Terrible service. I booked an appointment well in advance for one of their staff to come and give my husband and I a quote to waterproof and fully finish out basement ( a large and likely expensive job). The day of the appointment, I made sure that I would be home with my husband to go over exactly what we wanted. I even took time off of work to be available to talk with them. 1 hour after the scheduled appointment we had not heard or seen anyone. My husband phoned to see if they were on their way. His call was answered in a joking tone saying "Oh well you know, *employee* had a rough day for a Monday." That was it, no explanation, no apology, no offer to reschedule, nothing. I would have been more than understanding had I received a call asking us to reschedule, or explaining that he was running late. There is no way I would trust a company that is so irresponsible this early in the game to perform renovations on my home.

I hired GCC to completely renovate my master bath. The owner (Paul) came when he said he would and gave a quote that I thought was very reasonable. He provided a list of about 20+ references and I called 3 of them. All were happy with the work and said the jobs were professionally completed. It took about 11 days in total for Paul and Dave to complete most of the work ( the 2 of them make up the company with one additional person who helps in tear downs of the old fixtures etc). They removed everything from the bathroom and built a new subfloor, installed concrete board and then the Schluter system in the shower, removed a large bulkhead and then built a wall and smaller bulkhead to enclose a new linen tower; tiled the shower and floor, installed new pot lights and exhaust fan, removed wallpaper and painted the bathroom, and installed new shower and vanity fixtures, new toilet etc) The granite counter and glass shower doors were installed separately by companies specializing in those items. Paul connected the plumbing for my sinks and installed a grab bar today to complete the job. I was very pleased with the work of the 2 men who were on time, pleasant and consulted with me if there was ever a question. There are several mediocre renovation companies out there, and others which overcharge for their work. GCC met all of my expectations with great employees, quality workmanship and a very fair price. I recommend that you seriously consider them for any renovation project in your home.

Garden City Construction recently completed a main bathroom renovation for us. We were very pleased with the quality of the workmanship. Paul and his team handled all aspects of the job very well including the plumbing, electrical, drywall, and tiling. This made the renovation much easier on us because we didn't have to coordinate the different trades. They were very professional, organized, responsive, flexible, friendly and polite. They showed up on time for all appointments and each day on the job. Our quote was dropped off in our mailbox the day after Paul looked at the job. After the majority of the work is complete and the contractor has moved on to another job, it is usually difficult to get them to come back and finish the loose ends. But in our experience with Paul, if we asked him to come back to do something, he was there the next day to finish the job. Garden City Construction exceeded our expectations with very skilled workmanship at a reasonable price. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any home renovation.
