet heard anything from them about my backyard application. Update Day 5:- GOOD: Company was quick to fix their mistake and they arrived sooner than i expected. This time they did sprayed at the backyard too. As i said before, their spray works really good. BAD: BUT it would be nice if they cover the whole yard. They missed many spots(Check Pics). ALSO i requested them to call before they arrive which they didn't. I am gonna call them again.

Moved into my new home three years ago and tried managing my lawn on my own and it was pretty much a disaster. Finally gave in and called Hometurf after receiving a flyer from them. They had been servicing the lawn for the previous owner, and the beauty of the lawn was part of the reason we bought the house. After two seasons now with Hometurf, the lawn looks great. We even ordered their path weed clearing package and when we called to say we weren't satisfied with that part of the service, they offered to come back right away and take care of it for us, which was fantastic and unexpected. They come on schedule every 4 to 6 weeks and always call the day before. Overall I am happy with the service and just signed up for Season 3. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful lawn that is serviced by professionals on time and with great care.

Good service at great value compared to competitors. We recently moved into our home and the previous owner did not tend to the lawn at all. Weed was growing wild, especially in the back yard. The weed control was useful for us in helping to control the weed problem. The package we bought included over seeding and liquid aeration, but to be honest I can't see the difference that this has made. When it comes to the over seeding, I can't see where the grass seeds were spread. Overall, good value. Would recommend at least getting the weed control.

We ordered March 4th and the service has been nothing but dissatisfaction we have only had one application where the person came and was literally running on the lawn and missed a bunch of areas before I could put my shoes on to go out and talk to him he was driving away. My husband had gotten a flyer in the mail and called Hometurf service in 2019 to learn more. He told the person he spoke to that he would try this service for the 2019 season to see if we felt it was worth the money. We had decided to sell our home in March 2020. We just received an invoice that was forwarded to our new house through the mail charging us for services at our old home address in the amount of $339.96. As you can imagine we were shocked for several reasons. NO ONE from Hometurf contacted us at anytime to ask if we wanted the property serviced in 2020. The new house Owners clearly didn't tell Hometurf they were new Owners. I don't understand how a company can start a service without consulting the home owners especially during these difficult COVID times where people are losing jobs. The fact that this company would take advantage and not ask permission for this annual service is absolutely terrible. We contacted them and cancelled the service today letting them know we were not aware these services were being done. They are insisting we have to pay for the treatments they already did. HOW CAN THIS BE RIGHT????

We have been a customer for 3 years and decided to cancel this year as we haven’t seen any improvements. When I originally registered with hometurf I let the employee know that we had a lot of weeds in our backyard and wondered if this service would be enough. They assured me that I would see significant improvement over a couple of years. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. We have also spent countless hours each year pulling weeds ourselves in addition to their service and still no difference. I have noticed after the weed control is applied it really only works on about 5% of the weeds in our yard. I am not sure if that is because their technicians are not thorough enough when spraying or just the effectiveness of the product. After 3 years of service I didn't expect to have a yard full of weeds, clovers and crab grass. We also saw no difference when they applied the fertilizer, aeration and over seeding if anything the yard looks worse. I contacted them before I canceled with my concerns and I never received a response. They also charged me about half the cost of the entire year's services for just the 2 treatments they applied this year when I decided to cancel. The only positive thing I have to say is that they showed up for each application.

Not happy with this service. The first "assessment" they did was totally inaccurate and looked like they checked random boxes on the form but did not even look at our lawn. We have called three times to have them come and respray for weeds because we have MORE weeds now than we did before we used this company. Check out the photos. Our lawn is full of weeds!! These photos were taken after 3 resprays and I had to call repeatedly to get them to come. We were doing a better job on our own. Lastly, one of my neighbours uses a different lawn care company that is $70 cheaper per year and their lawn seems to look better. This was our first and last year using these guys.

We are first time purchasers of weed control services and had high hopes when we contracted Hometurf for the season. Sadly, we’ve not seen any notable improvement on our lawn. In fact, we’ve noticed where dandelions were sprayed while other broadleaf weeds right next to them were not touched. We raised the concern with their customer service. After a brief email exchange we asked if we might be able to cancel the service for the remainder the season and get a refund. That was almost a month ago and we’ve not heard from them since. With the unresponsiveness and lack of confidence that the technicians are doing a thorough job, we will not be engaging Hometurf in the future.

I have never left a review before and this is the first time ever, I feel that this company, HomeTurf, is a complete scam and ripping off clients. As you can see in the many reviews this past year, I too have got terrible/non existent service. I pre-paid for the complete service end of March and have only had 2 visits (one Fiesta and 1 Fiesta +weed Control). Which didn’t even work btw. The last visit was almost 8 weeks ago. They refuse to give a refund for unfinished service and only give credit, which I don’t want since I am never using them again. After numerous attempts to try to get a refund, their bullying and gaslighting by customer service reps was too much for me to handle and fight. So I said just complete the services we prepaid for, which is 4 more services. Well it’s been almost 2 weeks (almost 8 weeks since last service) and I have emailed them 3 times asking for a date when they will come out and no response. If I had known and read these recent reviews I would of never went with this company. I don’t know how they are getting any good reviews and it makes me think they are fake. Also,what makes me even more mad, is that they don’t even tell you that if you if prepay you can not get your money back for services not rendered. My husband has been trying to salvage the lawn himself since our lawn has never looked this bad and we have more weeds this year than ever! He Hebron able to salvage the most of the back lawn but the front is still a problem Summary: *DO NOT prepay- you will not get your money back if u try to cancel upcoming services. it’s not worth the extra 10% off and free overseeing and liquid aereation *they say they come every 4 to 6 weeks- more like 6 weeks or more. Didn’t know this until I prepaid. That was conveniently left out of the advertised pamphlet and not mentioned over phone when I called and prepaid. Not sure if this is even legal. But I guess I’m a sucker for prepaying almost $400. *Not sure if they are spraying enough or putting enough fertilizer since what they did actually hasn’t worked and I had more weeds than ever and thinned out patchy grass that I never had before with previous lawn care services. Big mistake to try out with these guys. *customer service is abysmal and gaslights you and is very rude, they avoid emails as well. I did have one nice lady but she gave me standard responses. *make sure you cancel in writing at the end of the season and ask for confirmation of cancellation since they will continue services next year as I found out after I prepaid. And this is for HomeTurf directly, my review name above is my married name so if u r trying to tie me to an account as one of your clients, I believe u can, because u see my email address. Your service reps do an excellent job. This year is a particular challenge for them as my street is completely closed off for a water main replacement. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they went down the back alley to access my yard and got their work done. Took some maneuvering on their part!

Definitely 0 Star. I would not recommend this company at all. I signed up for their "Complete Program" + weed and grub control. They do NOT appear to care about your lawn. They have hired inexperienced people to apply the product. The "technicians" do no not have any valuable recommendations... when you ask them questions, they have no clue. One of the main reasons I hired Hometurf is because they advertised that they can effectively manage Grubs and other lawn pests. I have emailed them repeatedly asking them when they will come out to apply the Grub application. The answer was "late summer". It is Aug 30th and they have still not applied the Grub product. When I called they said they will start the grub program in September. What a joke. I have severe damage to my backyard lawn as a result of grubs which could have easily been avoided if they delivered what they promised. I am not normally a critical person. I rather praise than give negative criticism. In this case, Hometurf has completely failed. For those out there looking for a company to help you manage your lawn, I recommend you select another company besides Hometurf.

Don't sign up for their automatic renewal. The trick they pulled on me was they sent out a reminder, and I called to say I was not interested, and please cancel, which they said they would do. Three days later they had done a fertilizing, and when I called they said sorry. Three months later, I get a bill for the service, plus an overdue charge. I call to protest and the lady told me that sometimes they don't process order changes very fast, and so they had serviced my lawn. As an offer of goodwill, she withdrew the late fee! Never again!

We called twice to called to inquire when we would get the rest of our prepaid services and are only told ‘soon’ and ‘they can’t treat in the rain’. Terrible customer service at their office. Before I used Hometurf service, my lawns, both the front and the back were out of control. Weeds were everywhere. I tried many things on my own but not very successful and only wasted a lot of my time. After I joined Hometurf lawn care program, I did not need to worry about when to apply fertilizer or weed control. Hometurf came on specific times. After service was done, they left a note about the condition of my lawns and provided suggestions of what I should do. I should have given 5 stars if they did not miss applying the granular fertilizer on my back yard one time. After that visit, I saw the blue granular fertilizer all over my front lawn but I saw none on my back yard.

I am unfortunately disappointed in the service I received from Hometurf. Chinch bugs were rather destructive and I was waiting for the appropriate treatment to be applied. When it was two weeks outside of the treatment window they indicate on their own website I called. I was told somewhere on their website it said "all services are weather dependant". The call to customer service was very disappointing, the rep was very abrupt and would repeatedly interrupt as I was explaining my concerns. I have called twice during the season as the time intervals between some visits were significant. I suspect for the 2021 season they are short staffed.

Great consistent service. The company shows up 4-5 times per year preforming the requested lawn applications without fail. As well they inspect and provide a lawn assessment with every application, along with special notes and suggestions for that time of year. We are quite pleased with their service over the past four years, and will be continuing onward.

We used Hometurf for the first time last year and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. They didn’t provide service as expected and when called they would say their records showed that the treatment was done. They kept offering free resprays but if I hadn’t called we wouldn’t have gotten the service we paid for. When they did come they oversprayed several sections and the grass died and they missed several sections where weeds ended up prolific. I called at the end of the season to cancel the “subscription” knowing that they do automatic renewals. I got an email that my service was cancelled. 5 months later received a letter in the mail saying I would be auto-renewed. Called again and was told that my cancellation didn’t get processed. This company is not trustworthy and have questionable practices.

After contacting customer service they told me they will come very soon and now its mid July and they only came once putting the smallest amount of fertilizer. I am very unhappy and frustrated with their services. My lawn looks worse than before they started. I have weeds covering over 60% of it. There are weeds all around my deck, basement window well, and shed. I have cameras and I watched the video of the tech servicing my lawn and they didn't spray everywhere they were suppose to. There are are so many dead, yellow, and brown patches. I called to cancel it and get a refund but they said they don't do refunds because it is company policy. Even if they don't do a good job you are stuck with them for the year. I have read other Google and BBB reviews that other customers got a refund but they won't issue one to me. I just want my unused portion of my payment back and deal with my lawn myself.

I tried them this year, given their promotional activities and their marketing message. Very sorry I did . The service they provided on their all inclusive package was much later than other companies and I still have not received the aeration and overseeding - and it’s mid October ! Grass seed needs warm, sunny days and cool nights, not 2 degree nights. No matter how many times you call and complain or ask for service, they do not respond! Very poor customer service and very poor lawn maintenance! I will not renew. And- they just sent an email saying if you didn’t cancel for 2022, they automatically renew????? Who gave them permission to do that? Not me! Don’t hire them - not worth the money. Oh - and the $200.00 grub control - they use Scott’s grub be gone -long after the grub damage is done - and it doesn’t work! Add on - they just called to schedule my core aeration and overseeding but they tried to give me a “liquid aeration” whatever that is, instead of the paid for core aeration and overseeding.I have requested only core aeration and overseeding. Temperatures are dropping to below 0 now- how does grass seed germinate in that temperature? Still dreadful service.

I like that Hometurf is fast, has email notification that they are going to make their visit, reliable as in shows up on the day of their visit and as far as I can remember always early morning so that feels good that a service you needed is done to start your day. They do follow up weed spraying as part of the service package. If anything I'd enjoy if there was a bit more attention put on the strips of grass along the sides of the house with seeding, spraying and fertilizing.

Update as of Novebmer 22 2021: I emailed the feedback center as told. No reply after almost 2 weeks. This showed how serious they take your feedback. I switched to this company as I read good reviews on them . I found the service was not even up to par. I had a package with weed control/fertilization/core aeration etc. The service was delayed everytime. They have multiple receptionists who are not very helpful. I booked a spring core aeration but only knew that they were not able to do it due to delay and delay. They said they would do it in the fall. They called a day in October and asked me to mark all the sprinklers so they could do the core aeration the following day. Since I was not able to do the marker ontime, i requested a rescheduling to another week. They said they were going to come out the following week. Did not come. Week after week until i called a few times indicating that my irrigation system was closed and if markers are gone (blown off by wind or other reason), I would not be able to replace them. Finally they came on November 10th. The guy showed up at 8:30 am and left before 9 am. I have a big lawn. I did not find the residual usually left after aeration and found out that they did not do it. They replaced the core aeration by something called liquid aeration as indicated on the reciept that the workman left in my mailbox. I called and inquired. The receptionist told me that that was what they did due to Covid. I told her that it was not true as i was booked for core aeration since beginning of the season. They did try coming out one time except I had to reschedule. I was also never informed of change of service type. After prolonged fact checked (my numerous calls?), she finally agreed to give me my long waited aeration next year. Not sure if i will get it. I requested a confirmation for that outstanding service but was declined. This is not a very good experience for me and I don't know how it gets its good review. Anyways, i am keeping my finger crossed for my core aeration.

For 3-4 years i have used Hometurf. Each year I have had chinch bug infestation. This year was the worst. Hometurf did not spray proactively in the spring but did so in July. Where the bare spots were, I was told to lay soil, seed and water for 10 days. This did not work, so they came back 5 weeks later when 1/3 of the lawn was destroyed. I was advised again to lay soil, reseed and water for 10 days. As a result my water bill will be 3-4 times what it normally is. There will be no compensation/reimbursement for this. I do not recommend this company.

I am absolutely dissatisfied with he services provided by Hometurf Lawn Care. I purchased a lawn care package which included aeration and overseeing which was supposed to happen in the spring. It is fall now and even after multiple attempts to contact their call centre they still have not aerated or over seeded my lawn. They just continue to say that it will be done at the next service. Well 3 services later it is still not done. I had a similar experience when I called early in the year about getting my weeds sprayed. This company is all promises and no follow through. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and even when I ask for my money back they just promise that they are going to do the service the next time then it never gets done.

Generally pleased with Hometurf’s services. Issues: 1. Although we do not have many dandelions, the weed application never kills those that are there and I need to dig them out. All other weeds are very well controlled. 2. An overseed was recently done but there was no application of top dressing on the bare areas. 3. We never know when the application will be done so we can never plan to chat with the applicator. I read that some other clients receive an email prior to the treatment being done. We would like to receive such an email. We did manage to spot the applicator on one occasion. We have one area of grass that is of a completely different variety than that in other areas . Upon asking the applicator to identify the type for us, he was unable to do so. 4. Although we get the written assessment after each treatment, it is very limited - usually about mowing and watering effectiveness. However we have had grub damage in the past few years and have never received any comments about this. Be happy to know, however, that we have received many compliments about our lawn since we have been using Hometurf!!!!

We started using Hometurf Lawn Care Services about 2 years ago. We were referred to them by my sister and brother in law after we complimented them on how amazing their lawn looked. We had a big issue with weeds and was even thinking of having the front lawn re-soded but decided to call Hometurf and give them a try first. After just 1 application all the weeds on our property were starting to die and by after the second application they were all GONE!!! We were so impressed that we decided to contract their services for the following season and they did not let us down. Their package rates are very competitive and reasonable and in my opinion the best bang for our buck in the industry. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they call you before your next service application as a reminder that they will be at your residence performing whichever service application. It's very apparent that complete customer satisfaction is their main goal and priority!! Our lawn is the best on our street and we will continue to use their amazing lawn care services indefinitely!! Very bad service. The technician did a terrible job spraying lawn and even broke a light on my lawn. Technician was not pleasant and not interested in doing the job. We called to complain and was told we would get a re-spray. We called on May 11 and are still waiting. We called again and was told they are busy so no idea when we will get re-spray. We asked for our money back and was told we could get a credit. Credit is useless when we are not happy with service.

I used Home Turf in 2017 and 2018. In 2018 they burnt my grass by leaving large spots of fertilizer. I contacted the office hoping that they would rectify the issue, thinking it would be good customer service. They apologized but did not do anything to replace the large patches of burnt grass. I did not renew any services in 2019 and requested that they remove me from their mailing list on 3 separate occasions. I'm still receiving mail addressed to Resident at my address. I'm not surprised by the lack of response with this company, I'm not interested in your services, please remove me form your mailing list (4th request). I noticed that the owner has responded to my review. I'm not interested in resolving the issue with your company. It has been resolved, I've been with another company since 2019 and I'm very happy with their services. The only issue I would like resolved is to be removed from your mailing list. I'm not interested in your services and won't be in the future. Please resolve this issue.

I just hope other reviewers understand that it takes up time for someone to write up a honest review for a company/service. So believe me when I say I am genuinely disappointed and strongly advise people think twice before hiring this company to do your lawn. Like many, upon seeing so many positive reviews online, I thought I’d give them a chance to help us out with our lawn last season (2017). They took the money real fast, and to be fair, they fulfilled their scheduled visits and completed the program that I have purchased. But not without any hiccups. During mid to late summer season, my front lawn has a few spots where grass is becoming very dry. Tried watering it consistently to no avail. Soon enough it developed into a dry bald spot. I called Home Turf to advise and hopefully to get help on the situation. They ended up sending someone to come by and seeded the area, and suggested me to water it everyday consistently. Long story short, the spot did recover a bit as new grass was starting to come out, however, after a harsh winter that we just had, the “new” grass is all gone, the dry bald spot(s) has reappeared. The part that I’m upset and disappointed about is that I’ve lived in this house for almost 5 years, and my front lawn has always been in pretty good condition. It never developed dry spots (at least not of this magnitude). If I knew using this company for weed maintenance will cause such damages to my lawn, I would of never ever considered using them. I’m not sure what caused this (perhaps over fertilizing – no idea), but my backyard is fine. (PS – Before writing this review, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and called them to see if they can help fix it and honour the service they promise to deliver, but was brushed off by the rep to say they won’t cover. I am not asking for money back, I’m simply asking them to help fix it). As a young professional of the Gen Y population, I will not recommend their service to any of my family, friends, and colleagues.

New update: Even after receiving a message from the customer care to write to them in private, still no luck. No one came to my place, no one called, no one entered my house. Then how can they say I have had my first application. Is this a joke? Hometurf, this is this is unacceptable. I tried calling, the phone doesn't go through. I notices the last couple of reviews have been very appalling. I don't see any light. I am starting to worry about my $500.

We have been using Hometurf for 2 years now and quickly saw a big reduction in the weeds growing throughout our lawn after signing on. Also our lawn is much thicker and greener than before we hired them and noticed the biggest difference in the second year of service. A sign was placed on my lawn that Hometurf performed their fertilizer treatment. I was shocked since I'm working from home and at my kitchen table all day long. I did not see anyone in my yard. When I reviewed my camera footage, the technician did 1 single circle around my front lawn and did not even enter my back yard! When I called to discuss this issue, their staff will not let you speak to a manager and simply put you on a list for a re-spray. I left 2 messages for the manager however they never call back. The technician came to my house to perform the respray and this time sprayed weeds in my back yard however not the front. Did not even remove the fertilizer spreader from his truck! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I never complain, but this is just ridiculous.

I was a customer of the company for last four years. They did a good job during that time. This year we got a renewal notice dated April 2021 with option for renewal before April 30, 2021. I called them today (6 April, 2021) and the customer service representative was not professional. She took my call after a long wait and after talking to me for a couple of minutes put me on hold and came back and told me that we cancelled the order last week so it could not be renewed at this time. I kept repeating that no one from household called or wrote to cancel the order. I wanted to talk to the manager and the rep advised that the manager did not want to talk to us. After four years of good service, it is very disappointing to have such unprofessional service. Normally, I would have given 4 or 5 stars but after this interaction I am really disappointed.

I have been using this company for 3 years, and my lawn looks no better than it did before I started using them. I still have weeds, I still have issues with chinch bug, and my grass is no thicker. I have put my own seed down, I have put top soil down, and I water during dry periods. I have watched the treatment and I have witnessed sometimes they are here for just a few minutes, usually with one or two sweep of the grass, any overseeding is very scattered, and the aeration I think was left a bit late. I really don't know what I have paid for. Yes they are responsive when you call, but I just want the job done right the first time. The technicians that come, must surely see the state of the grass, and should act accordingly or write a report to correct it.

My father ordered the service for his house this year and the lawn looks terrible. We called the company and the tech came out and said that there is nothing they can do to fix the burned lawn and that he would have to wait until next year and re sod it if it doesn't come back. This is a horrible explanation and this is not our fault at all so we should not have to it the lawn. I am writing to the bbb as well to let everyone know that hometurf did not look after my dad. Until the fix the issue I would never recommend their services to anyone from our experience my father is extremely upset over the entire ordeal and just wants his lawn back. I have been with Hometurf for serveral years and using the 'Complete program'. Their price is reasonable. The complaint that I have is every time after they applied the granular fertilizer, I have to do extra work to sweep my driveway and walkway to get rid of the granules. I strongly recommend them to use the blower to blow those granules back to the lawn after the application. It is just like people after mowing the lawn then use blower to blow the clipping back to the lawn. This will definitely save my work and improve their services.

This is our 2nd year using Hometurf. Last year went smoothly, staff were friendly and did the job right and was very happy with the service. This year I am not sure if they got rid of ALL the employees and got new ones but these employees this year are HORRIBLE AND RUDE! and it’s unacceptable! We have security cameras all around our property and the first guy who came to do the service the first time looked lazy and didn’t even want to be there and did a half a$$ job, he only did the front and the sides, never seen him come through our backyard at all but wrote on the paper (receipt i guess) that he did the whole property right. SMH. Only when I emailed them saying what I saw on our camera of what he did and didn’t do. They’re gonna tell me that my backdoor was closed. First of, that was never an issue last year as I already and always tell them how to open the backyard because even if i leave it open sometimes the wind blows it closed most of the time. So i told them how to open it just in case they come and it’s closed. Besides from that, they were really waiting to see If I would notice or not? What if I didn’t bring that up? That’s a horrible service. 2nd visit, they emailed a date of when they are coming, NO SHOW but then showed up the following week. Who’s operating these computers there?? Fast forward to this week, we received a “bill” saying we owe for the program. WHAT YOU MEAN WE OWE FOR THE PROGRAM?!? THE SERVICE WOULDN’T HAVE STARTED WITHOUT PAYMENT SWEETHEART SMH when I called, the person who answered the phone was rude and wouldn’t let me finish explaining what I’m calling for. Anyways I can go on and on all day about a horrible service we’re receiving this year but this will definitely be the last year of them for us.

Provide the services listed well and customers will stay. This was the first and last year I signed up for their program. As many others, I signed up because of the high ratings off of Google reviews and unfortunately, I should've trusted Yelp instead. It was upwards of $300 for I believe 5 visits. I have a video camera installed on my front door for security reasons. The first time they came, they were the most thorough with their application but was still only around for a few minutes maximum. Then when the weed was growing most rapidly during mid-summer, no one came and we ended up having to remove our weeds manually as before. One time, after waiting weeks for them to show up, they were literally only around for a minute or so, to leave their "completed" work of the day form at our porch...I am pretty sure nothing was done that day. We do take care of our lawn well regularly. Watering, mowing the lawn, manually removing weeds. But has this program improved our lawn appearance or eased the work we put in, no, not at all noticeably. It's super easy to apply online but they do not allow you to cancel easily online. Also, it's an automatically continuous program meaning they will come by/charge you next year if you don't reach out to cancel. I sent an e-mail re my complaints and asked to cancel. No confirmation response received until a few weeks later. I will never sign up with this company again.

These people never pick up the phone, there is no way this company is receiving calls 24/7. there is clearly only one person taking calls which is a huge inconvenience. its May 11 and I've only had one fertilizer application and they didn't even aerate my lawn as they said it would be later in the year. Is aerating not done at the beginning of the season. I prepaid for my service last year and I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake. I have dandelions everywhere and I've never had this many ever. They also spread blue fertilizer all over my driveway and sidewalk. Had to spend 20min blowing it off my driveway as it could have stained my concrete driveway. if this type of service continues I am for sure never using this company again and I would highly recommend no one else does unless they can prove they care about the customer. only good news is the the fertilizer used made my grass very thick and green, just wish I didn't have to see all the dandelions

I used their service in two years. My lawn didn't get any better. Basically I paid few hundred bucks for a few times of fertilizer application and herbicide spray(didn't see much effect) per year. The excessive fertilizer use made grasses grew so fast, I had to mow almost every week. It looked good in summer, but in the second spring many areas died out. So I decided to stop their service. Be careful about this company, they will still come to your lawn without your authorization next year even if you don't order their service. Then they leave a bill for you to paid and tell you their service is continuous that you need to cancel ahead of time. I hate businesses play trick like this to cheat their customers.

In some instances, I was holding the phone for more than half an hour but still didn't get any response. The weeds are growing in my front yard and backyard. The grass is getting thinner. What sort of service is this which is producing exact opposite results of their "Service". It is my sincere advice to STAY AWAY from this company if you want to save your money and your lawn.

We signed up in April on the early bird special for the complete program. They charged us a little extra because we have a corner lot. So far they have only done two pest control and one fertilizer treatment. No Aeration or seeding has been done at all and summer is almost over. It is very difficult to get hold of the call center and after waiting really long on the phone and you finally get to them they promise the next visit will be soon and that they would do the required services but nothing happens. None of the instructions given to the call center team are passed along. Update: We contacted Hometurf and the contact center folks mentioned that they do the aeration and seeding in October. But when their staff came to do the fertilizer and weed control spray we asked most of them and they mentioned that this should have ideally be done in early spring and are surprised that this is being done October. Not sure who is correct here.

The worst lawn care service ever and my biggest mistake ! In order to save money I switched companies but my evergreen lawn has become a weed jungle and has bare patches all over. The operators never do their job properly and are rather untidy, application is more on my driveway than the lawn. Even after purchasing their most expensive annual program ,the product and service is not as promised. The applications are never done in the backyard even after several reminders. Not satisfied with any of their service visits !!! very deceptive practices and extremely rude customer service, including manager. charges were made with no service provided. they had no record of my cancellation, my name and information on file was incorrect still charge me for the new year ! the service records were backdated on my new invoice by the company, where as the technician has clearly stated that the services were done on the new invoice.

This is a well-run company that offers meaningful discounts to renewing customers. I have been satisfied with their service since I became a customer three years ago. They let me know when they have been at the house by putting a sign on the lawn and a description of the treatment in an envelope for me to read when I get home. My lawn looks great and I attribute it to the regular treatments which are tailored as far as I can tell to the different seasons and growing conditions. Today I received a renewal notice in the mail for a house I no longer live in (it's been over a year) despite having talked to them at least 5 times and having emailed at least 5 times. I prepaid for The Complete Program,They have only been to my house once on April 2021 for spring fertilizer .My front lawn needs and side road lawn care and I choose hometurf since they sending us letters in the mail, so I decided to give it a try from Weedman to them. My front yard had the dandelions especially the side walk. I email them to ask when did they start their weed control. Their answer is first weed control application will be completed in May or June, weather permitting. Well, May weather look very good at least from last 2 weeks but so far seems they're coming. My neighbour has their company comes over do the spraying. Meanwhile, I bought a few Weed Control spray to eliminate myself, they're cosy almost $40 each but now there is way too many. I do not know I selected the right company.

The service provided is appalling. They charged us the fee and did not provide us with the service. For the first couple of weeks no one turned up to the house for any service. I then received a call from their Service Manager requesting them to provide them with another chance. First they tried to push the fact that someone did provide service, when I asked them for proof of service they fell on their face. Their story to all is that they had someone in the organization who would not provide service and report back to their office mentioning service was provided and the Manager mentioned that they fired him! Anyways after their persistent requesting I let them have another chance at it. And I categorically told them that when the next guy comes for treatment he should knock on the door and let us know. I even emailed them prior to the arrival that he should not go on the lawn without letting us know. However, this time, the guy came, quietly hung the paper on the door and left. The paper said they visited and treated the lawn!!! When I called them, they mentioned that he did the service on the lawn and that they do not knock on doors. Unbelievable, they hang the paper on the door but do not knock! On the email I had categorically mentioned that they should not go to the lawn without knocking, huge Privacy Breach! Then when I called to complain the Manager didn't apologize and said she would send the tech back. When I said I will report to the BBB she said for what; I'm sending in back. Are you kidding me? Giving this 1 star is being generous. This is by far the worst home lawn care company I have ever dealt with. They do not come at any of the intervals they state they are coming. It is coming to the end of October and my lawn has still not been seeded or aerated and it will still be another 2 weeks “weather permitting” they have come to my house only 2x this season and the one time that they came they fertilized my neighbours lawn and not mine. What a waste of money. There is 0 accountability. You call customer service and they don’t have any way to get in touch with a manager or anyone responsible and they won’t even allow you to cancel early to get money back. I’ve sent emails and surveys to their company and have still no response. Stay away!

UPDATE*** Hometurf finally decided to fertilize my lawn however, my home security cameras caught the guy simply lugging the machine across my lawn, dropping off the invoice and heading back to his truck. This company has been exposed as a scam. Do NOT trust Hometurf. I decided to change lawn care companies and go with Hometurf this year. My experience with them so far (service not yet received) is very poor. They're not responsive and lack customer service skills. They have yet to perform any services which was paid for weeks ago. I have received zero correspondence or a payment receipt. When I call in (after numerous call attempts), the customer service rep has a lousy, careless attitude. It was a big mistake choosing Hometurf. It will also be the last time. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Please save your money and go with another company.

My neighbour, who has done not to his lawn, looks so much better. They have seeded the lawn, looks terrible. No change. Many dead areas. The back lawn was treated with their weed application and has completely burnt the lawn. It looked much better before. When I called customer service to cancel the subscription as I don't want to see the grass deteriorate further, they had no resolution or suggestion as to how to correct the problem. Customer service is absolutely rude! Customer service said there is no refund, however my lawn looks worse than before and we are only half way into the season. HUGE WASTE OF MONEY! This is my August 30 update. Still a big waste of money. They came back for a “complimentary” second weed application. The stuff they use is called “Fiesta” and it does nothing. Weeds are a strong, tall, and healthy and the grass looks like crap. No refunds given because their “system does not allow it”. I haven’t seen them in weeks. Read the reviews to see how many suckers like me there are. I will note that the people the send to your house are nice, friendly, and work their butts off in the sweltering heat. We have been using hometurf lawn care for 4 years for weeding, fertilization, seeding and aeration. The improvement in our lawn over the years is noticeable. The company sends an email a day or two prior to coming. They always come when they are scheduled to. They are also very careful to close the gates when they leave (we have dogs). They leave instructions on what to do once they have left (how much to water, and when). Their products are pet friendly.

We've been using their yearly lawn maintenance service for several years now. Appreciate the fertilizing, aeration and over-seeding services to help with the timing of these services so that we don't have to think about them ourselves. That being said we still have issues with crab/quack grass mid-way through the summer, hoping this year their new service addressing this issue will help with that. Sometimes they do complete a service when rain is expected, and the protocol clearly calls for no watering/rainfall. But we did provide feedback about that and it hasn't happened since.

The following year without my consent they started to fertilize my grass and then they presented me with a bill at the end of the year for their worthless service, so I decided NOT to pay for it because I did not consent to a second year. Just recently they turn my "non-payment" over to the credit bureau, that threatened to screw up my credit, forcing me to pay. So unimpressed with this company. In my experience, they are not flexible to meet the needs of their clients. They expect you to be home at a days notice and have no idea that this may not work for everyone. They do not realize that 24 hours notice is not sufficient. They do not realize that some people may not feel comfortable leaving their property unlocked for strangers to work on when they are not home. They do not come on Saturdays, when those who work mon-fri would be best suited. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, they "do not have access to a phone". I got sick of being screwed around by them and of their excuses and asked for a refund. I was told they do not give refunds- even though their flyers say that they do, minus a $20 administration fee. If you are serious about hiring this company, look at all the negative reviews and consider this: if you have ANY problems, they will NOT give you a refund! Their work is NOT backed with any kind of satisfaction or guarantee. So you are spending hundreds of dollars, and if you have any problems, you just wasted that money! Furthermore, I paid for the full service on April 28, 2021. It is now May 18th and they have not come once. I paid for the full service. They were apparently supposed to have come to my property the first week of May for a spring fertilizer. I was on email notification of this. I never got the email. The only email I have received at present was the receipt of when I paid. They are disorganized and there is a SERIOUS problem with how this company is run to the point where the more i deal with them the more i think they are scam artists. At present I have called them 4 times. If it was not for those phone calls then I would have no communication with this company as they are not contacting me. This company is a joke. I DO NOT recommend them. Hire someone else- even if you pay hundreds more. Just do yourself a HUGE favour, save the hastle and DO NOT hire these guys!

Have been using this service for 3 years, each year hoping my lawn would improve. Improvement was minimal. My lawn is full of weeds. Technician spends 5 minutes on your lawn and are not thorough. Every time they miss spots or weeds don't die and you have to call for a respray. Don't waste your money, do it yourself. Since it wasn't a huge increase, I reluctantly agreed, but wondered about this "specific" quote I had originally received. When they came out for the first service, they only did half my yard! I called in to find out why. Two weeks later, I got a phonecall...they wanted to increase the price a second time...this time by a lot! What the heck happened to the first quote, the one that was supposedly specific to my address? Not professional and certainly not as advertised.

Have used this company in previous years and was satisfied. Definitely NOT satisfied this year. It's May 20, 2021 and we have not had a lawn treatment yet. When they come, they always put a sign on the lawn, a sheet in our mailbox stating what has been applied and whether we need to water as well as a lawn assessment. We also see granules when they apply product. None of these were done this spring. My husband is an immune compromised senior so is always home, doesn't even go out to shop. Our lawn was not treated, although we paid for this service. Home Turf could care less. Spent half an hour on hold trying to get through to company - company records show they did our home - they absolutely did not. Customer service manager Desiree extremely rude - no apology, curt, dismissive - she did not care one bit. Offered a $10 credit. Considering we paid $300 for 6 visits, that did not sit well with us. We asked to cancel and have $300 minus the $10 value of missed visit returned - no refunds apparently. Will definitely not be renewing at the end of this year and highly recommend that homeowners save yourselves the hassles and look elsewhere. There are many lawn care companies out there that don't treat their customers this way. I asked for contact for Matthew Hooper, owner - email address - Desiree refused to provide it. Extremely poor handling of a customer who they failed to provide contracted and paid for services to.

Con Artists! And my Lawn hasn't changed for the better there are more weeds in my front yard and my front yard looks worse. Over a year ago I asked if there would only be a one time payment and if I would have to pay again. Hometurf Lawn Care said no. I'm not sure what kind of wording I should use to cancel. I'm not a mind reader. And then I believe a couple days before March 19th I had a treatment done to my lawn. Not knowing why I had a treatment I called Hometurf Lawn Care on March 19th 11:41am a call they have no record of but I still have a record of the phone call on and time I called on my phone. On the date in question I asked them why I was continuing to get treatments done to my lawn and if I had to pay more for the treatments. Hometurfs response was no its apart of the package. Fast forward a little over a month later I get a bill in the mail for $316 to my surprise. I have been working 12 to 13 hour days so I could support my wife and 1 year old daughter so I couldn't call them directly to ask them why I was given this bill. So my wife called Hometurf to try and argue the bill. She was told all u have to do is make a verbal cancelation which I did. Then she argued the fact that I had canceled the treatment to my Lawn already. And the person she spoke to said there was no record of a call March 19th or any cancelation so my wife agreed to pay $125 to cancel. The whole reason I wanted treatment to my yard is because it was cheaper then doing it myself or so I thought. My wife was told its a continuing seasonal treatment every year. This company manipulates people with a deal on a flyer and when u ask them if you are done paying for treatments and they say yes you would think u would be done.

Have used other lawn care services in the past and have not been satisfied with the service or outcomes compared to the price. Decided to give Home Turf a try and couldn't be happier! We went with the premium package for the first year which included weed control, over seeding, pest control, fertilizing and aeration. The difference in just one year was remarkable. They informed us the day before a treatment so that we could have our back gate unlocked to service the back yard. This was so helpful given our work schedules. The office staff was quick to respond to any questions we had and always wanted to ensure that we were satisfied.....including doing an additional weed spraying due to a challenging dandelion year! We have upgraded to the Ambassador program this year and took advantage of the early bird savings. I would HIGHLY recommend Home Turf if you want the lawn that the neighbourhood envies! Very affordable for the services provided.

I have been using hometurf for several years. Their program is very robust, in assisting me having the greenest lawn on the court. They are reliable and timely with their services. Management has been very receptive to feedback when service improvements were suggested. All in all they provide good value for money spent.

Hometurf offers a 10% prepay discount but doesn't tell you that there's no refund whatsoever! After paying for the season, I decided to cancel the service before any service is provided. I was told that a refund cannot be issued. First of all, the no-refund policy is unreasonable, especially when no service has been provided at all. What's more frustrating is that as a customer, you are not told at all about this policy until after you have already paid. This aggressive attitude towards refund makes me doubt the quality of Hometurf's service and the lack of proper disclosure damaged my trust in this company. This will be my last year using Hometurf's service.
