Just had these great guys at the house to clean out a huge cluster of trees that had not been taken care of in years. Starting fresh on the yard. They had a great price best we could find, were on time and did a wonderful job. We had contacted them in the off season and they kept their word on the price and date to do the job. I have used Capital City Tree Service twice now and have been completely impressed by their work, as well as their high level of customer service. These guys were a pleasure to work with. We had a tree come down after a snow storm and needed it removed. They answered the phone on the first couple rings, were able to come out for a quote within hours, completed the work the next day after approving the quote. I own a place that I operate as a rental unit, so managing this kind of work can sometimes be difficult, but there guys were super easy to work with. Great communication over phone and text with fast, clear replies. Took care of the job quickly and left the area looking good. Payment was easy to do remotely via an e-transfer. Highly recommend!

Quick quote, friendly and trustworthy people, best price in town, job was done well and very quickly. I didn't know about their style of payment so that created a bit of running around in the end but it was all fine. We think they might've hit a fence board but it looks like they fixed it (we could be wrong) and anyone could have done that. Would definitely recommend.

I would give them a SIX!!! Kelly came out right away to see the job we had - which was the removal of 2 VERY large spruce trees and a dying birch. They gave us the BEST price! They called as soon as they had a vacancy and showed up the next day - keeping in touch all morning. Those trees came down in just a few hours. The trucks and roots were removed the next morning. First up to Kelly and the crew, my apologies for the late review. Life happens. My family and I are absolutely thrilled with the work that was carried out. We moved into the house 10 months prior. The large trees were over 25 years old and dead. We were very concerned with damage to our home and the potential damage to neighbouring properties. We got an estimate previously from another company but it was expensive and without stump removal. On a pension, these jobs can be upsetting for the household finances. I called Capital City and Kelly responded immediately. He came to my home on his own time and gave arbour advice and quotes. The price was excellent and so was the job that was done. They were safe ,efficient and friendly. I cannot more adamant about how much this matters. Being new to the neighbourhood, we didn't know anyone and didn't want to create any problems. The Capital city team were friendly and courteous to all who came to our home while work was being done. As a matter of fact, I now know my neighbors through my Capital City encounter. In closing ,I am going to go out on a limb for these guys without hesitation as they have done so for me already. Pun intended. They are everything that they are advertised to be and I have highly recommended them to my new neighbors. Trust me when I say that the level of professionalism and excellence displayed was fantastic. This is an unusually good crew, who exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. First, they did what they promised, when they said they would start, it took as long as they estimated, and they cleaned up after themselves extremely thoroughly. So they met the expectations that they had set. And then they exceeded those expectations. They suggested that my neighbor might want us to throw a half-dozen large spruce branches into the chipper, as it takes a minute for them, but saves the neighbor an extra trip. My neighbors were as surprised as I was, and probably more delighted, and it only took about a minute. They were generally one of the most friendly and professional crews I've come across, but this gesture is one reason I feel compelled to write a glowing review. Although this didn't impact the quality of the work done *on the tree*, it was reassuring to see they had strong safety routines, e.g. making sure that everyone stayed clear of areas that could see dropping branches (or parts of the trunk). These routines were so well drilled that they did not seem to lose any time at all. The crew seemed to always be moving, and there was zero down time in the two hours they spent taking down an enormous spruce and a medium-to-large birch. Finally, when they cleaned up, they took care of neighbors and public property just as well as my own. I was watching most of the time, since the trees were close to the house and I was curious, and I did not see a single thing I would want to change. I would be happy to contract with Capital City Tree Service again.

Thank you for a job well done! We received a quote to drop a large poplar tree situated between two buildings in our yard. The original quote was to cut and pulley the tree down in one piece. But upon arrival, the crew decided to climb and drop part of the tree in pieces to avoid damage to nearby buildings and surrounding trees - which was exactly what they did - flawlessly! Although a lot more time and work, Capital City Tree Service insisted on sticking with the original amount quoted. The crew arrived earlier than expected, worked seamlessly together to get the job done quickly, and went above and beyond to get it done properly. A professional, friendly, respectful, and down-to-earth group of guys! I would definitely hire Capital City Tree Service again and highly recommend you do the same!

Pros - INITIAL contact was prompt. - Courteous employees (Matt was great to deal with, always courteous, and up front about everything). - Great cleanup. - Decent price. Cons - Not timely (waited for months for service, and the only reason the job got done was a random social media comment). - Job completed was okay, nothing spectacular. - The owner did not show up when scheduled to receive payment. In fact, we were requested to deliver payment to the his address. - Only take cash, which is a slight inconvenience. It is unfortunate that what could have been a great experience turned out the way it did. Also unfortunate for the company as well, since our condo complex (70 units, everyone with trees) is looking for someone to maintain the trees. There's the big job this company looks for. If you've got something that will make for great Facebook photos, this is your place. For something less spectacular, look elsewhere.

Kelly came by for a consult several weeks before trimming a large elm in my back yard. The cost was very reasonable compared to another company's estimate I'd received. The crew came before the March 31st deadline for trimming elms. They were professional and did a great cleanup even though there was still snow on the ground. This was the second time I hired Capital City. They trimmed some birches for me last year. They did such a great job that my neighbors had them trim an overgrown maple in their yard. Absolutely excellent service in every respect - very professional, courteous, and communication from day of estimate to day of task completion was unprecedented compared to other companies I have dealt with over the years. It was very refreshing to find a company and staff with this degree of integrity and skill. This is the only tree service company I will hire in the future - highly recommend!

This company came highly recommended and did not disappoint. My neighbours removed a few trees with another company and it took over 5 days to complete the job. Capital tree removed 4 huge trees, and pruned one in a matter of A FEW HOURS. I couldn't even count how many workers they were coming in from all angles! Full clean up (they even jumped my neighbours fence and CLEANED THEIR YARD.. to which they responded that it was just simply part of the job and that they wouldn't want my neighbour finding a mess). Today they will come to grind a few stumps and then it's a done deal... Highly recommend this company for both quality, professionalism, and safety top notch!

Fast, safe and friendly to work with. They removed two 30' spruce trees for me in under 2 hours, I paid an additional $100 for them to grind down the stumps as well. If you need trees pruned or removed, these are the people to call.

Capital City Tree Service did an absolutely amazing job of clearing 5 large tower poplars in our yard. We were amazed at how quickly and efficiently they were able to down the trees, and truly “climbed to new heights” to ensure that the job got done properly. Once the trees were down, they chipped the smaller branches, cut and stacked the larger pieces, and cleaned the yard really well. Now we have sunlight again in both the front and back yards.....thank-you so much! They even marked the left over stumps with smiley faces for the stump grinder fellow who came later in the week. We definitely recommend their services for anyone looking for awesome work completed by an awesome group of guys.

This was the second time we used Capital City to remove a tree. They booked us in very quickly and were able to remove a large spruce in my backyard a week earlier than originally planned. There was a squirrel nest in the tree that my kids were really interested in, so the crew happily paused work when they reached it so that the kids could investigate before it came down. They were efficient, courteous, and cleaned up very well when they finished. I highly recommend this crew!

We have a farm north of the City and had a number of 40+ year old poplars starting to rot. Capital City took the trees down safely with minimal damage to our adjacent shrubs. We had a small miscommunication about the clean-up of leftover branches but the crew came back to clean everything up and left our shrubs looking nicer than it was before they came. Would definitely recommend them.

Kelly and his crew cut down our May tree. They explained everything they were going to do and it only took them an hour to cut the tree down plus we had some branches that were in our yard all winter from pruning in the fall and they took those too.
