My personal experience with MIgardener as a company is very pleasant. I wanted to grow food as soon as I could but didn’t have the means for it and MIGardener does “seeds for needs” program where people can donate, participate in giving, or receive seeds and I filled out the form and a few months later I received seeds in mail for free and I’m ecstatic! I am planting my first real garden that will produce enough food for my little family next year! Thank you!

Caution on purchasing any seed from them: I would not recommend purchasing any seeds from them. This year (2019) I had at least 4 mix up with seeds I purchased from them. I have many packets that I have not used yet, so who knows how many more mix ups I could have. I understand they would not know of mix ups until customers notify them. However, even after notifying them they refuse to admit one of my seeds (jalapeno) is not a jalapeno (see pic). Luke insists that they are jalapenos. Anyone who has grown a jalapeno can see that the picture is nothing like that (lime green in color, pepper started to curl after growing a certain length, as well as having indented lines...the peppers are growing to a length of about 7-8 inches). Some people my not think it is a big deal, but I planted my vegetable seeds to what I wanted to harvest and supply for my family, canning, etc. I am so disappointed in not having the plants I wanted. Very frustrating and angry at the customer service. As soon as I pushed that the pepper plant was not a jalapeno plant, never got a response back from them. They did send me a replacement for my tomatillo seeds but I purchased 2 packets (which I told them of in the email) and they only sent one. Notified them of that, and still have not received another packet. This is mainly to prove a point in that as a business they do not stand by the products they are offering/selling. Luke refused to replace the packet of jalapeno for me (they have replaced two others, but not sure what they will be can only hope if I do decide to use them) and insist there was not an issue with jalapenos. Out of the all the plants I did plant, I should of had 5 jalapeno plants. Not one of them produced anything as such. Also, any customers that would comment on their facebook page regarding questions or concerns about their vegetables not being what they planted, MI Gardener would delete their post and/or comments. They did admit to the mix up but would not allow anyone to mention what mix ups they encountered and have stated that mistakes happen. Sure understood, but let your customers know of all those mistakes so they are aware of what they are and what product (plants) to expect when they plant them. They refused to acknowledge to me the issue with the Jalapeno seeds. So this review is to make customers aware that MI Gardener does NOT notify their customers of ALL their mix ups with their seeds, even after MI Gardener has been notified of issues from their customers. Many ways of notifying your customers! Mix ups that I had with the seeds I planted this year were with (there where others as well, these are only my issues): Brussel sprouts - turned out to be radishes, tomatillos - turned out to be a roma tomato or similar tomato, Jalapeno's - some kind of mystery pepper, and so far my Yellow Habanero is turning out not to be a Habanero. Not sure what it will as of yet? Not to mention many other seeds I have purchased and did not use for the 2019 year. They have had many mix ups in prior years (only to find this out after searching social media after my issue). 99cents for seeds isn't worth it, if you are a mystery gardener and don't care about what you plant, then go for it. If you plant vegetable according to what you and your family want, then I suggest go else where.

I've received several packs of seeds, and the only ones that didn't grow are the ones I haven't gotten out of the pack yet. (My garden is behind due to me being busier than expected.) I also think they are good quality seeds, since a Black Sea Man tomato that is still in the 2nd transfer pot (and should have been planted a couple weeks ago, but the area it's headed for, has been a construction zone until this week,) already has a tomato on it! It's now about the size of a ping pong ball. Good thing I'll be able to plant it today, eh?

I have purchased twice from them online. I planted some cucumber seeds but was worried that I had planted the seeds to late. I purchased some plants from our local greenhouse and planted them where I had prepared for them. I could not just kill the ones I planted so I made up a round planter out of stuff I had laying around. I transplanted the cucumbers I started from their seeds. They 3 weeks later are larger and in much better shape than the plants I purchased that were over twice the size when I purchased them from my seedlings. I had one issue with a large fertilizer order a while back where it was clearly a postal issue. The package was sent, it never arrived, the post office basically lost it. I came across the post about MIgardener wanting to bury any bad reviews that they can not make disappear. I myself have removed all my reviews of MIgardener, because they don't like anything I say , no matter how I say it. I just get bullied till I take down my reviews, anyone who has a negative experience is bullied till the reviews are taken down, in various ways..It's all just a matter of time till we all are an angry post ,or video away from having MIgardener lashing out. It doesn't matter what we think, what our opinions,or experiences have been like. The only opinion that matters to MIgardener, is MIgardeners, if you don't agree all the time , you get treated pretty bad. I am tired of seeing the bulling. Some bad reviews are bogus, but some are real, have really sucked, and some have been treated horribly for being honest. Peoples experiences should be safe to share without being lashed out at . If you doubt it, try being honest and posting about things that you think could be improved, or maybe if you had troubles at one point with something..See what happens when you talk about the whole truth.. This company would rather deny every possible thing that could be considered a failure in someway, then to take the information,be accountable, and move forward without mistreating people...No one learns or grows that way. I have bought seeds from here the past few years. I’ve gotten nearly 100% germination from most of them. Such good seeds for such a good price! You can’t go wrong with the fertilizer, either. My tomato plants really take off when I add Trifecta to the transplant hole along with some water. I’ve had to order some seeds from other sources, but, I think they are still ramping up to keeping everything in inventory and knowing what their inventory should be. I’m pretty sure their sales and inventory control have been a little overwhelming during these first few years. So glad to be a customer of such a great up and coming family business.

Great products and customer service. I had an issue where I double ordered seed and asked to cancel/reimburse the second order. They responded quickly and settled the matter. Germination rates on the seed I purchased are very high (1 seed out of 40 planted didn't germinate). Highly recommend.

Unfortunately the quality of seeds cannot be trusted. Many packs produced plants other than what was on the front. Zero e-mail responses from their customer service. If you cant back up what your selling then whats the point? Now im stuck with non cherry "cherry tomatoes" I spent 6 months growing and cucumber seeds that are fat and round and tasteless instead of strait eight cucumbers. The owner also publicly attacked me on their youtube channel.

Luke is honest and wants to only help gardeners with his expertise. I use the products he sells, Trifecta Plus (best organic fertilizer) and also his 911. DON'T BUY THE E-GIFT CARDS! I ordered a e-gift card to let my son use for the seed launch. Waited 30min with no e-card. Called to double check, they said to call back if it wasn't there soon. I called again after 1hr. They said the system may be lagging & that they would have a manager check at 9a the next day. 10:30a the next day & I still hadn't received anything. I call again & I'm told the manager had stepped out but would be back shortly. Another hour & a half goes by with no email/call. I finally decide to call back & just request a refund. Magical at this point when I'm already fed up & on my 4th call to fix this, they offer to verbal give me the code. I said no, I would prefer to just get my money back at this point. They made it clear to me that they are more worried about advertising for their seed launch then actually take care of customers. I will gladly pay higher prices at Baker Creek to actually get help the first time I call with an issue.

I’ve purchased seeds and fertilizer from MIGardener for the past few growing seasons. The germination rate rivals more expensive larger companies. I’ve never had issue with seeds being sent in the wrong package (and I have from larger companies on many occasions...hot peppers instead of sweet peppers makes my taste buds angry). I’ve always had excellent plants that produced well and all for .99/pack. I LOVE Trifecta+ and have used it for several seasons. I tried the ReviverX last season and also enjoyed the results. I used some ReviverX after our lovely Chicago weather decided Spring isn’t a season and that 90 in May was ok. The plants enjoyed it immensely as they were suffering from heat exhaustion as much as I. I really could go on and on about this wonderful company but I urge everyone to just place an order and see for yourself!

We ordered seeds from MI Gardener this year based on all of Luke’s great YouTube videos. We were so excited for specifically our Yellow Stuffer Tomatoes. We planted over 10 of these specific plants in our garden because this was the variety we really wanted. Unfortunately, we received the wrong seeds in the yellow stuffer plant seed packet. I reached out to MI Gardener’s customer service people and received a response (attached) that we DID in fact receive the wrong seeds within the Yellow Stuffer packet. We feel defeated as how do we know that the other seeds we ordered for next season are the right ones? After waiting for a response from Luke’s team, I’m unsatisfied with this whole process of their customer service. I get that there may not be many people working on this team, but if you identify that it’s the wrong seeds, wouldn’t you try and mend the situation right then and there? We have spent over $100 on MI Gardener seeds, and expect a little better customer service via email.

I ordered a liquid soil amendment for our garden. The package arrived damaged and was in a plastic bag from the post office because it was leaking badly. I called MI Gardener today and they said no problem we'll send out another one. My only complaint is that the original shipment took longer than expected to arrive. 11 days. Came across these guys on their YouTube channel when searching a video of how to care for goji berries. Have been following their YouTube channel ever since and have planted their seeds in my garden this year. I put their seeds Head to Head against seeds from a big box store and MIGardner seeds we're the only ones that grew in my garden. The harvest has been amazing so far with the lettuces and spinach. The tomatoes and squash are growing like nothing I've ever seen before. I will always buy my seeds now from these guys as they are a wonderful startup business with great customer service. Although I love the YouTube videos, I am not happy with the seeds. This was my first year trying MIG seeds and I will return to my normal supplier next year. Some seeds germinated really well, some about 50% and some not at all. For example, every sweet banana pepper seed germinated while not one of the hot ones did. I need more reliable production.
