I found some really nice sirloin on sale today. The best thing about Safeway is they always have fully stocked shelves. I was at the Superstore and the meat department was almost empty, that doesn't happen at Safeway even it's a really good sale they make sure they are overstocked. Lots of checkouts open with very friendly people. I always go to Arthur St. Safeway, koodoos.

Horrible. They are embarrassing themselves at this particular Safeway. Overpriced. I went there on a Sunday morning, carrying my bible for Christ sakes. Made a purchase, and the staff came running out and accused me of stealing!!! I'm an engineer, and engineer makes $60-$70K a year. Why would I steal? I showed them the receipt, they left me alone. Maybe it was because I'm brown?

Reasonably good prices. Great customer service! Only downside is that sale items go quickly and because we're in Thunder Bay, don't always get restocked before the end of the sale. Mention it at customer service and you get a raincheck, no hassle at all.

Prices tend to be high, produce has the be checked for mold regularly, and they never seem to have more than one check out open. I don't know how they can compete and stay in business if they don't become more competitive...better fresh food, lower prices, more customer service. The bakery is good and the selection of produce is acceptable, but they are not my first choice for groceries or my second choice or even my third...and I can see the store from my window!

They kept my Mothers receipt and never gave us a pack of yogurt that we forgot after we paid for it. Air miles were stolen we believe as you need a receipt to claim them. The staff at check out are not nice we have problem ms with them all of the time. They hold their hand on scale when fruit is weighed too. This is not Canada from my youth. This never happened ever.

I just wanted so say a huge thank you to Karen. We went through self check out and she noticed a Bonsai plant in our cart, and immediately asked if we wanted it wrapped. We of course agreed and she went to wrap it. While doing this, she also helped all the other customers at the self checkout without missing a beat. When she came to us, she handed us our Bonsai, which was wrapped in orange paper, with a green ribbon. It was adorable and thoughtful. She said she just had to wrap it in orange, and I am so grateful for her for doing so. Her gesture and happiness was very contagious. If you ever get to read this Karen, thank you so much. It really made our night, and I can’t thank you enough for your kindness, it was much needed on our end (:

They downsized their selection of products and eliminated options for customer. For some funny reason ores seems to be all the stuff that my family and I like, need , putt use regularly. Now I have too go to other stores to fill my grocery list so I might as well buy all my other stuff there as well. Sorry Safeway you were good at one time but now you have forced me to go elsewhere.
