Excellent store with lots of food options and essentials. They always have fresh fruits and vegetables. They have deli section which makes amazing sandwiches and paninis. Store is conveniently located with lots of parking. This Safeway also had small Starbucks.

Wow. Normally I’m not one to complain but I just had a very bad experience with cashier Trish F. I am in The middle of running errands, I’ve been doing yard work since 8 am. I am tired and sore. I was polite at the register but as I was walking away I heard the customer behind me make the normal small talk, asked how TRISH was doing and I heard her say very loudly as I was walking away, “OH HAHA, better than HER” I am assuming this was in reference to me. That was very uncalled for and just rude. Talking about a regular customer behind their back like that within earshot. I will never come back here again. That’s just mean. Bad customer service. Very dissatisfied.

Store is somewhat crowded on the shelves. However, Safeway carries products that are a little oddball compared to other grocery stores, which is nice. The meat department and deli are both fantastic, and almost push the rating to 5 stas. The prices are higher than other comparable stores though, which offsets the rating.

Such a horrible experience at Safeway today. Total chaos trying to follow the lines on the floor and poorly signed. I always make efforts to follow the directional signage in stores not only for my safety but the safety of other shoppers and people working in the store. This store was so poorly laid out, I realized 3/4 of the way down that I was going the wrong way. To my shock a little lady at the end of the aisle spoke loudly to another customer that she was OK, she pointed and me and said she is the one going the wrong way . I approached her and said that i found that quite rude not only that she yelled but that she pointed at me. She giggled a bit and apologized saying it was meant to be funny. Realizing that this was the store manager and this type of behaviour was clearly ok with her i bought the 2 items in my hand and left. Horrible hirrible experience.

My best grocery store experience bar none! The pharmacy is exceptionally professional but also friendly, even humourous. They cut their own meat with excellent butcher(s) on sight, unlike other unnamed places. Have developed special relationships with several staff over the years. Always helpful, responsive or delightfully abusive *jk as required at the moment.

I'm only disliking this because of one ghastly product, the roast chicken. Permeated with lemongrass and left to putrify. It looked as bad as it tasted, I ate one leg and had to discard the rest, it has tainted my view of Safeway, oh how the mighty have fallen. The cashier's were nice though, if they were crabby, I would have given it 1 star. I wish I had taken a photo of the chicken, it was that bad but I was hungry.

Very poor management. There seems to be absolutely no boundaries or respect giving to the customers or between staff members. Management needs to keep employees on task rather than socializing. We are in a pandemic! Social distancing is just as important for staff members in and around the store as everyone else.

Excellent bakery section for bagels and buns, but it would be great if they would source BC produce in the summer like everyone else. Always a bit pricier than the other grocery stores in town. I would really recommend the fresh made deli sandwiches though, especially if you're looking for a more interesting selection than the Subway across the street.

Caution when purchasing formula from Safeway! Was sold expired milk based formula, assistant manager handled it really well so hopefully it won’t be an issue anymore. I know mamas are tired but still double check your dates!
