Probably the best menu in Swan River apart from Madoco, but kitchen is typically very slow. Today my wife and I waited through the entire lunch hour... they got an appetizer to our table within 15 minutes, but still no entrees by 12:50, and one was even ordered from the "express menu"! After another 5 minutes waiting by the till, they tried to get us to take the food in to-go bags. Uh... no thanks, and amazingly this is not the first time we've been shut-out by the kitchen! Locals already know, but this might be good for out-of-town visitors to be aware of: good food, but be prepared to spend a long time waiting for your meal – even during non-peak hours. Hopefully this restaurant is able to improve to where they place the same level of pride in their service as they seem to place on their menu.

I had a steak sandwich with garden salad. The server was efficient and friendly. Stumbled on it as trucker who parked nearby. Good value awesome variety on the menu. Watched some other food items roll by and it looked amazing. I will come back again when in swan river.

Enjoyed a nice menu variety with some international flavours. There were vegetarian dishes as well. We had ratatouille served in a half eggplant. Also a warm beet salad served with feta, walnuts and toast. The raspberry cheesecake was something to write home about... it had pieces of raspberry cake held together with cheesecake.

Y Not Johnny's? Let me tell you why not..... After being seated we were never approached again and while we waited for 30 minutes before leaving, I watched as wait staff would pop in the dinning area like lost deer only to turn around to hide out by the bar... I mean, I wouldn't have minded the wait if I had a drink, but they ignored us and 3 other tables. Funny enough we met one of the other tables at the Pizza place, much better service there.

Enjoyed our evening dinner and although we didn't have any reservations we were found a table within a few minutes. The menu has something to satisfy young and elderly diners. Highly recommend this restaurant! We will definitely be back.☺

Was passing through yesterday and we needed a place to eat. We try to only eat local when we're travelling, and this made our short list. Wasnt too sure after reading some reviews, but decided to try anyways. Definitely wasn't disappointed. Staff were alright, food was amazing, and much quicker than we had been led to expect. Service and food are almost always great. Unfortunately speed of food coming out of the kitchen can leave alot to be desired. Thought this was a one time thing, but after 4 attempts it still hasn't gotten any better. 45 minutes for a burger, fries and wings is un acceptable. Also one of only 2 places in town that serves nachos, but after this new menu change they are no longer available. Yet another reason to go else where for us. Great place if you have a couple of hours to kill, but we've got things to do.

Service has been exceptionally slow and disorganized lately. It took 40 minutes for us to get drinks and order what we wanted. By the time the food actually reached our table we had been waiting for an hour and a half, we ordered just appetizers. Our server was very disorganized and had to come by to re-check what we ordered on numerous occasions. There were items that we ordered that didn't end up coming out even though we had asked about them several times, we ended up saying we didn't want them, but were almost charged for them at the end of the meal. Not to mention the appetizers were over cooked and hard. More training should be offered to servers and cooks as it seems the waiter didn't really know what she's doing as with the cooks. I blame the owners for this because it is their responsibility to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Y NOT Johnny's catered an anniversary party in their restaurant last week. Due to distance of people in our party, all correspondence was done via email and text. They were responsive when we contacted them, efficient in providing us menu options and delivered a wonderfilul meal at the quoted price. The selving staff was attentive but not invasive. We appreciated that they allowed us to linger after dinner in their meeting room without hurrying us out. We highly recommend this restaurant for your next group event!

After a brief but pithy exchange of information regarding local eating establishments with the concierge at the Super 8 Hotel we decided upon Y Not Johnny's as the eatery for our evening repast. There were two tables of patrons as we entered and waited to be seated. We chanced upon a waiter/manager/owner carrying dirty dinner plates to the rear of the restaurant and inquired about obtaining a table and perusing a menu for our aforementioned repast. The man seemed out of sorts and informed us that due to a lack of customers as of late business was suffering and he must close extra early (we arrived before 8 pm), so he turned us away as customers.... I can only assume that his business model is of similar construct to the one I used myself during kindergarten playtime when I myself was a budding imaginary restaurateur. Y not Johnny's? Alas, I believe that perhaps a better query/name would indeed be "Y Johnny's?" So, without question, we took our leave to further explore alternative culinary options in this quaint hamlet of Swan River and eventually found our way to a lovely establishment with adornments and savoury aromas reminiscent of Old Rome and the Italian peninsula by the name of The Pizza Place. I will relay this tale ,good reader, but one must venture on to my review of The Pizza Place in order to unfurl the specifics of this next and final account in our culinary expedition... Arrivaderci...

Menu 'we serve breakfast!'. 'Hi, are you serving breakfast right now'? 'Uhh I dont think we ever serve breakfast'. Menu 'Comes with soup, salad or fries' 'Whats the soup today?' 'We don't have soup today' Written on door 'free wifi'. 'Whats the wifi password?' 'I don't know' Waitress was pleasant, no fault to her. Water had no ice, although they had ice. After giving up on water ordered pepsi and specified ice, pepsi was flat. Food was surprisingly decent, so got that down anyways. Dont offer things on your menu if you don't do them. 3 stars country wide, but for manitoba this is michelin star.
